Guest Reviews
- Carlos (2/5): Room had 3 live roaches in the bathroom. - Unfortunately, even though the gentleman at the front desk was polite, the check-in experience was terrible. The system was not working and he had to get the manager. They finally got me checked in and asked me to sign a receipt, for $80 even though I showed that I had pre-paid for the stay online and was able to use a credit and only paid sixty-something. They said that the receipt was for Hotels.com and not another charge. As it was late and I was tired, I signed. Shortly after getting to my room, I went to the bath room and found three live cockroaches walking around the bathroom sink and shower. I immediately killed them, then proceeded to pack my bags and check-out. I'm not pretentious at all and understand that motels are usually cheaper for a reason. But, I draw the line at having live roaches in the room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff was helpful but the room had broken glass from the wall around the hot tub and the hot tub didn’t work
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I didn't like the bed it was too hard, funny colored slime came out of the hot tub, black mold all around the base of the walls, my wife is now sick, and there was bgs under the pillows
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Took the lady almost a half hour to check us in. TV doesnt work. The rugs are nasty and the shower doesnt work at sll.
- GARY (8/5): Yes ok - Had a wedding up here
Place was clean the room was aged would stay again
Fair price
- Marcyanne (8/5): - Not a bad place to stay. Desk clerk was helpful. Easy to get to.
- Joseph (6/5): - Jacuzzi needs jet repair. NO COFFEE in the office or in the room is a bit sad. Sidewalks around the motel need repair for safety. Thanks.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Need a New TV Service get FIOS - It was alright. They need a different TV service.
- Bobbi-Jo (6/5): - The overall experience wasn’t bad. Staff was very friendly. But the website advertised they had vending machines, they actually do not. The lights in the room barely worked. Tv reception sucked. Our tv went out in us many times. The WiFi was non existent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet peaceful loved it will recommend to anyone in the Branford area
- Kathleen (2/5): - Where to begin, filthy.. And I mean filthy, from the dirty toilet to the black carpets.. No real towels they provide a king bed room with two oversized hand towels... Terrible, don’t bring a family here no matter what
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Thankfully no bed bugs. Initial room light wasn't working, but the lamps were bright enough. Also the shower was set to full burst, so it was uncomfortable to shower sensitive areas.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - the place is dirty, inconsiderate to the fact I am handicapped and still would only give me a room on second floor which was very difficult for me to get up steps room is dirty and door does not have a lock only chain the door was damaged before, it was too late for me to change places and I would have lost my payment terrible place
- James (2/5): No laundry and no service but lots of dust - I chose this hotel as I needed to do my laundry and it listed laundry but alas no. The guy on reception didn't give two hoots that I had a load of clothes that needed washing. Then there was the room. Dusty. When u turned on the heater it blew a cloud of dust up into the air. Obviously hadnt been cleaned in a while. Thin walls. Not happy
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Property needs a lot of maintenance. Everyone that works there is very rude.
- MA (6/5): Ehhhhh it was ok - Ok
- Verified traveler (2/5): - pooor customer service and rude made stay unpleasant
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Let me say, you get what you pay for. The room appears clean smelled horrible had to go up and get odium and freshener, smelled like a cat lady lived here for years. Cigarette burns in the bedspread. Gave me a room as far away from my car as possible and during a snow storm. Wind kept blowing the door had to use chair to keep it from shifting had to put one of the towels to block the wind on the floor.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The tub was very nice and the room is a good size.
the only neg thing is I wanted to stay another night so I had to go back on line to add another night the they wanted me to fill out paper work again. its like just add another night!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room had a very nice hot tub
and a fridge and very good size room
- jj (2/5): - I checked in on October 12, 2018 in early afternoon, I made the reservation with Expedia in September 9, 2018 for my Grandsons birthday Oct. 12 weekend. They told me at the desk they only had one room available and it was small. I said that was fine, only to find it not very clean, bathroom toilet in various colors not one color, I left my luggage and went with family to dinner with grandchild. Came back that night to find a couple in my room, that the motel rented while I was away. I am handicapped and elderly and felt very unsafe in this motel at that time. These people took my luggage out of the room and left it in the desk area. what a nightmare, my son in law told them we wanted a refund and was going somewhere else due to my feeling unsafe at this time. I would never stay there again!!
- Kady (6/5): - Stayed here because it was cheaper and one of the only locations with availability//worked for what i needed it for, a place to sleep. Unfortunately there were other guests clothing still under the bathroom sink, and hair on the towels in the bathroom, which was concerning, the Bed sheets appeared to be clean though.
- Verified traveler (2/5): WORST CONDITION, ZERO HYGIENE - The worst experience ever. The staff was not supportive. I checked into my room and it had a kind of weird smell. I went to open the windows and there were so many flies inside the room breeding near the window. The bathtub which was supposed to be clean already had a lot of hair. The room I booked had an in room jacuzzi really big but dirty. I thought to clean it and prepare it for the night but the moment I turned on the water and as it started draining the room was filled with sewer like smell. I was so pissed off at the moment that I didn't want to spend another moment there. I went to the front desk and told them to check me out. They said we cannot refund your money because you have already checked in. HOW I AM SUPPOSED TO KNOW ABOUT THE HYGIENE OF A PLACE WITHOUT CHECKIN IN?????
They offered me to look into another room but my point is if that is the same staff looking after all the rooms then how can the conditions be any better. They never refunded me the money and I just checked into another hotel nearby which was wonderful.
If you are reading this, I recommend you to don't book this motel. There are really nice hotels around in the same price. My recommendation is that you go for Baymont by Wyndham which is really nice and very close.
- PAULETTE (2/5): please dont ever stay here - this is the worst hotel I ever stayed at the room was smelly no hot water the receptionist does not speak good English not much light in room not enough amenities bathroom smell of urine
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I need to change the rugs also new bedspreads cuz half of them are burnt with cigarettes floor is dirty bathroom is dirty the tub needs to be clean with Clorox
- ANDY (2/5): - Please take not of peoples ratings. This was the most run down and gross motel i have ever stayed at. First of all i walk in room its suppose to be non smoking and smells like ashtray, carpet must be 40 years old brown cigarette burns, stains and just smells awful, air conditioner smelled like someone pissed in it. There was a heart tub in the corner that was not a functioning unit. Above the non functioning tub it said on the wood part (KIM DIED HERE) AGAIN PLEASE READ RATINGS
- Monica (2/5): - Toilet ran all night... when I called the front desk they told me no one could help me
- Deanna (8/5): Great deal! - Great deal. We have stayed here several times. Always clean, quiet and convenient. Would appreciate an extra blanket as a.c. can be cold.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not again... - It was dingy... and had stains all over the carpet, broken mirrors, worn out arm chairs, and bathroom was horrible...
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful hot tub
- Whitney (2/5): - The rooms are horrible there are broken walls the hot tub is filthy and all the furniture in here is old from a 1970s vintage porn movie. Not to mention my fiancé slipped and fell in the hot tub disgusting I should have my money refunded it so nasty I don’t know how this place is still open
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Its a cool spot , room clean , staff is nice
Low key spot
- Verified traveler (2/5): - In my 67 years of world travel, this is the WORST place I've ever stayed.
The shower valve was broken and only released cold water so I took a sponge bath in the jacuzzi which was covered with leperous sores where the coating was peeling off.
There were hairs on the towels and the toilet rim.
The drop ceiling panel was askew, revealing that the vent fan was not connected.
The room was lit by a single 25 watt bulb on the ceiling. The were no reading lamps or outlets on the bed wall.
Soiled bed linen.
The smoke detector chirped every 30 seconds all night long and could not be disabled.
Worst of all, "jacuzzi rooms" permit smoking, a fact not indicated anywhere. Your website listed all other rooms as booked, even though the motel was not full. They refused to let me change to a non-smoking room.
When I attempted to enter tha room on the second night, I found they had let it to another party and denied I was even a guest despite my having their room key and receipt in my hand.
I would have thought you vetted better than this.
I have photos documenting these failures if you require.
A response would not only be appreciated but under the circumstances is, I feel, required.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Asked for late checkout . They refused to consider even 11:30 . Being tired from the road , I asked again . No help , no apology .
Inflexible , unhelpful .
- Verified traveler (6/5): Branford Motel, Branford CT. - Stayed here a night due to car trouble. Absolutely got what I paid for. Was really only disappointed at the room not being totally clean. The bathroom lacked attention to details (too many hairs on my towels)
- Verified traveler (2/5): Won’t comeback - It already 4am and this place are so noisy all day I can’t even fall a sleep
- Daichanel (10/5): - the hotel was nice, check in didn't take long and the staff were nice, they just need to update things like the toilet and the shower head and clean the tub better other then that it was nice
- Burney (8/5): Nice price - Sleep right through it . the 📺 channel are different
- Luz (2/5): I give it poor stay - The room I requested and paid for wasn’t available
- Verified traveler (4/5): I thought I was getting a nice hotel ,for a good $ - The room was dirty, we had a red hat shaped dirty hot tub with no piping, you couldn't pay me to get into. Just the front desk guy was nice. Way too expensive for what I got and I thought I was getting a deal
Michele Vail
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I was not happy, bad service bad room false advertisement it says king bed but it wasn’t king size
- Verified traveler (2/5): Used Condom in jacuzzi - I walked into the room.. booked it for my fiances bday but when I looked in the jacuzzi there was a used condom. Told me I couldnt get my money back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Only issue, light broken over hot tub. Good for the price though. And easy check in with expedia.
- Linda (6/5): Wanted a hot tub - Had to change rooms heat wasn't working, then icebox wasn't working in other room
- Robert (6/5): - The stay at Bradford motel was very nice the room was very clean and roomy.
- Mrs. (2/5): PAID FOR TWO NIGHTS...STAYED ONE. - I like to think that I have a high tolerance for any condition, but this place was beyond terrible. There was one person at the front desk when we arrived. Not friendly, and there was a bit of a language barrier. Gave us 2 keys, which one did not work. The room was disgusting. To the point where I sprayed it down with disinfectant, and wouldn't put our bags on the floor. There were holes in the walls, and broken mirrors in the room, which mended back together with black electric tape. It reminded us of something out of the movie Scarface...after he shot up the place. Cigarette burns all over the dirty floor. Did not look like it had ever been vacuumed. Hair on the pillow cases and on the sheets. My husband and I slept fully clothed, with our hoodies and shoes on, on top of the comforter. I knew it was going to be bad, but not THAT bad. We only rented this hotel because our trip was last minute, and there was nothing else available. One positive...the movie Ride Along was on (starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube). Paid for 2 nights, stayed for 1. NEVER again.
- Joseph (10/5): - Quiet. Very clean. Good price.....ALL GOOD
- James (2/5): This place sucked!!!! - Dirty rooms all the hot tubs don't work and are very nasty looking. Staff at front desk are rude and it was very nosiey all night with peoe and dogs I would never recommend Branford hotel to anyone
- cathy (4/5): Very disappointing - Good price, but zero amenities, no hair dryer, no closet!,no full size towels, filthy carpet.
I discussed with Orbitz, customer service was excellent.
- Christian (10/5): Loved it! - The motel was actually nice. Very comfortable and affordable I will definitely book this motel again!
- Felix (4/5): - Room was dirty sheets on the bed never changed towels were dirty
- Verified traveler (2/5): Nightmare that really happened - My ratings speak for itself. My ratings speak for itself. My ratings speak for itself. My ratings speak for itself.
- Laura (4/5): - We found a dirty washcloth in the bathtub so did not want to use the shower.
- Christine (2/5): THIS PLACE IS A DUMP - First of all, we specifically rented this hotel due to the jacuzzi tub. 3 of the 6 jets did not work, tiles were cracked, and very slipery. There was no remote control for the TV so we would have to walk clear across the room to change channel or turn on or off. The only nice thing about this room was the size. No coffee in the room, no blow dryer, no amenities. Half of the lights did not work. The air conditioner did not work either. It was sweltering hot in the room and too noisy outside to open a window. Looked to be a place where people stay when they get kicked out of their homes. The staff was ok, nothing great. Grounds also were not taken care of. Only received one key card also.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Condition of the room was terrible. I asked them to change the room. After that I was put somewhere relatively OK.
- Carlos (10/5): Never judge a book by a cover - At first I was cracking jokes on the door for not having an actual number label they just drew the number of the room on the door lol funny right but when we opened up that door that room is amazing !
- John (2/5): Don't ask for Mike!! - My stay was horrible! My room was full of bugs and the customer service was poor. Mike was the worst of all he treated me with no respect, talked down to me and laughed in my face when I asked about how to earn a discount. I will never stay there again I've never been treated so poorly.
- christal h (10/5): Very nice and the people are so nice there - It was beautiful and I would be back there soon and the people that work there which was Mike and Sam were so nice to us and made are stay very comfortable. My time there was very nice and store on the premises was a oil and had so many restaurants around them including a grocery store.
- Cheryl (2/5): Horrible - Filthy
- Verified traveler (6/5): not the best value for the price... - Attendant was curtious and swift. However, although they have made an attempt to update the location since my last stay there, there is still care needed. The tiles around the Jacuzzi were falling off, the toilet tank did not get water(had to use the trash can for water) and the bench in the room had stains on it.
- j (2/5): Disgusting and weird - Strange place and some rooms seem to stay busy all night; even police drive through from time to time.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Crappy place - Unfortunately I have to say I've stayed here a bunch for business trips due to cheap pricing but thank god I found cheaper. The staff are very uncompliant towards customer requests. They have rooms that are most certainly out of health code, and plenty of safety issues including rooms you can literally walk into because the doors don't lock in any way. The overnight guy is nothing but rude. Wifi might as well not exist on the despcriotion of the motel. Half the lights in the rooms don't work, the comfortors have burn holes in them. I forgot to mention the cleaning ladies that knock on every single door at 9 in the morning demanding you check out. I won't give this place my money ever again I don't advise anybody else does either
- Candace (10/5): - The room was very nice, and we enjoyed the hot tub. The staff was friendly and overall our stay was great.
- Alexandrina (10/5): Stay here you'll love it - The Best hotel for the price in connecticut
- Alexandrina (10/5): Great room - Great value Mike the owner was First class Professsional
- Luis A. (10/5): Bradford's Ct best kept secret!!! - Very clean, very quiet..the best of customer service.it is a five star hotel.. don't forget to visit the store at the hotel you don't have to drive for a hot/ cold sandwich, or coffee ,cigs, lotto everything to make your stay perfect.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not for travelers - Dirty no clean towels or room people in room last night staff and Managemt lost and disconnected
- Laura (2/5): - Very loud arguing in another room. Room smelled moldy. We stayed two nights. No housekeeping. No clean towels
- Liz (2/5): Awful place. Don't do it. - This place is awful. There isn't even a table lamp. But, it was clean, surprisingly. I met a cop coming out as I loaded into my room, he mumbled something. I should have left. The stay was actually uneventful, surprisingly. But, next time, I'll pay the extra $ and stay at the nearby Baymont Inn. This place was disgusting. The shower was pretty good though.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not recomended at all - it was a not nice one, this is not a family friendly hotel, you can tell as the first thing you encounter when turning the tv on was inappropriate programming, then this motel was used as a hotel for going have action and leave, the noises of that actions were really uncomfortable, and this was at any time in the day, not to mention how bad was at night, this is definitely not a good hotel for families with kids.
- Thomas (8/5): - Last minute change of plans had me scrambling to change some of my reservations. Hotel staff was extremely gracious in working with me to change things around!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was awful! Room was falling apart literally. I asked for non smoking and apparently none of the rooms are non-smoking. I had to spray a whole bottle of febreeze. The Tv was the only decent thing in there. Therewas a chair with no legs and ripped. The ceiling tiles were all meesed up. Night tables were broken. For 70 a night I've gotten beautiful rooms. Definitely not worth it. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - King sized bed very comfitable. Door and frame looked liked it had broken down by battering ram. Chair in room had missing front legs so leaned at a foward angle. Not possible to sit in. Not sure why it was not just thrown away. Very large room and it served it's purpose. Very late check in was convenient 2am. I would use again in spite of above.
- Victor (2/5): - Bad smell from jacuzzi no pillows no cable tv
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not good - Location wasn't too bad. It was quiet, parking was very convenient but the room was still under construction so it was incomplete. It smelled moldy, there are spiders. The bathroom looks moldy, toilet was clogged and I found a needle stuck in the side of the sink. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone and I will not be revisiting.
- Bud (2/5): 0 - Stars - Arrived at 1:00 am and asked about the option of late checkout. The answer was "NO". well, I asked for non smoking room. got room 407. smells like hell. Floor not clean, was not even vacuumed. 3" hole in the bathroom door. 2" hole in the drywall behind the entry door (A door stopper would have helpped...). Paint is pealing from entry door. The A/C unit has black dots on the exterior cover, look like mildew. Walked back to the office. I showed the office person some photos and all he said is that he can give us another room (Not in this lifetime). we cordially refused and he in a non cordial manner said "No refunds". We slept under a bridge near a shipyard,,, it was great (smelled better and was cleaner,,,,)
