Guest Reviews
- Quinny (10/5): Comfortable & peaceful with a fantastic view. - We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and it was a bit further than other type of rooms, but it offers a very private and quiet stay. The property is HUGE, with a garden, small pool, and the master bedroom faces the direction of the snow mountain. I think this is an awesome place to hang out with your family members or friends. Breakfast was next to the lake & garden and the scenery was beautiful. A good range of food, from western (bacon, sausage, scramble eggs), to pastries, local yunnan delicacies etc. The 2-bedroom suite was quite a bit further than other rooms so the best way to go back to the room was by the free buggy ride offered by the hotel. During peak hours, we had to wait for a few rounds to get on the buggy. It didn't help that people cut queue and the hotel staff didn't necessarily keep track of who was in line first but rather who was more aggressive in getting on the buggy.
- Stephanie Napier (10/5): - Stunning property - the grounds and rooms really were absolutely beautiful We ordered ice to the room and it took over an hour to get to us. But that is the only bad point!
- Roseline (9/5): Memorable stay at Lijiang - We had a wonderful stay at Jinmao. It is a quiet santuary to come back to after exploring bussling touristy old town and Yulong area We love tbe modernised chinese architecture, our room was spacious and surrounded by beautiful gardens. We tried the chinese restaurants a few times and frequent the bakery. The resort also organised beer garden party during our stay. The staff are polite, helpful and very welcoming. Will llove to stay here again if we are in Lijiang next time. The pillows are too soft for me and my husband. It would be nice if you could offer some options . The tv & movie channel are limited to local programme, it would be nice to have more international programme.

- Kamal (1/5): This property caters for chinese tourists looking to binge all weekend! Does not reflect Hyatt standards in any way - Nothing Absolutely massive. Drunken tourists all over, very loud. Concierge services inexistant. No understanding of English. Poor food quality and dishes. Left 14 hours after arrival to Intercontinental which has excellent standards, very kind and helpful staff.
- YADA (6/5): - Beautiful hotel with spacious, well-designed rooms. It is conveniently located near various tourist spots. The room facilities were in poor condition. The shower head was loose and felt unsafe, posing a risk of injury. I had to call maintenance twice to get it fixed. Additionally, the power outlets were broken and had no electricity, which required another repair.
The service at breakfast was also disappointing. The staff lacked a service mindset and were gathered around gossiping, which made me, as a foreigner, feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.
- Sergey (8/5): Cozy resort in great location - Great modern place, however bit challenging if you are not good in Mandarin.
If you want to try beijing duck - make sure to book in advance. Also bit weird to pay extras for animal feeding 20 yuans, when the room charge is not as low as well. I would expect it to be free. Language barrier
- Tan (8/5): one of the best scenery and design hotel in lijiang - scenery surround the hotel..previous design ...size of the room It seems like the hotel maintenance is not detailed...repainting takes away the luxurious impression...then the pictures on the walls which for me also reduce the elegance of the character...I feel that currently there is more emphasis on function alone without paying attention to the elegance of the entire property.

- 661fanh (10/5): Tranquility, best view of Yulong Snow Mountain - We stayed at the Jinmao Purelax Hotel in Lijiang for two nights in January 2026. The hotel is exceptionally beautiful, showcasing the elegance of traditional Chinese garden design. The overall atmosphere is calm and serene, complemented by a simple yet refined neo-classical aesthetic that creates a sense of quiet luxury.
The staff were consistently warm and professional. We arrived earlier, and the front desk associate, Kathy, kindly assisted us with an early check-in and also offered complimentary breakfast, which was greatly appreciated. We can look at the sunrise over Yulong Mountain at hotel.
Overall, it was a graceful and memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel.

- Yuzhi (9/5): -
- Liyana (10/5): - Amazing property with so many activities on site. Kayaking, teahouse, mountain shuttle etc
Wonderful view and a didi away from old town. I enjoyed this location as it was slightly further from busy old town and we get to rest nicely after a long day exploring in a quiet and comfortable area. Nothing, everything was amazing
- nikkiechau (8/5): Great stay - room for improvement - Stayed here for two nights, love the architecture of the hotel, and the beautiful landscape design. It also offers a lot of free activities such as arts and craft, animal feeding and fishing.
Got upgraded to the Deluxe Suite, room is clean and spacious with private balcony. The only complaint that I have is the front desk staff could use a bit more training. Check-in and communication were a bit disorganized, I had to call in to figure out where the breakfast restaurant hours and location. WiFi was spotty until next morning. Porter service was super friendly and wonderful.
Overall, a very nice hotel that I would definitely visit again next time I am in town.
- Ka Ki Jacqueline (9/5): Relaxing holiday with the kids - The breakfast was adequate, we especially loved the cold brew available at breakfast! The location was great, we had a good view of the jade dragon snow mountain!
- AN (9/5): -
- 830yingc (10/5): Absolutely worth the money - The hotel features excellent facilities, beautiful Chinese-style gardens, and a stunning mountain view—truly unbeatable for the price. As a Hyatt Globalist, I was upgraded to a suite, which was spacious and tastefully decorated. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely return with my family. The breakfast was average compared to other Hyatt hotels I've stayed at in China
- vdsl90 (10/5): Paradise in Lijiang - the Hotel is absolutely classic and beautiful. it looks impressive with the famous Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as its backdrop. its landscape is well maintained. gracious black swans with red beaks swim in its pond. Llamas enjoy their afternoon in its soft green pasture. the whole environment is serene and exquisite. only golf carts are driven within this Hotel. the room is well decorated with hand carved furniture. the bed is super comfortable with high quality beddings. the balcony is private with view of the Mountain. the restaurants served tasty dishes with fresh local ingredients. the Team offered professional and attentive services. there is daily activities for guests including arts and craft workshop. the air is fresh. it is truly a non smoking facility. highly recommend.
- Anqi (10/5): Most beautiful hotel with magnificent view of the Snowy Mountain - Jinmao Purelax Lijiang exceeded every aspect of our expectations. The staffs are super polite and helpful, rooms are neat and clean. We can see the Yulong Snowy Mountain right at the balcony and at the buffet hall. The internal landscaping is gorgeous. With trees and flowers of all kinds surrounded, there's a great sized lake where black swans and ducks call it home too. The hotel also keeps a few alpacas, ponies, goats and boarder collies. Our children really enjoyed petting the animals and feeding the swans and fish every morning.
- Siyu (9/5): Comfortable and big room, a very nice hotel - The hotel room is huge and the bed is very comfortable. There are a lot of activities you can participate in the hotel. Overall a really comfort and relaxing experience. The fridge in the room is a bit noisy.
- 897than (10/5): Beautiful hotel with Mountain View - Beautiful Mountain View & landscape with Chinese style. If you bring kids along, they will be super excited seeing black swans, alpaca, squirrels & sheep. Hotels have very nice restaurants, Chinese restaurant offers fresh mushrooms and vegetables, with Yunnan special dishes, a bit fusion so less oily and spicy, which is great for nonlocal like us. There’s 24/24 mini mart so you can buy essentials but you’ll need WeChat to open the door, handle self payment. Room is spacious with bath tub and big closet and balcony with mosquito net door (they have beautiful garden with different kinds of flowers in bloom and lovely ponds)
- clairephedre (10/5): Gorgeous hotel - Breakfast spread was good. Location is ideal since it’s a little outside the busy tourist areas but not too far. Very good staff service we were given free breakfast and we got to paddle in the little lake they hand on premises, feed the farm animals, make the dye handkerchiefs etc
- GeraldSingapore (10/5): Tranquil Hotel with an amazing view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - I chose this hotel simply because of the view it offers, and also, because it is the only Hyatt-affiliated hotel in Lijiang. I stayed here for four nights and as a globalist, they actually gave me a very generous upgrade to a huge suite with a gorgeous balcony that looks out into jade dragon snow mountain.
However, note the name of this hotel as the other hotel on TripAdvisor that also has this name but with Mountain Lodge, is NOT part of Hyatt! That is actually ANOTHER JINMAO HOTEL IN THE JADE DRAGON SNOW MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK. If you don’t read Chinese, please save the proper Chinese name of this hotel from the Hyatt website and use it when getting around because if not, you’ll be definitely be sent to the wrong hotel, and because that is in a national park, security is going to be extremely tight
Although the hotel is not brand new and certain elements do show its age, I still think that it is very well maintained, but manage your expectations as it is not in the modern decor. Think dark wooden earthy tones and dim lights. My favorite element of the room the car was actually the rocking chairs – one in the living room, and another one that is very comfortable in the balcony.
My suite had a huge separate walking closet that is opposite a huge dual-sink bathroom with separated, toilet (no bidet), shower, and bathtub. Toiletries were actually from Karl Lagerfield, and they actually smell very good. They also provided a lot of bottled water – four at the Nespresso machine, two in the bathroom, and during turned down two by your bed.
Comfort wise, the bedding felt like a normal standard Hyatt mattress - it wasn’t very plush and felt more on the firm side. Pillows were OK and did their job pretty well.
The highlight of this hotel is definitely the beautiful compounds it has with a small pond in the middle - with a beautiful Chinese style pavilion tea house that has the majestic mountain in its backdrop. It is also very easy to get a Didi when staying here and you can get to the nearest Ancient towns of Shu He and Baisha easily - both around 10minutes away. The distance from the train station to here around 30 minutes and if you need to get to the airport is around 45 minutes, and to get to the UNESCO Lijiang ancient town, it takes around 20 minutes. You can also reach the mountain easily with this hotel’s location, but when I stayed there, they had a freak March snow (the last time it snowed in March was actually in 2005) which caused the mountain to close so I wasn’t able to make it there.
I highly recommend this hotel if you are a Hyatt enthusiast or someone who loves to stay in a classic Chinese style hotel. If your main priority is to be near Lijiang ancient town than the hotels there might be better suited for you but what I love about this location is that that other two ancient towns are very near here and those two towns are actually more rustically more beautiful.
- Mervyn (10/5): A romantic and enjoyable experience - Location and style Nil
- Lance (10/5): - Room was spacious and very comfortable. Food was pretty good. Service was excellent
- Anita (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much! As our flight was early morning, the team organised breakfast bags for us upon departure. Issues were resolved promptly and efficiently. There are many places to eat close to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again
- vincentmujy (2/5): Fantastic View BUT Unprofessionaly Run! - You would expect more from a resort of this caliber, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing stay for our family's annual trip. Don't get me wrong, the views at the resort were spectacular, but the overall experience was marred by unprofessional service. It certainly didn't meet the standards of a 5-star resort.
- paulfO901YF (8/5): Great experience for kids - Beautiful property, fabulous kids activities - canoe, tie & dye, sugar art making, animal feeding. We had the Peking duck for dinner one day and it was delicious. Breakfast had great selection but can do better with English tea offering - they only had chinese tea available. Will recommend to friends.
- vintc (6/5): Review Stay at Hyatt Lijiang - Coming from banyan lijiang and Jin Mao mountain hotel (their sister hotel), this hotel is a step down. As we arrived, we saw 6-7 staff at the counter, none greeted us and made us feel welcome. We only have discoverist status and they failed to recognize.
During the evening, I observed a staff requesting a guest to give him 5 stars and he will give oxygen tanks for free. I noticed he gave 3 tanks, hence I’ve guess that’s how they get some of their 5 star review.
The hotel is beautifully landscaped, our best experience is at the tea house where we spent a couple of hours drinking tea and our daughter spent time feeding the black swans and canoeing. Una hosted us, she was fantastic even though she is an intern. Patient and listening and conversing.
Upon check out, we asked for a late check out… knowing the discoverist can potentially get 2pm. We need it because our daughter still naps. We were told that we could only check out at 1pm, but weirdly told us after 2 pm we get charged.. I have never have such response from any Hyatt hotel chains before.
It has great restaurants, we had one of our best meals of the trip here. Priced well too.
Our conclusion of this hotel is although beautiful and have plenty of hardware, lacks heart ware. The staff seems very fresh and new, and many are uninitiated and looks tired. We didn’t felt as comfortable here vs, the other 2 lijiang hotel but certainly something the hotel can look to improve. :) I hope this review helps!
- Compass49475859058 (10/5): Jinmao Lijiang experience - The offer of a staff who drove me back to the block where my room is was beyond what I can comprehen with my 30+ years of travelling. He offered to carry me upstairs to my third floor unit after knowing I have just cycled 42km for four hours in an area where altitude is 2700m. His gesture and kindness will forever be remembered. Unfortunately I didn't get his name and of course I didn't take the offer. Nonetheless, I am deeply touched. Thank you Jinmao Lijiang 🙏
- Wai (9/5): Pleasured stay that exceeded expectations, will definitely come back again - A lot of fun activities available, very clean, friendly staff, good food, beautiful sceneries. Our villa is well furnished and we are able to see the mountain view from our balcony. Repeated breakfast items for 3 days stay.
- ranierik2018 (10/5): Exceptional hotel for adults and kids! - The stay was exceptional, from the service of the staff to the rooms to the entire hotel environment. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and went the extra mile to make sure the kids and adults were comfortable and happy. The rooms were huge and beautiful, and the kids were so happy to just stay in the hotel for the hotel activities e.g. feeding the animals, tie dye workshop, swimming in the heated pool. Breakfast was also amazing, amenities pristine. View of the mountain was a plus. 100% recommend!!!
- Pui Shan Alice (10/5):
- leon920412 (10/5): Thank you so much for your help Kelly and 慈仁桑珠 - This is the second time I’ve booked this hotel, and I greatly appreciate the help from Kelly and 慈仁桑珠. I visited in April and loved the service and atmosphere, especially the views of Yulong Mountain. When my dad saw the pictures I sent him, he asked me to book a stay for him in Lijiang. It’s such a beautiful place to find peace and relaxation. Will definitely booked again if we come back.
- Guillaume (9/5): Superb - Beautiful architecture and pleasant mountain views. Great bedding and showers. Hot baths in the spa/pool changing rooms. Raucous pool in the afternoon due to the number of children. Breakfast is also overpriced due to the absence of alternatives nearby.
- Kris (10/5): Exceptional -
- chdeng (8/5): Jinmao Hotel Lijiang: A 4-Star Stay - Location (4.5/5): Conveniently near Shuhe Ancient Town.
Accommodations (3/5): Blend of local charm and modern comfort. Assigned a room with unfinished building view - disappointing.
Dining (5/5): Outstanding culinary experience.
Service (3/5): Helpful concierge with luggage’s and shuttles. However, the overall customer service falls short compared to other Unbound Collection hotels. No prior outreach for Globalists, and the front desk lacks warmth during interactions.
- gil123 (10/5): Beautiful Resort - This is a lovely resort with traditional architecture, beautiful landscaping, great facilities and good service (aside from one grouchy buggy driver who started to argue with us when he misheard the letter of the building we asked to be driven to.) Just wandering around the grounds is pleasant and relaxing, with the animals, the waterways and the historical surroundings. Sometimes in a resort like this things can seem fake or artificial but this place nailed it with high end and well thought out design.
The rooms were nicely designed and we had a good view of the snow capped mountain from our balcony. There was even a small fountain in the stream behind the property that gave a relaxing gurgling sound of being near a stream. A few suggestions to improve housekeeping/rooms setup: don't be so stingy on the toilet paper and towels. There should always be at least two full rolls so people don't run out. Also there was a wash basin in the toilet room-- but no liquid or hand soap so it was not very useful if you like to wash your hands with soap and water. Likewise a nice bathtub but no soap dispenser-- so as a result you had one little bar of soap for the whole room and I guess you are supposed to move it around from the bathtub to the two other sinks as needed? Really poor planning for a five star hotel.
Breakfast was a very nice buffet spread with various options including live cooking stations. Was organized a little weird for some things and you had to hunt around in different rooms for things. For example no spoons available next to the noodle soup bar and you had to go to another room to find them.
We enjoyed the location of the hotel in terms of tranquility but do be aware that it's a longish walk to the beginning of Shuhe ancient town. I'd suggest a ride share or taxi to the entry to the town and save your walking strength for exploring. As an aside, we found the ancient town to be a little disappointing-- overdeveloped, too commercial and crowded for our tastes but many may enjoy the shopping and snacking experience. There are some local restaurants a short walk from the hotel but it seems the better ones are located in the ancient town and not so convenient to walk to.
Overall, can't rate this place less than 5 stars and I would consider it a very good value for the price and unique experience, as long as the location works for you
- Diana (10/5): Beautiful with animals for the kids to feed - One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. The animals were so cute, my kids loved them A little far from town but it's ok as it's meant to be a serene escape
- GTA201516 (10/5): Exceptional & Beautiful - JinMao Hotel Lijiang is indeed a 5+-star hotel. However it is the staff who makes the hotel more than 5-stars by their exceptional warm professionalism provided always with smiles.
The JinMao Hotel grounds, architecture, and interior design exude serenity, calm and beauty with its lake and the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
- NorthStar42261789552 (10/5): Jinmao Lijiang - A very very pleasant stay. Will definitely come back again! Special thanks to Emna for assisting on how to get the free feeding foods for the cute lovely cute animals! It’s a superb kids friendly hotel and relaxing hotel for a family. My kids enjoy it so much! Thanks for the awesome hospitality!
- Chung Man (10/5): - This is a big property. It’s a nice place to relax. Few things can use some upkeeping but that goes with the age of the hotel.
- ahmedalketbi1990 (10/5): Amazing Experience - Absolutely amazing experience in a beautiful setting, the staff are so kind especially Emna from Tunisia. Would definitely be back here again.
- Johnson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adventure20051402680 (10/5): Wew! - Lovely experience with them and had an upgrade too! Jasper was really warm-hearted and welcoming to us.
I would strongly recommend this place. Good to have a snow mountain view as well as a suite. Perfect combination.
Had breakfast too and wow!
- C7404KXshirleyt (10/5): Best hotel in Lijiang! - The service was excellent! Hotel service staff was very patient, professional and flexible to our request to ensure we have the best stay experience. The hotel environment is luxury, quiet and well designed. Highly recommended for couples traveling to Lijiang.
- William (6/5): Beautiful property, but very cold. Bring your jacket. - Aesthetically the property is very nice. The room was clean. 1) All the communal areas (reception, lounge, dining room) weren’t heated and therefore extremely cold.
2) The attentiveness/ attention to detail of the staff is lacking. Possibly due to inexperienced staff members.
- Yi (7/5): Good -
- Lucile (8/5): Good stay in a gorgeous scenery - Gorgeous view and nice spa facilities. Very nice property but starting to be old and not well take care of. I didn’t like that the temperature in the room couldn’t go above 19 degrees.
- Chen (10/5): Amazing hotel - Such a beautiful hotel. The scenery is amazing from every angle. The restaurants and bakery on site were excellent - we were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday and they were able to arrange a cake with candles at very short notice and even delivered a complimentary cake to our room later in the evening! Breakfast buffet had a great spread of western and Asian foods. The kids enjoyed the petting zoo and animal feeding and complimentary hotel activities such as tie dyeing.
Overall, an amazing stay. Nothing
- Nora (9/5): Beautiful hotel close to Shuhe and Baisha ancient towns - Hotel kindly granted our top floor room request with beautiful views of the lake pavilion grounds and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from our balcony. Room was large and comfortable. Buggy service was prompt. Housekeeping staff were excellent - professional and non-intrusive. Staff even laid towels under clothes left on bedside table to keep them clean. We particularly enjoyed our breakfast buffet and the weekend seafood bbq dinner buffet. Hotel grounds were palace-like beautiful with garden paths. There is a European bakery, animals and in-house guest activities offered. Hotel could consider upgrading toilets to full electronic bidet toilets to keep up with newer hotels in Lijiang. It should offer local Yunnan loose leaf tea instead of Dilmah Ceylon teabags and original Nespresso coffee capsules to complement the Nespresso machine in the room. Guests would also appreciate a welcome drink, treat and wet towels upon arrival.
- Man (9/5): Superb -
- Jinglei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (9/5): Overall still a pleasant experience, beautiful setting, our villa was spacious. - Hailson and Vicky the main two colleague looking after hotel pets were very helpful. One of the highlight of the hotel is the in house pet zoo which my two kids enjoyed every day. Hotel has activities for children can easily not have gone outside. We did spent most of our 3 days in the hotel ground. The only pity is that we all got sick from an afternoon meal in the hotel (not sure what it was, may be it was sandwich with uncooked lettuce). The outside seating areas in our Villa was stripped bare, it should have cushions on top of the wooden chairs to enjoy a warm summery day. Kitchen should also have basic cutlery, especially missing a microwave.
- Meghan (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect. The scenery is so beautiful. The staff is incredibly warm and helpful. They make you feel like you’re at home. The hotel and facilities are lovely. The rooms could have been a little cleaner in the bathrooms.
- Hinds (9/5): Superb -
- John (4/5): - Spacious room. The hotel was quiet, in fact too quiet it felt like a ghost town. The shopping area located inside the property was all closed and locked up, and you don't see that many guests around. Service was subpar, definitely not Hyatt's standards.

- Iok Fan (8/5): Quite and beautiful - Food there is not at the standard of this brand I have tried.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Beautiful property hindered by sloppy service - The Property is beautiful.
The service by staff is not so great. When arrived , no staff to welcome or help with luggage. Arrived 3pm time slot. During departure 5am - also no one to help and say good bye.
StAff is sleepy - not sure if is due to low season and not so many people.
- Philippe (10/5): Beautiful resort - Loved the mountain view. Very large and comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.
- Anthony (10/5): - Highly recommend, would definitely stay again. Room was large and lovely. the hotel dining was excellent. Only issues were that I couldn't get a cocktail at the bar as it was a beer-only night. Also, the breakfast started at 0630 which I had to miss as I had to leave for an early flight. There was no in-room breakfast available.
- Carmen (8/5): - Good view, staff are helpful and friendly!
Disappointed to the breakfast is not included!
- Jack (8/5): - Nice hotel, but the location too far from the old town, the staff need more tranning, book the room from Expedia app. After arrived the hotel, the front desk can’t find the reservation, been waiting for almost 2 hours. Finally I Have to told the staff contect thier reserve department, after they confirm the reservation, have to wait for room clean, the staff don’t feel sorry in holetime.
- Jiyeon (10/5): Good experience - I am currently staying at the hayatt hotel.
The hotel is beautifully managed with traditional-style buildings on a spacious ground.
There are many facilities, of which the sauna is particularly spectacular.
And above all, I was impressed by the friendly staff at the grand club.
Sally and Judy provided a careful and friendly service with a smile.
I've booked Hyatt for the first time because member of Accor club. However, due to Sally and Judy kindness, I became more interested in using Hyatt, too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Yuk Loi (10/5): -
- kay mang (4/5): Will not come again until they improve - Beautiful hotel but bad experience. No service at all. We have to clean the table by ourselves at the Club. The worst was they screwed up my friend ‘s hotel bill, use my credit card to settle the bill then called me and asked us to settle it by ourselves. I have never stayed the hotel like this before.
- fonnn (10/5): Good hotel - Good hotel but a location is far from Shuhe old town(walk around 15-20 mins).
From Shuhe old town to hotel-- hard to find a taxi.
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- B&B Travels (6/5): Disappointing for a Grand Hyatt - We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It is a beautiful property with nice rooms. However, during our stay, there was a lack of facilities for guests. Pool was closed without prior notice and the advertised game room cannot even be considered as such. The Chinese restaurant is the most disappointing part of this hotel. The food is not great for the prices they are charging. The service was non-existent at the restaurant. We had to ask for everything and the staff did not anticipate any of our requests. However, when we voiced this to the hotel, they were apologetic and tried to make it right.
- John (10/5): Absolutely gorgeous hotel! - Great hotel. Beautiful surroundings. Courteous and friendly staff. Excellent facilities.
- Lee Ping (10/5): - Awesome!
- MINH GIOAN (8/5): pleasant stay - huge hotel, spreading on a large area. The room, although quite far from the lobby and restaurant, is nice and comfortable, staff well trained to provide a good customer service, complementary transport to the airport. overall, a pleasant stay.
just a note: hotel not close to commercial areas. But taxi is cheap
- Fred (10/5): True 5 star hotel - Very good service, excellent breakfast, attractive layout and facilities best shower in Asia
- Bob (10/5): Amazing Hotel - Amazing View - Amazing Place - Full disclosure: I am a non-Asian American traveling alone in China with limited Chinese skills. When faced with 'issues', I rate the hotel staff by how much they work with me to resolve the problem. Travelers without Chinese skills will still find it very easy to work with hotel staff, especially in the restaurant and tea house.
First, I got lost coming back to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Tourist Service Center. To make an hour ordeal simple, I got off at the wrong bus stop and no one there spoke English. HOWEVER, several phone calls later (yes, I had a Must Have Chinese phone number), two different managers and 4 different language levels and I was back where I belonged. A HUGE shout-out to the staff of the Hyatt Mountain Lodge for coming to my rescue.
The smile I found on a selfie I took told it all - I forgot about everything except enjoying the moment. Yes, you could stay here a month leisurely enjoying all the sights and it would not be a wasted 30 days, I only had three.
The hotel has a bus from Lijiang City to the Mountain Lodge. From there you take a small shuttle close to the tourist center. A bus from there (don't forget to buy some oxygen first), then on to the cable car.
Once off the car, steps take you to the 15,300+ feet platform in the picture (4680m).
Don't try to rush this, it is a climb up and down that takes quite a while.
Maybe I can setup a Go Fund Me for my next trip!
- thuy nga (10/5): Beautiful hotel - near transit stop to jade snow mountain. taxi distance to old town (50 Y mini van for 6)

- Deepak (10/5): Scenic location close to the action - Pretty as heaven. Stayed in the king room with a view. Service at the hotel was fantastic. Staff spoke good enough English to be understood. Lovely restaurants which offered good food and wine with eager staff to help explain the menu. Sophia at the Chinese restaurant was our saviour. Gym was decent enough to sweat it out and the rooms were well appointed looked after well with an abundant supply of water. Remember China is not coffee drinking nation So most coffee are mild.
Location it seems cutoff but that's the beauty - you walk ten to fifteen minutes and you are in the magical old tow of Shuhe old town and a few minutes in the other side you are in the new Lijiang part with access to all local shops and restaurants . As I the concierge for directions and don't be misled that you are no where near civilization .Would I stay here again - the answer is Yes.
- James (10/5): A stunning property - A stunning property. True 5-star
- Wilson (10/5): Luxury hotel with excellent service staff. - Excellent hotel. Serene surrounding and well trained service staff. The room service was excellent too. Food ordered was delivered less than 30 mins even though they say it will need 45 mins.
- Siok Kham (8/5): Great hotel but some imperfections - Rather new and well maintained. We had a room with mountain view, which was really wonderful. One of my complaint is the lack of pillow options. Their pillows were thin and didn't provide sufficient neck support. I had to leave with neck aches for 5 nights. Breakfast was reasonable but not memorable. Menu hardly changed over the 5 days. Another complaint is the club lounge. Service is very good at the club lounge and throughout the whole hotel but cocktails at lounge was limited ala cart set menu and didn't change at all through the 5 days. Taste and quality needs improvement. Staff service is really good, especially Christine and Ada at the reception. Sunny, the f&b manager was friendly and nice. Overall, good hard, nice staff and terrific view of the mountains but food needs improvement and pillow options will be a big plus.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great environment - Overall service was good but the room wasn't in a good condition
