Guest Reviews

Shower head kept falling off
- Palm (8/5): - Good location, close to the street, can walk to Wan chai MTR station Room is not for 2 guest, better for solo traveler
- Siripong (8/5): - Nice staff. Wifi is quite unstable.

- Merrall (9/5): Excellent stay in a location close to all amenities & at a reasonable price. - Excellent central location close to all amenities including shops, eateries, money changers, markets, & public transport, Hotel staff were friendly & helpful. The hotel was kept very clean & tidy. All in all a really good set up. The room was quite small but you have to realise that in central Hong Kong space is at a premium.
- Veronica (7/5): -
- Janice (7/5): Wonderful location - No breakfast Size of room
- Brahim (1/5): Double Charged for My Stay – Please Refund One Payment - I recently stayed at this hotel, but I had a very disappointing payment experience.
When I made my reservation through Booking.com, the hotel charged my bank account linked to my Booking profile for the full amount after departing.
However, when I arrived for check-in, the staff told me that they would not take the payment through Booking.com and that I needed to pay by card at the front desk. I did as instructed and paid again at check-in.
Now, I can clearly see that the hotel charged me twice — once from my bank account through Booking, and again at the reception by card.
I kindly ask the management to refund one of the payments immediately, as I should only have been charged once. I have bank proof of both transactions if needed.
Otherwise, I will have to contact Booking.com support and my bank to file a dispute for the duplicate charge.
Thank you for your quick attention to this issue.

- Lauri (6/5): - This was propably my 10th stay in the Mingle. I love the location of it and the small rooms have become pretty much essential part of my trips to HK. I usually stay at the Park and by previous experiences I thought the Star is more luxurious. But no. This was actually the worst room I´ve had during my visits. So many small defects that overall feeling was very run-down. The AC blows ice-cold air straight to the bed when trying to sleep. Not very comfortable.
- Billy (6/5): - Very noisy once the people walking, talking in the room lift lobby & lack of maintenance inside the room, so the image most likely dirty.
- Yu-hua (7/5): Good -
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Amar (8/5): Very good -
- Owen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Chinghua (8/5): Good! - Generally we are satisfying with staying in this hotel for the services while staffs are very friendly.
- Bryan (3/5): Poor -
- Gonzales (1/5): Bad -
- Alvin Chris (10/5): - Excellent
- Bonga (6/5): Good hotel for quick stay - The location is perfect, easy to move around Hong-Kong. Lots of restaurants around and shops. Room was clean, The room was small this is normal in HK but it was clean and the bed a little small!
- Cesar (10/5): The one - The location and the good servicie of the staff As a Hong Kong property it is very small room but it is not a problem at all
- Alexis (2/5): - No heart no air cool Room . Bathroom can’t go in . I have sick in Room
- Petros (8/5): Very good - It was ok for 2 days and it was clean and quiet. Can't complain for anything except the size of the rooms Room is extremely small and the beds short. But for a day or 2 it's OK.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francesco (7/5): Good - The location is right at the center, close by the metro station and the market. The room was rather small, we did not know where to store our luggage.
- Madalena (5/5): If you’re short, take some hear plugs and sleep mask and maybe it’ll be fine. - Nice location. It was very noisy, which unfortunately impacted our sleep significantly. We had a terrible night, and this greatly undermined our hotel experience because the main thing someone wants from a hotel is rest. We were on the 8th floor and could hear everything happening on the street, waking us up constantly. Additionally, the bed was very small in terms of length. We understand that with this price range in HK, we are getting small rooms and small beds, but at 1.6m tall, my feet were at the limit of the bed or over it which I just don’t think is acceptable.
- Bonga (7/5): Good stay and I recommend this hotel to otehr travellers. - The location is convenient, not far from the bus and metro station. The hotel is close to many restaurant including a Mac donald. Banks are around also. The hotel is clean and the staff is warm and supportive. Rooms are very small. But beds are ok.
- Melvin (9/5): Superb - Great location close to bus taxi and train
- Loregyn (9/5): Superb -
- Anan (8/5): Very good - Good location. The doors are pretty thin. You can hear people opening and closing doors pretty clearly.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- W6178QBjeremyg (2/5): Best place to ruin your trip in hong kong - If you value basic human decency and comfort, avoid this "hotel" at all costs. The receptionist was unprofessional and aggressive when demanding me to pay the full price at the reception (since you only make a reserved payment beforehand). The room itself was appalling as it was filthy and poorly maintained. There were hairs scattered in the bathroom, stains on the walls, and parts of the wall literally falling off. Moreover, the room offered little to no noise isolation as you could hear neighbors and people walking up and down. Staying here feels like willingly subjecting yourself to discomfort and frustration. Unless you enjoy terrible service, unhygienic conditions, and sleepless nights, avoid this hole. It’s not worth your time nor money.
- Eden (1/5): Bad - I had bugs in my bed... Litteral bugs in my bed, stains on the sheets and walls.
- Susan (8/5): A very pleasant stay and the location of it meant that access to all transport was easy and frequent. - Comfortable bed and great tv system. The outside terrace was a nice facility and the staff were very helpful and attentive. Although there was a microwave for communal use, there were no plates or cutlery.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great value for money !!! - I think overall it was value for the amount of money. HK can be expensive this was in a great location, sure the building on outside was ran down alitte, the shower was small the bed was a little harder than I liked but overall I think it offers great value
The staff were friendly the aircon was great
The rooms were cleaned and location great
- Daniel (5/5): Average - Location Room was not cleaned properly
- Mei (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alice (6/5): Fine for solo traveller ! - It was more spacious than other hotels on the island for the price and that’s why I chose it. Comfortable bed and good TV that connected to my Netflix etc. Good air con and great flow from the shower. I quite liked the light system when you could turn on different lights in parts of the room using a control panel and also signal if you wanted the room cleaned or were occupying the room/ on private. The woman on reception helped me with lots of advice and suggestions too. Really close to MTR, bus and tram stops, supermarkets and some bars and restaurants plus hospital. Can feel a bit of a dodgy area compared to ten minutes back towards central, soho etc which is where I ended up going more for dinner etc. It didn’t feel very clean: there was dark hair on the bathroom floor from the previous guests and it just looked a little dated. Although they came and changed towels and cleaned every two days when I set my switch to ‘clean’. Bit of confusion as to why I wasn’t given any water etc which is usually provided. When I was leaving, the woman said there was a minibar in the room but it must have been so well hidden or something because I didn’t find it all and I was there for 5 days! It’s an ok hotel if you’re there to sightsee and not spend much time in the room. Perfect for me on my own but maybe a bit squashed for two people.
- Abdullah (5/5): just ok - location hotel is expensive compare to the facility. this hotel should be at least 30-35% cheaper.
- Winnie (1/5): Bad - False alarm twice and the room key didn’t work.
- Peter (8/5): Enjoyable stay in Wan Chai - Considering the price range and prime location in the heart of Hong Kong island the room was surprisingly large. Has even a small closet with enough hangers. Helpful staff, a bathroom with a separate shower and quality bed linen. Daily cleaning. One of the quietest air conditioning I can remember and very efficient. Hotel is in the busy part of Wan Chai, but good insulation, no noise in the room at night. Excellent location 400m to Wan Chai subway station, bus stops and Dingdong tram even closer. The hotel is surrounded by many shops and restaurants. The bed was quite short, light switches very small and difficult to read. Hotel entrance very unassuming, difficult to notice, directly from the street almost like to a store, opening the front door at the push of a button. The attractive outdoor terrace on the 7th floor with a nice view of Wan Chai deserves more care.
- Sherwin (7/5): Good -
- aaron (10/5): - The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I thought the room was small but the service and attentiveness was much bigger. I would certainly return.
- Carlos (6/5): Pleasant -
- Grant (7/5): I always enjoy my stay at Mingle - The staff are generally very nice. I like the location. Even the cleaning staff are very nice. The internet could be faster.
- Graham (8/5): Very good -
- Ariuntungalag (7/5): Good - Location was great Too small room for high price!
- 雅芝 (9/5): Superb - Food and shopping options are pretty wide, and convenient store close by. we had elderly and luggage, luckily they had elevator from main lobby to first floor to use. shower was nice and warm, room had a mini fridge with a desk. very comforty. didn't try the wifi but do know that every room had free wifi(liked that we can use youtube on the tv)
this might just be me but the desk was right in front of the fridge so it was hard to access, what was awesome is the desk could be converted to a longer table(turning it a bit to have better access to the fridge. we had to take a taxi to drop us off, the drop off side is pretty dangerous with the railing we couldn't get pass until the traffic light area. maybe it's just my room but I find the shower area a bit small.
- Nigel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Quint (7/5): Good -
- Zhihao (4/5): if its above 300 hkd, not recommended. - the location was in downtown of Wanchai, so the pedestrians are so many and streets are narrow. If you are carrying a luggage not easy to reach. Don't book the 118 sqt room cause the efficient space is way smaller than you think, corridales takes too many space. Besides, the drawer in the wall is hidden and blocked by desk so another space wasted.
Plus, you have to pay for each single bottled drinks in the minibar, not cheap.
- Johanna (8/5): Very good -
- Ana (1/5): Bad - No hot water in room, smells on mold and mildew, too small, dirty, rude staff, double charged me for the room
- Matt (5/5): Passable -
- W**** (8/5): Very good -
- Jo (5/5): Hotel felt a bit run down, rooms very dated and shabby with worn linens - Good location for what I needed Room was very dated and shabby
- Hing (4/5): Not an enjoyable stay this time. Disappointing for a repeat customer. Staff could be more friendly - Room is clean. The multimedia facilities is a plus! Aircon is not cooling effectively. Water coming out from the fridge. Ventilation fan in the bathroom is not working. All this made the room very humid and uncomfortable.
- Stephen (8/5): - The staff and location were beyond reproach. The only complaint I have is the shower facilities were a bit snug, but I am above average in height and overall size.
When I visit HK again I plan to stay at Mingle!
- Eduardo Enrique (10/5): - Great value for your money.
- Matthieu (8/5): Nice hotel; - Nice hotel;
- Jb (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (7/5): Good -
- Grant (7/5): Mingle is good value for money. - The internet was unreliable. The internet has been better in my past stays. I like the location. I would recommend this hotel as it is value for money. Sometimes the internet was slow and unreliable.
- Lucy (5/5): Overall was ok . Accept those mention above . - The front desk was helpful & nice . Bed was comfortable. The towels & bed linen are clean. The amenities are good . Would be better if the size bigger . The room smell musty. The aircon was dusty . The sink too small. The phone not working. They fixed it next day . The refrigerator became freezer & 2 bottles water & 2 can of cokes became frozen . The Can of coke exploded inside . The housekeeper was rude.
- Cheng (1/5): Bad -
- Milagros (10/5): Verygood hotel and super clean.. - Very convenient
- Margarita (10/5): Exceptional - We liked everything in the hotel. We got more than we expected. That is also true for the room space. There was enough space for everything, for comfortable stay. Shower gel and shampoo, tea and coffee were given everyday. Very comfortable room. Although our room looked at the street we slept very well. Well-equipped. There are microwaves in the common room on the first floor. No noise from neighbors. Very clean, no insects. I was double charged (400 HKD + 600 HKD) and it will be returned only in ~ 30 days. The host firstly didn’t believe that I was charged twice and said that there was only one operation. But then they admitted that there were two. That is not a big problem, but was rather stressful.
- Michael (8/5): - very comfortable stay. building is old but the room feels modern and clean. room is still on small side and shower space is really compact with the curtains. you can hear the shower/water sounds from adjacent unit. location is wonderful, however. plenty of food places and shopping within 5-10 min walk nestled between wan chai/causeway bay. mtr/buses also nearby. staff is nice and helpful.
- Steven (6/5): Okay, certainly not anything special. - Location was convenient, room was very cramped but comfortable enough. The staff were unhelpful with and uninformed. Entrance was difficult to negotiate with a flight of steps up to the elevator.
- Titus (3/5): Poor - The staff, especially the young woman who checked me in, she barely spoke up and had an attitude, didn’t really explain anything, very rude
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not for obese people. - If you're fat, you're going to struggle staying here. Then again, if you're fat, you're going to struggle anywhere in Asia. The shower was so small that, if you weigh more than 190lbs, you're going to struggle. Thankfully I have not hit that yet, but I'm getting close.
Also, one of the other guests decided to smoke in a non-smoking hotel, which you could smell in the shower.
The room itself was alright. It's a $50/night in HK, so you can't expect too much. Private bathroom, small desk, had a window that was frosted and unusable. No fridge and the wifi was ok.
Pretty close to some food, fairly close to the MRT/MTR/Metro.
- Nathan (8/5): Very good - Location and good public transport close by and plenty of places to eat with a reange of food and prices within walking distance. Rooms are small but clean and quiet so a good base to explore the Island. Staff helpful and booked taxi for return to airport for us. Room was as expected being small but was clean...
- Mateusz (7/5): Good - Location. Close to the metro station, buses, restaurants and a ferry. Served very well as a starting point to see the city. Room was big enough, bed comfortable. Everyday cleaning. Thin walls (take ear plugs) you could not see enything through the widows nor open them, small shower area and broken handshower. And no fridge.
- Kenneth (10/5): Staffs are very helpful - Excellent Nothing
- Mohitlal (7/5): Overall so so - Location Rate in comparison to hotel category
- Secreter (5/5): Passable -
- Csaba (5/5): Passable -
- Doan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (7/5): Great value for a 3 star tiny room in great location - It is a tiny new york style tiny room but good value. Get ready for small.....a solid clean well-run 3 star stay in a great location in downtown Hong Kong. But don't expect a 4 star or 5 star experience. Great value for a 3 star tiny tiny butvsafe and clean place to stay. They could do a better job helping older people how to use transportation and how to get to places. Their help stops at their door. But they are good people.
- Lulu (8/5): Great mingle - Clean room, good location, STAFF friendly, complite fasility Nothing
- Bernard (8/5): Great location to stay in Wan Chai area - Convenient location. Walking distance to Wan Chai MTR and HK convention centre. Room is clean Small bathroom especially the shower area. Noise from traffic as windows are not insulated.
