• Gerard (10/5): Geweldig! - Allerviendelijkste ontvangst, we kregen een wijntje aangeboden. De kamer was niet groot maar prima. Leuk ingericht. Welkomstbrief met Pastel de Natas. Heerlijk. Geweldig ontbijt. Lounge waar je lekker kon relaxen. Zwembad, klein maar fijn. Kortom super verblijf. Je moet niet slecht ter been zijn, maar dat geldt voor heel Lissabon.

The location was a bit off the attractions but quiet, neat and clean. Very civilized. The breakfast was excellent and staff cheerfully arranged transportation and dinner reservations. They excelled at communication before and during our stay. Definitely a highlight of Our Lisbon trip. Too trivial to mention. Great job!

• Niels (7/5): Fijn verblijf met kanttekening. - De inrichting van de receptie en ontbijtzaal is heel sfeervol. Het ontbijt was voldoende gevarieerd. Receptioniste was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Vanuit het hotel ben je met 20 min lopen in een bruisende stad. Wij zaten in kamer 4 en daar waren de gasten in de kamer daarboven goed hoorbaar door een krakende vloer. Met raam open is slapen geen optie door geluid uit zijstraat en vliegverkeer. Gelukkig was er airco op de kamer. Jammer genoeg was het zwembad in onderhoud en dat was ons bij de boeking niet verteld.

Very centrally located we walked to everything that we wanted to see. Our driver Goncalo/George was very accommodating stopping at an ATM for us so we could get some cash. Yummy breakfast in the morning. Enjoyed sitting by the pool for some peace and quiet. Our room was very small and quite noisy on the street side.

• Libor (7/5): Good but not great - Very helpful and nice stuff (people). Clean, great location and also very nice breakfast. I have ordered few months ahead and got completely different room than on pictures/description in the end. The room was very dark and moisty basically without any window! Despite the name of the hotel (Charming House) the room was far from the charming one...but was clean tho and bed was comfy. Still weird odour present and we needed to let fresh air in each time when comming back.

• Ingela (10/5): Jättemysigt hotell på bästa läge - Mycket trevligt hotell på bästa läge. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal, rent och fint. Rummet var rent och välstädat med sköna sängar. Supergod frukost. Mysig uteplats med liten pool. Jag kan varmt rekommendera detta hotell. Vi kommer att bo där igen nästa gång vi är i Lissabon. Luftkonditioneringen fungerade inte så det var ganska varmt när vi skulle sova. Vi hade balkongdörren öppen, men det hjälpte inte mycket plus oväsen från gatan.
• Lies (9/5): - We zijn vriendelijk onthaald en de kamer was ruim. Het meeste personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De locatie was ideaal, niet te ver van het centrum. Er was te weinig ruimte voor het ontbijt. We hebben 2 keer moeten wachten voor we konden ontbijten. Bovendien negeerde de zaalverantwoordelijk ons tot we zelf iets vroegen en ze bood geen oplossingen aan. De airco heeft 3 dagen niet gewerkt omdat het nog niet in zomermodus stond.

Although not exceptionally hot, air con would have been nice but we were still very comfortable in our room, beds super comfy.

It was lovely that the staff recognized our travelling companion’s birthday in the morning! I did not like that we could not turn the air-conditioning on in our unit, it caused me to not sleep for the first night because I was so warm. As Canadians when we travel, we are used to it being a little cooler.

• James (5/5): So so - Centrally located. Room no. 9. The room had low angle ceilings. Doors wouldn’t open all the way. To my knowledge, room 9 is the only one like this. Our friends were in room 14 and all was well. No elevator is a real problem. Staff was available to move in. No one was available to get us out.

Just a bit of a wait on a free table on the second morning. A bit of wait on free table for breakfast and not much space to wait.
• lee (7/5): Enjoyable - Lovely Blonde receptionist (sorry not sure of her name) very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and booked us tuk tuk and Fado. Always had a smile and nothing too much trouble and the other dark haired lady receptionist also very helpful on departure offering us to pop back and have a drink before our departure which we did. No mirror in the bedroom. Disappointed the fact we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary which the hotel knew about and yet our friends staying at the same time were allocated a much bigger room. The breakfast items should be labelled like the juices were as may people have allergies like one of our friends on the trip. Also want to know what types of cheeses / pastries etc.

• Louise (9/5): Lisbon's Hidden Gem - Staff were all amazing and breakfast buffet was excellent. They could not do enough for you and lots of amazing small touches. Location superb. Lots of great recommendations for tours, transfers and eating out. The rooms were rather small but it's an old house so that is hard to change. Floorboards very creaky so some noise from upstairs rooms. But I would still come again as everything else was so great.

• Emelia (8/5): Loved the area and staff. Wouldn’t book again purely because of the cleanliness. - Close to busy area, easy to get around from. Staff were exceptionally lovely and welcoming - always accomodating. The tiles of our bathroom floor were covered in mould. We had to put a towel down and wear shoes when even just using the toilet. I didn’t want to mention it while there so as not to cause an issue - I’m sure they would’ve been aware since they clean the rooms daily and it was definitely hard to miss. Didn’t see much point in requesting to change rooms especially as they seemed fairly booked out.

Un petit déjeuner de qualité et un personnel vraiment charmant. Cet hôtel ressemble a ces hôtels modernes désignés comme des boutique hôtel. Charmant vraiment. Tres bien situé. Merci de votre accueil et bienveillance. Tout petit bémol, les chambres et la salle de bain sont vraiment petites et on entend les voisins marcher.

The room was very clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and I'll say 10stars for the hotel staff: very friendly, responsive and helpful. Always welcoming us with a smile on their faces and willing to help up with everything. We also took the transfer from the airport with them and we had a great experience with Goncalo: all went so smooth. :) We liked everything.

Het personeel sprak uitmuntend goed Engels en het ontbijt was TOP! De kamer is niet ontzettend groot. Wij sliepen aan de tuinzijde dus geen last van straatlawaai 's nachts.

• wendietje (9/5): Heerlijk hotel met ontbijt in het oude centrum - Wat een fijn kleinschalig hotel met perfecte ligging in het oude gedeelte. We kwamen al erg vroeg aan en werden ontvangen met een heerlijke cappuccino. Onze spullen komen we achterlaten, die later toen we terugkwamen al keurig op onze kamer stonden. Kamer was perfect, niet gehorig en ook fijne bedden. Eigenlijk niets. Het enige kleine minpuntje is dat het ontbijt pas vanaf 8 uur is. Dat zou voor mij persoonlijk een uurtje vroeger mogen. Maar dat is ook echt get enige. Het ontbijt was verder perfect. Iedere dag wat anders, TOP!

• Yvonne (10/5): Voor herhaling vatbaar - Wat een fantastisch hotel! Één van de fijnste hotels waar ik ooit ben verbleven. Het personeel is erg gastvrij en vriendelijk, je voelt je er gelijk thuis. Je kan heerlijk binnen en buiten zitten, de kamer is erg schoon en functioneel en het is een goede locatie voor in Lissabon. Een goed ontbijt en de croissants zijn heerlijk :) Niets :)

• Allyson (10/5): Excellent and we will return - Breakfast varied each day with different choices of fruits, cheese, cakes etc. There was also a hot choice every day . Location excellent for reaching city centre or riverfront . Transport was only a two minute walk . Less than 10 minute walk to Santos or Rossio train station. Room was a little on the small side but was adequate for our needs . Shower nice and hot

• sonja (10/5): Immer wieder, woanders ist keine Option mehr!😊 - Eigentlich ein Geheimtipp, den man nicht weitergeben möchte…😉 Sehr charmantes Guest House, mit viel Liebe für‘ s Detail eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich rundherum wohl, eine der schönsten Unterkünfte auf einer insgesamt sehr langen Reise. Warmherziges Personal, das mit Herz die Unterkunft führt und tolle Restauranttipps hat bzw. Reservierungen tätigt, sehr komfortabel. Sehr gutes und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück. Absolut nichts.

• 92micha (10/5): The staff make this place stand out! - I stayed here for a long weekend of solo travel, my first visit to Lisbon. As is usually the case I arrived before check in time, Katie (you know I wouldn’t be able to get it right 😂) made me very welcome and got me a cold drink to relax for five minutes before taking my case and giving me some great ideas where to go for lunch prior to actual check in. On my return my case was in my room - top floor, spacious and spotlessly clean. A treat of Pastel de Nate awaited me with a welcome note and a Nespresso machine was in the room with plenty of capsules. The bathroom also had Rituals shampoo, shower gel and hand wash, as well as a sealed pack toothbrush and toothpaste. I was given a tour and everything was explained, from breakfast to the bar service available. There is tea and coffee aplenty to help yourself to throughout the day and nice lounging areas for relaxing. Location is spectacular and amazingly quiet considering you are in a city! I slept better than I do at home. Breakfast is plentiful and a much better spread than I’ve had in many places previously. The self service includes breads, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, bacon, eggs, cold meats, cheese and of course juices. One of the days my trip started before breakfast and I was given a sandwich, juice and snack to take with me. What really stood out for me and made this stay extra special and over and above are the staff. I can honestly say I have never felt so welcomed and so at home. I had fantastic conversations with Katie, Raphael and Thais who all made me feel like a friend rather than a customer, they asked about my day and where I had been, my plans, and gave great suggestions on food, drink and things to do around my plans. If I had one piece of constructive feedback it would be that lick of paint may be in order, the paint on the stairs corridor showed scuffs and there had clearly been some water damage in my room (it’s an old building - stuff happens) which had been rectified but could do with a bit of redecoration so it wasn’t noticeable. Without a doubt I will be back, I loved every second of staying here!
• La Salete (10/5): FUNtastic! - Amazing spot. Very central. Very confy. The staff are the best. Bewst Hotel in Lisbon. Of only staying for 2 days :D
