Sliphorn (10/5): Decent Stay Downtown - I stayed here on the way home. I had never been to Allentown and decided to do this. It is a nice large hotel. The parking is interesting as they share a garage with the arena. I called the desk as I approached the city and the nice clerk told me the street number of the garage and WAZE took me right to the entrance. The lobby is on the second floor and the hotel is very chic and modern. I had never been in a room before where you had to put a room key card in a slot to get the electrical items to work. The room was nice and large and clean. You have to use a key card in the elevator to get to your floor. The only disappointment was that Saturday morning I could not get a la carte breakfast as they only have the buffet. I had ot cross the street to a Starbucks. This was the only negative.

njdnice (4/5): Never again - REFUND Please and THANK YOU! - We would like to share our recent experience at the hotel. While the staff demonstrated remarkable friendliness and professionalism, I regret to say that my overall experience did not meet expectations. First, I must acknowledge concerns regarding the surrounding area. It feels necessary to remain cautious, as the environment does not seem conducive to safety and comfort. This observation may explain the $25 valet parking fee, which appears to be more about ensuring guests' security than convenience. Although the staff was attentive and welcoming, the hotel's physical condition left much to be desired. The facilities seem outdated, with visible signs of neglect, such as dust and mildew in both the restaurant and the room. Additionally, the television's response time was frustratingly slow, impacting the overall experience. From the 10th floor, the view primarily consisted of rooftops rather than the beautiful mountains that surround the area. Furthermore, the shower design was unconventional, lacking a tub and any means to contain water, leading to water accumulation on the bathroom floor. While I appreciate the exceptional service provided by the staff, I believe it is important to address these issues for future guests. As a result, I do not anticipate returning to this hotel in the future. Renaissance Allentown Hotel - I would appreciate guidance on how to proceed, including the possibility of a refund.

christianlansinger (2/5): Rude manager. - My team and I stayed for nearly a week and reserved a conference room for work during that time. We had deliveries of materials stored in the locked conference room in advance of our arrival. Our experience was generally positive, but the hotel manager's service was entirely unacceptable. Upon arrival, a large group was in our (supposedly) reserved and locked conference room with our personal materials. For over an hour, we were unable to get this group to leave the room (they were told they were given permission to use it). The front desk and manager even acknowledged the room was reserved for us, but they would not take any action to correct the problem. The manager said we had to contact a sales representative to have it resolved. When we were finally let into our reserved room after multiple calls, there was trash and food scraps that remained through the next day. And Marriott's site does not mention the conference rooms have no outdoor windows and are up against a hockey rink with loud, live events. When our team had additional deliveries arrive the following day, I offered to take them down to our conference room. But the hotel staff insisted they could handle it. Moments later, when I was in the lobby again, the hotel manager was loudly talking poorly of me and my team members and suggesting they should not help us at all. He insisted that if they helped get our deliveries to the conference room, we would not stop asking them for favors, and that they had already "done so much" to help us. Even though again--our singular request at this point was to get the conference room we paid for and reserved in advance. More generally, multiple of my team members expressed negative interactions with the hotel manager during the first few nights of our stay. This review is purely reflective of how poorly he treated us (without any reason). The rooms were fine: No iron and ironing board and no room service on the weekend

glossygoddess (6/5): Not a Luxury Experience - This hotel is probably the best option in Allentown. I was not familiar with the Renaissance brand and I'm still unsure of it's brand prop and differentiation. It bills itself as luxury, but this is not a luxury hotel at all. The hotel is easy to find, though self-park is a pain. It's a hike from the garage to the hotel, so it is better to valet. Check-in staff was friendly and it was quick to get extra towels. No one was at the desk for check-out. The lobby is very nice but some music would help. It felt sterile. The rooms are cute. We appreciated the homage to the area with Crayola wallpaper, a big A, and perhaps even the region's former lace industry with the bathroom wallpaper (hard to tell). Beds were comfy but the linens were extremely worn. This hotel needs all new linens. More hooks would be appreciated. Bathroom sink barely drained. I appreciated the makeup mirror but it would not lock in place correctly. The wastebasket in the bathroom looked like housekeeping staff realized it was missing a wastebasket and grabbed one from someone's office. Or Walmart. Room needed to be cleaner; it should not have passed inspection. Though renovated, this hotel looks so worn. It's like they renovated but didn't refresh. We had two rooms; one room was missing a safe and a door placard. Elevators require keycards (as all do/should these days); another keycard entry is required to get into your floor's corridor, which is simultaneously appreciated and concerning. We were frustrated because while we liked the hotel, we feel it could have been much better and been a 4-star experience with a few tweaks. We may need to return due to family circumstances; I hope they greatly improve before our next stay.

It was nice being warmly greeted by the personel working the front desk. The location was key as the hotel has its own entrance straight into the PPL Center. There are plenty of food options right in the vicinity.

The food was basic and underwhelming for this hotel brand. The hotel entrance was tricky to locate and parking options were limited. The valet, although pricey, provided the best option. The front desk staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Verified traveler (2/5): - Fire alarm got pulled at 2am, entire building evacuated for half an hour. Nobody from the hotel ever checked in or apologized or anything.

It was making noise every time someone enter the hallway, It woke us up every times. Also there was a bad smell coming from shower area, probably from sewer, you could smell when you take shower.
sportsphotog (2/5): Not easy to find - I really don't know how the hotel is itself, since I never found it. I was booked there for one night and entered the hotel name in my GPS which gave me an address of 12 N 7th Street. When I got to where the GPS told I should been there was no sign of the hotel. I called three times before anyone answered and told me to put 712 west Linden into my GPS. That took me to a residential neighborhood, 3.8 miles away. Frustrated, I gave up after that. If it was near where I was originally, it didn't look like there was easy parking or any really good options for dining in the area.

Julie (8/5): Fine location but not set up to do any work - Stayed here to visit Muhlenberg College. Hotel is downtown close to school. Garage is hard to find. Hotel validates so cost is less but there’s still a charge. Long walk from garage to hotel though all Indoors. Hotel room has a very thin counter for a desk which was not comfortable for my husband and teen who were both trying g to do work. Nor was there a good desk lamp. The front desk suggested they try the library but it was overlooking the lobby so not really quiet and no desk height tables just coffee tables. My husband ended up using a table in the lounge leading into the restaurant to do work but there was loud elevator music playing overhead and people in and out of the restaurant constantly. Not really ideal. Didn’t love the barn door on The bathroom.

Helena (7/5): Close to PPL - We stayed here for an event at the PPL Center. We liked being so close to the event venue, but just a heads up parking can get funky if you arrive when an event is getting ready to end. The entrance to the garage was coned off and it was a little confusing. All in all, beds were comfy, room was clean, and hotel was secure. Parking garage to the hotel was a bit lengthy. You can tell that the hotel was in existence prior and the PPL center was added on because some things seem like an afterthought.

Thomas (8/5): - I had booked a king room but was given a 2 queen bed room without asking if that was ok. A king room was made available and we took it but it would have been nicer if we were made aware or this or offered the change without feeling like it was forced on us.

Z5418QFbarbaral (2/5): Hospitality an Oxymoron - Management for the Renaissance Hotel, Allentown did not respond when I reported injuries sustained inside their building. Hospitality totally lacking. Communications from Marriott International, the parent company. were dismissive. Avoid this hotel.
Nathan (10/5): - The room was really great as was the hotel. The restaurant seemed quite lonely as maybe it was the off season. And like any hotels where there aren't many people at the restaurant, the service, while nice, was slow. I ordered an omelette that took forever. And also, not only was there no room service, no one answered the phone. But the rooms themselves and the hotel are really nice.

Verified traveler (6/5): Overall fine! - The room was fine itself and convenient since we were going to an event at PPL Center. You can enter PPL center from inside the hotel which was nice. Room thermostat panel had no info on the screen and no way to adjust temperature/fan. Shower in the morning would be a trickle or just stop completely (I know due to everyone showering at once). TV remote needed new batteries and didn't work. Overall it was fine, the restaurant food was delicious.
Jennifer (10/5): - The hotel room was very spacious and updated.The hotel is in a convenient location. I would definately stay again. The only issues we had were with the valet location and service in the restaurant. The valet is on the street and at one point when we returned there was an event in the arena. There was no space to attempt to return the car to the valet and we had to drive in circles for a while until space was available. In addition, we ate breakfast in the hotel one morning and it took over 30 minutes (almost 45 minutes) to receive our food. There were only 3 parties in the restaurant at the time, it was not busy at all and we only ordered simple breakfast food.

Ashley (8/5): - What was unique is that you have to use your key to have access to the lights, Tv and Thermostat in the room. The room was very nice but we found a pepperoni on the couch and we had a dirty towel in the mix of our clean ones. They did not have water in the lobby to access you had to pay $4 a bottle and it wasn’t a big bottle. We were a little confused with getting from the garage to the hotel- as they have two sets of elevators and takes you into the PPL center. Overall a decent hotel. We would stay again for the convenience.

kathysK7228BM (10/5): Modern Hotel, Convenient to PPL Center and Restaurants - I had a great experience at the Renaissance Hotel in Allentown. The front desk staff was so helpful and kind, he made sure that we knew how to get to our room, upgraded us to a nice city view of the "Arts Walk" which also gave us a view of the beautiful full moon that night. The hotel and room have a Steel City vibe, everything was clean and modern. The shower had great hot water and pressure, the bed was slightly firmer than I like, and the couch and mini bar area was an extra bonus. The hotel has their own restaurant "The Dime" with breakfast buffet and dinner options. The breakfast was hardy and plentiful- eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, tons of fruit, and pastries. The parking garage is shared with the PPL center, but easy to navigate and they have plenty of workers to guide you. I would definitely stay here again.

Tami (2/5): Worst Customer Service Ever - We drove 3 hours to stay at the Rennaissance hotel for the Godsmack Concert only to be told upon our arrival that our room was canceled. Supposedly for a leak but how convenient that the Fordham Football team were able to get rooms. Carson Dodge, the manager was horrible he has no empathy for customers. I would not recommend this place at all to stay. We had our pet with us so to find another place to stay at such short notice was not feasible. We ended up having to drive another 3 hours home without seeing the concert which we lost $635 for our tickets we could not resell. If I could give a negative 0 rating for the front desk I would, they need to go to a training on how to treat customers.

TravelingMom370 (4/5): Not as good as it used to be - disappointing - We stayed here Jan 2023 and loved it so decided to stay here again for our 30th wedding anniversary. As a titanium member, traditionally especially when the hotel knows you are celebrating an event, they leave a gift or some “special” snacks in the room. This time - nothing (though back in Jan 2023 we had a beautiful fruit platter in our room). Secondly, when we left for the day on Sunday we ran into housekeeping outside our room. We said hello since they were cleaning the room next door. When we returned that evening, our room had not been cleaned. I called the front desk and was told by the gentleman that there was an emergency with housekeeping so no one got housekeeping that day. This obviously was a lie since i spoke to housekeeping while they were cleaning the room next to ours. When i called him out on that, he was silent. After some pushing, he provided us parking for free which we thanked him for. (I would have appreciated to have him tell me the truth that they skipped my room rather than lie). Breakfast on Monday in the lounge was horrible. The scrambled eggs were burnt. And when i say burnt i mean that when you opened the top, it reeked. There was barely any bread, no bagels, nothing. For a lounge, this was such a disappointment. We told the nice lady working the lounge about the eggs and she said she would tell the chef. She brought us a container of eggs but didn’t replace the burnt ones (which was odd). Overall the only person that was pleasant and super accommodating was the server at the restaurant for breakfast on Sunday. This hotel was not good at all. We will definitely not stay here again. We were in room 901.
W391UYevaw (10/5): Perfect Wedding Day! - My daughter married at the Renaissance Allentown hotel October 5th. Angela, the wedding coordinator, made it so easy! She is amazing at her job! Her attention to detail was spot on! Maddy, one of the staff for the day, was excellent too. She was there for my daughter, son-in-law and families every need. Such a sweet person with a smile always on her face! We had rehearsal dinner at the Dime restaurant. Even though we didn't get the room we originally booked they prepared another space quickly. The food was excellent. The following morning all our family and friends decided to have breakfast at the Dime for the brunch. This was not scheduled, but Laurence, in the restaurant was running to get things done for us. He pulled in more tables and even though they seemed short staff, like a lot of work places right now, he made things happen! Thank you to all the staff at the Renaissance who made this weekend the most enjoyable and best time ever with our family and friends! THANK YOU!! Bride's Mom, Eva

andycA2847NY (2/5): RANCID RENAISSANCE - I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL! I’ve traveled all over the country and the world, and I’ve rarely been treated as poorly as I was by the front desk staff of the Renaissance Allentown. I came to town for the All Elite Wrestling TV taping on June 19th at the PPL Center. I’d made my reservation a month earlier on May 9th, the same day I bought my AEW ticket. When I walked up to the front desk, I was informed that the Renaissance had overbooked and my room was not available. I get that this happens on occasion as hotels don’t want to be left with empty rooms, but the Renaissance overdid it. Myself and two couples (and most likely more) were all told at the same time there was no room at the inn, and our hearts sank. No effort was made at all to find us rooms at other hotels, though the front desk manager (whose name I know, but I don’t believe in personal attacks) made every effort to gaslight us into thinking we’d made the mistake or that the booking site made the mistake. WRONG!!! Even worse, the front desk staff kept checking in other people and just stopped paying attention to us. Having worked the front desk at a few hotels myself, the Golden Rule is to ALWAYS take care of the guest in front of you FIRST. We’d all driven 4+ hours to get to Allentown, and the Renaissance does us like this?!? I know we weren’t the wrestlers themselves or some high roller coming to town, but this hotel staff & management are truly horrendous! I can’t believe Marriott lets their property get away with treating people like this. You’re putting your vacation/trip in jeopardy if you stay here…SO JUST DON’T STAY HERE!!!
Verified traveler (6/5): - Room is not soundproofed as indicated. We could hear people in the hallways walking. The bathrooms had rust all over the entrances of the door. The entrance to get to hotel through parking lot was weird and smelled of urine. Location not the greatest in terms of neighborhood with a jail a few blocks away but the stadium gives convenience.
