Guest Reviews
- Outi (9/5): -

Parvelle johtavista portaista puuttui joistain askelmista liukuesteet.
- Strömbäck (9/5): -
- Pirkko (8/5): - Ei hissiä. Huonot sängyt. Jääkaappi lämmin.

- Päivi (8/5): Loma - Siisti hyvä hotelli keskeisellä sijainnilla. Plussaa monipuolinen aamupala (erityisesti maukas aapupuuro) ja tanssiliput. Erittäin ystävällinen ja avulias henkilökunta. Ei erityistä
- Natalie (8/5): -
- Helmut (9/5): - Lage, Essen , Nordlicht gut sichtbar ...
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Launokorpi (10/5): Gäst - Allt fungerade bra Lite ostädat på loftet, gammal saft
- Anna (9/5): Ehdottomasti voisin tulla uudelleen. - Loistava aamiainen mahtavalla näköalalla.
Henkilökunta oli avuliasta ja ystävällistä.
Sijainti oli loistava.
- JackieSGlos (8/5): Great Experience - Stayed at this hotel 7th 10th December flew with TUI from Bristol right from check in it's geared up for children on the flight they play games to keep the little ones entertained our 4 year old grandson loved it. When you land you pick up your snow gear before going to the hotel which is about 45 minutes away.
Check in was fairly quick we had a ground floor room with 2 single beds and an armchair that went into a bed our grandson loved it the beds are comfortable and the bathroom was fine if a little small having your own sauna was nice .
The bar area is nice and the staff are very nice although the drinks are expensive the restaurant is upstairs and is nicely set out the food is OK always managed to find something to eat there is also a bar there.
TUI put on activities during the day and have a kids club early evening the hotel also has games and a pool table outside they have sledges you can use .
The village is about 10 15 minutes from the hotel with shops and a bar and just past the shops is a path to the lake.
The TUI trip to the snow village was lovely I especially enjoyed the dog sledging we also did the reindeer safari which was very good.
- West123456 (2/5): Look elsewhere better hotels - Paid for a superior room from Friday until Tuesday, didn't get the room cleaned until Monday and when I have just arrived back it says my room has been cleaned but all they did was drop clean towels off never made the bed or cleaned the coffee cups ( which I have been doing Each day ) I went and complained at reception but they said they don't clean the rooms over these proof weekend and when I said about the standards of cleaning ie not making of the beds and leaving dirty cups they offered me new cups . I have paid nearly £200 per ngt to stay here which I believe to be a price for a high standard this hotel definitely does not offer that .
- Arja (6/5): - Aamupala. Tanssit Vanha. Ilmastointi vähäinen.
- Monika (7/5): -

- charlie-bear11 (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful, serene - Absolutely beautiful hotel and the staff were so efficient, helpful and friendly! The restaurant and food were so clean.
Room was lovely.
Shame on the owners for charging €1 for a small ramekin of mayonnaise. Not all kids like ketchup and that was the only free condiment on offer.

- Sylke (7/5): - Ligging Zeer gedateerd hotel

- lynnmD3191UM (10/5): Thank you to the staff and to TUi fgxperience - The hotel was lovely and cosy, had everything you needed. We were there 4 nights 5 days. Its been said before the rooms are basic but they have everything you need. They need to be sturdy with all the people, cases, boots and suits that come in and out. The staff are so helpful and very pleasant, they went out there way to help us. We were with TUI and can't fault them, the reps were great on hand to give hints and tips, and tell us when the Northen Lights were out. That was some night 🌙 🌟
Thank you all.
- denisedT6911QM (10/5): Amazing holiday. - Amazing, the hotel was lovely with a nice sauna, basic but you’re not in the room that much. I love that there was board games in the bar area, free sledges outside overall the best holiday we’ve ever had. No complaints over the food, always plenty of choice but we’re not fussy eaters. Hoping to return next December.
- NicolaStitt (10/5): A lovely family friendly hotel - Stayed for 3 nights on a package holiday with TUI. Arrived at the hotel around lunchtime, unfortunately our room wasn’t ready, check in is at 4pm, so we headed upstairs for lunch. Once our room was ready we headed upstairs, no lift available so had to carry cases up.
Our room was a family room, with a mezzanine floor. The steps to this are very steep, so take care with children. There is a gate at the top. Rooms have a fridge, large wardrobe, kettle and tea/coffee. Large bathroom with excellent shower, and sauna. Beds were very comfortable, and heating was adjustable.
Food in hotel was excellent, lots of choice, with tea/coffee and water available, plus juice at breakfast. Bar in restaurant and also cafe bar downstairs with snacks available. Small shop area with souvenirs beside reception, and also a pool table, air hockey and a couple of other arcade machines.
Large grounds and loads of sledges available for kids. Short walk downhill to the supermarket, giant reindeer and swing.
Would return to this hotel again
- Michael (4/5): - Unglaublich nettes Personal, tolle Landschaft Extrem heruntergekommenes Haus.
Huoneemme lattiasta puuttui esim. Osa lattian linoleumi matosta. Peitin yöpöydällä ennenkuin puoliso näki
Sääli Arkkitehtiä jolle on ehkä aikanaan saneltu tuon "Kioskin" muotoilu.
- Pauli30 (6/5): Breakfast is the only highlight, rooms should be renovated - Visited here for a skiweekend with my kid, basicly everything worked - but property is getting too worn-out for these prices… Explanation is always ”Lappi-style”, but it is really not that you get in real-life. Breakfast was excellent and ”breakfastboat” definitely a precious piece of restaurant art.
Btw, first skiingcentre for a decade where you must pay for a skibus with a Ticket (not hotel’s fault!). But okay, sauna was warm and we got beds to sleep
- Phoebe (9/5): Wonderful breakfasts and dinners. Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of room for clothes. -
- Mikko (8/5): Very good - Sand is carried on shoes from the yard to the rooms and it's everywhere. Access to upstairs could be easier and the breakfast room could be accessed directly from the second floor.
- Debra (8/5): We will be back. - The gentlemen at the front desk were so nice helpful as we navigated the next part of our travels. They were also full of information about the area and transportation. Thanks to Jesse and Osmo!
We loved the sauna in our room and the breakfast was amazing! Nice people there to!
Loved the cross country ski culture
- Tuija (7/5): Good - Worn out hotel but location is good and breakfast is excellent
- Celil (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect !
The location is near to the forest so you can quickly go to see the northern lights, the staff was so friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was a huge buffet,
If you don’t wanna go out for lunch and dinner, the kitchen is pretty good too !
- Mervi (8/5): - Hyvä
- Mikkojii (9/5): Cosy, traditional northern hotel with peaceful atmosphere. -
- Daniel (9/5): Lovely hotel with great staff in a fantastic location. - The whole experience was seamless. The staff were fantastic especially Osmo and Cem who looked after us with support for the bus, facilities and how to get to places. The rooms were clean and spacious. The sauna in the room was a delight after a day skiing out in the cold. The buffet breakfast was great with varied options. It was nice to have the pool table and easy to access the ski storage. The location of the hotel is fantastic with cross country skiing right on the doorstep and the airport bus and ski bus stops right outside. There are shops and restaurants easily accessible from the hotel. The decor is a little tired in the rooms but it really isn't the end of the world.
- Kevin (10/5): Wonderful - Wonderful hotel in a great location. The staff were amazing. Loved it. Nothing, it was perfect.
- lenny80 (10/5): What a place - We did a four day trip to lapland and stayed at this hotel. Had a fantastic time. Hotel staff were brilliant and friendly with the kids. Not far from the shopping centre and frozen lake. (10/15mins)
Only slight issue we did have was the shower, we didn't have any hot water on the last two days. We didn't say anything either so it might have been a small problem that the hotel would have sorted or it might have been the time we were trying to use it.
Food was nice. Breakfast maybe a bit samey but at the same time there was plenty to choice from. Everyone found something to eat.
- liamjt1987 (10/5): Once in a lifetime holiday! - We got back from staying at the Snow Princess on boxing day. The hotel was lovely, warm and welcoming. The food was brilliant quality and the staff were friendly. The sledges were a great touch for the kids. Only 10 minutes walk from the frozen lake. We absolutely loved it!
- Caroline (8/5): Overnight en route from North to Rovaniemi. Easy to access. Wonderful breakfast - Very convenient location. Managed to see Aurora from bedroom window! Large room for a family. Good for an overnight stay. Amazing breakfast! Thin walls meant could hear the neighbours late into the night, and they could hear our required early start despite trying to be as quiet as possible
- W1691COjanetc (10/5): Fantastic holiday - Just got back from our fantastic holiday in lapland. Second time we stayed at this snow princess hotel and cannot fault it. Last year we came here for 3 days and this year for 4 days. Lovely hotel and very friendly staff. Hotel was very clean and warm and food was lovely. A very good choice of food to meet everyone's needs ( even children ). We definitely will be back again.
- acefreely (10/5): Snow princess is great - Just got back from a 3 night Tui package at the Snow Princess aka Yllaskaltio. Very friendly staff and reps, room great for us a family of three. Duplex set up means adults can stay up once kids in bed but still hear them easily.
Food was great. Choice was limited to one or two options each lunch/dinner but quality was always top notch. Sledges available for free outside hotel so lots of fun for kids.
Top tip, put your kid in the sledge and pull them along to the frozen lake (15 min walk behind a supermarket, mini shopping center and pub).
Tui side of things very well organised and Santa village was great. Great memories made, can’t recommend enough.
- R3244RPmarkb (8/5): Hotel Yllaskaltio - Great Choice For Yllas - Along with the hotel Akas, the Yllaskaltio is on the opposite side of the fjell compared with the Saaga. As such, the skiing is more limited (until mid February when the widest reds I have ever seen open), served by drags and tbars (and one chairlift). The pistes will be largely empty. You can access the Saaga side from the top and walking over, or by bus. Ski bus is 5 euro a ride, so include it when purchasing skipass. The hotel is visited by bus in the morning before the Akas hotel, so you will get on it OK. 3km to base station or stay on it to the Saaga side. The hotel is fine, with a small bar and gift shop in the reception area. Meals are taken in the massive dining room upstairs, with views of the resort. Food is the usual buffet, half board and was fine. 10 minutes down the road to the supermarket and some bars. Beer is around 9 euro for 400ml, same across the resort. In Jan/Feb the temperature can be brutal, down to below -30C! The people are fab. Definitely for families and more timid skiers. Wrap up warm!
- Tauno (6/5): - Normaali hotelliyö
- Jussi (7/5): Good - Breakfast was great No aircon and air quality was not that great in the room.
- Sami (4/5): - Todella huonot sängyt. Paikka kaipaa kokonaisuudessaan täyden päivityksen.
- Dubois (7/5): Good - Great Breakfast with a beautiful view - amazing place in winter old rooms with old decoration, hard to find a plug, etc... Not my taste but clean.
- Elodie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (6/5): A basic hotel with friendly staff. - Breakfast was great, Staff was very friendly though and location is good. Sauna was a nice addition. The property is a bit run down already. Room was okay, but needs a little bit of renovations. A little too expensive for what it was worth.
- Jukka (8/5): Perustason hotellihuone saunalla - Perustason hotellihuone omalla pienellä saunalla. Rakennuksen ikä toki näkyy, mutta pienellä vaivalla saisi laadukkaamman vaikutelman, esim. vaihtamalla valaisimiin ehjät polttimot, säätämällä ovia, kiristämällä suihkukahvan pidikkeen ruuvia. Aamiainen maittava, hyvä sänky.
- Markku (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (6/5): Sufficient for weekend , badly over priced - Clean and comfortable, well located. Good food. Dated decor , some facilities were badly advertised (room sauna didn’t work ) skeleton staff
- Aki (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (8/5): Very good - Nice cottage-like feeling in the rooms, in-room sauna, amazingly fresh tap water, great breakfast, close to the “Town center” (shopping mall, restaurants) but also to nature trails etc. Very old
- Matti (8/5): Very good - Reindeer black sausage and Lapland cheese with cloudberry jam was excellent for breakfast! The water from the shower was not warm enough. Clearly it was just bad luck and will be easily repaired.
- Elina (6/5): Ok but cleaning should be improved - Location was good and breakfast was very good The corridors and partly also the room were not clean at all.
- Alexandra (9/5): Superb - Sauna and breakfast were super!! Want to come back in winter
- Arttu (8/5): Very good -
- Pentti (8/5): Nostalgiaa - Majoitus oli odotusten mukainen. Loistava aamupala. Miellyttävä henkilökunta.
- Tarja (10/5): Äkäslompolo -23 - Miellyttävä kokemus, vaikka hotellin yleisilme kaipaa selvästi jo isompaa remonttia.
- Anni (7/5): Good -
- Piritta (9/5): Superb -
- Arnaud (10/5): Exceptional - Well situated; near the lake, which is an excellent spot for Northern lights (w/o street lighning) and very close to good Snowfunsafari where we booked all our excursions, next door to a gourmet restaurant Poro.
The breakfast of the hotel if excellent, large variety of dishes. We enjoyed local and continental breakfast (our doughters loved the self made gauffres :-)
We did not test the dinner.
We also loved there were available slides and local "potkuri" to have a ride on the snow. nothing to say, maybe the sauna in the room which was not working, but we went next door to the common sauna and swimming pool
thanks for everything
- Kaisa (6/5): Pleasant -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Unk (8/5): Very good -
- Aleksei (9/5): Nice place to stay in winter dream - Sauna in the room. Breakfast. Hotel is near the ski running path. From 15 to 20 possible to use a pool and sauna in the hotel placed at 1km from this. Small hairs on bed linens.
- Rahul (8/5): good value for money - good location in Akaslompolo, though the rooms are a bit dated but convenient,
Ruokaravintolan puuttuminen harmitti.
