- Tamara (10/5): - This place made our stay in Merida the best ever! We had a room with a private patio that was superb. It was spacious, the cleanliness was unparalleled, the room had everything you could need-fresh towels and room service every day, tv, blanket, toiletries, coffee AND homemade complimentary cookies! The staff and owners are AMAZING! They will be sure you have the best experience. We had breakfast, dinner and drinks at the restaurant downstairs EVERY night and the food WILL NOT disappoint! OMG! Every meal was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! There is a pool, cooking classes, tequila tasting and a garden! It is truly an oasis in the city and I will definitely stay here again when I am in Merida. It would be a pleasure.

- William (8/5): - If like me you vacation at a hotel for a nice room to sleep in but not to spend your whole time there and thus requiring a lot of amenities and luxury, then this place is quite nice. The kitchen and hotel staff are excellent, friendly and anxious to please. Food fantastic for a small hotel. Peaceful locale and walk to points of interest. The only improvement would be hot water instead of luke warm (but the Merida heat makes it tolerable) and better toilet flushing (both of which are not uncommon). Great value for the money. I spent 5 nights. Give them a try!

- Atzela (10/5): - This property is a piece of paradise in the middle of Merida. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The towels were plush, plenty of fresh drinking water. Breakfast was EXCELLENT. The only negative comment I have is about the air conditioning in the room. When we checked in, the room was on fire. And the bathroom was like a sauna. It was 37 degrees Celsius outside and they had left the window open causing the room to heat up even more. We turned on the air conditioning but it took a long time to cool down the room. The bathroom does NOT have an air vent so it stays warm all day and all night. It has a ceiling fan but it is NOT enough. When we would leave during the day, the hotel would turn off our air. For the price we paid, I expected to have a cool room waiting for me, not a sauna. This was very frustrating.

In afternoon they offer u a complementary alcoholic beverage and delicious snacks Yucatecan style. Besides, all these great amenities, the staff and owners are there to help u with anything U need. From making dinner reservations, calling u a cab, planning a cooking class, sightseeing tours, etc. they truly make U feel at home. Cannot wait to come back.

- Sharon (10/5): Beautiful hotel, gracious service and great food - We were sad to leave this beautiful, well-run hotel. From the minute we walked in the door, the staff served us generously, efficiently and graciously. Our luggage was in our room before we finished our welcome drinks. We opted to eat both a late lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant because the food was outstanding and it was served next to the pool and the lush surrounding garden. The room was immaculate and well furnished, including a small refrigerator, plenty of drinking water and complimentary toiletries. Because we had to leave for the airport before the breakfast hour, the staff offered to pack sandwiches we could take with us. The owner had a taxi waiting for the airport run and got up early to help us with luggage and checkout. The location is within a short walk of the central square, cathedral and several smaller parks featuring terrific restaurants. We definitely would stay at the Merida Santiago on a future trip to the city.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Second stay at this beautiful 6 room boutique hotel. A slight walk to central square and further to the paseo but worth the walk or a cheap cab ride. The owners Jan and Rita are excellent, very helpful and knowledgeable. Included breakfast is the best I’ve had in Mexico, fresh fruit, fruit juice and pastries made in the open kitchen daily. Simple yet intricate American or Mexican breakfast. Happy hour daily with free drink and snack. Pricey but worth it in my opinion. Will return and definitely recommend.

The room was beautiful with an ensuite bathroom that included a soaker tub and a large walk-in shower. The beds were very comfortable. The location was a short walk to parks and shopping. We were welcomed at a reception with a drink and snacks; a nice touch. The staff was very welcoming. A nice vibe- everyone loves working there and it shows.

- Perry (10/5): Great place to stay in Merida. - Fantastic boutique hotel. Very friendly and helpful host. I suggest you partake in the mescal tasting with Rodrigo (Roe). He is very knowledgeable and engaging. Also the cooking class offered daily is fun and instructive. The chief David knows his stuff. The visit to the market to get our groceries was great. Lots of food at the end of it for lunch so bring your appetite.

The chef Jacob is a star and the place was very clean. I’ve stayed in thousands of hotels (really) and this one is definitely in the top 10%. It’s a small hotel with excellent service and great food.
- Christina E (10/5): Stay here, it's wonderful! - Incredible experience from the moment we walked in. Hostess greeted us and offered to take our bags and poured us a glass of wine. She walked us through the city map and what sites/restaurants not to miss. When my husband and I took a break at the pool the staff asked us if we'd like anything to drink or eat. Comfortable bed and beautiful large bathroom. One thing to note is that it's a bit of a walk (maybe 20 minutes or so) to Plaza Grande, and a half hour walk to Paseo de Montejo. This did not bother us - the area is totally safe. Upon departure, the hotel knew we had an early flight, so they made us sandwiches to take on the plane. The owner also woke up early to say goodbye. Overall, super impressed and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. We'll be back!

The hotel is immaculate and the rooms are large and very comfortable. Their food is delicious and inventive. It is located not too far from the city center. They have a bar and a restaurant onsite. My wife and I really loved this hotel. We have nothing but good things to say. Rita and Jan are the perfect hosts- very friendly and knowledgeable about the whole area. Their staff are great, the food delicious and the rooms very well equipped, clean and comfortable. I can’t recommend more highly.

- Rhiannon (10/5): Beautiful hotel with super friendly owner & staff - Beautiful hacienda style hotel with incredibly friendly owner and staff who went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Room and pool were beautiful; breakfasts delicious with lots of choice; and social time (free drink and a chef-made snack) was a real highlight. Also a nice peaceful location whilst being only a short walk into the centre of town. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Merida!

- A (10/5): Amazing boutique hotel - This was our last stop on our 3 week honeymoon in Mexico, and this lovely hotel as well as the beautiful city of Merida made it our favourite stop. Jan and Rita truly deserve the amazing reviews. Thank you for making us feel welcomed and comfortable from the start to end. We appreciated all the little touches, from keeping the restaurant open late so we could have dinner there when we arrived after a long drive, endless bottles of water during our stay, social hour snacks and drinks (which were delicious), advice on what to do/eat in Merida, and just the overall friendliness and warmth of everybody working there. The hotel itself is beautiful and charming, especially the restaurant area which is colourful and overlooks the lovely pool. The breakfast was the best we had out of all the hotels we stayed at during this trip, and the guacamole we had here one night was also the best we had tried in Mexico! Will definitely return here.

- Andy (10/5): Great little hotel - Hotel was very nice and clean, well painted and great atmosphere. Fantastic breakfast is included and cooked in the cleanest kitchen I've seen in Mexico. Owner Yan was extremely helpful and interesting to talk to. He is helpful in explaining why things are the way they are in Merida and the Yucatan. The only thing that I didn't like was paying $35mex for a coffee before complimentary coffee started at 7:30am. One km from plaza grande is a little bit of a walk but the cabs are very cheap. Excellent hotel, would recommend and would definitely return.

- Jaime (10/5): JACKPOT! - This gem was the perfect stay for our honeymoon in Merida!! Location was very close to many amazing little restaurants And historical sites. The neighborhoods we're safe and friendly to walk in. Jan and Rita and thier team are AMAZING and so personable. We are huge fans of the little things and there are so many perks and surprises here that make the stay unforgettable. The rooms are super clean, conditioned, and always a fresh little bottle of Mexican Coke in the fridge. Front desk is so helpful with information on local things to do and how to do them. Although my wife and I speak Spanish, English is not a problem here or throughout Merida for that matter. Breakfast every morning makes you feel like you're waking up at your favorite relative's house with a full spread of yummy fuel to start your day. Thank you to the hotel for the love and perfect accommodation on the most special vacation in our memory!!
- Anna (10/5): Lovely small hotel with great atmosphere - A lovely place for our 3 night stay in Merida. the hotel is a little tucked away so make sure you ask the taxi driver for the "Merida Santiago" as there is also a hotel called "Santiago"! The street is quiet and area feels secure. The hotel facilities are atmospheric, smart and clean. A courtyard pool provides a delightful outlook for all rooms. The management are very approachable and on hand to offer suggestions for eating, outings and general town experiences. A social hour is included early evening, giving travellers a chance to catch up, compare with others and quiz the owners for things to do. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

- Ali/Felicitas (10/5): Off the Beaten Path Gem in Merida - We chose Merida Santiago Hotel Boutique based on overwhelmingly positive reviews. We were very satisfied. From the moment we arrived tired and hungry, co-owner Jan arranged for us to have a light meal, even though the kitchen was closing down, and then provided us with a thorough inspection of our room. The lovely couple who own the hotel, Jan and Rita, were friendly and gracious hosts. In fact, the entire staff was welcoming and helpful. We started each day with a delicious (included) breakfast that consisted of fresh local fruit, coffee, a different fresh fruit juice each day, pan dulce and a delicious main course. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the Plaza Grande and is in the much quieter Santiago neighborhood. Taking a short taxi ride to town is also an option. Rita and Jan patiently provided us with extremely helpful tour, dining, shopping and cultural information. Each evening between 6:30-7:30PM, we looked forward to interacting with our fellow travelers during the nightly social hour. Complimentary drink and appetizer were included. When we were hungry, we easily ordered a delicious and reasonably priced meal from the menu. The tour company that does business with the hotel, Maya Heritage, was also superb and had reasonable rates. This hotel is clearly designed for friendly visitors who enjoy socializing with the hotel family and fellow travelers. Our stay was a genuinely rewarding experience and we enthusiastically recommend Merida Santiago Hotel Boutique.

It was also good to mingle with other guests over complimentary drinks and snacks.

- Angela (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - From the moment you walk in Jan and Rita make you feel like valued guests. They explain where you are in relation to the town and essential services like ATMs etc and what you might find of interest close by. Jan booked a tour to Chicha nitza for us which was great and a good price and worded is up on a good bar for a refreshing beer. The rooms are spotless, the beds are comfortable and the hotel itself is beautifully layed out with nice little corners to relax. The food is all tasty and basically it can not be faulted. Enjoy!
- Wanderlust (10/5): Amazing! - Our stay at this 6 room boutique hotel so over-delivered on expectations, it is hard to know where to begin. From check-in to check-out everything was outstanding – location a short walk to the main square, quiet street, impeccably clean, beautiful rooms, cocktails and an innovative delicious snack every evening as well as arming you with water every time you ventured out. Breakfast which is included offered American options as well as Mexican specialities with fresh fruit, made on-site fruit juices, pastries and jams as well as an endless of supply of coffee and tea. Spending time at the pool is like being in an oasis. The food preparation and presentation by the breakfast staff and their evening chef who prepares meals for those guests wishing to dine on-site was outstanding. Owners Jan and Rita as well as Anna on reception could not do enough to make your stay more enjoyable from recommending sights based on your interests, their incredible knowledge of the area and arranging everything from transportation to reservations. It is a hotel that you want to rate over the highest score. It is truly a 5 on steroids! We would not even consider an alternative hotel on any future trips.

Room was very comfortable, and a marvelous location, away from town but well within walking distance of everything central, including good restaurants. - Yossi & Eti (10/5): Home away from home - Enjoyed a week long stay at this small but cosy boutique hotel. The place is very confortable, very clean and makes you feel so welcomed and well taken care of. This is mainly thanks to the owners and the staff who will give the best personal attention to every need and whim, with a warm smile. They helped us plan our stay with day trips around Merida, tips on daily events in the town, where to shop and where to dine. The breakfasts offered are delicious and varied, with fresh tropical fruit and juices and a variety of gourmet pastries and breads. All this at the poolside, with a personal touch and smile. They have an inhouse team of shefs who offer very good staple meals with Mayan flavour, which they have willingly agreed to adjust to some of our special diatery needs. The social hour with complementary drinks and bites was a nice oportunity to meet other guests and have stories and views exchanged with Jan the owner. On Christmas Eve we had a surprise bouquet of flowers adorning our room and a bottle of complementary red wine, from the owners. We had a great time with them, enjoyed every moment and gladly recommend it to anyone visiting Merida. The only downside for us was the distance from the main square, which is only a few block away, but still... Anyway, it was easily solved with the rather cheap taxi service.

- Harold F (10/5): This was an unbelieveably wonderful place to stay - This hotel would be a bargain at twice the price. The food we got there was the best we experienced in our five days in Merida. The included breakfast was excellently prepared and served. The breakfast included a Juice of the day,a fresh fruit cup, a daily variety of tasty pastries, coffee, and was followed by an entree of your choice(all of which were great). The suite, one of six, was tastefully decorated, comfortable. and exceeded our expectations.
