The whole area is so peaceful, and the cabin itself was beautiful and well-designed on the inside, with all the amenities we needed. The heating worked especially well (it was chilly out). The trails all around the property were great for walking the dog and getting some fresh air before going skiing, and Mammoth Mountain is only 15-20 min away.

- Daniel (6/5): Convict Lake Resort - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Convict Lake Resort. The lake, just a 5-minute walk from the cabin, is stunning, and the cabin itself was well-thought-out, clean, charming, and perfectly fitting for the setting. While the resort's ambiance and accommodations were excellent, the communication and customer service during check-in left much to be desired. When things are running smoothly, communication is fine, but when issues arise, the staff's response seems less than helpful. For example, upon arrival, I was told by a staff member that check-in would be between 2:00 and 2:30. When I returned at that time, I was informed that the room was not ready due to cleaning delays. Rather than providing any proactive solutions or updates, the staff simply told me to "come back later" with no additional assistance or accommodation offered. I returned again at 3:00 only to receive the same response. When I asked if there was anything they could offer while I waited, they just stared at their phones and gave no real answers. While the cabin's cleanliness and the site's natural beauty are highlights, the lack of customer service during the check-in process is worth noting. A little more attentiveness and proactive communication from the staff would go a long way in enhancing the overall experience.

But unfortunately Management, while managing maids tightly, let's maintenance guys run on loud tractors go wild. 6 nights, 6 mornings and afternoons on noisy tractors, mostly they don't even turn the engines off. Completely not needed. They floor them like ATV's. Drive full speed on dirt roads right in front of your cabin. Dust in gold that walk, dust everywhere. Pollution and noise. Maids all drive golf carts. Are nice and quiet. Not so the guys. Seems unfair. They just let their male staff do what they want. They are always booked out, so they don't care. Suggest you book somewhere else. Disappointing Management. Noticed it last time we were there too. Nothing changed. No respect.for their guests.

- Kelly (6/5): Beautiful location - Beautiful location and cute cabins. But no AC in our cabin lone pine. It got up to 89 in our cabin! Very uncomfortable. They could not find an ac unit even though other cabins all had one. They brought us fans which didn’t help much at all. I think this should have been communicated or taken care of before we rented this cabin. No discount or anything was given for two nights of intense heat.

- Sean (10/5): - Overall, it is a satisfying experience staying at Convict Lake resort. Quiet and you have privacy in a cabinet that is distant from others. With about 2 feet of snow, kids enjoy sledding just at the backyard. Probably due to lack of staff, there are some rooms for improvements regarding the cleanness. You can find socks and other stuff from previous guests under the beds, hairs in the bathroom.

- Sachin (6/5): Poor check-in experience - It was awful check-in experience. We got there at 11pm PST last night and no one was there as they close office at 5. They sent me a text message to confirm my visit. I was In Yosemite and was out of network so couldn’t get the text until I reached at Mammoth but the network was very weak. I couldn’t access the link they sent along with the text. I had to spent 2 hours around the resort to find someone or to call someone. If they have this standard process of asking us to register via text then they should have mentioned on the property details.

- John (10/5): A fun family trip - We stayed here for a family reunion. Our group booked several cabins of different sizes, so we had a nice combination of spaces for group gatherings and privacy for sleeping--a nice feature since we ranged in age from two to eighty years. The facilities are beautifully maontained. The restaurant is truly amazing.

- Anthony (4/5): - Water supply was completely shut off in the middle of the night. Water supply suddenly stopped in the middle of showering, that was the most terrible experience. No water to flush the toilet, we couldn't use the bathroom as well. Called the emergency number over 10 times at mid-night, call center staff only recorded our request, no status update, no response, and no action to fix the issue. No on-site staff to look into the problem. Problem was eventually fixed the next day. Equipment failures sometime happen, hotel management should have a good communication channel for customers to get help, but this hotel failed completely in this area. Other than that, the resort environment is good. Areas are clean and well maintained. Cabin condition is good, looks like newly built structure. Our stay could have been excellent if there were no water equipment failure.

- Lonney (10/5): - The cabin was everything we anticipated and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern. The resort is 20 minutes from Main Lodge and worth it. We’ll be back.

While I was able to get there because I have a great car for snow, a Tesla Model Y, I would not recommend this to most people.

- Katrina (10/5): A quiet cabin away from the hustle of Mammoth - We chose Convict Lake Resort as a peaceful alternative to staying with the crowds in town. It is in an extremely beautiful setting with the lake and tall mountains. The cabin itself was nice and had all the amenities we needed. The layout was perfect for two adults and a child - one king bed and one twin bed. The kitchen was definitely useful with coffee pods and a full size fridge. We will definitely stay here again!

Although the thermostat is set to 65F, the cabin felt quite cold all the time. 4. The store hours are too short, by the time you finish your day activities and come back, the store would have closed.

They run by the motto of do whatever it takes to make the customers happy and they come through in every way they can. All the comforts of home, and the scenery was breathtaking. Took our 2 dogs, and they had a great time also. Can't wait to go back in the fall, to see the Aspens in their full glory.

The staff are friendly, and they provided us with everything we needed. The cabin is fairly clean, and it provided a “homey” atmosphere. A recommendation we have for them is to install grab bars in the bathroom. Otherwise, we will definitely come back soon!!! (P.S. your dog will love it here! Our’s did)
- Anthony (10/5): Pet Lovers Dream Spot - This cabin was located in a beautiful location about 15 minutes from the slopes. Private, clean, and super dog friendly! Our pups were comfortable all day while we were snowboarding. Since these are individual cabins, there was no one next to us to complain about any barking, etc. Since there’s no daily housekeeping, you also don’t have to crate your pups when you’re on the mountain.

- Jeanne (10/5): Steel Head Cabin - Convict Lake Resort. - A beautiful complex. The only thing that would make it better would have been the air quality due to the fires in northern California. We reserved the Steeelhead Cabin through Hotels.com, which had the cabin listed as a Queen Bed Cabin. It is only a double bed, with one side pushed up against the wall. The Cabin is recently remodeld. However, we would have hoped to have had the Queen Bed stated in the description. Not the resorts fault. We ate dinner one night at the Resort Restaurant which was better than excellent in all respects. Worth the splurge! Walk to Convict Lake, and we saw several fisherman while we were there.

Also, an unexpected treat, was the restaurant there was AMAZING. We had planned on cooking a little, but didn't. We ate dinner there each night. The chef is amazing, but he must have hired a great staff as well. The waiters and waitresses were all so great -- you could tell that they enjoy working there and working with each other. We are already making plans to return in a couple months.
