Guest Reviews
- Pioneer34165011827 (10/5): Great comfortable base - Spent 3 nights in this lovely Riad. Arriving at night, Mustafa walked to our drop off area and walked with us to the property ( wouldn’t have found it otherwise). Very comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious. Staff very accommodating and friendly. We were around 20 mins walk through the souks to the centre. This was the perfect base for our short trip and would certainly stay there again. Thank you all.
Only one suggestion…perhaps a bottle of water in the room for late arrivals.
- Svevacuriano (10/5): This riad is a perfect oasis in the heart of Marrakech, - Our stay at this riad in Marrakech was absolutely exceptional and truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality that made us feel at home right away.
The services offered are outstanding and go far beyond expectations. The spa experience was incredibly relaxing, with professional treatments.
We also took part in a cooking class, which was one of the highlights of our trip: well organized, fun, and a fantastic way to discover authentic Moroccan cuisine. The riad also offers expertly arranged excursions, allowing us to explore the surrounding areas comfortably and stress-free, with knowledgeable guides and great attention to detail.
Above all, the staff truly makes the difference. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and always available to help with anything we needed, from recommendations to special requests. Their professionalism and friendliness created a welcoming atmosphere that we will always remember.
- T1980KChelenf (2/5): Holiday Nightmare - Management were extremely rude, cash only! When asked questions regarding payment & prices of food/drink male manager became quite angry on day of departure. Our party was all female, 2 elderly friends, myself & 13yr old daughter. Felt extremely nervous after his challenging attitude. This Ryad is located in an alley about 10min walk from taxi drop off. Unfortunately on day of departure whilst walking to taxi I was robbed of all my possessions by a person on motorcycle. Had to stay in Marrakech an extra 7 days whilst a huge expense met to get emergency passports ! A nightmare we will never forget!!
- Weel1z (8/5): Lovely Riad - My friend and I stayed at Ryad Amiran on our visit to Marrakesh. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you all for making us so welcome 🥰
- Traveler36577 (8/5): Lovely wee place. - Lovely little Riad. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was lovely.
Thanks everyone for making our trip so special.
- khala2021 (10/5): Wonderful experience - Once again, an absolute magical 5 days at ryad Amiran.. thanks everyone for your unforgettable memories. We have had a wonderful time. My wife loved it so much. We stayed there several times and every time is especial. Incredible staff very helpful.
Starting the morning with a Wonderful breakfast. Before we head out.
The room is very spacious and clean. The ryad it self is oasis of tranquility.
Once again thank you very much to you all. 🙏 hope to see you again in nearest future.

- Y4108XSnic (10/5): Just what we needed - We stayed here for 4 nights and had a lovely time. The room was clean, the shower had hot water and the air con was a much needed and welcome factor! The staff were also so friendly and helpful. We came for a short last minute holiday and so this was everything we needed. We were also welcomed with some complementary mint tea. You are close to plenty of local sights and markets. Thanks for a lovely stay :)
- queenbetty2018 (10/5): 1st time in marrakech - Great location between the new town gueliz with large modern shopping centre and jemma el fna which covers some 13000sqm both within walking distance. The manager was so helpful showing us on a map how to get to the places we wanted to visit.Breakfast was incredible with a variety of lovely items like a mini buffet for just us.Rooms are spotless and comfortable and the roof terrace is lovely for relaxing after walking all day.
- _davidlintin (10/5): Highly recommend friendly place to stay - A fantastic opportunity to stay in old Medina area of Marrakech. Don't be put off by the surroundings as the locals are friendly and we felt totally safe.
The proprietor and staff couldn't have more helpful, organising trips, taxis, etc.
We had a great breakfast every morning that set us for the day.
The room had super air conditioning (much needed with the temperature hitting 40C on our final day!).
Yes there was background noise late at night but it just adds to the ambience when you get used to it.
Thank you Naima and staff for a wonderful time.
- 498lynettec (10/5): Beautiful traditional Riad - After reading all the reviews, I went in with an open mind but must say absolutely no complaints from us and would stay there again.
We were welcomed with mint tea and shown to our room (when you arrive you have to pay a tourist tax - we were there for 3 nights so just over 400MAD), which after travelling in 44º into a cool air con room was bliss!
Our bathroom shower was amazing and again, absolutely no issues with the hot water - although in 44º heat over 3 days, hot water was not what you wanted!
We were also provided with a map of the city and directions on map to the square via the Souks.
We had our youngest with us so decided to have an early dinner at our Riad as we had plans. He can be a fussy eater (due to his ASN) but happily ate the tagine and enjoyed it.
Breakfast over the few days consisted of bread, pancakes, cake, melon, coffee, tea and orange juice. All 3 days we were offered an omelette but we were happy with what we had been given.
On our last day, we kept our belongings in Riad whilst we met friends and collected them before we left.
We had no issues or concerns during our stay and will happily return - just not in the summer period as was too hot for us!
- MTD197 (8/5): A lovely authentic Ryad in the Old City of Marrakech. - We have just returned from a great stay at Ryad Amiran and Spa.
A lovely authentic Ryad in the Old City of Marrakech.
It took us a while to get our bearings as the Ryad is down a small alleyway, but luckily there are 2 smalls signs high up on the wall directing the way to this Ryad, without these we would have been wandering for hours trying to find the accommodation.
TOP TIP - Ask your taxi driver from the Airport to drop you off at the BAB YACOUT Archway - the Ryad is literally a 2 minute walk from here.
On arrival we were greeted with complimentary mint tea, which was a lovely surprise, and a refreshing treat.
The staff are lovely and very helpful, especially the 2 ladies who work in the kitchen.
We had breakfast during our stay and this was great - fresh pastries, pancakes, fruit and coffee/orange juice.
The rooms are up a winding staircase - not for the faint hearted. Very clean and spacious. Our room overlooked the small alleyway.
There is also an outdoor terrace on the very top floor with a nice seating area.
There is no bar as advertised on some travel company websites - however the hotel will sell you small cans of beer from the fridge in the kitchen. ( if available )
To walk to Jemaa El Fnaa Square it takes approx 15 minutes. Turn left out of the Ryad and just keep walking straight.
At the square there are lots of market stalls, restaurants and rooftop cocktail bars that serve alcohol.
We would stay here again when we next visit Marrakech.
- Q1705JKbernardf (8/5): Difficult place to find Not well signposted. - Could do with An Update to the Whole Site.Breakfast you need to tell the ladies what you want,or you get the standard orange juice Tea Coffee bread, eggy bread honey jam cake, not bad fare.very secure with door security,The Rooms Need Refreshing, Cleaned Daily,Nice shower and bathroom.
- rovingranger (8/5): Very good accomodation. - We booked through Jet2 and spent four days at the Ryad . The taxi took as as close to the alleyway as it could , which meant down some incredibly narrow streets and done a three point turn which i could never achieve. One of the young girls , the cook, came to meet us so we found the Ryad quite comfortably. We checked in and the rooms were ready shortly afterwards around two o clock. The room we had was on the first floor and had a lovely bed , great air conditioning and a large bathroom with a large walk in shower. It was 44 degrees with a hot wind so we used the cold shower on numerous occasions on the break which had great power.
The first evening we went up to the rooftop area for a drink , it does serve beer and wine , not cheap around £6 a can for Casablanca beer which I subsequently found was reasonable against other bars/restaurants which charge up to £9. It turned out to be too hot even at 6.30 to sit upstirs in the shade so we walked to our restaurant.
Walking is scary at first , mainly because you get lost very quickly but it the motorbikes that race down the narrow streets. In fact the streets are very safe apart from that, well lit and full of children playing outside or families out on the doorsteps.
Breakfast varied ever day , but usually consisting of pancakes , fruit and cake which sometimes changed type and also great coffee and fruit juice . It was never crowded and all delivered quickly to the table in the beautiful ground floor lobby.
We had a drink on the following day in the evening in the lobby which was much cooler ,but they ran out of beer very quickly so went to our restaurant.
Taxi's were organised for us by the owner when we went to other parts of the medina and a tour of Marrakech , which took three hours but took us to all the gardens and buildings and Mohammed our driver was born and bred in the city walls so knew all the history and less crowed sights and had a lovely air conditioned van. We also done some shopping on our way.
The only downside was when checking out. I don't mind paying cash but when we were presented with our bill for trips and taxis , less than half an hour before we were being collected for the airport we asked to pay by card and was told cash only ( I've subsequently read a number of reviews mentioning this ) As the nearest ATM is at least ten minutes walk away and can often have a queue we had an anxious time in 40 degrees heat getting cash and being on time for our taxi. It would be good for the owners to tell us before the last day that cash was needed.
Other than that I would have no doubt recommending this Ryad.
- F8661JUnadiar (10/5): Amazing stay at Ryad Amiran - Ryad Amiran & Spa was the perfect homey spot for our first ever trip to Morocco. Naima and the rest of the staff were amazing at their jobs and always looked out for us as well. Not only did Naima give us a map of the city, she also gave us all of the local tips needed and organised a taxi service for all our booked dinners and plans. Not only would we stay there again, but we would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Marrakesh for the first time. The ryad is also only a 5-10 minute walk to the sooks so if you love shopping then it’s perfect! Thank you again Naima and to the rest of the staff too. Hope to see you again :)
- yvettedH5491SS (4/5): Riad locations are not for the faint hearted - On arrival luckily our taxi driver walked us straight to the door otherwise would never have found it! met by a young lad who made us a peppermint tea we then dropped our bags in room and walked around 11th century streets so expect to get lost a few times...people don't bother you but whatever assistance they offer comes at a cost.
For most people the old town will be unsettling with scooters flying past and difficult to navigate! Not ideal for people with mobility issues as grounds are very uneven..health and safety not on their radar anytime soon!
Changed rooms after second day with no reason why but bed a little bigger so all fine...all rooms dark and need a little TLC specially were the bedding is concerned...Riad is like an echo chamber you hear every conversation and while there some women next morning were told three rooms complained about noise while on the terrace it was around 2am but they were celebrating a birthday and only talking and to be honest were else can you celebrate as nothing around area! So couldn't even imagine if groups of families book the Riad!!
You can find some places that sell alcohol but took a good 30mins to walk. Riad says bar but no sign of one and when asked the young lad said there was nothing in...a few hours later though some people told us they got drink so maybe they ran out to get!
Spa- pic below of one of their spa rooms took while waiting to return home 😐
Trips through Riad are so expensive..so worth looking round either online or book before you arrive..
Breakfast was a french stick cut into pieces some toasted some fried in butter, a bread bun and madeira cake this was every day! you could ask for boiled eggs my husband asked for an omelette and it was just an omelette nothing in it...we found places outside walls a few times Bar 16 nice place around the plaza but again a good 30mins walk. McDonald's in plaza also:)
Staff friendly but management only seem to be there for breakfast hours then it's left down to the kitchen staff and cleaners and a young lad as the night porter so when guests want questions answered nobody speaks english to help..
It's not a hotel and it's not a spa or bar it's a 2-3 star guest house and Marrakesh is not a main stream holiday destination and shouldn't be sold as one with Easyjet....
Would definitely recommend you book a big hotel and travel into the old town for a taste of Marrakesh.....
- Helloagain59 (10/5): Traditional Ryad - We had a lovely time staying here, feeling very well looked after and welcomed, by all the lovely friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us!
Breakfast was delicious,
plentiful and good to sample Marrakech delight.
On the first night we stayed in a room but were moved to the upper floor next day where we stayed for the rest of our time! This seemed to happen with everyone, but don’t know the reason why! However the beds were very comfortable and we were well rested. We enjoyed 3 course dinner one night which consisted of triangular samosas, chicken tagine, salad and sliced orange with cinnamon all very delicious and tasty. We would love to come back and would highly recommend as we thoroughly enjoyed our experience!
- S6827IUlisam (2/5): Budget accommodation - This is an honest review and not particularly a bad one.
This is not a hotel, it is a bed and breakfast. It is not a spa.
This is a typical Riad and is located in a dark and unpopulated area at the back of the medina.
We arrived and were “greeted” my a young man. He didn’t say hello, he simply told us to sit and took our passports.
We suggest that the guests receive a welcome pack that gives them information on where they are in the medina and how to navigate to the main square for example. We found the navigation to even find a cash point very daunting.
The rooms are small and basic with old and mismatched bedding. Bathroom was ok.
Limited electrical sockets
Breakfast was just bread, juice and coffee and was brought to the table, no one asks what you need.
Visitor tax is eur4 per person per night, you will need to pay this in cash, but make sure your invoice is calculated correctly before paying. Ours was not and it took some time to navigate this with the lady.
Sadly, we felt like we couldn’t stay due to the location of the property. We only stayed 1 night of the 4 we had booked.
It is 35 min walk from the property to the main square. Please bring trainers, open toed shoes are not advisable due to the uneven alleys.
This is a budget accommodation that will absolutely provide you with a Moroccan experience.
- orlandosheraton (10/5): An oasis amongst the Hustle and Bustle of Marrakesh. - We spent 3 wonderful days at this charming and authentic Riad close to the Medina in Marrakech. It was an oasis of tranquility set amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. The room was comfortable and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed breakfast during our stay which was very good. The fresh breads were excellent. I have to say the mint tea at the Ryad Amiran was the best we had anywhere in the city. I would certainly stay here on my next visit to Marrakech.
- mikebM2580FK (4/5): Great trip to Marrakech but the Ryad let it all down. The only 5stars it should have are negative one's - The holiday started well with the flight and pick-up from the Airport. The driver was great and chatted to us on the way to the old town. When we reached the city walls, he even drove his car through the gates and as close as possible to the Ryad. Squeezing through gaps I dint think his Land Cruiser would go. He even got out of the car and carried the bags to the door of the Ryad.
On arrival at the Ryad, we were met by our hosts. We enjoyed a welcome mint tea while our cases were taken to our room by the Cook/maid. While drinking the tea Naima our host proceeded to bombard us with all the packages on offer by them. We were advised by her, that “we may be able to find all of the packages out, many of these people are not honest and that you are asked to pay for all or half of the package at the time of booking, but when you turn up at the pick-up point no-one turns up.” These kinds of tactics applied the pressure to book through them. We decided to book a couple of excursions. A ballon ride over the Atlas Mountains to catch the sun rise and a trip into the hills to ride camels and quad bike followed by a night feast and show. We also agreed on a taxi ride across the city at a discounted rate.
The intention was to book and pay for all the excursions through the Ryad leaving us cash to spend in the Souk. The manager offered to change my cash for me at an exchange rate my of 10MD Moroccan Dirham / £1 sterling, but having checked the rate before I left the UK I pushed and agreed on 12MD/£1. I was happy with the deal.
Then came the first negative. Before booking I had checked the hotel on a few websites including TripAdvisor and Hotels.com, which states under Polices “This property accepts credit cards, debit cards and cash. Cashless transactions are available.” When I asked to pay for the trips and the Holiday Tax by Card Naima advised me that they only take cash. This, like other residents I later discovered, left me having to run around to find banks and cash machines each day to withdraw cash not only for the Souk but also to pay Naima for the excursions. Not a very professional or conducive situation. Still, we booked a balloon ride over the Atlas mountains for 1,400 DM each that’s £233 for my wife and I. This did include an early morning pick up and transfer to and from the balloon site. To be honest this was one of the bests parts of the trip and one I will remember for a long time to come. We took the afternoon to ourselves and having paid out the holiday tax, set off to replenish my stock of cash for the balloon ride. Having wondered through the town and into the Souk we had a great time and eventually found our way back to the Ryad after an entertaining evening meal.
Negative point number two was soon to raise its head. Covered with a layer of dirt and dust from the afternoons walk my wife went to shower before the end of the day. Unfortunately, the shower was not that hot and had to be run at full heat to get anything like a decent shower. After less than 10 minutes of showering the water had stated to run cold making it impossible for me wife to continue. I went down to the night port how tried his best but could do nothing he called Naima who advised to “wash faster” but to wait 15 minutes for the water to warm up again. My wife had to sit in a towel waiting for the water to regain its temperature. It was now late and by the time my wife had finished showering, and I waited my turn under the inadequate shower I was not best impressed. The next morning before setting off on our balloon ride, we rose early to get ready. Fearing the lack of water my wife and I had to try and take a shower together. while in some situations this can be romantic; when you fear the water will turn cold at any minute, romance is furthest from your mind. We left early before the managing staff were about and returned late at the end of the day missing them. That night we showered together quickly again and in the next morning I decided to confront the management with my issues.
When I told Naima, to her face, the problems I had been having she suggested that “we should wash quicker “ and that there was nothing wrong with the shower. She followed this by laughing at me. I found this both rude and insulting and told her so. At this point Naima spoke to the manager, and I followed her into his office to explain my dilemma. After telling me that each room had the same size water heater, and no other guests had complained even he suggested I was taking to long in the shower! I pointed out that, I have travelled around the world and have never staid in a hotel, B&B or anywhere else that had given me a problem with a shower to this extreme extent. Eventually he listened to me and offered to transfer me to a superior room for the duration of my stay. I was happy to except the room, and we moved within the hour. Our only fear was that the same situation would happen again, and I would again be taking a cold shower. Fortunately for me that was not the case, and the showers held out and were much less of an issue.
There were some other discrepancies with the description of the hotel. Under Room amenities the room was described as having : Bathrobes and slippers, Bidet, Mini bar and a Television in common areas.
The bathrobes and slippers would have been nice but were nowhere to be seen (Mabe in the small SPA room?)
Th Bidet must have been in another room as I didn’t find it in any of the rooms, we staid in.
As for the Mini Bar, we had a small fridge in the room which may have been a minibar at one time in its life, but it was empty of any stock!
Regarding the TV in Common areas, when I never saw one. But to be honest that did not bother me.
With reference to the food served at the Ryad we are only able to comment on the breakfast. This consisted of mainly coffee, low grade orange juice accompanied with a toasted French baguette with butter, honey and jam, a pain au chocolate and whatever dish the cook made fresh. Some days this was French toast or a roti. Never did we see any fresh fruit, yogurt of cold / hot cuts of meat. I saw the manager one morning eating boiled eggs and commented that he was lucky to be having eggs. He told me that I should ask and I could gave some. The next day I asked and my wife and I enjoyed a plain omelette each.
As a constructive comment it would be nice to have a menu selection for breakfast and to provide a little more variety than bread !
It is worth noting that being a mechanical engineer by profession I deduced that the issue with the hot water tank was that the thermostat was set to low and hence the water was not hot enough. This was why we had to have the hot water on full to be able to take a show. To the managers credit within the hour of me advising him of the possible solution he had an engineer out to the room to fix it.
Negative point number four came on day three. On arrival Naima was very keen to book us onto her tours and packages. When discussing the trip into the dessert to take a camel ride followed by a ride out on quad bike into the dunes followed be a night feast with a show the were two packages on offer. One at 600DM per person and one at 750DM per person around £50 and £63 each. For the life of me I could not work out the difference. We picked the one at £50 as they both seamed the same. To be honest it seamed that Naima pushed this the most. On the whole it was I good day although the camel ride felt like a short donkey ride on Blackpool beach. The quad bike were fun but there were not enough for us all to ride one each and both my wife and I had to share as well as another couple. It was only when looking over photos I could see just how bald the tyres where and this had been to cause of the one and only crash I had. Also on the trip out our transport driver stopped off at a seemingly random spot to give us a short tea break. This transpired to be a shed/shop that tried to sell us all Argon Oil for skin treatment at premium prices. I noticed that it was once again a cash only transaction and the tiller was keeping a not of which driver had brought which customer. On my return home I was contacted by one of the other trippers who had checked out the Argon Oil he had purchased a discovered it was oil for cooking. He had called the number on the bottles and confronted the seller, who had advised him the person selling the oil to us must have made a mistake. Having sat through all the sales talk I can confirm that she was adamant that this was oil for the hair and skin. Our suspicion is that the whole stop was a confidence trick and that the drivers where on a cut. Who else was on that cut I could not say.
Despite the negative aspects of the Ryad we found Marrakech both interesting and fascinating from the rooftop cafes and restaurants to the hubbub of the souks and the fun of haggling a good price. The old town is dusty and there are a number of crumpled buildings following the earthquake of 2023 but this is to be expected and did not detract for the whole. We had a memorable holiday a may return although not to the same Ryad.
- MrsRHSutcliffe (10/5): Lovely little place - Lovely place.
Owner/ manager is so nice, nothing is too much for her.
Friendly hotel and staff.
You can book excursions through the hotel.
They also offer spa services massages and hammam reasonably priced. We didn’t get chance to try the service as we only had a short stay.
They also offer henna tattoos.
Our room was nice and clean. Very big bed !!
Bathroom was nice.
Great location to get into the souks and square, but also close to the gate of the town so you can get out to other places.
Breakfast was nice, varied slightly each day.
Evening meals can be provided, you need to tell them in the morning and it is cooked fresh for you
It’s an oasis of calm inside the chaotic medina.
- kirstym839 (10/5): We fell in love with morroco here. - Just returned home from a 4 night stay in this cosy and authentic ryad, already wishing we had longer. The family run space was a welcoming peaceful surrounding to find some quiet away from the bustling medina. The rooms are cool and spacious resting spots out the African sun. The rooftop terrace a calm and relaxing area to rest tired feet. Breakfast was delicious. Coffee fantastic. Orange juice refreshing. A home from home atmosphere. We enjoyed our trip and felt safe and welcome here.
- tracyoM1793UW (2/5): Hideous - Awful experience from start to finish with an easy jet booking
Dropped off near it at 8 pm and walked through rubble and empty lanes to get to a basically unmarked black door
No water - no tv in room
No room service phone
Didn’t look superior and def not 5 star
Dust an inch thick on hairdryer
Expensive water given as we were so thirsty after a long trip
Security guard greeted us and said there was no food available and no special diet catered for
The window was like a prison window
I felt oppressed and trapped and contacted the rep via a very very poor WiFi system
No help basically put up with it attitude
Luckily we only stayed two days and I was so glad to leave
There was no proper spa just a concrete square in the main floor
The upstairs terrace was dirty and unkempt
The spa room was just a couch in a tiny room
No price lists etc
We were constantly harrassed when out and there is no point in asking directions unless u want to pay over ten euros for a sentence !
We asked three locals where main sites were and they did not know
Luckily we were next to a very good restaurant and paid 140 for two meals there !
Scared most of the time
Uncomfortable and felt ripped off and scammed by easy jet !! As hotel description not at all correct - never saw an a la carte !! And breakfast was bread based only and microwaved!
I won’t go back !!!
- khala2021 (10/5): Unforgettable experience - What an excellent experience 👏 👌.
My wife and I stayed at Riad Amiran again. And as usual they didn't disappoint us. It's our 3rd time at this Riad for the last 4 years.. great host and wonderful staff. They have exceeded, i can't highly recommended them. Wonderful Room, very clean, newly repainted and tiled. great breakfast, and the helpful they given us from day to day basis. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone from the management to the night staff 🙏.. for the unforgettable new years Eve that has been organised by the management at the Riad and wonderful staff. Once again thank you every so much.
We are very much looking forward to seeing again
- X4780XSpaulinew (10/5): The hotel is near markets restaurants and mini markets for sweets chocolate Juice hotel staff always there for any help - Myself and my husband are just home we had the best time at the Ryad Amiran the hotel is set in a cobbled street the people are so friendly it was nice to see children playing in the streets the hotel staff are amazing from the owner the manger and the kitchen staff all are there for your every need the rooms are spot less and comfortable the breakfast was fantastic tea coffee fruit juice toasted bread sweet breads french toast pancake's donuts honestly a good start for your day we will be back in February/march time we had a lovely time couldn't fault it Thank you to all at the Ryad Amiran &spa hotel 😊
- Rayann (2/5): - Horrible !!! Me and my boyfriend were followed around the Medina by a man “offering us directions” even though we repeatedly said no and we were not lost. This isn’t why it’s a one star review because this is common in certain areas of the Medina. I’m giving this hotel ONE STAR because the owner would not let me and my boyfriend in until we “tipped” for the services the “guide” provided. EVEN THOUGH WE KNEW WHERE THE HOTEL WAS AND WERE HARASSED. Shame on the owner, she should have let her guests in regardless smh!! Don’t come here !!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Fair- manage expectations! - The photos are not a true reflection! A bit dated and appears to have been neglected over the years
- Azaam (2/5): - I don’t like nothing
- Mark (6/5): Beware - I booked two rooms for this property, however on arrival were were told that there was only one room available. The host offered to find a room in another riad, however as we were in a hurry to get out and explore (we had less than 24 hours to see the sights) we didn't argue and instead just took the one room shared (but for the price of the two rooms). I can see from other reviews that this has happened before at this property. I would suggest Hotels.com follow this up and sort out immediately as it is not really acceptable to sell rooms that you don't have. This was very disappointing. Aside from that, the facilities were all good in the property, nothing negative to say about that.
- Jamy (6/5): - Beau cadre, propre, personnel sympathique.
Petit déjeuner bof (jus d’orange industriel, plats du soir bof, etc.)
Localisation vraiment bof. Coin pas très sure...
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Deceitful hosts. We arrived at the Riad and with very little welcome. Tattered furnishing dusty tables, no hand soap towel or tissue in lobby bathroom. We were told that we will Be staying at another riad for one night ‘riad coloures du sud Marrakech. The assistant lady told us we were double booked and someone else is staying in our room and that we will have it the next day while having to stay at another riad. As this was not communicated with us prior and we did not feel we will be settled having to move again after our first night and only having such a short trip that we asked to be refunded so we can stay elsewhere. They refused and we were told To contact Expedia. We did. We explained the situation that our room Was double Booked and we are being asked to stay elsewhere at a place we have little information. Expedia’s assistant Mikal called the Riads manager Adil and Adil told Expedia that renovations were being done on the room and that is the reason. And no refunds will be given. This is now two different stories about what’s happening with our room. 1. A double booking 2. Renovations Expedia also told us that no one else is checked into the hotel but we saw the occupants and even took pictures. So the Riad is taking guest that Expedia does not know about. We asked to see the room and it’s renovations and they refused us. Very deceitful hosts, at our expense we booked another hotel after trying to sort the situation out for 2hours
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I love the property very personal
Very attentive
Feels like home
Experience the cultures
Miss not having any media connection like a radio or tv in the room
Gracias Adil
- LUCIA (4/5): ZIMMER GROSS, RUHIG, LEISE, SCHÖNE INNENHOF. - WIR HABEN DAS ZIMMER NUR ZUM SCHLAFEN UND DUSCHEN BENUTZT, TROTZDEM HABEN WIR GEMERKT DASS DIE REINIGUNG NICHT 100% RICHTIG WAR. Z.B DAS BADZIMMER NUR OBERFLÄCHIG GEPUTZT, DIE BADTÜCHER NICHT GEWECHSELT, KEINE DUSCHARTIKEL.
DAS FRÜHSTÜCK WAR IMMER GLEICH UND LANGWEILIG.
- Janet (10/5): A little oasis in Medina - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Ryad. Adil, his wife and staff have been attentive and gave us good tips/advises during our stay. We booked for pick-up from airport through Adil and we were glad as it ease the arrival to the Ryad at night. The chicken tajine that night was delightful. We booked a day tour with Adil and his wife. They were very kind and gave us a special offer that the day trip clearly states the price is per room. The offered us the room price for our family as our son has a separate room. We booked the massage and spa at the Ryad and it was excellent.
The Ryad is located not by the main square but easy enough to get there and also the other souks. It is located in a quiet part of Medina so we were not disturbed by the noisy night life and slept well. There is a roof terrace that is very private and we enjoyed resting up there to soak up the sun.
- Samuel (10/5): Authentic Moroccan Stay - Loved this Riad. It is in great state and conditions. Rooms are very spacious, confortable beds and elegantly decorated in various Moroccan themes. The service and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Great Moroccan breakfast. They even made arrangements for a 6am breakfast the day we were leaving to the Sahara desert. They also have an inhouse spa and hamman service which is a good plus for relaxation. Its about a 20-25 minutes walk to the central square in Marrakesh depending on your pace and distractions with the souks. But its totally worth it, very safe and totally recommend this Riad/Hotel.
- vale (6/5): Unicado pesimo. Peligroso. - Peligroso.
- Shahima (8/5): Nice hotel, beautiful lobby in a good location - Our stay at this hotel from start to finish was pretty comfortable. There were a few instances which made the experience unsatisfactory, but on the whole we enjoyed our 4 nights at Riad Amiran. We arranged pick-up from the airport with the hotel and we found our driver waiting patiently outside even though our flight was delayed by 2 hours. We compensated him for the wait (tip the driver, don't pay him for the journey like we did. This is charged by the hotel afterwards). Tired and hungry, we arrived at the hotel earlier than the check-in time. Now usually when this happens, the hotel is happy for me to leave my luggage and allow me to go off to explore/eat/shop etc. In this case we sat there for 50 minutes with light refreshments as a hotel staff went off to clean a room. I didn't expect to be checked-in (although I have been when it's only an hour or so early), but we sat there until exactly 2pm when she returned and showed us to our room. We came downstairs 10 minutes later with the intention of going to eat and was greeted by one of the owners. She was informative and gave some good tips and advice, although I found her approach somewhat condescending. We met the owner, Adil and another member of staff who were incredibly polite, welcoming and extremely approachable. We found the female owner/staff member arrogant, hostile and just a tad rude. We saw her twice when we came down to breakfast and she completely ignored our presence.
- MCS (8/5): Quiet location, big breakfast, comfy beds - Breakfast was huge and delicious--more than we could eat (fruit, cakes, 1-2 pancake types, baguette, jams, honey, tea and coffee). My husband would have liked a savory option, but solved this by buying cold cuts at Carrefour (20+ minute walk away). Very comfortable bed. Nice seating area on the roof - cool and breezy in the evening. Refrigerator and hairdryer in the room. We were quite happy w/o television. Recommend bringing a reading light/torch as overhead/bedside lights are a bit dim and leaving the windows onto the courtyard open leads to lack of privacy. Earplugs might be useful to have as occasionally other guests can talk loudly at breakfast or in the courtyard and the sound travels. (It depends on who is staying. There were also very quiet days.) WIFI was a bit slow, but sufficient for email/surfing the internet, insufficient for work-related use with lots of downloading/uploading or skype conferences. Easy walk (20 min) to Jemaa el Fna square and to the souks. Colorful greenmarkets near the ryad. Nice hammam nearby (Mythic Oriental Spa; tourist-oriented) - best massage I've ever had. We also splurged and went to Latitude 31, which was 100 meters from the ryad. Beautiful dinner on our first night in Morocco. Overall, a wonderful experience and a good night's sleep every night.
- Afua (8/5): Nice ryad within old walls of marrakech. - I was initially shocked by the surrounding areas near the Riad but once inside the building, it was so relaxing and serene. All staff from manager to cleaners were very helpful. The location is well within walking distance of the majority of marrakech. I always had a tidy room and comfortable bed to come to from my sightseeing.
I will definitely be back here with friends in the future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Embrace Marrakesh in its Authenticity - This is a traditional Riad. Beautiful & clean. Located inside the old city Medina near Bab Yocout which will grant you access in and out the Medina. Leaving the Riad, turn right and keep walking, when you reach the end turn left onto the main road and continue all the way to the souks. Leaving the Riad turn left, another left at the corner and another left at the next corner, this brings you to the wall of the city and the gate Bab Yocout. Outside Bab Yocout you can catch a cab. The owners where present during our stay providing answers to all our questions, and acting liaisons and translators when needed. We were checked in by "Lemi"- a wonderful young man who spoke English and coordinated our stay. If you want authentic home cooked SLAMMING Moroccan food, EAT HERE!. The ladies in the kitchen make everything from scratch and take any reasonable requests. You will taste the difference when eating outside in a restaurant vs here at the Riad. The room service was great, We even asked the Riad late one night to please have our clothes washed and dried for the next morning and they did!!!. We booked private tours with the Riad for Essaouira and Ouzoud waterfalls. The trips were amazing. The drivers provided so many essential tips such as to what the purchase, where to purchase, how much to pay and how to negotiate price! Having this insight was priceless because it equips you with the power and knowledge to really enjoy your vacation. We were treated like family and I loved it
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Riad but location is not the best - The Riad itself is great and host is great. But one hard issue is the location, because it is at the west of the Medina but not near the square (which is at south). So everyday you may need to walk for an extra 30 mins (because many interest stuffs is around the square).
- Brian (10/5): A pleasant home away from home - Adil and his staff treat you like family and are very friendly. The hotel kindly picked me up at the airport. Upon your arrival you will be welcomed with some fabulous mint tea. The hotel is very clean and quiet. All rooms face onto a very nice inner court yard. The hotel is fabulous as it is small you have the opportunity to meet other guests at the free breakfast every morning. The hotel WIFI works really well. I had the pleasure of taking a site seeing tour with the hotel and leaned a lot about Morocco. The hotel is an oasis of tranquility in the midst of the old city and has a gorgeous roof top deck. I will stay at the Ryad Amiran again and would happily recommend the Ryad Amieran to others. Thanks for the great stay!
- Sarah (8/5): Comfortable riad. Pleasing staff. - This riad is situated off a side street. It is a comfortable riad, with attentive staff. Be careful not to get lost, follow the main square signs closely once in the souks. Beware of people offering you directions. The room (Saphire) was of a good size, the shower was very good and all toiletries well catered for. Lovely patio on the roof, we would suggest you take breakfast on the roof if weather permits.
- christine (8/5): Low key, clean and convenient - The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was served daily -with a smile. A map and verbal directions were provided to get around the medina.
I asked for a particular tea and the staff went out and and procured it for me!!
- mk (4/5): Difficult to locate despite local help - Inconvenient location (taxi expensive from here and long walk to Jamaa el Fna) despite local help. Breakfast is only carbs and sugar. If you arrange trips thru them, get in writing and not pay in advance: we arranged a trip from Marrakesh to Fez with stops in Casablanca and Rabat- paid what they asked with no haggling. But got exactly opposite - old car, non English speaking driver who told us 3 hours into the trip in Casablanca that he did not have license for Rabat.
Much enjoyed and had better value at our stay in a conveniently located 5 star hotel with excellent breakfast that are available on "sale" often for a little bit more than Riad prices. Riad experience good but maybe for one day only, but for those who like 'conveniences' and services like reliable travel planning , other options abound.
- cesar (8/5): Marrakech - foi tranquila. Atendentes atenciosos.
- Rahat (8/5): Ryad us Salam! - The first thing that hits you about Ryad Amiran is the beautiful smell of incense that subtly permeates the entire riad.
The second thing that you notice is the fantastic customer service and smiling faces all around, especially Adil, Naima, and Meryem. No task was too big, nor any query too mundane. Their professionality really puts ones mind at rest and lets you enjoy your stay, and overall holiday.
The riad is very clean, the room plus en-suite shower were immaculate, and it is a place I can see myself coming back to again and again.
Choukran bezzaf Ryad Amiran!
- Naz (8/5): Staff were amazing! - Very friendly staff, location is slightly off main toad but once you know the route very easy to navigate around.
- Samuel (10/5): Ryad Amiran - perfect! - Perfect hotel! Felt like royalty staying here. Food was amazing, staff very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much hassle for them. Can take a little while to get used to finding the Ryad but that's part of the fun. Would recommend this ryad to everyone. Thanks to all at the Ryad Amiran for making our stay in Marrakech enjoyable! We will be back!
