Guest Reviews
- Margret (8/5): - The room was clean but very small with no air conditioning. The parking was limited so had to park at a nearby business. Location was very close to the ferry terminal which was convenient. Check-in staff was very helpful. Even helped carry our luggage . No elevator
- Treston (10/5): - Friendly staff, easy parking, nice room
- Mike (10/5): - Only came for one night so affordable and clean. Close to ferry and able to walk to restaurants.
- DALJIT (10/5): - Very nice and helpful staff
- Trisha (8/5): - Room was clean with a great view, staff was wonderful and went over and above, pet friendly with walking trails nearby, nice updated hotel.
- Carmel (10/5): - Really nice staff very friendly would come back again.
- Shelley (8/5): - Excellent customer service.
Standard level of cleanliness for a hotel like this. I might suggest checking and cleaning the bathroom ceiling and pipes of the bathroom as there was a strong odour in the room unless you shut the bathroom door and kept the fan going after a shower and stains and hairs on the ceiling. The bathroom renovations look fantastic otherwise.
The rooms were not super soundproof as you could hear everyone running down the hallway and the cars outside as they were single pane windows.
The internet was fantastic, bed was clean and comfy for the need. The parking was reasonable, but might want to remove the seacan to a less intrusive place but I understand renos are still occuring.
Also the batteries in the smoke alarm need to be replaced as it blinked red.
- Rita (4/5): - I had requested an accessible room, which was provided. However the parking was at the bottom of a steep driveway, not accessible. The staff assisted me and tried to reserve the closest parking space, but was not successful. I parked across the highway on the road. There was no lighting near the bed. The best lighting was over a fridge. They brought me a folding chair to use. Unsuccessful. The tv went off 3 times, likely turned off by a neighbouring room’s remote. There was no hot water in the shower after 5 mins. When I mentioned it, they checked and it was hot the next day.
The staff were friendly and pleasant. The room was poorly designed ( lighting, no armchair) Bathroom was updated but had unfinished look with unused space. Not boutique quality!
- Bonnie (10/5): - Very nice experience, the receptionist was exceptional. Towels were luxurious. Room was comfortable. The self parking was a little dicey, but safe. They are in the middle of a remodel, so I expect it to be even better if we ever come back again.
- Cody (8/5): - The room was great but the photos of the view are very misleading and the view was a very large part of the reason I got this room. Very disappointed in the view.
- Emma (4/5): - Staff was nice but the actual hotel was not well constructed I could hear every step someone took and the actual construction of the rooms seems as though it was rushed.
- Paula (10/5): - Great area to stay in the downtown and right there at the boat terminal. Had the best room with a view of the water and sunset.
Service was great. Stairs not so great lugging up suitcases. Only downfall.
- Ruth (10/5): - Marwa and the staff are very welcoming and kind.
The room was great and service was impressive.
Grateful
- qian lin (8/5): - The room smells moldy.
- Winter (10/5): - Amazing view of the ocean! Near the ferry terminal and near many restaurants. Friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out process. The suite inside was modern and very comfortable.
- Maxim (10/5): - Clean, good location, steps to ferry.
- David (10/5): - Friendly and helpful welcome. Convenient location. Quiet and clean. We were able to walk through the town and find what we wanted.
- Tyrel (10/5): - Great place to stay. Worked out perfectly for me and my crew of 4 guys.
- Meghan (10/5): - My room had an amazing view and location wise youre right by the Ferry Terminal. It wasn't too busy this time of year and a perfect stay.
Location of hotel is walkable and you can reach many restaurants, seawall, ferry terminal and shopping spots within walking distance.
- Carrie-Anne (10/5): - Excellent! Property was very clean. Our room was amazing! Clean, kitchenette, and an amazing view overlooking the water and ferry. We loved having our morning coffee and watching all the boats/people. We travelled with friends who also had their own room, and were equally impressed. It was so nice we both extended our stay an extra night. Right next to the strip of stores. Great location.
As meticulous as the property was, it’s the staff that really push this place into a 5* rating. From the front desk, ti the cleaners etc. the staff was so friendly and gracious. They actually made you feel like they truly appreciated your business. We recommend and hope to stay here again next year when we visit.
- Vern (10/5): - Pet friendly
- Janine (10/5): - I love that the property is newly renovated and that they allow us to stay with our pet. Staff is always very friendly. The street noise is a bit loud but that’s what you get for the convenient location close to the ferry. There is no elevator so if you have mobility issues let them know before so you can get a ground level room. We absolutely love the shower. Would stay here again.
- Kimberly (8/5): - It was okay. The room was basically taken over by the king sized bed there was a small closet no dresser and only one bedside table. The hotel is under renovation so it was noisy. There is zero sound proofing and you can hear everything from the rooms beside and above.
- Danita (8/5): - small room, close to ferry was good.TV very complicated to operate.
- Gord (10/5): A great stay in Powell River - I’ve never stayed here before when in Powell River because I knew it was very old and thought it would be dumpy inside; what a surprise, the staff were very helpful and it was very nicely decorated and super modern throughout the whole place. Great views and easy walking access to a variety of shops, restaurants etc.
- Alain (8/5): - The room had a very new appearance so must have been recently renovated.
Traffic noise from Marine Drive was loud beginning in early morning. This might only be an annoyance for those that like to sleep in.
Otherwise we enjoyed the hotel.
- Glenn (8/5): - Great little place. Safe and clean. Great bed and shower!! Excellent bed linens.
- Ehsan (10/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): - The Inn has been recently renovated and it shows - we LOVED the rainfall shower in our room. Service was kind and efficient (I had to make a couple slight changes after booking and it caused no issues and staff each time were lovely) and location very convenient for catching the ferry. I would 100% stay here again when visiting Powell River.
- Maria (10/5): - Very friendly staff and great location especially if you need to catch the ferry.
- Ionut (10/5): - Nice clean property
Friendly staff
- Rick (10/5): - Newly decorated and furnished
- Janine (8/5): - Nice renovated place to stay. It’s a convenient stay close to the ferry but there is lots of street noice because of the convenient location. I don’t think it has an elevator so let staff know of mobility issues when you book so you can be on ground level and not have to do the steep stairs to the second floor.
- Jackie (10/5): - The hotel is waterfront, had an amazing view! Comfortable bed, roomy for two. Would stay again.
- Yonghong (8/5): - Newly renovated property, staff are very friendly
- Jie (10/5): - Modernish
- Talbot (10/5): - Exceeded expectations. Staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. Nicely equipped and styled rooms. Great views!
- Stephen (10/5): - Nicely renovated, noisy corner suite but very clean, nice staff
- David (6/5): - Windows have to be replaced. Lots of road noise. Look as if the hotel has been redone except for the windows.
- Ronald (8/5): - There is very little parking
- Rebecca (10/5): - The staff at the Marine Inn was incredibly helpful and friendly!
- Godfrey (4/5): - Over priced, congested room, poor condition for price.
- Niranjan (8/5): - The room 201 is very noisy That’s the only issue other than that it’s fantastic
- Rick (10/5): - Staff were very accommodating
- Alan (8/5): - friendly and helpful staff
- Marina (10/5): - The staff is amazing, was clean, newly updated, older building but they did a really good job renovating it. Super close to the ferry which is very convenient. Beds are comfortable and the shower is amazing!
- Liza (10/5): - Nice room very friendly front desk
- Arsh (10/5): - nice & quiet place
- Fernando (10/5): - Staff was very friendly. The recent renovations were very well thought-out, making maximum use of the limited space in our room. The bathroom and toiletries were great, although the bathroom could have used some more shelving for personal items and some hooks on the wall, rather than just small hooks above the toilet and one hook on the door. Parking was also limited and unloading and loading the car was awkward since there is only a small pull-out at the front of the hotel. There is a vintage soda shop in the hotel that is awaiting renovation. It would be great if that was to re-open (as a soda shop) sometime soon.
- Samantha (10/5): - Very friendly staff, clean room, nice shower, comfortable bed. Breakfast / food would be a nice touch 😋
- shalena (10/5): - Clean and comfy. Loved the shower products!!
- Dan (4/5): Pig with lipstick is still a pig - Room smelt like old stale smoke, no elevator with very steep stairs to the second level. When asked if they had anything on the first floor due to a travelling partner with mobility issues I was just dismissed.
- Paul (6/5): - Everything was new and very nice, but the narrow long flight of stairs was too extreme. With no elevator in the plans I can not recommend this facility.
- Heather (10/5): - The staff are excellent. We asked for a chair in the room and they happily got one for us. The room has a lot of space however one side of the bed is against the wall making it difficult to get in and out. There is no elevator but they were able to accommodate us on the main floor. Nicely located right by the ferry terminal and they even provided ear plugs to combat the ferry traffic
- Cathie (10/5): - Room was very clean. Staff were lovely I had a great oceanview from 2nd floor room. Stairs a little steep but otherwise highly recommend as an affordable place to stay with your pet
- Marg (8/5): - Bed was very comfortable. The view amazing depending in the room you get.
- Felicia (10/5): - Comfy beds, very clean, amazing shower 😍
- Harsh (10/5): - Great place
- Rodney (8/5): - Room was fine but sbould have a chair(s), table of some kind and someplace to hang clothes. Bathroom was very good
- Kathie (8/5): - Comfortable bed, nice shower.
Noisy from the traffic. Windows were very old and are in dire need of replacement in order to cut down some noise from the road. They did supply ear plugs so they are aware. Spend some money amd upgrade!
- Sam (10/5): - The staff was so friendly and the service was prompt.
Would have liked and elevator and ice machine.
- Aaron (10/5): - Great stay! Very comfortable beds. Very clean and the rainfall shower was great! Staff were also very welcoming and friendly
- Paul (6/5): Powell River vacation - The room was small and updated. Bed and shower were good. Keurig in room, microwave and mini fridge. However there were no chairs leaving us sitting on the bed. No elevator and a long staircase to carry our suitcase, cooler ect which was difficult. There isn't enough parking we had to park off the property. No food or pool available. It is close to the downtown core and the ferry.
- Chantal (10/5): - It was a great brief stay
- Robert (8/5): - new
- Lauren (8/5): - Room had all the amenities. Staff were friendly. Location very convenient. But noise of traffic in the morning. No elevator to second floor.
- Bradley (10/5): - We had a very nice 2 tonight stay. Our check in service was exceptional. Our room was very clean and modern. Many nice dining options walkable in the area. The only suggestion as we had a kitchenet, would be a couple of folding chairs to sit on, as well as a wall coat rack in the room.
We are looking forward to returning again.
- Ainslie (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised with this property. They have done a great renovation and it is very comfortable. The location is great and not noisy at all. We had the room next to the front desk and it was totally fine. Minimal noise with people walking past had to really listen for it. Walking distance to cafes, restaurants and shops and a great board walk for a stroll in the morning right by the hotel. We would stay again.
- Yevhen (10/5): - Nice hotel for that price
- Karen (10/5): - It was very conviently located next to the ferry and had a beautiful view. The room was lovely and shower amazing.
- Allan (10/5): - Lovely property! Newly renovated…comfortable bed and awesome shower!
- Carrie (10/5): Work trip - Very lovely boutique hotel, with lovely views and great location if taking the ferry. The bed was comfy, the shower was great, and the decor is nice. If I could make a couple recommendations; use the bath mat when stepping out of the shower(slippery!) and the electrical outlets were a bit of a hide and seek situation. Would definitely book here again though!!
- JINN-CHERNG (8/5): - clean and new
- Talia (8/5): - Super cute hotel. Front staff was super nice. Within walking distance to a couple cafes and shops as well as the marina.
Rooms were clean and hotel was overall nice. Parking is ok.
My only complaint is the room being really tight, but that is out of their control. Bathroom was nicely renovated with a walk in glass shower with rainfall showerhead.
- Kevin (10/5): - We stayed for a quick rest before heading out to Desolation Sound. It was clean and convenient. The rooms are a bit snug but newly renovated and great for a short stay!
- Cate (10/5): - Newly renovated hotel in good location. Comfy bed and nice bathroom. I would stay here again
- Debra (10/5): - Was a great choice for our trip. Visiting friends at the campground. Fifteen minute walk. Room very nice. Some noise from ferry traffic but to be expected. Handy to be able to get the car into the ferry parking area early as we could not get a reservation and then just go back to our room to wait until check out. Comfy bed, great bathroom. Nice shower, big and plentiful towels. Could have used a small bistro table/chair.
- Dinesh (10/5): - The facility is a highly pleasant place to stay, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment. The front desk staff provide exceptional service, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all guests.
- Kirk (6/5): - I can see great future potential
- Douglas (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Marcia (10/5): - The room was beautiful. The towels were excellent and the young lady at the reception desk was lovely and very helpful. Everything seems very clean.
- Diane (10/5): - Very convenient for ferry to Vancouver Island
- Miriah (8/5): - Nice view !
- Robert (10/5): Nice upgrades and remodelling - Great location in central Powell River! Loved the area. Was being updated but rooms and exterior were clean and nice.
- Honeylyn (8/5): - Perfect spot. Clean and newly renovated. Just the room are not that spacious.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very welcoming and helpful staff, a clean, updated Hotel in a great location. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms / showers great. Lovely towels and partial view of ocean.
5minute walk to the wharf/ ferry and restaurants.
Only complaint was the traffic noise we could hear from the room when windows open. But we slept well and would happily stay here again.
- Sandi (8/5): The Byles trip - Hotel was under renovations
- Zack (10/5): - Customer experience
- Marina (10/5): - The Hotel is brand new, super clean and conveniently located, close to restaurants and the ferry terminal. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. I will be staying here every time I come to Powell River.
- David (6/5): - Strange check-in experience. We were given probably the worst room in the hotel. It was very small and overlooked the sidewalk about 5 feet away. We said this wasn’t what we’d paid for and the front desk person said this was the only room available. I said this was a “Bait and Switch” and that we’d find another place to stay, then expect a full refund. The front desk person quickly agreed that if she was in our position she would expect a refund too. We left and were driving to another hotel when she phoned and said “another guest had agreed to vacate their room and we could now have it”. We returned and checked into a room on the second floor overlooking the harbour. It was a small room (290 square feet) and had no chairs or table. We requested some chairs and Tahoe reluctantly said she would see what she could do. We received two folding chairs. Once these issues we resolved, the room was pretty good - the king size bed was nice and the bathroom and shower were great. The view from the room was overlooking the water and was excellent.
- Sherry (10/5): - Our room was very clean and comfortable. We requested to upgrade to a room with a view of the ocean and we’re switched over immediately. We had a beautiful view of he sunset in the evening.
Slept comfortably all night.
- Cathy (8/5): - Fabulous shower. Great location
- Wendy (10/5): - This Inn is a gem. The checkin was pleasant, the desk clerk was friendly and helpful, and they accommodated my need for a room on the first floor. The room was clean, newly updated, and all that was required for a one-night stay.
I was a bit concerned that parking is limited onsite, and I had a car full of gear I didn't want to risk. The off site parking appears to be on the street and across the road. If stairs and off site parking is an issue, contact the property. They are helpful.
- Reimar (8/5): Nice renovations - Decent renovated room. A bit noisy due to proximity to ferry. Smoke detector missing.
- Ken (10/5): - Nice hotel, with great staff. Well run!
- Tom (10/5): - Nice rooms, beautiful view and incredible staff!
- Janet (2/5): - Room 101 is not recommended
Broken window - no fresh air
Room smelled like cleaning solution
Noise was unbearable as the room is right next to the front desk.
Spoke with receptionist, accused of lying and left extremely disappointed and unrested
- Judith (8/5): - Great staff. Clean room awesome shower
- Marisa (10/5): - Great stay!
- Brian (8/5): - Water front property with nice view of the marina and ocean.
