We were there late February, which is out of season, and the beach was very quiet. Dining room - small and noisy. Tables outside for breakfast would have been great.

Daarmee ben je gelijk op het strand. Personeel is heel behulpzaam. ‘s avonds kan je er lekker eten. Alleen duurde het erg lang voordat het eten kwam. Mijn vriendin en dochter hadden eten gekregen. Daarna moest ik nog 10 minuten wachten.

Le personnel n’était pas très agréable ni sympathique (on nous demande de payer dès notre arrivée, on ne nous propose pas de porter nos sacs, on nous attribue une table partagée au petit déjeuner alors que des petits tables sont disponibles…etc) De plus les serviettes de piscine sont déchirées ou tachées … Les photos sont très datées Au vu du prix nous avons été très déçus du service

As there were so few people staying at the hotel, perhaps this was understandable.. However, my request to lower the music volume was not met and, if we had been given prior notice, we could have changed our plans for that morning. Considering this was the most expensive hotel during our tour, this was disappointing.

• J (5/5): Erg teleurstellend voor wat je betaald - Locatie naast het strand was perfect. Vriendelijk personeel. Kwaliteit van accommodatie is zeer laag. Kamers zijn erg verouderd en zijn armoedig ingericht. Prijs per nacht is veel te hoog voor wat je krijgt. Avondbuffet zag er slecht uit, weinig variatie. Je kunt beter naar het strand lopen en bij een van de restaurants daar eten. Ontbijt was niet bijzonder.

• Federico (5/5): Troppo caro per quello che offre. - La posizione è molto buona. A pochi metri dalla spiaggia e anche dalla via dove si trovano molti ristorantini con buon cibo a prezzi contenuti. L’aria condizionata era difettosa. Rimaneva accesa solo al massimo per cui era impossibile utilizzarla. Ho segnalato il problema alla reception ma non hanno fatto nulla. Hotel troppo caro per camere fatiscenti.

Notre valise a été visitée et on nous a pris un peu d’euros et de roupies (mais pas tout) qui étaient dans le fond de la valise.c’était pas cool mais c’est sans doute trop tentant !

Der Pool war herrlich, und der Mitarbeiter dort hat uns täglich den besten Eiskaffee gemacht – so aufmerksam und freundlich! Zimmerservice gibt’s hier auch, was in Sri Lanka echt besonders ist. Die Lage ist top, das gesamte Team war super herzlich. Wir waren rundum happy und können es wirklich sehr empfehlen!

It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff couldn't do enough to help. It doesn't have the slickness of a chain resort but for the price we paid we were very satisfied.

• PAVELCHUK (8/5): - Тут достаточно дикое место. Мы приехали за китами. Для такого места отель вполне нормальный, заточен хоть как-то под европейский. Океан рядом, на океане есть хорошее кафе, самое ближнее направо. Лежаки бесплатно на пляже, при условии заказа из меню. Мы брали по напитку и все. За территорию отеля особо ходить не зачем, с учетом что там нет ничего, только можно съездить в местные храмы. Завтрак швецкий стол, ну конечно ни как мы привыкли, но не плохой. Ресторан на территории отеля, тоже с нормальной едой, единственное что надо официантам все говорить подробно и несколько раз, не очень они понимают. За ребенка, за завтрак, мы платили отдельно 8$(указали что 2 чел приедем при бронировании). Уборка так себе, не всегда меняли полотенца. Стаканы в баре бывало грязные. Так же много комаров, на улице не посидишь в темноте. И в номере нет фумигатора, берите с собой. Но мы спали с вентилятором и нормально.

• Roman (8/5): Alles gut, bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten - An sich ist die Unterkunft sehr gut. Es gibt hier und da ein paar Verbesserungen die man angehen könnte. Beispielsweise das Frühstück war sehr mau. Das Frühstück, Hoteleigener Strand ist eigentlich nicht vorhanden, es stehen zwar Liegen da, diese sind aber gestapelt und angekettet.

• Lewis (6/5): Great location but slightly disappointing stay - Gorgeous location. The pool area is beautiful. The staff were all incredibly helpful. Our room was spacious and clean. Really overpriced (for the area) at £220 per night. It’s more expensive than a lot of hotels in the area and we expected more luxury than what the hotel offered. Basics could be improved on. Examples which spring to mind: our room smelling like drainage, the tea & coffee included in the morning breakfast was from a sachet, the wifi wasn’t very good, a cable box provided with the TV but with a plug that doesn’t fit the wall socket. When you’re paying a premium price and some of the basics aren’t there, it’s more disappointing.

• Andre (8/5): Trincomalee im Anantamaa eine Reise wert - Neben der Lage des Hotels ist das Personal unfassbar freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alle Wünsche wurden unmittelbar in die Tat umgesetzt. Das Hotel hat einen eigenen Zugang zum Strand und ist fußläufig nur knapp 4 Minuten von der Fernando‘s Beach Bar entfernt. Direkt am Strand ist es möglich Schnorcheltrips oder Dolphin Watching Touren zu buchen. Das Hotel bietet auch solche Touren an, aber sind etwas teurer. Vielleicht kann man etwas handeln😉. In die Stadt Trincomalee sind es etwa 15 Minuten mit dem Tuk Tuk. Unser Zimmer war großzügig und hatte einen schönen Balkon mit Blick auf den Pool. In der direkten Umgebung des Hotels gibt es einige kleine Restaurants. Für Leute die ein ausgiebiges und üppiges Frühstück bevorzugen, die Information, dass das Frühstück recht schlicht gehalten ist, aber aus unserer Sicht völlig ausreichend und lecker war.

• Wilfred (8/5): Decent place to spend Christmas - We had a pleasant two-night stay here over Christmas. I was a bit worried by some of the reviews, but I needn’t have been. It was the most expensive place we stayed at in Sri Lanka, but we were happy to pay for the experience we had. The hotel itself is a decent size, it doesn’t feel too big, and it has a good-sized, well-kept pool that I enjoyed swimming in many times. The pool was generally fairly quiet (although not always - see my negative points), and there were times when we had it all to ourselves. The room was comfortable, with a nice bed, a strong shower, good AC, and a kettle with tea and coffee that was replenished daily. Mosquitos were not a problem! The hotel has its own private access to the (public) beach, with eight sun loungers for hotel guests on the sand at the point that the private path meets the beach. The beach itself is very pretty, but note that the water is very shallow and, at least when we were there, the waves were quite rough, so it was not possible to swim in the ocean. It was easy to walk to other restaurants along the beach front. There was a nice mix of Sri Lankan guests and foreigners. However, it was Christmas, and so perhaps this wasn’t usual. Once or twice, in the evenings, a bit of a party atmosphere arose down by the pool, with loud music and fairly loud guests. We stayed in our room when this happened - it wouldn’t have been nice to go for a swim. We ate lunch from the à la carte menu at the hotel’s restaurant, after we checked out, and the experience was quite disappointing. The food was relatively expensive, took over an hour to come, and the portions were very small, and unfortunately it was not very tasty – my grilled prawns for instance were very dry, and moreover, what came was not exactly what was listed on the menu (different sauce and vegetables). Dogs – One evening we ventured out of the hotel to try and find a restaurant on one of the nearby roads, but it was a scary experience – there was no street lighting, and there were many stray dogs, some of which would bark at us aggressively. Subsequently, we would only walk along the beach at dark, not the roads (although the beach has its own stray dogs). Occasionally there were stray dogs in the grounds of the hotel, too. The AC broke once, but the staff fixed it in fairly short order.

• Niklas (9/5): Gutes Hotel - Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön aufgebaut und die Zimmer sind im hervorragenden Zustand. Zudem hat das Hotel auch eine sehr gute Entfernung zum Strand. Den Weg dahin erreicht man ganz leicht über das Gelände vom Hotel. Der Pool ist schön groß und bietet eine Menge Platz um sich abzukühlen. Im nahen Umkreis zum Hotel sind relativ viele kleine Restaurants, die wirklich gut sind. Außerdem gibt es zwei Läden, wo man alles findet, was man eben so braucht. Am Abreisetag durften wir trotz Check out noch im Zimmer bleiben, da wir leider erst 17 Uhr abgeholt wurden. Der Pool war zu unserem Reisezeitpunkt nicht gerade sauber. Es waren oft viele Blätter im Pool, was an dem Aufbau der Anlage zum Verhängnis hat. Das eigene Restaurant kann man problemlos meiden und einfach „draußen“ essen gehen.

• Leda (8/5): great place - Probabilmente si puo' trovare di meglio in termini di rapporto qualità/prezzo, visto che in zona ci sono molte strutture a prezzi veramente stracciati. Tuttavia bisogna notare che l'hotel e' dotato di un'ampia e ben tenuta piscina all'interno di un bel giardino ed e' a soltanto 20 metri dalla spiaggia. La mia camera era ampia, perfettamente pulita, silenziosa e dotata di tutti i comfort. Tutte le camere hanno un terrazzo o una piccola veranda . A differenza della maggior parte degli hotel, nel ristorante si mangia bene, il cibo e' cucinato e presentato in maniera professionale, i prezzi non si discostano da quelli dei ristoranti esterni, dove di solito si mangia anche male. Lo staff in generale e' molto cortese ed efficiente. Nelle camere manca l'elenco dei numeri da chiamare, in particolare per contattare reception, room service e laundry. Sarebbe opportuno lasciare nelle camere anche il menu' del ristorante e del room service. Nel giardino manca un cartello che indichi il breve sentiero da percorrere per raggiungere la spiaggia.

• Guest (10/5): у нас ночь со скидкой вышла 70$ за номер на двоих, это я считаю даже дорого, если без скидки вообще смысла нет , лучше п - территория зеленая , много деревьев, рыбки рядом с бассейном , бассейн чистый, расположение рядом с пляжем, есть 8 лежаков на пляже под деревьями очень уставший номер, даже не захотела делать фото, белье постельное старое, местами рваное , полотенца желтые и тоже видимо никогда не менялись с открытия этой гостиницы, шампунь и гель для душа видимо наливают в одни и те же маленькие бутылочки, если людей прибавляется соответственно лежаков на море не будет потому что их всего 8 и те половину сломаны, полотенца пляжные выдают без проблем , но тоже очень старые … завтраки яичницу если попросить сделают , есть особо не чего, чай кофе ( растворимый)

La cama era muy comoda, el aire acondicionado y el ventilador enfriaban muy bien Creo que la relación calidad-precio es baja si comparamos lo que pagamos con las condiciones del hotel y con el resto de hoteles de Sri Lanka. La habitación bastante básica. Lo peor la piscina que estaba bastante sucia, algo llamativo teniendo en cuenta que en este país todo está como los chorros del oro. El desayuno también bastante mediocre
• Susanna (6/5): Ein schönes Hotel in toller Lage, welches ganz stark abgebaut hat :-( - Das Zimmer inklusive Bad ist sehr sauber, der Sitzbereich vor dem Zimmer draußen ist ebenfalls sauber und nett gestaltet / ansprechend. Das Bett ist bequem. Man erreicht innerhalb von einer Minute über ein Tor und einen schmalen Gang zwischen den Hotels den Strand und es sind nur wenige Minuten zum ersten kleinen Supermarkt. Es ist unser zweiter Aufenthalt im Antanamaa Hotel. Mit entsprechenden guten / hohen Erwartungen sind wir angereist. Man hat uns weder gesagt, wie man zum Strand kommt, noch erklärt von wann bis wann es Frühstück gibt oder ab wie viel Uhr das Hotelgelände abgeriegelt wird. Letzteres wurde uns zum Verhängnis. Als wir um 22:30 Uhr von einer Bar ins Hotel wollten, war das hohe Tor abgeriegelt. Rufen und Klopfen brachte nichts. Telefonisch war das Hotel ebenfalls nicht erreichbar. Erst nachdem mein Mann über das Tor geklettert ist, hat uns ein Hotelgast geholfen, einen Wachmann zu finden, der mich dann reingelassen hat. Das Wasser im Pool war trüb und voller Laub. Niemand hat ihn benutzt. Die Liegen am Pool waren dreckig. Der Strandabschnitt, der zum Hotel gehört, war total zugemüllt. Das alles war bei unserem ersten Aufenthalt ganz anders. Andere Hotels hingegen haben ihren schön aufgeräumt. Unsere Klimaanlage ging in der ersten Nacht kaputt, man hat sich recht schnell darum gekümmert, was wir positiv bewerten möchten. jedoch ist sie in der dritten Nacht leider wieder ausgefallen. Wir schreiben wirklich so gut wie nie eine schlechte Bewertung, sind aber diesmal wirklich sehr enttäuscht von unserem Aufenthalt.
• Frank (9/5): Extrem freundliche Mitarbeiter - War gut
• Benjamin (3/5): kann es leider nicht weiterempfehlen, Hotel schlechter Zustand und zu teuer für das was einem geboten wird. - leider nicht wirklich viel, außer der Pool Anlage aktuell in Baumaßnahmen, muss dazu sagen bin zur low Saison hier. wenige Gäste vor Ort deshalb wenig Interesse auch an deren Gäste. wenig hilfreich, schlechtes Englisch. Zimmer in einem schlechten Zustand, Schimmel, Handtuch Halter abgefallen nach Beanstandung wieder notdürftig aufgehängt und beim benutzen wieder abgefallen. habe es denen bei Abreise mit auf die Rezeption gestellt. kaum Wasserdruck ein Rinnsal kam mir entgegen.
• Osinga (6/5): - mooi zwembad , goed gelegen dicht aan het strand. Personeel erg aardig. geen klamboe , betalen voor drinkwater , geen wifi verbinding in de kamer, badkamer verouderd en achterstallig onderhoud. Het personeel was erg aardig, maar toch waren er een aantal punten waarop ze voor de relatief hoge prijs wat te kort schieten. zo kwam het ontbijt 2x veel te vroeg waardoor we wakker werden gemaakt en waren ze vergeten om de kamer schoon te maken. Dit werd achteraf nog wel gecorrigeerd.
