Guest Reviews
- Mari (2/5): Just horrible - Really horrible place, smelly and untidy. Could not recommend to anyone. Don't go there.
- adrian (4/5): Below expectation ought to have shuttle service - Not what expected very disappointed by owner not staff
- Ammar (2/5): Worst hotel staff ever - I booked a room for two nights when I arrived exhausted after a long travel and after roaming around the location tryig to fin the hotel, with a stupid face the receptionist simply says we don't have empty rooms. No apology no sorry nothing. Piece of advice DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL.
- Av (8/5): Good hotel and great value - We had two stays at hotel toronto and both were very good.
We were upgraded to the family room which was quite nice and the staff were very accomodating and friendly with any questions. The room itself was quite clean and the rooms service also quite great.
No complaints.
The locations is good and just off the main street in Pharganj but can be a little tricky to find at first.
Overall a great stay at a reasonable price, would come back here.
- ZABI (8/5): - We stayed for few days at this location. The guys at front desk were very helpful. They guided us about few location and sightseeing in Delhi that we weren't aware of. The morning breakfast was good and rooms were tidy and neat.
- great hotel (10/5): excellent staff and hotel - excellent
- RESHMA (2/5): A nightmare!!! Never stay there! - This is the worst hotel ever. When we arrived there after a 30 hour journey they told us the hotel was full while we had paid in full in advanced.
Then they offered us another hotel without informing us that it woukd be for 1 night only. When I heard after the first night that we had to shift again and that to a horrible hotel I called hotels.com to refund the rest of our stay.
They promised to do so but after 2 weeks no trace of the money. This is sooo bad I cannot believe it. Now I have to chase hotels.com to get our money back, unbelievable.
Never ever stay at Toronto they are not to trust.
- Naba (2/5): Not Credible- be aware - I booked a room in advance based on positive reviews I had seen online. The hotel was difficult for the airport taxi driver to locate. I informed the hotel about my booking 3 days ago and also requested info for a bus tour to Taj Mahal. When I got to the hotel, I was asked to pay. I said I would pay at the time of check out, to which the staff agreed. I was then told to follow a boy, but he took me outside. I asked whee we were going. He said to the other hotel because that one was full. He took me to the street to get an auto, for he said it is another 2-3 KMs away. I returned to the front desk and told that I'd like to cancel the reservation, to which he agreed. I went back to street, found an auto, put my luggage in and went to central Delhi to find another hotel, which I luckily did.
- Francisco J (2/5): BEWARE THIS HOTEL! - What I experienced at this hotel was absolutely ridiculous and I would not wish it upon my worst enemy. I arrived at about 7am to the lobby and had requested early check in weeks earlier. I spoke to reception and they said my room would be ready shortly, but after it started taking a while I said I would go sightseeing and come back later. Eventually, I returned to the hotel in the evening, exhausted after 24 hours of flying and a long day walking, getting used to Delhi, and sightseeing, to hear the news that my room was no longer available because a pregnant woman was staying there. This was interesting and sketchy because I had been told earlier that my room was available for me and just needed to be cleaned etc. Then the manager offered me an "upgraded" room in a nearby hotel, to which I had no choice but to relocate to, since they wouldn't budge on getting me a room at this one. Finally we arrive, and not only is the new room the exact same as what the other should have been (I.e. not an upgrade), but there was a disgusting, foul stench in the bathroom, which they knew about since they left the fans on, and no toilet paper. It is unbelievable that they gave me such a poor accommodation after all they put me through. Hotel staff, besides management, were polite, helpful and friendly. Pretty close to Connaught Place and New Delhi Station. AVOID at all costs.
- kat (2/5): Don't - My friend and I had a reservation and arrived at 1 30 am. The person checking us in was the owner. He decided that he was not going to give me a room at that hotel and that he was going to send me in a taxi (at our expense) to his other, newer property, wherever that was, I still don't know. He sent his bag boy with us to hail a cab/stand on the side of the road at 2 am. His bag boy wasn't going to come with us. 4 taxis go by and aren't willing to take us to this other place. At this point we were both very upset. The owner didn't even give me a receipt for the money that I had paid and when I tried to explain that we had a tour guide picking us up from his hotel that I had a reservation for that was due to arrive at 4 30 am the same day, he didn't care. At that point we got our money back.
Tldr: owner of hotel didn't honor reservation.
- Christian (8/5): Good bugdet hotel with phantastic bed quality - This hotel at the edge of Paharganj is a good budget option, especially because the bed was the best I had in one month of Indian budget hotels. It is really outstanding!! The room could have been a cleaner, but everything else was ok. The location is not great. The hotel is difficult to find at the end of a side street, and the hotel name is not lit in the night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to the station
Little hard to get to
- Adrian Dorin (8/5): Preis Leistung Verhältnis stimmt - Günstige Unterkunft, dafür schon ziemlich abgewohnt.
Aufgrund Nebenstraße Lärm doch irgendwie erträglich.
"Touristenaufschlag" für flughafenabholung und so, dafür zuverlässig.
- Miroslava (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE, PERIOD - Walked the streets of New Delhi (ND) for 14 hours, returned back to the room to find out there was no hot water. They attempted to fix the issue but couldn't; reception advised that they would move us to an alternate hotel 15-20 minutes further out of ND, but we had to leave in 5 hours so we kindly refused. I asked for a discount when the manager called asking to talk to me. He advised that all of ND was currently out of hot water (stop laughing those who are reading!) and that there was a problem with the river that supplied water to the city. I threw the phone back to the guy behind the desk and went back to my room. DO NOT STAY HERE, for the price was pathetic for what is actually on offer... the walls are literally dirty; stay a 10 minute walk to the south.
- Barney and Jess (8/5): Helpful Hotel off the noisy street - Had a nice stay at this hotel, extended by a day. Staff were amazing, tour to Agra had the safest driver we've seen in India so far. Also came to police station to translate when my phone was stolen on the street.
- Praveen (2/5): Hotel was overbooked and no room at 2am! Avoid! - Please don't stay here. Go elsewhere if you can. I booked on hotels.com and I guess these people don't have a good coordination with Hotels.com/Expedia. I had to arrive in Delhi at 11pm but my flight got delayed and I ended up arriving at 12:30am. I don't speak much Hindi. By the time I got an Uber and reached here, it was close to 2am! It is in a small galli (or alley) in Paharganj. The staff were sleeping when I came. I had to wake them up. They opened the door and told me that they had overbooked all the rooms and I that I don't have a room now (even though guaranteed by hotels.com). The staff was nice and said they would take me to a "sister hotel" about a 10 min walk away from this one. It's 2am in the night and I was not prepared to walk for 10 min with my luggage in a new city where I don't speak the language. So, I just called up Hotels.com and booked myself on a nicer $100 per night hotel on Ashoka Road. This being India, despite booking on the internet, I guess it helps to call a day in advance and let them know when you are arriving and that you are arriving for sure! Don't risk it, stay at a better place.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No sheets on bed, room very dirty, bathroom very approximative, back street entrance, no breakfast room. Maybe ideal for backpackers but not for us.
- deepak (6/5): just budget no star - Morning tea service at 5 am came late by one hr though staff were reminded last evening since we were checking out in morning by six am
- VENKATA RAMANA (4/5): - Hotel services is very poor and hotel location is remote, to find exact location of hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - It was a very happy stay. Rooms were clean and comforting. However, the WiFi experience and the water heater were the areas that disappointed me a little. The staff was great. And the overall experience was a nice one. Three stars from my side too this hotel.
- ARUN RAGHAVENDAR (8/5): - Had a good stay in Toronto. The staff were nice and they have an excellent food at reasonable rate
- Hajare (8/5): "Home away from Home" - The hotel in Delhi where "everyting is possible" thanks to Mr. Assif Hussein and the staff.
The hotel facilities and comfort are very good : according to indian standars! we found the room very clean, well managed, spacious and reliable to the pictures in the advertisments. Only negative point is the wifi only available in the lobby. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and always looking forward to help the guests as much as possible. We also met the general manager Mr. Amar who was very accomodating. At first sight you will find the area very crowded and noisy but the hotel street is calm, no problem to sleep which is rare in Delhi.
We had a perfect stay because :
- they upgraded us (we were 2) to a bigger room after 2 days in 3pax room !
- reduction on room price for a long stay
- helped us by accepting euros to pay the hotel room
- they kept the luggages when we checked out for Amritsar during 3 days
- a breakfast was possible at 2 a.m when everything was closed in the neihgberhood
- they upgraded us for free again in a 4 pax room !!
- very professional staff
We would highly recommand this hotel to foreigners thanks to the great hospitality and atmosphere.
See you soon.
- Akash (10/5): Nice clean rooms..highly recommended - Nice budget hotel with clean rooms.. helpful staff.. close to train station and CP. highly recommended to any traveler.
- Dominykas (10/5): Nice layover - Well, everything was fine actually, comparing with hotel we stayed before in New Delhi it was huge difference. Rooms were nice, everything was clean, which we ussualy missed in most of the indian hotels, location is decent as there are most of the hotels located.. Had few issues with arriving there and meeting us, however it didn't concern as lot. Overall, it was nice and pleasent stay, would recommend it to the others and stay for the next time.
- bianca (10/5): Awesome hospitality given by staff - Stayed at hotel Toronto New Delhi for our 1st night , if you want luxury , opulence and outstanding service then this is the hotel for you.
The lobby is great , shown to our room which was of good size , finest quality bedding . The bathroom is big , the cleanest , the service , the attitude of all staff , the food was all great . The wifi speed is really very fast.
I would happily come here again .
This is the finest hotel I have ever been to .
Will return on our next visit to Delhi
- Nasser (10/5): Great value for what I paid... - Got a very attractive price for a family room. Good amenities, courteous counter staff, boys & the food. Boys got me free parking space too.
- Fiep (8/5): Geen geluidsoverlast!
- Jenni (6/5): Hotel in a buzzing area - When I arrived Hotel Toronto didn't have the room I had booked available, but they provided my friend and I with an upgraded room. Whilst I was staying at hotel Toronto I was experiencing some difficulty with my visa, the staff were eventually able to provide me with the necessary forms, it was a shame their printing facilities weren't working.
- Youngsun Cho (6/5):
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not worth trying - Booked this hotel after going through reviews on various websites. I stayed there for 5 days and turned out to be one of my biggest mistake. No hot drinks from 11 pm to 8 am...most of the hotels do provide round the clock hot drinks for a price tag like this.. Complementary breakfast includes only 2 slices of toast and tea..that's definately NOT breakfast. If you want to use heater..they will make you shell out enormous sum charged on daily basis. TV was not working...First day I asked why TV is not working and they blatantly lied in front their owner that TV across all hotels are not working. I gave laundry, and it was returned to me on 4th day evening, that too wet. You cant be having so many issues for a reviewed hotels which gets four to four and half stars. Definately claim what you are or provide service which fits four stars. Not wort trying.Looks like most reviews are planted
- Saleem (8/5): Great service, the two double bed rooms are great - We stayed here for 2 nights. Good location and excellent staff. When we arrived, at 3am (due to train delay), they were very nice to get us settled. The room wasnt the best, and not prepared fully, so next day, manager went out of his way to ensure we had a better room, and made sure the rest of our stay was amazing. Good service staff, and room service. I would stay again.
- wordly traveler (4/5): Not as described - We booked the "executive" room, the toidlet hadnt been cleaned from previous people with faeces all over seat etc. Offered another room which was at least cleaner. No toilet paper, no soap, no complimentary tea coffee as stated. No restaurant as stated. Dogs barked outside window all night, no sleep. Wifi only in lobby. Dont get washing done by this hotel, it all comes back the same colour. Only saving grace was the food. Good food, unfortunately had to eat in room. Not a safe area to go out at night. I booked this because of the reviews, but they also can be deceiving. Booked out early, they wouldnt refund.
- chetan (10/5): Superb hotel Toronto New Delhi India - The best hotel I stayed in. It is very centrally located and just 5 minutes walking distance from New Delhi railway station. The nearest metro station is rk ashram . The hotel staff is very helpful and the rooms are very big and the bathrooms are very clean with all the amenities .
The speed of the wifi is very fast .
The owner is very passionate about the hospitality and he himself ask all the guest how is the stay.
I will strongly recommend hotel Toronto
- thomas (10/5): EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY IN NEW DELHI - This hotel was awesome and I would say this is one of the best ones we have stayed at. perfect for everybody I also appreciated the extra effort that the staff displayed. Breakfast is of good quality. Lovely spacious clean room , staff and service across the hotel was first rate. Overall it was an amazing experience, no regrets no qualms, no issues, Overall, customer service is excellent..
Thank you all so very much . I would happily return to hotel TORONTO
- malik (10/5): HOTEL TORONTO NEW DELHI AT ITS BEST - i stayed in this hotel and i can guarantee that it is one of the best hotel in pahar ganj area. i got a very warm welcome at the time of check in by the manager of the hotel ,with a smiling face. got a welcome drink on the arrival by the hotel staff. the rooms were very clean and spacious and the good part of the room was it was maintained very nicely and the bed sheet was spotless which you rarely find in delhi hotels. the hotel staff was every time eager to help me for all my needs. i wanted a buy a sim card and the bell boy helped me in getting a new connection. the hotel provide 24 hours hot water , wifi connectivity with a very fast speed. it was a very good gesture from the hotel staff to get picked me up from the airport at midnight , the hotel driver was waiting with my name with a smiling face.
the room service was brilliant every day the housekeeping staff changed my bed sheet with a new one and cleaned my room.
i had arranged a travel package with the travel department of the hotel which was hassle free and up to the mark. the driver was english speaking and very professional and he guided me with all his experience to visit all the places.
so when ever i will come to delhi this is where i will stay
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO EVERYONE
- Ashish (6/5): Nice Hotel but with many cons - Hotel is nice though rooms are not same as shown in the picture. Staff including managers needs to be more customer friendly and supportive.
If you are accompanied by family or considering this hotel for female friends then think twice . Surrounding of Hotel is not safe.
This hotel needs to have at least few female workers so to make customers feel that it is safe for women as well.
In description, they mentioned various facilities but don't expect it to be present i.e. WiFi facility is not present in the rooms.
- shahnavaz (6/5): good straying - Friendly staff good service near metro wer are we go all service are there easy to find food and drink
- Ruth (10/5): Great Management made the stay very pleasant - Really good hotel if you are on a budget. We stayed two nights. The manager was very helpful and the staff were always very pleasant. The wifi worked really well, and it was also nice to be picked up at the airport. I'm glad that this was the first hotel of our four month stay and would recommend it to anyone.
- Zdenko (10/5): Excellent place - Wonderfull staff - at least the more mature gentlemen working during dayhours. Super helpful. The night-crew does not speak much english so most of your inquiries will be lost in translation - but this is how India in general is.
- Sajid (10/5): Excellent hotel with outstanding staff!! - Booked this hotel for the first time and it was a very pleasant and comfortable experience. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
- Aryn (6/5): Everything is great but the room itself. - I booked this hotel for a quick weekend trip and was drawn in by the cheap price and good location. After booking, the hotel reached out to see if I needed picked up from the airport, and was very nice/efficient about arranging everything.
When I got to the hotel, I was disappointed that there was no wifi in the room, and I had to be in the lobby to read my emails, use whatsapp/viber, etc. The TV was also not working in my room, but this was only a minor disappointment as I spent most of my time out in the city. The mattress and bedding were also somewhat questionable.
Overall, if you're looking for a cheap hotel in a good location with a friendly staff, this is an okay pick, as long as you're not planning on spending much time in the hotel. It's ideal for a cheap place to crash at the end of your day, but that's about it.
