• Aver (6/5): - I had higher expectations for this hotel and i feel that it made me more frustrated with the experience. Not four stars - the price was pretty low which should have been a warning, everything costs extra once you arrive. One device free on wifi, second is 2 euros/day? Parking very limited and difficult to maneuver, streets are very cramped. Toilet was fixed to wall and sagged and groaned when i sat, didnt feel comfortable fully sitting Corner room, good size. Ac did not work, outdated furniture. Door needed to be slammed to latch closed. Nowhere in shower to put anything, it was also very small, with one unlabeled bottle fixed to the wall (but not tamper proof, i could pick it up and open it). Provided a little basket of sample size body lotion and conditioner, no shampoo or soap Towel radiator didnt seen to work, and there was minor cosmetic damage to some areas (bathroom doorframe, shower) Breakfast was just ok, cold cuts, bread, and was 12.50 euro per day per person! It is close to public transport, our window faced the tram which could be quite noisy, especially when we opened the window (which was necessary during the day due to the lack of ac). The location could be better - it seemed like perhaps once a nice area that was not not so nice. I agree with another reviewer, it doesnt seem very safe to walk back here at night alone. It seemed like they bring you in with the cheap price then charge extra for everything.
• Jorge Carlos (10/5): - Excelente opción para pasar la noche después de un día de museos, llegamos a las 11:00pm con una llegada autónoma, el cuarto listo e impecable, el desayuno muy bien por €12 y la recepcionista muy amable por la mañana.Tiene estacionamiento por €10 la noche y está justo detrás del hotel. El hotel está ubicada en una zona residencial por lo que el estacionamiento es muy difícil por la noche, tomaría el del hotel.

• Micky (6/5): Stadthotel in Nähe S-Bahn - Hotel sauber und ordentlich. Zwischen 2 S-Bahnstationen gelegen. Zimmer zur Straße etwas laut. Es gibt 2 gebührenpflichtige Parkplätze hinterm Haus oder schräg gegenüber. Zimmer ausreichend mit Fenster zum komplett öffnen und Verdunklungsvorhang. Wasserkocher auf dem Zimmer. Frühstück im Keller mit freundlicher Bedienung. Auf dem Buffet alles was man braucht inclusive Rührei. Check in etwas umständlich da von Perso und Kreditkarte eine Kopie gemacht wird. Rechnung erhält man beim Check out.
• Anton (6/5): Hotelli Oktoberfest - Huone oli siisti ja raikas tuoksu sisään tultaessa. Siisti, mutta sängyn alta siistitty huonosti. Sänky oli todella siisti ja hyvä. Vesihanasta ei saanut kylmää vettä eikä henkilökunta sitä saanut toiminaan. Hotellin sijainti oli mainio muuhun liikkumiseen mutta matka kentältä majoitukseen oli pitkä. Wasen oli 10min U-bahn matkan päässä.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - Wir Haben ein Zimmer im Keller bekommen. Statt der gewünschten zwei Einzelbetten gab es nur noch ein Doppelbett. Die Fenster waren auf Boden beziehungsweise Straßenhöhe. Da die Straßenbahn beziehungsweise U-Bahn direkt am Hotel lang fährt, war an Schlaf, solange die Bahn fuhr nicht wirklich zu denken. Sehr schade denn das Hotel sonst einen guten Eindruck gemacht hat. Aber dieses Zimmer war ein absolutes NoGo.

Camera confortevole e pulita con climatizzazione, il che in estate anche a Stoccarda può essere necessario nei giorni molto caldo. Wi-Fi ok e colazione a buffet a pagamento (8€) ricca e abbondante. Da consigliare!
• Leonard (8/5): Comfortable stay - Had a great time in Stuttgart. The stay at Hotel Astro was comfortable. The room was big and it was great to have aircon in such hot weather. Our top floor room had a great view over the neighbourhood. The bathroom was interesting, having a Jacuzzi type bath with a hand shower but no shower curtain. I only shower, so avoiding a wet floor was quite a challenge. the hotel is well located, a few blocks away from a bunch of restaurants & across the road from the river front.

• bvphalkurke (6/5): Not for the meek hearted - I had to book this hotel since all business hotels were booked for trade fair. And prices of all hotels including this were hiked due to Trade fair in Stuttgart. My check-in time is at 2PM; I reach the hotel at 1:30PM, the door is locked, reception is unreachable. Pressed the call button, nobody answers. Tried it sometimes and finally a lady answers, literally sounds like she is asking me to go away and come back later. I mean, they know they have people travelling from around the world, would have traveled over 15 hours, and would need a place to settle down; atleast access to the lounge to sit and relax for couple of minutes. But no, the refused to open the door of the hotel. Check In was a no problem; as usual, need to give a credit card to block amount for the stay. Now, the room, it was bout 8ft x 8ft; and this was shocking for the money they were charging. There is no AC in many hotels here; the weather was cold. So its ok, but they did not even have any air circulation mechanism. It was really suffocating and claustrophobic. TV mostly has only german channels; which is acceptable. Bathroom was soap and shampoo in these units that fixed on the wall; dont know when the last time it was since they cleaned those units and refilled fresh; dont even know if they would do that for every new guest checking in. Bathroom was so small that it was not comfy even for bio calls. Breakfast was decent, there is no lunch. If you need to carry breakfast, then they charge you a couple of euros to pack a sandwich. Connectivity to city central is good, as we have U-Bahn station in about 500 meters from the hotel. There are no super markets or social activity around the hotel. You need to walk some distance to find anything. Overall, the hotel is not definitely for a business stay.
• elisabetta (10/5): Ottima soluzione a un buon prezzo - Ottima accoglienza, personale efficiente e competente. Camera spaziosa, pulita e ottimanente attrezzata. Un po' calda, ma con un ottimo bagno. Colazione con buona scelta a un prezzo consono. Posizione periferica, ma ben servito con i mezzi pubblici e vicino a ristoranti e a un supermercato.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Suitable hotel for a business trip - The hotel is simple, but clean, and convenient. Perfect for a business trip in the Hedelfingen area. Late check-in is possible via an interphone and a machine which gives the key. Breakfast costs 7 Euro, the choice of food is very wide (buffet), and of decent quality. TV screen is huge, and the choice of channels is very satisfying. All in all, satisfied with this hotel.

Eine s-Bahn Stelle ist nur wenige Schritte vom Hotel entfernt. Der Service ist sehr gut und zuvorkommend, sowie das reichhaltige Frühstücksbüffet und die schönen Zimmer. Lautstärke war o.k., obwohl das Zimmer zur Straße lag. Der Parkplatz hinter dem Hotel wurde extra berechnet und ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Alles in allem war der Aufenthalt gelungen und ich würde es jederzeit wieder buchen.

We were visiting the festival at Neckar park so it was either a 10 minute taxi ride or a few stops on the tram. Breakfast was ample and rooms were clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that when we got our bill it was 50 euros more than we had booked it for. After a few minutes of we did eventually pay what we were expecting.

Fenster dämmen den Straßenlärm recht gut, aber es war dann extrem warm da keine Klimaanlage vorhanden ist. Waren nur 1 Nacht, aber sehr enttäuscht. Frühstück okay.

Staff was Very good, i ask print some papers 10PM and this was not problem, THANKS ! Car parking +6 eur. We have room for 4 person and this was good.It was TopFloor corner. Mercedes Benz museum is very near by. Many shops near, Lidl, Penny etc.

• CHERYL (8/5): - The location worked very well for us. It is in a residential area, but is near several train stops, with easy access to city center. The room we had was quite small, but clean. The shower was small, but good. Our major issue was that there were NO English TV channels, only German and Chinese. We expected at least an English news channel (BBC or CNN International).

• kianooshr1 (6/5): overall good - was there in October, hotel is good for the price. location is not so close to tourist attractions. I was given one room on the top floor is very small . try to get the rooms not in front of the train view.

• Katie (8/5): Simple hotel near Mercedes museum - We stayed at the Astro for two nights to visit car museums. The hotel was perfectly fine for us. Friendly helpful staff. Very near a great Swabian restaurant and transport stops. English channels on the TV would be a nice bonus.

• Doradozg (8/5): Nice hotel with friendly staff and worst internet ever - Staff was friendly and helpful. Despite having room next to reception and windows facing tram/ubahn line (busy route) it was quiet enough to get some proper sleep (windows with good audio isolations). Room was spacious, bathroom clean and adequate to the hotel standard. Breakfast more than okay. The only thing that was not okay was the internet (and it's not that you have to pay for that which is rather common but its speed is like time travel to 90's where modems over analog line were used). Besides that - I can strongly recommend this place.
• TammyR451 (4/5): Mixed feelings. - I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. On one hand it has its good points: 1) close to public transport (trams) 2) we had a nice, refurbished room (number 211) which had a lovely big bay window, enough space for two and a lot of shopping, and new bathroom and comfy bedding. 3) very clean and hygienic, cleaners do a great job at daily room maintenance. 4) There is a fridge. NB: Although this is a positive, the negative is that this fridge is set to some weird lukewarm room temperature setting that doesn't cool anything anyways. And it has no freezer. This whole part of town has no ice cubes to put into drinks (us Aussies don't mind the heat but our drinks have to be COLD) Very disappointing. 5) the staff appear to be helpful. So, on the other hand, we have the negatives: 1) you are right on the tram line so it is noisy as hell most of the night in the front rooms (the silence is only between 1.30am and 4.30am) plus the pub across the road can ark up and there is also a budding Jimi Hendrix across the road who is practicing guitar. 2) it is hot as hell if u visit in summer. No air-con, no fans. Well, when we booked in the receptionist told us we could have fans in 2 days when other people checked out but here we are 4 days later and they still havent appeared, I suspect it is just a gesture to keep us quiet. You might get an occasional breeze if you are in the right room and your window opens the right direction but if it doesn't you bake and if it does prepare to need earplugs. 3) you will have to pay for WiFi. Yes, it is only $5 for 5 days, but most hotels give this to guests as a courtesy. 4) the room configuration is very different from room to room, it is luck of the drawer if u get a good one or not. 5) small things like no shelf in the shower for soap dish and toiletries, no top sheet on the bed, faulty room cards that take ages to unlock doors, and no English channels or subtitles on the TV. These might not bother some people but I mention it for those who it does. In general, if it was winter/autumn and not holiday season, this place would be wonderful as the hotel itself has beautiful decor and comfortable rooms. I wouldn't recommend it for the hottest weeks or someone wanting a quiet sleep.

• Amandine (8/5): Great stay - Nice hostel very close to the tram, not very noisy, quite clean, the only little drawback would be the lack of available parking spots around.
• DerBewerter (8/5): Nice rooms and affordable - I guess, that we had one of the nicest rooms. It was nicely furnished, with a very clean and well designed bathroom. The TV was 37 Zoll which was suitable for the room size. Only be prepared: the mentality is kind of special around Stuttgart and very different from the rest of Germany. You might experience this of course also at this Hotel. I would recommend this Hotel to visitors that are not willing to pay 150 euro and up and care less about the area. For a room that quality, that is the amount you would have to plan for in another area of Stuttgart.
• Brian1937 (8/5): Good basic hotel away from city centre - Stayed at hotel for 3 nights during the beer festival (which we thought was far better than Munich - much more typical German, not as commercial or full of Brit, Aussie or Kiwis). Rooms mostly seem to be comfy clean twins with small en-suites. Good breakfasts in a nice room, staff nice. Only really used the hotel for sleep. Stuttgarter Hof bar opposite, which would have been nice if it hadn't been full of smokers. Couple of iffy "railway station pubs" next to the tram station 2 mins away, but if you walk another 100yds the Rossle hotel / restaurant is very friendly. If traveling in a family / group buy a group day ticket for 10 euros, this covers up to 5 people all day around the city centre zones, much cheaper and easier than a couple of euros per person every trip. Centre of Stuttgart is mostly shops and you could be in any city in western europe, head for the excellent Merc museum (allow 4 hrs) or the pretty good Porsche museum but at the moment this is 99% dedicated to 911s (allow 2 hrs, out of town but right next to stn)
• laendersammler (6/5): Nothing to complain - I stayed here for one night in November 2012. No luxory, but for my needs all right (just searched for a budget place to sleep with good connection to the center by public transportation). Tramway right in front of the hotel. Traffic can be a bit noisy, but I had no problem to sleep. Furniture old, but I don't care.
• DanielS323 (6/5): Good for "Canstätter Was'n" - Due it's location there is baically no need to stay in this hotel, there are much better in the city center of Stuttgart. But, for some occasion like Volksfest which is just 5 minutes drive away, this hotel is pretty reasonable. We booked a very cheap rate at booking.com - and well, what we paid is what we got. The room was very small and equipped with rather old furniture - But everything was in OK condition. At checkout, I made the new experience of additional costs for credit card payments...
• mollyrae (8/5): Better than expected - We stayed in this affordable hotel on the last Saturday night of the Canstatter Volksfest, so we brought earplugs along and the expectation of a not-so-great experience. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel, staff and breakfast. We had a room away from the stairwell (so we didn't hear much late night traffic), and our room was very clean. And, the beds were incredibly comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an additional 7 euros, and I was pleased with the selection. They had everything from hot eggs and maultacshen (a regional dish), to cold cuts and cheeses, to fresh veggies, to smoked fish, to fruit and a variety of breads. For the price during the season, I would recommend this basic but fine place to stay.
• GiuseppeZ109 (6/5): Old and tired - I decided to book this hotel for a business trip, due to its position close the place where my meeting was held. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly, apart from that the room was a disappointment. Furniture is old and tired, tv very small. On top of that, I asked for a quiet room while booking, and I got one facing the tramway (lees than 10 meters from my window). The breakfast is not worth if you like to have freash fruit and croissant but is probably good if you like sausages and eggs. This is not my first business trip in Stuttgart, I must admit that is difficult to find a good hotel at a reasonnable price. This one was 75€/night single room (above the average of my previous Stuttgart experiences), I hope next time I'll find something better for less money.
• Quidakins (6/5): Ask for a refurbished room ! - Stayed here in a single room for two nights. For the money paid it was overpriced in my opinion . My room was clean but basic and out dated , particularly my bathroom .The size of the room good but with no A/C and being on the ground floor (not wanting to leave windows wide open ) I baked at night . There was a small mini bar fridge , but no tea and coffee making facilities . We did not try the breakfast as it was an extra charge and did not really seem to be happening , no demand I guess ... The hotel is in nice area with a bakery , supermaket and public transport all just around the corner . Only at the end of the weekend did I discover that my two friends , also in ground floor singles , had nice modern new bathrooms and their rooms were much cooler as they had shutters on the windows not curtains !
• jonnyg148 (6/5): good and bad also.. - stayed early march 2012. Hotel is what it is, basic but clean! got there late the first night and eventually managed to get someone on the buzzer for our room key's. got to room and was fine, again basic but clean. went to work the next day and when i came back my case including clothes, toiletries and passport / travel docs had been taken!! - obviously very concerned by this i tried to find someone on reception. when i did they said oh are you room 3**, i have just put your bag back...! shocked (yet releived) that it had even been taken i was told that due to my late arrival the previous evening my room wasn't that good and reception was going to upgrade me for my second and final night... Again still shocked but releived i moved rooms but noticed that my contact lens case and solution had been binned from my old room. this meant i had to keep my lenses in instead of taking them out as planned. The next morning i woke at 4am with torturous pain in my right eye and then developed a nasty eye infection, which four days later i'm still having affects. Be VERY careful not to leave anything in the hotel. OK i got my bag back and nothing was missing but its not the point and i still lost my lens equipment... made for a slightly disappointing trip after things had started so well!
• MinnesotaM-GreenBay (8/5): Good and Bad - Stayed in this room January 31st. I took my three teenagers to Europe for two weeks and we travelled to several countries. We were on the top floor and although there was an elevator it worked intermittently and was shut of at night when the reception closed due to "the safety of guests." This was an interesting statement which made me wonder what safety they were worried about. The building is older and the elevator matches the age of the building and perhaps would fit a maximum of three people without luggage. We decided to stay out of the elevator for our safety and walked up the stairs. Upon entering the room there are four single beds, which was perfect for us, a flat screen television, refrigerator with beverages, and wireless internet. There was a small desk, two chairs and a small table. The temperature in the room was 88 degrees (my son has a thermometer on his keychain) and we slept with the windows open during the night. There was a temperature control on the wall, but it was not operable. Upon inquiring at the reception desk we were told the heat was not adjustable. The bathroom was quite large for Europe in that it had a toilet, sink with large counter, and a step up corner bath tub with whirlpool controls. Very nice!! The only drawback was the entire bathroom was smooth glazed tile which was extremely slippery when wet. Therefore getting in and out of the tub was a hazardous experience. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but we preferred to venture into the city via tram. This hotel is VERY reasonably prices, but beware it is a good 20 minutes from the main train station via tram. Breakfast is provided at the hotel for a fee, but we left early in the morning and did not eat anything. We spoke to three hotel personnel and each and every one was helpful.
