The idea that it is cleaned every other day for our 'comfort' is an insult to my intelligence. The breakfast was good with real plates, bowls and coffee/tea cups. However, while real knives were used the forks and spoons were plastic!

• ChynnaDoll1377 (6/5): Not as stellar as prior visits - This has been our go-to hotel ever since our child discovered SCAD and was accepted over two years ago. We love the location, and the staff have, for the most part, always been wonderful. We also really appreciate how walkable the hotel is along the waterfront, as well as the option to either self-park in the garage next door or use valet service, which is our personal preference. That said, this most recent stay was not up to the standard we have come to expect, which was disappointing. First, the valet parking system did not work as smoothly as it should have. On several occasions, my husband did not receive the code needed to retrieve our car, even after the valet team checked it in right in front of him. I’m not sure whether this was an app issue, but it was frustrating and caused delays when we were trying to leave. I do want to note, however, that the valet staff were all extremely kind, polite, and professional. We truly appreciated them. The second issue was housekeeping. We stayed for three nights, and as a frequent business traveler, I understand that many hotels now follow an every-other-day cleaning policy unless service is specifically requested. I did not expect service the day after we arrived, and that was perfectly fine. However, by day two, with housekeeping carts on our floor and even in the room next door, we assumed our room would be serviced. We were out for most of the day, but when we returned that afternoon, nothing had been done. The trash was still there, the bed was unmade, and the towels had not been refreshed. That was disappointing. Since I was receiving text messages from the hotel checking on our stay, I mentioned the issue. I was told that the hotel’s policy is to clean rooms every other day or upon request. Again, I understand that policy, but by that point we were already on day two, and I felt some level of service was reasonable. I asked if, at the very least, the towels could be refreshed and the trash removed while we were out for dinner. When we returned, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the room had been fully cleaned, which I appreciated. The highlight of this trip was breakfast on the morning of checkout, when we saw our favorite staff member, Spring. On previous visits she had been off, and we had wondered if she had retired, but thankfully she is still there. We absolutely love her. She brings such a warm, cheerful energy to the breakfast buffet and always makes the experience better. I am not ready to give up on this hotel and am hoping the frustrations we experienced were just a fluke. We still have a few years of SCAD visits ahead of us, and I truly hope we can continue to think of this hotel as our home away from home during our trips.

I was unable to stay because of car issues on my way to the property. I called to let the property and Booking.com know I was unable to make it. I asked if they would not charge me for the nights stay due to my car issue and both refused.
• Tina (9/5): We enjoyed our stay at Homewood suites, great for couples stay, a suite for a sweet experience! - The staff at the hotel was wonderful! Spring, who works on the breakfast buffet was always quick with a smile and greeting. The valet staff were helpful with storing our luggage, and assisted in redirecting our Lyft driver who was at the incorrect pick up. We loved having a balcony for sitting and watching the people on the ferry on the river, the kitchen was appreciated for a quick snack and storing our perishables. They have live entertainment on the rooftop by the pool at night which was a fun addition to our stay. I would recommend this hotel easily to friends and family. Since I didn't give a full excellence rating there are just a couple of things for improvement. First, the bed was quite soft, not enough that I wouldn't re-stay, but enough that guests with back problems should be aware. Second, the balcony was slightly small for 2 people, getting access to the second chair was challenging. The location was fine for us, we didn't mind the walk, most things are less than a mile, but if you are less active if could be prohibitive. Finally, the breakfast, while the staff was wonderful, the potatoes tended to be lukewarm and mushy, again not that it would keep us from utilizing this hotel again if we are back in the area.

It’s still a short walk to shops, restaurants and trolley station. The rooftop bar and grill was very relaxing and fun. The riverfront rooms with balconies offer a terrific view of the boats and cargo ships. Spring, Yarlin, Steve, Juelz and Harold were awesome at breakfast. The room I booked was not the room I paid for. The bed was to face the window and it did not. I spoke to the Manager, Amanda, and she gave me the runaround saying it is Booking.com's error. Amanda's false statements, not solving the problem after a week of dodging the issue. We would like to be partially reimbursed for the room not being as pictured. The rooms are always clean and have all that we need to accommodate our large family; but the stand out qualities are really in the details. From the valet, to front desk, housekeeping and kitchen, the staff goes above and beyond to accommodate what we asked for and are a JOY to interact with which makes all the difference. We had an especially exceptional interaction with SPRING during our breakfast. She goes out of her way to greet every guest, and checks on you cleaning up throughout your meals making sure the place stays neat and functional. She had sweet interactions with our children, and went out of her way to get us water after the buffet was closed when we checked out. Her teammates Harol, Tashill and Ash were equally as helpful and pleasant. A standout feature of this hotel is the rooftop bar and pool with amazing views of the city and nightly entertainment. It’s comparable to a 5 star resort up there. You can’t beat the fact that all of this is within walking distance of riverfront shops and restaurant's. We have now stayed at this location three times, as a stopping point on our way to Florida and will continue to book this hotel again and again!!

The breakfast staff is welcoming, greeting you upon arrival which was very nice and made us feel at home. Tashill who orders for this location had some nice added touches to the limited hilton items. That was a huge hit for us, since we stay at hiltons frequently and our can get very old. The support staff was amazing a well, very quick to clean up and engaged in customer service. Spring was very helpful and sweet. She ensured the counters were clean and ready for the next guest. Ash and Harol were great too watching out for everyone's needs and getting dishes done. Wonderful first morning. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend

The bed was smaller than we would have liked. We had a view of a brick wall. It would have been nice to have an indoor bar, the rooftop bar had a very limited menu. I did feel the price for our stay was pretty high for the hotel

• Suitor (10/5): Amazing!!! - Location and the friendly staff! If we ever needed anything, the staff was more than happy to help. Absolutely nothing!
• Amy (10/5): - It was our 5 year anniversary trip. Never been to Savanna. Upon checking in, we were asked if we were celebrating anything. We responded yes, and told them our anniversary. A very short time later as we were unpacking, a knock on the door, there was a hotel staff member holding a basket full of goodies, a bottle of champagne, and two glasses. The staff throughout our stay were friendly. Nothing, everything was top shelf!

He greeted me with a warm smile, handled my vehicle with care, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. • LynnA545 (10/5): Great location! - This was a great stay for our mother daughter trip. We booked a riverview bedroom suite with two queen beds. The suite was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was a great start every morning. The breakfast crew was friendly and helpful, such a great start to our day! The front desk staff was great, and everyone we encountered was so friendly and professional. The hotel's location is perfect for a stay in the historic district. We were able to walk everywhere, and the Rooftop Bar was perfect for a nightcap after a full day of sightseeing.

Pretty much a flawless stay here at Homewood Suites in Savannah. Special thanks to Jamesia for a great welcome and quik check-in experience. The room had everything we needed and we loved coffee on the balcony looking over the river. amazing sunrise. Ty to the whole staff here. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great job.
• debhL3997OG (10/5): Great hotel and staff - The hotel is very clean. And the rooms are spacious with a living room, full kitchen, separate bedroom, sink/vanity area and a separate shower area. Free breakfast was delicious!! The entire staff is very friendly, attentive to any need or questions you may have. Jamesia, at the front check in desk, was so very kind and friendly, Checking in with us to make sure our stay was enjoyable and offering to help with anything or questions we may have to make our trip more enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel 100% Also has a balcony with a view of the river. Just a beautiful hotel and very impressive staff!!
