Guest Reviews
- Merideth (2/5): - Desperately needs updating and remodeling!
This was rated as a 4 star. No way!
- George (8/5): - Nice clean rooms, easy to get to and pet friendly..only $10 charge. Would stay again.
- Kristine (6/5): Solid nights sleep at an affordable rate. - Room was clean and comfortable for 1 night. My room request was honored and it was thankfully quiet. The entire property could stand to be renovated, but for the very reasonable rate it was a win.
- Clarissa (8/5): - Clean room rate very good ,bed comfy. Continental breakfast as well.
- Mary (10/5): - Loved it
- Shelbie (8/5): - Very clean, quite, and quaint.
- Sterling (8/5): - Good room. Breakfast was below average. Only cereal and waffles. No orange juice.
- John (10/5): - Excellent
- Sally (6/5): - Okay
- Douglas (8/5): - The room and its furnishings were better than expected.
- TIFANI (6/5): Thank you - I was in room 119. The bed was pretty good, the shower head/pressure was amazing!!! Pillows were great for me. The TV would be rated a 1☆. The gentleman came to my room to try and find the guide and finally said Cox must be having problems. It's not Cox.
That was a big downside for me. Would I stay here, again? If I was in the area, maybe.
- Bradley (8/5): Rodeway in Salina - I need to pull off I-70 for the night. What I’d note about Rodeway:
- Spacious clean room
- Comfortable King bed
- Dorm size fridge and microwave
- Quiet
- Small table and desk was great for doing work
- Check in staff was polite.
- Had a lot of outlets, but no USB ports
- Continental breakfast was pretty sparse - coffee, a couple pastries, a couple slices of bread, a few pieces of fruit, and make your own waffle.
- Jeff (8/5): - Beds were very comfortable, rooms were nice
And clean
- Rebecca (4/5): Salina Rodeway - Room was very stale.Dirt was obvious on rug. I would have moved hotels but was very late on arrival.
Breakfast options included waffles, apples & muffin mix. Coffee was available but was warm at most.
- Leslie (6/5): - It was ok for one night. Older and in need of some repairs and deep cleaning. Breakfast was ok. Probably would not stay there again.
- Imelda (2/5): - The place is dirty and bad service. All furniture is old and dirty. I will never stay in this place again. The only reason I stay and had no choice because I arrived at 2am. But just stay for 3 hour and left. Please don’t waste your money in the place.
- James (6/5): Probably won't stay there again. - The carpet in the room had just been shampooed that day. The floor was VERY wet. The room smelled very musty. The towels were old and very thin.
The breakfast had no source of protein.
- Kenneth L (2/5): Not so good - The king size bed was broken on one half resulting in a huge dip or depression in the surface contour. Worse, the room had an incredibly strong musty odor, likely from dampness in the highly humid environment. The dampness made the tile bathroom slippery. As for location, the hotel is just far enough from I-70 that noise is not great, but only if the windows are closed. On the other side of the hotel is a huge truck stop, contributing to the undesirableness of the place.
- Jeff (2/5): HORRIBLE - I got this room for my son and daughter-in-law for their first stop on their honeymoon trip. August 1st, and their room was 80°, AC running full blast. He told "management" about it and they came and checked it and said it was running fine! We disagreed and asked for another room, which we were told he had none, but he would look at the unit again. After failing to make the unit work, he miraculously came up with another room - with three full size beds in it! But the AC worked. Yay. The sink, however, would not drain and they could not use it. They brushed their teeth / etc in the bathtub. DO NOT USE THIS INN. I had a room for the same night but after talking with my son, I paid out for another room at another inn down the road and just counted this as a loss. I wasn't about to try it. I apologize to my son and daughter-in-law!! I'M SORRY, GUYS!!!!
- Brian (10/5): - Great hotel in a great location. Small parking area but still had room for my RV.
- Shelia (10/5): - Na
- Janice (2/5): - Overwhelming use of chemical air freshener not suitable for people with allergies to chemicals.
- John (8/5): - Nice room but no elevator to the 2nd floor.
- Karen (10/5): - Room was clean and very comfortable. Location is right off highway and a short drive to Salina- very cute town with a great coffee shop and options for dining.
Staff is professional and accommodating…waffles and fresh apples for breakfast always a plus!
- Kelly (2/5): - BEDBUGS! fled at 4 a.m.
Before that, had to ask for a shower curtain as there was none. Staff tried to get me to hang it up myself because she was shorter than me and would "have to get a stool".
- Karen (10/5): - Exactly as described on the website!! Very pleased with everything ;)
- Terry (10/5): - Clean ,well maintained
- Elizabeth (2/5): - This rooms not ADA compliant - no elevator. I “lucked” out with a first floor room however there is mold in the bathroom behind the toilet a visible signs of flooding or plumbing issues that affected the bottom of door and floor tiles. Bathroom fan is covered in dust.
Poor cover up caulk jobs around the room and the beds feel old. Ten year old mattresses or older. AC filter is dirty and sounds like it is about to die. The tub drain is corroded and rusty and has hair clogging it. The mini fridge freezer dirty and wasnt freezing
- Kimberly (10/5): - Comfortable and good price
- mrath (6/5): Check-in Clerk needs better issue resolution skills. - At first, the lady at the front desk at check in seemed knowledgeable and friendly, however once I got to my room, I noticed that it was lacking a remote control for the television. The first attempt was to try a different remote control they had at the front desk, however after figuring out that it didn't work, the response was that there is nothing they can do until the representative from the cable company came to reprogram it. I made the suggestion to switch to a different room, which the clerk was reluctant to do, concerned that I "used" the room. She even came to inspect my initial room prior to reassigning me to a different room (which did have a remote and was in better shape). If there is an issue with a guest room, it should not matter if the bathroom was used or the bed has been turned down to determine whether or not a new room would be assigned. Such room should be taken out of service, and housekeeping should "refresh" the room after the issue is resolved and before it is put back in service. While the exterior and the lobby appears to be remodeled/kept up, the guest rooms show wear and tear, and have a musty smell. They have an ample continental breakfast, including waffles. The clerk it worked with at check-out was helpful and friendly.
- John (4/5): - Dirty run down hotel. Awful breakfast. Drywall patches everywhere. Wet carpet
- Michele (8/5): Good for the price and location - Check in was swift and easy. Bed was old and squeaky. Some areas of room were not clean and should have been clean.
- SEA (2/5): - I would not recommend staying here. Breakfast was next to nothing and milk and waffle mix turning. Old and needs a great deal of maintenance. Smelled musty. Staff were difficult to understand and when asked for coffee, had to look for someone snd then acted put off for the request.
- Cynthia (8/5): - Overnight stay with dogs.
- Gilbert (10/5): Thanks Raj - This second stay provided a more than adequate experience. Thanks to Raj and staff.
- Krista (10/5): - Property is clean, quiet, good service, comfortable beds, and pet friendly. Great place to stop for the night when traveling.
- Dale (10/5): - Clerk was helpful when car battery was drained.
- Matt (10/5): - It was ok
- Jackie (10/5): - Checkin in was easy. Room was very good
- Jolene (8/5): - The price was great. The bed was comfortable. Things definitely looked a little worn, but was clean for the most part.
- Robert (8/5): - The desk clerk was very nice and the rooms were clean. The bed was amazing
- JOEL (10/5): - Clean!
- Julius (6/5): - It was an okay place
- Steven (10/5): - Good location and price
- Annette (2/5): - It was close to the interstate
- Sabbrina (10/5): - It was quiet and clean
- karen (2/5): - Room is dirty, unwrapped soap in sink. Gross
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very nice employees and very clean and big rooms. Nice bed
- Gilbert (8/5): Decent room for the price. - Proprotors were friendly and willing to fill all our requests. Room was adequately clean, and linens replaced daily. Enjoyed the pancakes but would have liked orange juice which was unavailable all 9 days of our stay. One can only drink just so much apple juice. Room was quiet and could not hear the truck stop across the street.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Get what you pay for - Wanted a cheap room, definitely get what you pay for. Room and property felt dirty and due an upgrade. Bathroom shower drain had huge hairball
- Erin (6/5): - The guy that checked me in very rude. The room was very clean.
- Rhonda (2/5): - I believe any good ratings at this property must have been paid for. The hotel is worn out and dirty. The vacuum must be under repair. Nothing has been updated in a while. I would hesitate to sit on the couch in the lobby.
Breakfast was included but there was no coffee this morning and very little to eat. There was cold cereal and packaged bakery.
- morris (8/5): - Overall, the property was good.
Everything elseverything else seems to be average but,the Only thing I didn't like, was the wifi, slow and it sucks
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good overnight stay for a long trip!
- Katherine (6/5): Good Stay While on the Road - Good stay for while we were on our to Colorado. Bed wasnt that comfy but it was simple for an ovenight! Staff was good! There was breakfsft available but we were not able to check it out.
- MaryPat (6/5): - The bed linens were clean. The property was old and dirty.
- johnsF2191YW (2/5): The worst - Manger being rude didn’t wanted to help what’s so ever . I wouldn’t recommend and rooms smell bad . The merchant had put a hold on my account and couldn’t refund my money back and when I went to ask questions told me to just leave and gave bad customer service.
- Peter (10/5): - Cozy and the people who own it found my husbands phone and returned it to us. Thank you!
- INDRI (10/5): - Very clean
- Thomas (6/5): - Older property that was clean but needing some TLC. Cracks in the walls, sloppy painting to cover up. Limited breakfast items, no protein.
- Amethyst (10/5): - It's a hotel, not great, not horrible.
- Jolene (10/5): - Cozy rooms with a comfortable bed. Sweet little touches to make you feel important.
- Effie (4/5): - This is an old motel and it shows. table in my room was so loose I couldn't set anything on it. Tables and chaites in the dining area wobbled too. Place was clearn enough but the bathroom didn't have a vanity. Towels and wash cloths were out in the bedroom closet. Supposed to be a handicap room but I don't know how any one could get in the bathtub. Just glad I was there for one night and didn't need more then a bed.
- Holly (10/5): - Decent place to spend the night. Nothing fancy but it was clean. Comfy bed.
- Margaret (4/5): - .
- Tony (8/5): - Would recommend
- Robin (4/5): - I booked Rodeway Inn because Expedia showed high ratings. However, this place was not up to standard based on other hotels I've stayed. I'd recommend deep cleaning behind furniture and in the couch/chairs. I also recommend they refurbish the bathroom areas. Breakfast options were minimal, and the waffle station ran out before we had our turn. Staff did not appear happy to serve (maybe understaffed).
- Dawn (6/5): - I stayed 1 night. The price was good. The room had a weird odor. The room is very outdated. When I checked in, no one was st the desk. I rang the bell and a man came from the back area. Never said hello. He asked my last name. Asked for my credit card and drivers license. Ran my credit card. Handed both back to me. Wrote WiFi password and room number on the room key cover, handed it to me and walked away. I didn’t have breakfast there so I can’t comment on that.
- Glenn (6/5): - Sits between A large truck stop faciltiy and Interstate highway
- Johnna (8/5): - Clean, Quiet, Very Affordable.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great value
- Larry J. (8/5): - Would stay here again. Easy to find.
- Greg (8/5): - It was a good place to stay for the night if on a budget. I chose this location as I would be in meetings most of my stay & only was in the room to sleep & clean up.
- Larry (6/5): - The facility was generally poorly maintained with dirty carpeting in the lobby, stairs and hallways. My room was mostly clean, but the water in the room never did fully warm up. The bed was very comfortable.
- Raymond (10/5): - Older motel, clean and neat. Bed was softer than I prefer. Was not there for breakfast.
- Becky (4/5): Disgusting, Dirty Dive - The bath towel had a hole in it the size of a small plate!! The other "white" towels were a dingy brownish. The edges of the carpet were filthy looking as if they had never been vacuumed. The live-in owner/desk clerk was not friendly or accommodating. Truly a dive. I booked this accidentally thinking I was booking Holiday Inn, not Rodeway Inn! I was praying we wouldn't get bitten by bed bugs. Couldn't sleep for fear our truck would get stolen. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Disgusting to say the least. Shame on you people for not caring enough or having pride in your hotel!!
- JLynn (4/5): - Before staying here, I reviewed the feedback and didn't expect top-notch amenities but hoped for a clean, basic room. Unfortunately, I would strongly advise against walking barefoot on the carpet. It contained remnants of food, beer caps, and even contact lenses (yes, how does one lose three?). When the room key didn’t work, the property owner insisted the customer repeatedly go up and down the stairs to prove the issue, rather than to offer assistance or investigate the issue proactively.
The breakfast experience was equally unappealing. The tables were dirty, and the food offered was subpar. Packaged pastries were stale, the milk for cereal was in a shared jug stored in a microfridge with a freezer covered in a block of ice. I observed the owner adding new waffle mix to the old batch without cleaning the container and storing the whisk in the bottom of a dirty cabinet afterward.
The room itself had significant issues. A noticeable hump ran through the middle of the floor, likely due to structural concerns. Cracks in the walls, evidence of prior leaks patched on the ceiling, and attempts to fill separating corners with epoxy were apparent. The floor boards were also had gaps from where the floor and wall not longer aligned. Structural issues seem to be a broader concern, making a remodel unlikely.
While there were spiders in the room, we didn’t encounter roaches or bed bugs, which was a positive, but just would roll the dice somewhere else before coming back.
- Janice (10/5): Pleasantly surprised - The we had a suite we really enjoyed that. The rooms were very clean. The bed was comfortable. We had a great stay. The price was very reasonable
- Elaine (8/5): - The room was very clean. Staff were friendly. The motel was right next to a truck stop so trucks coming and going all night but if you are able to sleep through that then its a good place to stay.
- Christian (10/5): - clean
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs more maintenance - Lots of ice in the parking lot several inches think. Corners of the room looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. Sheets and towels were all clean. Bed was very old and uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (4/5): below average at best - room was dirty, bed way too soft
- Verified traveler (6/5): - needs repairs, rusty plug, bathroom door paint is flaking off at bottom and the midget toilet is loose and rocks side to side
- Cornie (4/5): - Many issues with this place. The snow had not been cleared for parking. We were given a room but when we entered, we realized that it had not been cleaned and so we got a different one. The entire hotel is grimy. Breakfast was a disappointment. The juice machine was empty, we had to find out own bowls, the food shelves were bare. This is a budget hotel but not managed well.
- jonjaco (8/5): Served its purpose and it was comfortable - It was a great stay it served its purpose I had a good night great rest woke up in the morning wasn't too far away from restaurants. It was easy to get to just right off the interstate I couldn't ask for anything better than this hotel on the budget I was on
- Courtney (6/5): Meh - Stayed here because it was pet friendly. Service was slow, rooms was definitely old, cracked tile, dirty carpet (don't look behind or next to the couch) toilet paper roll falling out of the wall. I'd give the continental breakfast a 2/10. They were out of coffee, had only red apples and the cereal was stale. The one redeeming quality was the bed and pillows, super comfy.
- Bill (10/5): Clean but dated - It was a good value, but the bed was too soft.
- Gary (6/5): - No hot water and a slippery shower -tub
- DINAH (10/5): - Close to highway, so a bit noisy. Nothing o e could not deal with
- tom (8/5): - Quick, easy access
- Emily (10/5): - Affordable and close to airport
- Leanna (8/5): Good, bad and .... - The carpeted room was good. Beds were good. No counter top in the bathroom, just a little shelf on the wall by the sink. You could move the shower pipes in the walls. There are safety bars in the bathroom and tub. Heat/cold unit works nicely. They should pull the carpet up and replace with laminated tiles for cleanliness. Nice tv, fidge works well. Lamp on the dresser didn't work and when my husband pulled the tray out to make coffee, a medium sized roach came out to say good morning, then ran back under the coffee maker. Also, the lamp shades could use a little dusting.
- Tina (10/5): Excellent place to stay - I have stayed here four or more times now. Any time I am in Salina I plan to stay here. I always get the same room and it is perfect for me.
- Sue (6/5): - Just ok
- Timothy (8/5): - Good place to sleep and get back on the road
- judith (8/5): - Breakfast choices were few.
- William (6/5): - Staff were very pleasant. The dining area trash can was full and streaked with all manner of filth. Our room smelled musty and there was a cockroach in the bathtub. The bed was comfortable. The A/C was loud and squeaky. We only needed to be there for about 8 hours so it suited our needs. I can’t complain too much given the price point. This room was very affordable, but you get what you pay for.
- Cindy (6/5): - It needed to be updated. There was an unusual smell. Not unpleasant but strange.
- Andrew (6/5): - The property is just off I-70, so it is convenient. The bed was comfortable. The place seemed a little bit run down, but everything worked. Good water pressure in the shower. The breakfast was adequate, but nothing exceptional (typical waffle maker, cold cereal, some packaged pastries, apples, toaster, but oj dispenser broken).
- Dennis (10/5): - Close to i70
