- stacyh990 (6/5): Location is great, the rest not so great - The quiet area and views from this place are what saves it in my opinion. This âresortâ is very tired and rundown in many areas. Iâm not normally too picky about the specific look of things when I travel, but the reality is, things are falling apart at this place and if definitely all needs a good update. Peeling wallpaper, filthy rug, missing paint, water dripping onto the outside sitting area outside our room, filthy ceiling fan, tub and accessories old and rusty, a broken mirror that had been semi fixed at one pointâŚ.. the list goes on. I will say that for the most part we enjoyed our stay but it was hard to look past these many fixable things. We would consider staying again if updates were made and things were much more clean.
- Rob (8/5): -
- Ellen (8/5): Wonderful waterfront getaway.highlt recommend. - Location, waterfront wonderful. Having a full kitchen was great. I found the mattress quite firm ,husband was fine with it.
- Martha (8/5): -
- Annemarie (8/5): Excellent location.Kitchenette is well appointed - Beautiful location Some of the decor needs to be replaced, for example, bedside lamp did not work, nicks in the paint, noisy fan etc.
- Anna (6/5): - I would have liked to check in earlier. Check-in is 5 p.m. NO time to enjoy the patio looking at the water.
- McCutcheon (8/5): -
- Mark (5/5): - Location excellent, nice little town. Unit was spacious. Property is in need of significant maintenance. Temporary bracing for concrete stairs, paint peeling, uneven pavements, overall very dated.
- Josee (10/5): -
- Marina (10/5): - The hotel is right on the water . Amazing view.We had 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit with kitchen that is very spacious and clean. Reception staff was very friendly.
- Cathy (8/5): - This property is excellently located with beautiful sunrise views over the harbour, right from your room. The main street, restaurants, shops, walking trails, river and fish ladder are all within walking distance so no need to drive and park elsewhere. The town is quiet and peaceful as is the harbour.
The rooms are very large with full kitchen and dining table as well as sitting area with sofas. There is a large deck with patio tables and lounge chairs over looking the boats in the harbour. The property itself is a bit tired looking and could use some doors replaced, but it is clean.
- Viorel (8/5): - The view is stunning, the studio room is big and the bed comfortable, staff is nice. We liked that is't close to beach and all night we heard the waves which was relaxing for us. We'll stay again here.
Thank you for the wonderful experience
- Julius (4/5): - poor lighting, no switch to turn off light from bed, the unit
has too many levels and steps. dangerous for senior
people.. security level on door missing
sink in bathroom not draining properly
- Brandon (10/5): - It was a great place for the night
- Pauline (9/5): The perfect homebase for biking to Collingwood and Meaford on the incredible rail trails. -
- Jessica (9/5): -
- Tymon (10/5): -
- Christine (8/5): - Clean, fabulous location .
- Donald (8/5): - The front house staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
The location and view was amazing! The pool needed to be warmer.
The unit we stayed in was a nice size but lacked in decor and ambiance!
- Laurie (10/5): We will definitely be back! - Location and view was amazing Pool was cool and hot tub jets didnât all work
- phetsamone (10/5): - Clean room,Staff friendly,Parking
- Nancy (10/5): - Loved the location! And the view of Georgian bay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our favorite Resort we came here 4-5x already!
- Pecorella (3/5): Terrible horrible very bad stay. - The location was great. Literally steps from the bay. The room was old and dilapidated, and should have never been assigned. The water is brown so donât bother taking a bath. It was like we walked into a storage locker that was turned into a hotel rectangle. Dead bugs on carpeted stairs, split walls. Paint peeling. Mildew all over the bathroom, and a shower that puts more water outside the curtain than inside. Then there was the dirty appliances and dish rack and the couch that had the grime from many a guest who overstayed their welcome. The staff are clueless and lazy with more excuses than solutions. This is not a resort, this was a cheap motel in disguise. In fact Iâve stayed at cleaner and more updated Howard Johnsonâs.
- Keith (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay.
- Durwyn (9/5): Clean, great location. - Clean, great views Outside of windows were dirty, spider webs.
- reza (10/5): - A nice place for family
- Paula (8/5): - Older hotel but clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the lake.
- David (8/5): -
- Secil (9/5): It is a nice hotel especially when you are travelling with kids. Great location and amenities. - This was our 4th time at this hotel. We love the location. We love that they have thought about all little details for your room. You can find anything you need and more in the room. Their check-in time is 4pm. It is VERY late. When you start a vacation, you wanna start with getting settled in your room. They should change it to an earlier time. 2pm is more common...
- Daria (7/5): -
- Denise (9/5): -
- Zhongmin (10/5): - fantastic in-door water view
- Terri (8/5): - The place was nice and the location great. The room seemed a bit tired and needed some updating. A bigger TV with Netflix would have been an improvement too. It was nice and quiet and the bed was good.
- William (10/5): Loved the stay - Beautiful, fully furnished loft, right across the street from the beach, small harbor. The staff are friendly and serviceable.
Wife is vegan so fully furnished kitchen was great, wi-fi and tv, living room with sofa-bed. Bigger 2 room accommodations available.
- Isabelle (10/5): - Great location on Georgian Bay, with beach access in the charming town of Thornbury
- Dianne (7/5): - Location and view of water. The rooms need complete updating for such a nice site.
- Shafayath (10/5): - Excellent location
- Dwayne (7/5): - The location is excellent. Ground floor bay view. Walkout to the water and a nice view of the harbour. No need to drive anywhere once there as everything is within walking distance. Rooms are a little dated but well stocked with everything you need to make any meals. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are very spacious. Front desk ladies are very pleasant and helpful when asked questions about the area and best places to eat. The only issue was the pool was not heated and the water was very cold. Refreshing due to the heat outside but still a little too cold. A hot tub and sauna made up for that. I will definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone who plans to visit the area and is looking for accommodations. The pool was not heated but will not stop me from staying here again.
- Deborah (8/5): Great area, hotel accessibility issues. - The hotel is right across from yacht harbour. Property offers indoor pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, bbqâs, fitness rooms overlooking waterfront. Sweet girl at front desk. Bed mattress comfortable. Good kitchen amenities. However we were on the bottom floor and I use a cane, and the unit had serveral sets of steps INSIDE of it, including down into the bed area. The sizeable unit , was long and narrow with the bathroom right to the side at the entrance and the sleeping area by the sliding glass doors on the opposite end. You had to leave a light on so not to hurt yourself going to the bathroom tripping on the stairs during the night. I am guess these interior stair issues were just on bottom level to accommodate building being built into the hill. There are no elevators so there are only stairs for the upper levels. Would definitely go back if they could solve accessibility issues. Problem for me, and also my sister whoâs family was staying on same level as us, Gorgeous area , great town.
- Tsz Tsun Charlton (9/5): Out of my expectations. - They have all the kitchenware you could have, feels like home and cooked our dinner and breakfast with ease. Enjoyed the spacious suite with huge living room, two bathrooms, front and back to leave the suite and excellent view. Clean environment. Also a small TV in one of the bedroom! The only setback there is providing oven without aluminum foil.
- Harshal (9/5): Excellent - Location, view from the room and hot tub near pool
- Bradly (8/5): - Liked the view and the room. Nice setup with the beach, peir and downtown close by. The suite a little dated but roomy and well stocked with cookware. Cutting board was gross, returned it to front desk and they didn't bring me a clean one like they said thy would. Could use a rocking chair in the suite. Cushions and couches frumpy And dated. Over all enjoyed our stay
- Peter Carl (8/5): - Pull out mattress wasn't very good
- Gary (10/5): Great location, wonderful staff - Location is exceptional A bit dated
- Olena (8/5): - The room is nice and big, clean, friendly staff, the lady in front desk is amazing! we booked 2 bedrooms, itâs so comfy for our family. Sure we will come back to this place! Thanks for doing your job!
- Jeff (4/5): - Very dated
- James (10/5): Best stay ever - This place was great from the time we checked until we left beds were nice and comfortable
- Thiruvarangan (9/5): Superb -
- Rosy (8/5): - Love the view and their balcony
- Hendrick (10/5): - Great location!
- Teresa (8/5): - The property is located in a beautiful quaint area over looking the marina. The view is gorgeous. There is a beach across the street. Bring your water shoes as itâs a rock beach.
The rooms are somewhat clean but can definitely use an upgrade. The resort itself is very outdated. Staff is friendly.
- Diane (8/5): - I
loved the location. Right on the water Check in wasnât until 5.
- Pease (7/5): Good -
- Patrick (4/5): - Expensive fee for one night in a very dated room that looked like it hadnât been updated since the 90âs. Not great water pressure and room was very strangely laid out.
- Wai Kit (6/5): - Good location, beach is across the street. Lots of parking in back.
- Alexis (8/5): - It was sufficient for one night.
- Ted (10/5): - I was very happy with our stay.. there are a lot of reviews about rooms being âdatedâ OK they are not brand new but extremely clean and a fantastic locationâŚ
Donât miss out on this beautiful little town and all it has to offerâŚ
- Timothy (10/5): - Great location, beautiful scenery and town
Spacious unit with sitting area and kitchen
Helpful staff
Decor beginning to show its age
- Ljiljana (10/5): Excellent stay - Our stay was great
- JOHN (6/5): - Resort is showing its age.
Efficiency unit we occupied needs major renovations. It was dirty and full of flies on check-in. Had to purchase Raid as fly swatter was the only solution offered by front desk.
Water in both hot tub and pool was murky.
A leak in lobby ceiling was dripping onto chairs.
Have been to this resort many times, but this visit was a disappointment.
- Yas380 (8/5): Royal Harbour - The resort is located near the waterfront. There are good walking trails, which we enjoyed. The water from Lake Huron was very cold for locals and visitors. People generally stayed for 2-3 minutes. We enjoyed our trip to Blue mountain village and the Scenic caves. The staff are friendly and the resort has a pool, sauna, whirlpool. The pool was not heated. Rooms were large, however the need some TLC
- jim (8/5): - great location, easy walking
- Michael (8/5): - conveniently located. Wonderful walking areas. The property is looking aged. No evidence of any updates. Exercise equipment needs to be replaced.
- Karen (6/5): - There was a flood in our room due to excessive rain. Lack of bathroom towels/tea towels. Just given a couple of each when asked there were 3 of us.
- Lindsay (4/5): - Although the location is great the room was in very poor condition. Very old and worn carpets, wood panelling, poor bathroom fixtures (ie shower head). It was one of their 2 bedroom units. It definitely needs some updates to justify the cost of the nightly rate.
