Perfekte Lage um Cambridge zu Fuß zu erkunden. Hund war willkommen. Für Gassi Runden liegt eine große Grünfläche direkt gegenüber vom Hotel. Kostenpflichtiger Hotelparkplatz. Frühstücksbuffet schmackhaft mit guter Auswahl für engl. Verhältnisse. Hotel liegt an einer Hauptstraße, die uns nicht störte. Wir würden wieder buchen.

The wardrobe doors have no handles and the view was pretty grim.

The home cooked ham on the breakfast buffet was superb (shame the eggs Benedict used more processed ham and not the home cooked ham). Reception understaffed; Sunday morning buffet was slow to replenish, so ordered from menu. Excellent decision. Bar area a bit too bright.

The dinner was very expensive for what it was - £16 for a small sliced beetroot .?

Bar staff at night were super friendly. Few little things surprised us about a posh place like this. When we first entered our room there was toilet tissue in the toilet bowl. Also one of the 2 cups by the kettle was not empty. The ladies room downstairs by the reception with the no touch door was a mess with toilet paper everywhere. I know this reflects your guests that day more than the hotel but cleaning staff need to be more vigilant I guess.

- Gerald (7/5): We enjoyed our stay and visit to Cambridge. - The accommodation was comfortable and quiet and spacious. A good location and convenient for seeing all of the colleges and museums. Disappointed that we were unable to participate in the tour in one of the Bentleys despite making our hotel booking several months ago. Breakfast was not as good as we expected or compared with other hotels. The menu for evening meals was too restricted so we ate out each evening.

- Roger (9/5): Will stay again. - The staff, the parking, the location and general feel of the hotel. Reception staff were great. Restaurant was a bit disappointing for the evening meal. Breakfast was good with very nice staff.
- Colin (9/5): Very good, will happily stay again. - An excellent experience, two minor negatives were a false fire alarm and insufficient hot water at peak time. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast and the breakfast choices were superb. On-site car parking cannot be pre-booked and was full; the nearby multi-story car park had limited spaces, but we were lucky this time.

Il faut aimer les lits extra durs! - Bon emplacement Les lit sont très durs et il y a des chambres qui sont à côté de l’ascenseur et très bruyant. Il y avait trois serveurs pendant le petit déjeuner et ils n’ont rien fait appart de parler. Ils n’ont pas débarrassé la table.

- Binda (6/5): Ok but expected more for the price. - Breakfat on the first moring was good Breakfast on the second morning wasn’t a good experience, very busy and they had run out of plates and well as breakfast items. There was also only one coffee machine which you must queue for.

- Jon (9/5): Exceptional apart from breakfast- chaotic - Location and just simply superb Breakfast again ! Stayed a few times and breakfast is so badly managed! Staff are good but no control or management. Ran out of hot water that was merely luke warm as such tepid hot tea, no milk, no cups, no spoons, no plates for toast the list goes on - manager should be all over that. Several people waited an age to have orders taken, one very slow coffee machine like this each time I stay - spoils a fabulous place. I did mention to reception and had breakfast cost taken off bill, wasn’t after that but thank you just wanted to highlight issues which I have done on previous stays but obviously not dealt with - will think twice now about staying again if they can’t get it right

Particularly Adam on the desk - he was so polite and professional and shared some great recommendations with us. Mike the chauffeur gave us a superb tour of Cambridge in the Bentley - what a treat! A lovely little hotel in a great location for exploring Cambridge. We stayed in one of the feature rooms which was beautiful but it was looking a little tired in places. Other than that, we couldn’t fault the hotel!

- Beth (8/5): Really lovely hotel but a couple of places to improve. - Beautiful property, well maintained, close to centre. Room was very hot. The air con did not blow cold air. There was not much milk in the room. Because the room was so warm a small fridge would be helpful. Breakfast is good but there was no hot water available on the second day so everyone has to use the coffee machine, which was slow and had a long queue. We asked for early check in and it was approved. We turned up 45 mins after the time we were given only to be told the room wasn’t ready. Then we were given a double with a shower instead of a twin with a bath. We had to wait in the bar and spent money on drinks while we waited. We were given a free upgrade, which was great, but while waiting in the bar we were told it would be 10-15 mins and they would come to get us as soon as it was ready. Half an hour later we went to ask what was happening and they had forgotten about us.

- JENNIFER (7/5): - The staff and location were excellent. Annoyingly the window in my room would not open and the noisy extractor fan in the bathroom was on all the time. I alerted the staff to these issues on 4 occasions and I was offered a room change on my last night and free parking as compensation.

- Molly (6/5): Great location, comfy bed but moth infestation - The bed was really comfy and we did have a very good sleep. The room was very spacious because we were put in an accessible room. The bathroom was also very large. The location was great - close to the centre and to lots of nice restaurants on Mill Road. The hotel has a clothes moth infestation - we spotted around 7 in our bedroom and numerous more in the hallways which indicates this is a hotel wide issue. We were therefore unable to unpack our clothes. We raised this with staff and their response of "sorry to hear that" indicates that this is something they are well aware of. Unfortunately we were unable to try breakfast due to sitting down in the dining room and then hearing numerous tables around us complaining about how long they had been waiting and orders going to the wrong table.
- Jason (8/5): Good hotel unfortunately let down by short staffing but staff that were present were doing their best. Would stay again - Good location. Staff that were present were attentive. Unfortunately the hotel was short staffed during our stay which may have been because by the bank holiday weekend which resulted in very slow breakfast service. Took almost an hour so opted to go out the following morning. Also, had to queue for the coffee machine for 10mins would expect more than one machine or table service.

- Steve (7/5): Excellent hotel let down by a collection of minor details . - The hotel was very nice and the bed very comfortable . The staff were also very helpful and understanding . Although the hotel was very nice , I thought it was let down by a lack of attention to detail considering the price . Breakfast was good but having to queue for coffee at only one machine provided was unacceptable instead of being offered a pot at the table . After mentioning this it was rectified and were served at the table . Also the shower head in our room was the wrong type and far too low . A hotel of this quality and expense should not be let down by a collection of small mistakes and attention to detail .
