- Algail777 (8/5): Comfy beds, great grouper, and wonderful staff! - This is a basic but very clean hotel. The staff was very friendly, the grouper dinner in their restaurant was inexpensive and the best I ever had ! I live in Florida where we eat grouper often.
The room was small but the bed was very comfortable and I’m fussy about having a comfy bed.
I plan to return when I come back to Santiago soon.
- YOUNG PIL (8/5): - good location and fast check in porcess.
- Lillian (10/5): - Staff were very pleasant! Clean & comfy room! Thank you!
- Dan (2/5): Not happy with Hotel and Hotels.com - Flights were canceled and called Hotel as instructed by Hotels.com
No one at Hotel spoke English however I did speak with one that seemed to comprehend. Thought they cancelled both rooms. Instead I was charged for both rooms . As a Gold Member I would think Hotels.com would resolve instead they have done nothing.
- Orquiria (6/5): - bad smell in the room from the bathroom like black water I had to close the bathroom, it was very unpleasant, the sheets were very hard, it did not feel good on the body
- Adalgisa (6/5): - N/A
- Maximo (10/5): - It gives a better service now and has more amenities. Dislike- room is kind of small even for one person.
- orlando (10/5): - restaurant
- Fernando (8/5): - The hotel staff are very professional and willing to please. The cleaning staff do an outstanding job. Some of the restaurant personnel are not to friendly. The food gets a B . The hotel needs a little updating, but overall I definitely would stay there again.
- MeloAndRomano (2/5): Dr. Caonabo M Melo - The worst service we had receive so far. Overpriced. The night reception clerk was very rude. One of the night staff banged my door at midnight when he new that my wife was alone in the room. The room was very small and uncomfortable. There was no space to move around and we had to jump one on top of the others to get off bed.
- Clara (10/5): - It was very clean. Staff were attentive and professional.
- Patrick (8/5): Nice hotel in Santiago, DR - Adequate hotel, clean and friendly staff, good restaurant.

- Anthony (10/5): - My favorite.
The food is great.
- Santa (8/5): - My experience is good
- Sina (8/5): - Convenient location near high way and close downtown Santiago. Great restaurant attached to the hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, nicely decorated, modest and conveniently located close to major shopping center. Staff was very nice and accommodating.
- Brenton (8/5): Cozy and economically - Nice cozy location. Very helpful staff. Cool location to everything in Santiago.
- Christopher (2/5): Racist receptionist, Century Plaza Hotel Santiago - This was the worst hotel experience that I have had in 35 years of traveling either for business or pleasure. I am a former U.S. Air Force veteran and retired State Department Foreign Service Officer. One of the front desk receptionist yelled at me at the top of her vocal range. Simply because I asked for assistance after patiently waiting for her to register 2 new guest, even though I was already a registered guest at the hotel. She saw me standing there waiting but did not acknowledge me at all i.e. sir, I'll be with you in a minute. After she finished registering the other guests, which to a while because she was very slow, and not proficient at her job. She still did not offer to assist me. I said excuse me and she turned her back to me. I called to her again saying excuse me, and then the third time I said excuse me are you ignoring me. She went from zero to a hundred in an instant and began yelling at me, at the top of her vocal range. She began with "what is your problem." I immediately asked to speak with her supervisor, but she continued her tirate telling me "you're not my father", "and you don't demand that I get my supervisor or anything of me", "I don't have a supervisor", and so on. I was stunned and in shock and it took a couple of minutes to gather myself. I matched her intensity and began speaking to her in the same manner she was speaking to me. I told her that I was going to call the police and I turned and walked outside because I was so upset.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - VERY WEL HOTEL FRENDLY PEOPLE VERY GOOD RESTATURANT
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Its convenient and offers excellent food at their restaurant. The free breakfast varies everyday and offers local cuisine.
The rooms are clean, but the one with stayed in (king size)
is in need of upgrading.
The staff is excellent and efficient, quick response to all our requests.
I have stayed at this location before and recommend it.
- Jim (8/5): - It’s a very nice inexpensive hotel in a great neighborhood. Very nice Dominican breakfast buffet, and on Friday and Saturday there’s live salsa and a dance floor. Friendly staff...
- Ruben (8/5): - This is a nice property with clean rooms. Air conditioner was working fine, newly renovated bathroom, very friendly staff. One caveat: if you are planning to stay Friday or Saturday night, request a room away from the restaurant. They do parties these t o days and it is loud in those rooms just above the restaurant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very clean the service was great the attendant were very nice
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I was charged for a razor that I did not use.
Maybe was human error.
- Katty (4/5): - No agua caliente, malas condiciones, deberían mejorar
- Dreamer779944 (2/5): Bad experience with the restaurant/dancing - My friends and I were in the mood to dance but not to drink, so only a few ordered alcohol and most of us ordered sparkling water. Apparently this was not enough money spent on the first round and we were asked to leave before even getting the drinks we ordered. The music was great and we would have happily ordered other non-alcoholic things to meet the table minimum, but the manager was quite rude and told us that “if we are not willing to spend at least 10,000 pesos, then we shouldn’t even be going out at all.” Of course we would have spent that, easily. The dollar is strong right now and that would have been very easy to do. I would have even been willing to just pay it as a cover and dance the night away, but the manager went out of his way to make us feel unwelcome. He told us that if we were not ordering wine, then we could not stay. He seemed a little drunk himself and was quite belligerent. It made a terrible impression, and we chose to leave right away. I did not realize the management was so rude and the place so trashy. I would not return.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I requested a different room after the cable stopped working and e hotel charged me for 2 rooms instead of one. I upgraded my previous room and the hotel took advantage of me. Very disappointing as this was my first time in the D.R.
- Angela (10/5): - They have excellent service. Great people, very clean. Only I recomend they is chenge the pillow, because they are small
- DomCub (8/5): Basic place but clean and safe - Basic place to stay with competitive rates . The rooms are clean. Funny, one long hallway and it feels like gauntlet of cigarette smell , but the rooms are clean and don’t smell like cigarette .
I guess people spoke in the hallways .
No elevator so either get the bellhop to assist or bring the bags up two stair landings . Breakfast was ok but was lacking.
But if you are looking for a clean , no frills , not too expensive spot in Santiago , this fits the bill.
I give it a very good for those reasons .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Rooms need updated but it was clean and a friendly staff
- Verified traveler (4/5): - norhing was unique..breakfast terrible, carpets are stained, the key of the hotel room had problems to open. I went to the front desk to print and scan a document, and they couldn't handdle the situation to help me
- erdal (10/5): Budget hotel and kind people - Good place and kind people
- Luis (10/5): - Liked: excellent cleanliness. All facilities condition: excellent-impresive !!!!
Didn't like: Seafood at the restaurant was not bad, but could be better (if compared with other kind of food at the same place). As a recommendation, it would be good to let customers know that rooms are in the 2nd floor but there is not elevator.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, Supermarkets nearby, staff friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good for the price and availability good room with view
- L. (6/5): - The property is is not bad, the staff are pleasant and courteous. The hotel is very clean. But, I did not have cable service and couldn't sleep due to the noise from the bar-restaurant under my room. I supposed it was my fault because, never complaint about it.
- sergio (8/5): - Everything is good,if you can stay 3 or 4 days,the breakfast is ok
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was good. Staff were extremely friendly and professional.
Really enjoyed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is good. Just room small for it's price. The staff are nice and friendly.
Restaurant is small because the hotel is full during my stay. Not enough tables in the restaurant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I like the neateness and location of the property. Very nice staff.
- Mysie (10/5): - Overall very nice hotel. The bed was not very comfortable and felt lopsided. At about 10 pm music was full blast and can be heard very clear in the room until about 1:30am
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel is clen the bed is to smoll the noise front other rom is bad
- Colin (6/5): Lobby is nice, but that's about it. - Room and bathrooms are dimly lit. Safe didn't work. There are other nicer places to stay that are cheaper.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - One night stay after a concert- Good breakfast, safe, clean with basic comforts. Only missing a coffee maker in the room, would have saved me the trip to the restaurant-
- Alina (10/5): Excellent - The best
- DHE30PP (10/5): The Best Mid Range Hotel in Santiago - I stay at this hotel quite often and the service is always consistently good. It is a favourite with businessmen travelling to the city. The prices are reasonable $50-$60us is what I usually pay per night. The rooms are clean and comfortable, if a little on the small side. There is a mini bar in every room and there is no need to worry about using it because the prices are reasonable. There is an ice machine in the corridor and the hotel restaurant (which provides room service) is excellent. However, there is a very good local cafeteria on the main road, just opposite the hotel, perhaps better for lunch than dinner. There is Friday night live music and the price of the room includes a hearty breakfast. There is a large car park at the front with free parking. On the down side, the hotel is contained in one long block, which means that if you get a room at the end of the corridor, it's quite a long walk. Also if you have a disability, be warned, there is no lift. The staff are friendly. Some have better English than others. The location if convenient for the city centre, the airport and HOMS Hospital; BUT - this is not a city centre hotel - you will need transport to get around from it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): business - very good location
- Olga/Guillermo (8/5): Nice and convenient location - Easy in and out. Very friendly and accommodating personnel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel is close to a supermarket, good location.
- Raymond (8/5): Stay but no breakfast - Due to our commitment of leaving early in the morning it was not possible to have an early morning breakfast, the restaurant opens at 6.00am. There was no other option but to buy from a supermarket the night before. Coffee can be purchased from the gas station on the main road.
- Jim (8/5): - Great moderately priced hotel, nice that they provide a buffet breakfast (of variable quality). One thing to watch out for - their restaurant is also a club - which is great if you love music, but lousy if you're trying to sleep!
- JBENTV (10/5): The best hotel in Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic - my name is juan timal i was at the hotel two weeks ago. I reserved 5 rooms in total. The service of the staff is like being in a 5 diamond hotel and the rooms are super super clean. The breakfast in the mornings is the best typical dominican food. I been coming here since 2006 and the service always gets better thank Hotel plaza century I will be back.P.S. They always remember your name.
- 576Lili (10/5): Restaurant - I actually have been to the restaurant a few times and hands down food is great prices are not bad and the service is great. I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s not far from the airport I would say about 15 minute drive
- Mirelly (10/5): friendly staff, very clean and great location - It's my second time there and was glad to see Rafael is still there, one of the front desk staff, is amazing. He's a natural when it comes to hospitality. He's helpful, always answers with a smile and never makes you feel like you're asking silly questions. Highly professional, there were no surprises at checkout. The rest of the staff, from waiters to maintenance, are friendly and helpful.
There were a couple of things I wasn't crazy about (but could deal with for a short stay)...The noise from the restaurant on weekends can get a little loud and the AC units have this light that can bother you when you're trying to sleep. The rooms are slightly small, but then again for a short stay, I loved it. I recommend it and would absolutely visit again!
- jorgelO2047VI (10/5): Excellent cozy place. - I has been using this hotel for over 5 year for at least 4 weeks a year. Friendly staff. Just remember if you are looking for 5 stars hotel you will be in the wrong place. The restaurant have an excellent food.
- Jerry (2/5): No way - It was booked for 2 night. I wdis not stay, the room was gross
- jstanlyh (2/5): Very bad service - Shameful rooms, hostile attentions, bad service. Rooms warm, ac did not work properly, no complimentary water, hidden charges, on the other hand available parking and fast internet. Check it was quick
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Doesn't has an elevador, soft stepping by stairs. Good staff , restaurant with exquisite typical local dishes...also typical live músic on friday and saturday.
- Ric (8/5): staying here was convenient ....
- staff was helpful and friendly....
parking on the premise was convenient
- Claudia B (8/5): Nice hotel - 1. The hotel need refurbish
2. Breakfast is very limited. Doesn't have variety plates
3. Sometime there some noises.
- Greg (8/5): Enjoyable Experience - Although only stayed 1 night, great stay, clean, very friendly, helpful, & professional staff. Definitelybstaubin again and/or recommend to others.
- Jim (8/5): Nice Hotel in Good Neighborhood - I really like this place, albeit it seems to attract a lot of Ugly American male types who feel entitled to do things like grab the waitress, or make disparaging comments about the locals. Other than that, it's a great place.
- Juan C. (6/5): Old and little hotel - Little rooms, uncomfortable, the air conditioning doesn't work, the hotel is too old.
- elizabethe346 (8/5): Affordable Location - I appreciated being greeted by the front desk person and enjoyed the variety of food for breakfast. The room was hard to cool down in the afternoons and part of the evenings. Entertainment and restaurant services was convenient and fun.
- luislE9957FJ (6/5): JUST REGULAR....!!! - I visited this property last week ....had a little issue at check in. ...but it was solve......i was staying in a STANDARD ROOM kind of small though! The room included free breakfast and free parking as well. .....never had a chance to go for breakfast i was always late for that.it is close to many places within a few minutes drive .....certain days of the week they have live shows. ....the place is more for business travelers or traveling by yourself. ...is more simple, i went with the family. ....i don't think I would go back with them ...if going by myself .
- Ushaan (8/5): Value for money - Good hotel in a central place.. clean rooms .. but small in size.. no proper view.. good service.. Serves a good breakfast complementary... Not great for a long stay..Parking is easy.. good pub and a restaurant in the hotel...
- Verified traveler (8/5): Average, close to the down town and non traffic zon - Good time, nice music in the bar and good food at the restaurant
- Verified traveler (8/5): Average 2 1/2 Stars Hotel - The breakfast could have been better. Comfort: I would said it was ok for the price I paid. It is very clean.
- AnianaM (6/5): Honesty and a very good value - This is a very simple hotel which included a decent breakfast. It was perfect because all we needed was to sleep there as we were there for a funeral. The breakfast has cereal, chinola juice, coffee and five warm trays which included native mangu, delicious yuca mash, white cheese with pesto, scrambled eggs, very average sausages and a fresh fruit Platter. These same five trays were presented in a different manner the next morning. However what I really appreciated was that they came down to the lobby twice to ask if we had forgotten a pen and later to ask if we had forgotten several shirts while we were waiting for our ride. This kind of honesty does not exist very often.
- ClauMiami (6/5): Fair hotel - Hotel overall is clean. My room was small and crowded, very difficult with 2 kids below 3 yrs old. Front desk was nice and helpful. If you wantbto get a taste of local go to the Hotel restaurant they have live music on Fridays and Saturday. The hotel is not handicapped friendly, I was traveling with my grandma which is in a wheelchair which we had to carry her up and down the stairs. Restaurant service was very good, food was simple but good. Hotel is nearby the monuments, catedral and main streets and highways.
- Verified traveler (2/5): terrible - my experience was terrible I was over charge the staff was rude the were not accommodation to anything that was wrong with the room or with the service
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great - Great stay helpful staff no problem at all.............,,,,,,,,,
- Steve (10/5): Great Hotel - Had a great time. Stayed in one of the luxury vip suites they have and not a single complaint.. only thing i found a little annoying is that in order to open and close the in room safe you have to use ur key entry card which u also need to leave in a wall box for the lights to be on. So when you access the safe your in the dark and have to use your cell phone light or something. But other than that it was great. The bar and grill was deicious and very well prices. The staff was very professional. One night I got there really late and the owner was sitting pitside having a drink and the bar was closed. Well he had one of his employees get me MULTIPLE comped drinks while we both enjoyed cigars.. i would definetely choose this place again.
- petebxny (2/5): !!Terrible food and service Beware!!! - Terrible service at the restaurant food is terrible ordered chicken parm and penne with garlic and oil .pasta was overcooked wet noodles disintegrating on the plate i complained they just laughed and said yes they are overcooked the chicken parm was not breaded (just in case you order it) they spent more time on there cell phones than waiting on you dont bother going you will be disappointed i had to pay for the wet noodles even though i didnt eat it go to square one when in santiago better food all around
- Jim (10/5): - Good hotel Clean rooms Breakfast was terrible, Over all very good
