Guest Reviews
- Larry (9/5): excellent - location, river view
- Dena (9/5): Was ok for a quick one night stay. - Room was.clean. Breakfast was ok. Toilet was old and needed to be replaced.
- Philip (10/5): -
- Shelli (4/5): Disappointed but we made the best of it - I liked the pillows, handles for tub use, hand held shower, granite like counters, fanned cloth, outside view of tub area, I love the big rhododendrons and the Veterans Park next door, I liked it that the second hand store was across the street and that there was a jewelry store next door.
I thought the front desk clerk was nice and I really appreciated her being able to get me into the room early.
I liked it that they had a workout room.. it was very sparse and I would have liked to have had the workout units face the street with all the parade and stuff going on.
I really appreciated the breakfast spread and had fun talking to folks in there having breakfast and the hostess was nice.
Cool art piece in there. Parking lot view versus river view, carpet snag, stains, chipped paint on cupboard, greasy beads of some sort on floor, crumbled up spider, musty smell when you walk in especially, wrinkles in bedspread, ruffed up bench missing fabric on edge, and especially gaping holes inside shower area where rod once broke away from wall.
I imagine spy cameras in those holes in the plaster or spiders or mice coming in
I have never in my lifetime paid $200 for a room.. so I was imagining luxury kind of like the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Hawaii that I once wanted to stay in for $200 that I couldn't afford.
I guess I really wanted this one to be so special because I was splurging on my mom for a late Mother's Day celebration.
I was just disappointed because the Vista Villa or whatever that one is on the corner of 101 and 9th Street was just about as nice it seems.
I know Super 8 was nicer and I spent $100 on that and felt like I was really splurging, so I guess for $230 I just really wanted that view, and no dents snags smudges holes you know.
I wanted it to feel like a real luxury experience. I think the smell was the first funk feeling that I got when I walked in the room.
I've stayed in really nice rooms in Florence for $100 and I have stayed in nicer rooms that were in the $200 range that I got for free at the casino.
I thought this Hotel was closer to the middle of Bay street, so it was more of a walk then I expected with my disabilities also.. but that's my bad for not looking at the map closer.
I just thought it was by the bus stop near the little park closer to the middle of Bay Street.
Then when the car show happened I think it was, they wouldn't let us down to the hotel and we could have had a good view from there.. so there were hours that we wanted to be in our room, that we couldn't even get there during the festival..
- A. (7/5): - Am Rand der „Altstadt“
Gutes Frühstück
- William M. (9/5): -
- Janet (10/5): Nice place - Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast
- James (5/5): Great location, clean and comfy. Breakfast was ok.. - Nice bed Upstairs people were extremely noisy jumping and stomping around. Heard and felt noises both nights till after midnight.
- Cheryl (9/5): Very nice hotel overlooking the river in a very cute town - Very nice hotel on the river The loud whistling from the nearby bridge is annoying and never stops
- Michelle (8/5): -
- Reina (10/5): Clean room and great location! - Cleanest room we stayed on our trip down 101. It was within walking distance to downtown.
- William (8/5): -
- Marsha (7/5): The bridge is constantly a noise concern. Also, when booking we were unaware that you enter your room from the outside. - The property is on the river with a nice view. Older property that needs updating.
- Gregory (3/5): Overpriced for poor quality of room - Small room, very small balcony, TV channel selections were poor, room size made it uncomfortable, old screen and tear in screen door,
- Kevin (8/5): Great location, nice view of the river - Perfect location in Old Town Florence. Nicely updated rooms and furnishings. Friendly staff. Ample parking despite the hotel being booked full. There was little sound insulation between rooms, we could hear our neighbor coughing
- David W (8/5): -
- Jones (10/5): - I loved their little fitness room, laundry facilities were open 24 hrs and breakfast was amazing. Super short walk to a beautiful old town Main Street.
- Maria (9/5): -
- Laurie (7/5): -
- Dawn (9/5): Always a great place to stay - It’s clean and has a great location! Nothing
- Guest (3/5): -
- a6d460fd132070669b52221e301c4393 (8/5): Great place if you are deaf - Next to Old Town so good walking Next to Super noisy hwy 101 bridge … had to wear earplugs to sleep
- 8ff9b10b131e729f793a289321894a5e (7/5): Lack of sleep - Remodeled, clean Bridge noise!
- Cynthia (8/5): -
- Brian (5/5): - Location and view was amazing Hot tub in the room was broken. It wouldn't fill or stay filled
- Kim (8/5): Always a nice stay! - room was recently remodeled and was very nice.
The view on the river is excellent! The bed was hard as a rock!
- L (4/5): -
- XIN (7/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): Best stay I’ve had on the Oregon coast - Room was newly remodeled, view was gorgeous, breakfast had warm eggs, sausage and pancakes. The complementary soaps had very toxic chemicals in them. Bring your own
- Logan (10/5): -
- Alisa (10/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): A very comfortable and reasonable hotel. - Convenient…a short walk to the town. The staff was wonderful. Breakfast was fine and the woman who was in charge was just so helpful and wonderful.
- Jennifer (7/5): - Very comfortable bed! Excellent location. Super thin walls and floors/ceilings. We could hear both below and next to us pretty easily.
- JenniferM9663 (10/5): Clean and comfy - Friendly staff, nice and clean room. Great location near dining and shopping.
- David (6/5): - The location was good. Staff were friendly. The online check in worked well. The room and bathroom were clean. The TV didn't work and the bedside clock didn't work.
- Rachelle (6/5): If it wasn’t for the location. I think the hotel needs an upgrade and it wasn’t cheap for what we got in the middle of w - The location on the river was awesome, but we did upgrade to the river view room. The bed was comfortable It was a bit run down. Something’s needed to be fixed (faucets). The room were a little dingy, marked up, no color, ugly furniture.
- Maria (10/5): -
- Adventure31480995343 (8/5): Amazing location - Great location! Walkable to all the shops & restaurants along downtown. Friendly staff. The room was good, it’s your standard hotel room, comfy bed great views of the water and sand dunes.
Reason for 4 stars instead of 5, thin walls we heard every conversation from our neighbors on both sides of us and i would ask for a top floor room because at 4 am we heard whoever above us walking around and moving everything, so we didn’t sleep as great as we would of liked.
They offer comp breakfast in the morning which was decent for a free meal. I would come back for sure i would just get a top floor room.
Also if it’s raining be careful on the left hand side (looking towards the hotel) of the establishment on the wooden planks they are very very slippery by the stairs! My husband slipped and fell & i heard a couple other people almost went down too!
- Butenschoen (8/5): Perfect for what we needed. Service was really good. - Location and service. N/A
- Johnsen (8/5): -
- Everett (6/5): Stay was fine although it seemed pretty expensive for an off season stay. - Initial room was not as expected layout was unusual an did not match photos. Staff worked with us and got us another room that was much more acceptable. Breakfast offerings were pretty marginal.
- Andrea (10/5): Perfect Getaway - Stayed for Christmas and the staff was so sweet! Breakfast was yummy. Bed was soft, I slept great! It was quiet and cozy. Perfect location. I didn't want to leave!
- Nicolette (10/5): I met with long time friends I hadn’t seen who moved to Florence several years ago. - Staff all very friendly and kind. Complimentary breakfast simple (I like simple). The location to old town was unbelievable. I had no idea when I booked as my very first time to Florence, OR. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. Well, maybe the weather on the day I departed. It was pouring and my suitcase fell in the puddle by my car. HAHA.
- Lisa (10/5): A must stay! The view is beautiful - The view is everything Nothing
- Rebecca (8/5): Great place for the money. Would stay again. - Room was older but nice, Good breakfast. N/a
- STEVEN (3/5): - The bed was good No ventilation
No air conditioning
No heating
Breakfast was bad
- Suzanne (9/5): Perfect weekend getaway, clean and friendly. - The stay was perfect, and the only issue (not due to the accommodations) was the growling noise of the bridge as cars drove across (I do recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper.) Otherwise, it was perfect
- Steve (7/5): -
- Cory (9/5): Will stay again. - The Hotel was very nice and clean. The river view was wonderful. The Staff was great and the breakfast was as expected. Close to downtown and all the great restaurants. The bridge noise was there but not too much of a hindrance.
- Mark (3/5): Will chose another place next time - location Walls way too thin, could hear conversations in next door rooms. Hot water sucked, couldn't take a bath!! Electric car plug now cost customers
- Jef (9/5): -
- Jason (9/5): -
- Keith (7/5): -
- Blake (6/5): It was over-priced for how old and out of date the facility was. - The place was clean and easy to find and close to town. I had a ground floor room, right next to the laundry room. I could hear the washing machines and dryers running, but eventually fell asleep. I woke up to people outside my door around 1 am, I had a hard time going back to sleep, because my room was too hot and there was no A/C in the room and since I was on the ground fllor, no windows that could be opened...
- Lois (10/5): -
- Cathy (10/5): Great staff, place is old, but hey we’re all doing our best right?! - Odd Just logistics. Small area, poor non- nutritious choices.
- William (9/5): -
- Gregory (10/5): - Close to everything
- Frederick (7/5): -
- Jamie (5/5): - The mattress
- Danny (10/5): -
- Cheryl (7/5): - The location makes it perfect. It is noisy due to its proximity to the beautiful bridge.
- Lynette (10/5): -
- Corin (10/5): Great stay - Walking distance from the center of town great view I have no complaints. I liked everything about the property.
- David (4/5): The bed was like laying on plywood - Location Thought I had a river view
- Spencer (9/5): -
- Lilibeth (10/5): - Bed The shower ran out of got water.
- Corin (10/5): Great stay all around - Loved my room over looking bay. Room was clean and comfortable. Location to walk downtown. Staff exceptionally hospitable. All around great experience. I have zero complaints
- Lorie (8/5): -
- Amlin (2/5): A terrible experience, will not stay again - Breakfast served was about the only highlight of our stay. Had requested a lower floor room as I have a bad hip and stairs are a struggle, but was told there weren't any lower rooms available. 32 steps later to reach a second story room which was extremely drab. Cold LVP flooring, rusty heater vents, bathtub with "stuff" left in it, noisy corner unit, balcony which felt shaky to stand on. I has specifically stated we were staying for my birthday and was expecting a little more from this hotel. We have stayed before and was acceptable, which is why we re-booked. This trip will be the last time we stay here. Almost everything
- Sabrina (8/5): - Personnel très sympa, motel propre et comfortable, bien équipé, avec une buanderie et une salle de sport. Le petit déjeuner n’est pas exceptionnel, peu de choix.
- Nancy (7/5): Comfort close to old town. - The location and how quiet it was. Our towel rack bar fell off the wall, our toilet seat cracked and we had difficulty getting into our room using our card.
- Loren (9/5): Clean, comfortable and right on the edge of Old Town Florence - Beautiful view, close to Old Town. The noise from the bridge. But the sliding glass doors did a pretty good job of keeping that out. Just not super relaxing with them open in the afternoon.
- Nielsen (10/5): - Nice breakfast
- sirrand1 (8/5): Great stay in beautiful Florence - This is a great motel in picturesque Florence, Oregon, located right along the river and within easy walking distance of all the neat little shops and restaurants. My room was spacious and well fitted out, and it was quiet and I felt very comfortable and safe. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the River House.
- labeach247 (10/5): Very quaint place with great staff and a good breakfast. - Very cute hotel in such a quaint town. The location is perfect and had a good breakfast. Sarah at the front was super sweet and gave us some good intel on the town. Ashilea was there when we had breakfast. Also super sweet and fun to talk to while we ate. Really liked our stay. Thank you!
- Gregory (8/5): -
- Kirby (8/5): - Breakfast was very good, can't beat the location. Ice bucket should be in the room
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very nice room; great view
- Kiffini (5/5): Ok place to sleep and shower - It’s convenient to the waterfront and the cute little shops There’s no AC in the rooms. The furniture was in disrepair and had been painted as a way to freshen it up
- Glenna (3/5): OK place for a quick stay - Location was good, especially if you want to walk to the downtown area at the river. It is right under the historic bridge going over the river so a nice view of that area. Beds were pretty comfortable. Bathroom fan was good at getting rid of bathroom steam quickly. The hotel is pretty run down. Our room had many items that could have used repair/TLC. It is also pretty noisy with other room noise, especially from above if you are on the ground floor. Our bathtub barely drained so it was sort of dirty. We were told we would have full linen change service on Sunday but nothing was done, and no maid service at all in between. You had to request anything you might need and they would bring it, but our room was pretty messy after 3 days and 3 people in it. It would also have been nice to have at least 1 USB plug for charging items, there were not very many plugs in the room.
- Daniel (9/5): Conveniently location to Old Town, clean rooms and super friendly staff. - Super clean, staff very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Walking distance to Old Town shops, restaurants and river. Located next to Veteran’s Memorial park too. Would have nice to have access to room above breakfast to play games and cards.
- Eric (7/5): Beautiful river view (request it as not all rooms face the river.) Decent room. - Room was decent, River view was excellent. Breakfast was ok. Great location with several restaurants within walking distance. Good parking. Maintenance was a little funky, but not a huge deal. Who puts a long toilet seat on a round toilet bowl? The highway bridge has steel grating and was pretty noisy when cars and trucks drove over it. Might bother you if you're noise sensitive. I stayed here in October so heat was not an issue, but I don't think these rooms have A/C. Could be an issue in August.
- Karl (9/5): -
- Bonnie (3/5): Over priced. - Clean bathroom & comfortable bed. Stained carpet, stained chair, outdated decorative and furniture.
- Shelly (8/5): - No balcony view because no balcony! Not happy that there is no option for fresh outdoor air in this first floor room--window does not open and no fan setting on the thermostat. Otherwise, room is clean, well-maintained, and well-appointed.
- April (10/5): -
- Kim (8/5): - The view from our room.
- Wendy (7/5): Nice place, but noisy - Great view, very nice room, comfortable bed. Pretty good breakfast. Bridge traffic is very noisy going over metal area.
Upstairs occupants were running shower and other water around 2 am. It was very noisy and kept us awake for about 45 minutes.
- Richard (7/5): - The location was amazing! Older bathroom
- Helen (10/5): - Great river view. Comfortable bed and very close walking distance to bars and restaurants. Breakfast quite limited but ok.
- Todd (10/5): - Room was clean and quiet other than some noise from the bridge over the river nearby, but that completely went away at night. View of the river was nice. Beds were hard and pillows were flat (seemed to be standard for the West Coast). Breakfast was decent for Continental. Nice place to stay on a West Coast trip!
- Stelio (8/5): - Essentials only in the functional room and property. Not much to differentiate it. Thankful for the easy late night check in. Free parking on site was good to have.
- Mark (4/5): Overpriced for the value of room. - Location. Overlooking the bay, it was wonderful Broken screen to slider. The room was worn and tattered. The cost of the room was too high for its look and feel. We have stayed just up in Lincoln for a much better room with fireplace and view, much better shower system, for less than what we were charged here.
- Gloria (9/5): We go to Florence a couple of times a year and always stay at the River House Inn. - The room was very comfortable and the beds wee fantastic. Loved being on the river, even though we couldn't see it. We knew we could just walk a few steps to get there. My husband is disabled, so going up the stairs was a bit of a chore, but we made it.
- Patricia (10/5): Hotel, staff and location were perfect! We couldn’t have asked for any better. -
- Linda (10/5): -
- Jeanne (8/5): Have stayed before, Will stay again. - Love the location, walkable to restaurants, bars, shopping, and the view of the bay is awesome. Highly recommend the sand dune buggy rides across the bridge nearby. Prices have really jumped up higher. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- Marco (8/5): - La ubicación. Está a pocos metros del viejo pueblo El precio. Bastante elevado. El doble de lo que veníamos pagando por moteles similares.
