Guest Reviews
- Ace7878 (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE! - We had an absolutely awful experience at this hotel with our 3 young children. There is no way this is a 5 star hotel, probably more like a 2 star if I'm being generous. The rooms are dark, cold, damp, mold. You literally can't see while taking a shower. Floors were dirty and parts of the hotel look abandoned. We were so thankful to only stay here for one night. There are so many better places to stay in Agua caliente for LESS money. The best was they told me they would not charge me for a cot for my 7year old child. I confirmed 3 times that they would not charge me and they said free of charge. Upon checkout they charged me $270 which was over 50% the cost of the entire room. This is still in dispute with my credit card company as the crazy woman at the front desk was screaming at me and my kids and not allowing me to leave for my train until I gave her my credit card. I would not recommend anyone ever go to this hotel. The people working there were rude, unfriendly and left bags unattended multiple times.
- davidkC9011QJ (6/5): Definitely not five stars. - A beautiful property with large rooms. We had the unexpected luxury of a heated plunge pool. However, not everything works simply. The safe is complicated, and required a maintenance man to assist us. Getting hot water in the shower, required calls to different staff until someone who knew what they were doing showed us what to do. The food in the restaurant was barely average and the service, frankly in the evenings was slow but was better at breakfast. The most expensive property we stayed in on our Peru visit and a long way short of the asserted five stars.

- Sussman (10/5): - Beautiful property and grounds. The spa was amazing. Our room was lovely and quiet. The service was impeccable. The bathroom was a little dark, and our room was bit designed well to organize our things. But, again, as I said, all was exquisite!
- Bruno (8/5): -
- pjcharles (10/5): jungle vibe - This hotel is in a great location near the train - but you can't hear the train. The rooms are very nice. It is very damp there, so I can tell they have to work on keeping control of the mold. Our room had a hot tub that was out of commission. Breakfast was good, and I had no complaints.
- PHXtraveler2012 (10/5): A great hotel experience - Wow, an incredible hotel experience. We were blessed to get an upgraded room for our one night. Two floors, working fireplace, 2 outdoor showers, wonderful bed. I loved the hot water bottles (a thing at all our hotels in Peru), and the experience crossing the railroad tracks to get to dinner and breakfast! It’s almost like a jungle with beautiful flowers and greenery throughout. You can hear the river running through nearby and it’s quiet other than the railroad a few times.
Great food at the restaurant. Would highly recommend.
- mkristinel2017 (10/5): Excellent Hotel for Machu Picchu - Our travel agency booked this hotel for us, and we are glad we stayed at the base of Machu Picchu – we highly recommend spending the night here for any tour of the Incan ruins. The hotel is nestled between two rivers that feed into the Amazon, so you can hear rushing water on the property. There are a lot of hotels in this city that are on the main drag, with the sound of buses driving by all day. This hotel is off the main roadway so it has beautiful grounds with the only sound rushing water. The restaurant is right next to one of the rivers, so a lovely view. We had a Junior Suite, which included a porch. You can walk anywhere in Aguas Calientes from the hotel, including the buses that take you up to Machu Picchu. This is an excellent choice for your tour of Machu Picchu.

- Journey308663 (6/5): Great atmosphere, but not easy to get around hotel. - A lot of climbing irregular stone stairs with inadequate lighting to get around hotel. Not quite enough signage to find rooms. Room itself was lovely and atmospheric, but lighting in bathroom was insufficient.
- 962bethb (2/5): Absolutely terrible - We unfortunately stayed at this hotel for 2 nights; the property is in poor repair. One restaurant is closed, and you have to cross the active train tracks for the one that is open. The rooms are dark and damp; the floor is unfinished stone, impossible to walk on without shoes and making dirt on the bed when you get in. The train is adjacent and very loud, but the construction noise is what woke us at 6am.
The first morning after check-in, one of the rooms flooded with sewage (as did the one next door). When we called, the staff knew immediately what rooms, so clearly it is not a new problem. They said they would move us to a new room by 10am. As of 10:45 (when we left for excursion), no room available. They said they would store our bags and get everything set for our return. When we got back at 4pm, the bags were sitting unattended outside on a bench. They then escorted us to one of the farthest rooms in the property, up multiple poorly lit and slippery steps, and as far as possible for the other family member. When we complained, they said that was that. The staff was surly and unapologetic. They did offer us a free massage (that we did not want).
That night, we found a lizard in the room. And, the housekeeping staff harassed us by knocking on the door 6 times for turn down service, which we declined 6 times.
This is not a 5 star property. It is better ranked at 2 stars, being generous.
- Victor (10/5): -
- Maria Cecilia (10/5): Recomendado 100% - Todo.
- Anel (10/5): Amazing hotel - Beautiful property and gardens Nothing
- Harada (8/5): Excellent service, beautiful property, perfect location. - It was wonderful to have breakfast and dinner included. There were excellent and delicious options. The milk used for cereal gave two members in our family who ate it food poisoning.
- G459HYjenniferl (8/5): Great option for what’s available in Aguas Calientes - I am here now with my 9 year old daughter and I wanted to help make sense of some of the very polarizing reviews I read before I came:
1. Yes, you can occasionally hear the trains but it’s not overwhelming nor constant.
2. No, this is not a 5 Star hotel in the traditional, “international” sense. The rooms are more like 3 Star BUT this is a very nice location considering the options here. Even the Belmond Sanctuary would not be considered 5 Star elsewhere.
3. They are very well versed in the basics that travelers need: luggage service to/from the train, water stations, afternoon tea, secure premises, etc.
Bottom line: do not expect the Four Seasons but Inkaterra is a fantastic option while staying in Aguas Calientes. Hope this helps.
- JUNGYOON (9/5): Amazing experience, well-spent time. - The room and the hotel's atmosphere in general were just beautiful and very well maintained. The service from the staff was amazingly so hospitable and very pleasant. The food at the cafe restaurant was delicious as well. It is a big hotel, so I didn't have enough time to look around everywhere because I only stayed one night. Totally my fault - but next time I would definitely stay longer!
- Ludek (9/5): -
- YorkieJuly1969 (4/5): No way 5 Star! - This is by no way a 5 star hotel, our room was damp, smelt fusty and the warning signs were there immediately, a de-humidifier! An inadequate heater for such a large room. No blackout curtains, no facilities whatsoever other than a bottle of filtered water. Had to air our clothes in the morning as they were damp. We received a note under our door in the morning from the reception staff, this was also damp.
The restaurant and bar also smelled very damp and not inviting, very dark. We sent our meal back, over cooked and heavily seasoned with rock salt.
What a disappointment after such a wonderful experience at Machu Picchu. Do not book this hotel.
- davidcA7236FB (4/5): Not a 5 star hotel - This is not a 5 star hotel! Whilst it is in lush rainforest it is also right next to the train line and Urubamba river which constantly roars past the premises. All rooms are damp, dark and very dated with few facilities. The food is poor, we sent ours back. As other reviews advise there are no black out curtains. Common areas are also dark and uninviting and also damp
- alr562016 (6/5): Three Star Experience at a Five Star Price - We have a mixed review: the hotel is visually stunning, from its landscaping to the building structures and location. The staff led tour by Wilfredo was very impressive -- through the orchid garden, tea plantation and house, and also very educational about the property and flora/fauna generally.
However, this should not be considered a five star hotel. The rooms are dark, small, and get cold at night. We had some bugs and the fireplace wouldn't stay on. The hot tub and pool need cleaning and are filled with debris. The food is very mediocre and whereas other hotels will provide you with complimentary tea to help with altitude sickness and digestion, you only get one cup a day here. We had an experience with lomo saltado here that was covered in fat and impossible to cut and chew and there was no attempt to address the issue.
Look, it's a fine hotel to stay at. And we get it is difficult to run a hotel in the mountains. But considering this price and the advertised "five star", take your hard earned money elsewhere.
- NeilCu (8/5): Nice enough but there’s better around MP - Super grateful for a very early check in when one of our party became very unwell.
The rooms feel basic and a bit tired but authentic furnishings. Public areas similar.
A couple of times reception staff’s attitude was confusing and cold… a smile goes a long way but they barely tried which is sad. Chatting between themselves in Spanish made us feel like something was wrong when challenged they said it wasn’t, was weird tbh.
The restaurant was awarded Michelin star in Dec 2025 apparently and whilst some of the courses were commendable, some were not of a high standard.
Nice enough stay in MP but after a delicious lunch at Hotel Sumaq I wished we’d stayed there when the staff were overwhelmingly happy and helpful.
- Evgeniia (10/5): Amazing and highly recommended - Inkaterra hotels are truly one of the best in Peru, and such a delight. We felt so taken care of throughout our short stay. They help with the luggage and meet you personally at the train station at the arrival and same for the departure.
Hot tubs really helped to relax after the day of trip. Territory of the hotel is enormous and absolutely gorgeous. They have gardens, tea plantations, orchids and hummingbirds flying around.
Stuff is incredibly attentive and helpful. And food in the restaurant is a delight.
I am also very happy that we chose to stay the night here before going to Machu Piccu. We felt recovered and could fully enjoy an absolute masterpiece that Machu Piccu is❤️
Thank you so much guys for your care and service. Truly amazing experience and worth every penny
- X3635NYlornab (10/5): Excellent - Excellent service. Food was outstanding. All staff including George & Eric were very attentive. Beautiful setting. Went on the in-house tea tour as they grow and make tea here in the grounds. It was fabulous and very educational. Highly recommend this hotel.

- Z4767FQnicof (10/5): Great stay - The staff are incredibly nice. Including Fernando from the restaurant. He went above and beyond. Extremely friendly and lovely. He made our stay stand out. We did not plan to stay here but because of train problems we were forced to. I’m very glad we did.
- Rafael (10/5): The best experience of my stay in Cusco. - Perfect! It was well located. Food was delicious and staff showed good manners and very professional with their skills. I liked everything of my stay at Inkaterra!
- Nina_Surrey (6/5): A disappointment - After staying at the Inkaterra Hacienda Conception in the jungle and the Inkaterra Urubamba in the Sacred Valley, which were both excellent, we had high hopes for this hotel.
The hotel grounds are attractive and we were given a room upgrade (room 28). The room was spacious and characterful with its open fire and wooden beams. However the bathroom was in need of updating.
We had dinner at the hotel and the food and service were okay, but nothing special. Our major disappointment came at breakfast time. The restaurant was packed with clients (understandable as everyone is wanting an early start to get to the bus stop). But the staff were overwhelmed and totally unable to cope with the demand. My husband and I ordered omelettes. We waited for 30 minutes before another waiter came up with a menu to take our order, thinking we hadn't been served. Eventually we received one of the two omelettes we'd ordered and when we enquired about the second one, the waiter was rude to my husband and insisted only one was ordered. The dining experiences at the other two Inkaterra hotels we stayed at was in a completely different league to this hotel. The breakfast buffet here was without any juice when we arrived and lots of the food items hadn't been replenished by the dining room staff. I would give the breakfast experience a one star review unfortunately!!!
- Amit (10/5): Beautiful stay with great staff and atmosphere. Loved every minute of it! - Breakfast was great! Good variety! Hot springs weren't hot for a bit when we got back and took a while to heat up.
- Maria Cristina (9/5): - La comida,no es buena.

- ALKDVS (8/5): Nice hotel in Machu Picchu - Beautiful hotel and grounds that is well-located to Machu Picchu pueblo and the buses to the main site. Dinner in the hotel was fine, though there may be better options outside of the hotel. There are a lot of experiences that the hotel runs, but we were not there long enough to enjoy them.
- Flavio (10/5): Absolutely fantastic stay. - Staff was super friendly, the room was very comfortable and loved the hot pools.
- PujaBa (10/5): Exceptional Hospitality in a Stunning Natural Setting - We had a truly wonderful stay at Inkaterra Pueblo.
The property is absolutely beautiful, with a strong eco friendly feel throughout. We loved the lush greenery, the calming sound of water flowing alongside the stairways, and the overall connection to nature. Morning birdwatching and walking the nature trails were definite highlights and made the experience feel immersive and peaceful.
One of our favorite moments was lunch at the café across the railway track. The setting by the Urubamba River was stunning, and the vegetarian salad and quinoa risotto were excellent. Enjoying such a lovely meal with river views made the experience even more special.
The service was outstanding from start to finish. Every team member went above and beyond, and we truly appreciated the flexibility with an earlier check in and a slightly later check out. Being able to use the spa bathroom to shower even after checking out was incredibly convenient and much appreciated.
Overall, we loved the vibe, the setting, and the hospitality. Inkaterra Pueblo offers a beautiful, serene experience, and we would happily stay here again.

- carolyn (7/5): Lovely people and beautiful location but not fully operational over new years. - Location. Many amenities were not operational. We were there over the holidays and Sauna was closed. Main hot pool was empty. Pool bar was closed.
Spa only had a singular shower/bathroom to service many guests who were spending the day while waiting for their departure train. Staff was super caring and sweet but there was a lot of miscommunication.
- Joanna (10/5): - La comida !!!!
- Dhiraj (10/5): -
- Yael (7/5): Beautiful exterior & grounds, great included dining, unsatisfactory room interior - Amazing garden and overall exterior arrangement. Perfect after a hike. Hot pools are very relaxing. Restaurant is FABULOUS - the included dinner and breakfast are very generous and delicious. The rooms interior is much too basic to be considered 5 stars. They are decorated very beautifully but a bit old and unclean. Shower is basic with minimal stream (very painful when you’re trying to wash dirt from a five day hike).
- Dana (10/5): It was amazing - loved everything about the hotel it's a little oasis. staff is great and so welcoming. food and service in the restaurant was great too. rooms were so nicely set up and very comfortable nothing we loved the hotel. I wish I stayed longer
- Alexandre (6/5): Not a 5 star - Maybe 3 - Beautiful jungle inside, very convenient location, great staff Basic accommodations, old and very rustic style. Food is not good either. Does not feel like a 5 star hotel, more like a 3 star.
- L2423OLtimothyj (4/5): Do not consider any special treatment as Hyatt Globalist - As a Hyatt Globalist the partnership should result in upgrades which in my case did not happen. After check-in and reviewing the provided room, we asked about upgrade options. They claimed we had already been upgraded to the next category. They then gave us another option in the original booked category which was larger, better situated (more privacy) and generally made a better impression. As there were many other rooms and higher categories bookable for our 1 night stay I don’t accept the “upon availability” clause and arguments. I would have even thrown more money at this accommodation, however the front desk agents did not even consider offering this as a solution. We are not talking about a budget hotel, this property claims to be a 5 star location. With nightly rates around $600 and more you would expect a different treatment.
- Sandra (10/5): -
- Einon_E_Mouse (10/5): Peaceful oasis in Aguas Calientes. - Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is the perfect Andean escape—an oasis of calm just five minutes from the lively town of Aguas Calientes. The town itself doesn’t offer much beyond shops and restaurants (the real star is, of course, Machu Picchu), but the hotel feels like its own magical world tucked into lush cloud forest and backed by dramatic mountain views.
We stayed three nights so we could experience two different tours of Machu Picchu, both absolutely fantastic. In hindsight, we would have transferred back to the Sacred Valley on the third night—but staying at Inkaterra certainly made the decision a close call!
Accommodation is in individual casitas scattered through the forest. Ours was spacious, rustic in the best possible way, and came with a great bathroom. Thoughtful touches like hot water bottles and evening treats made it feel wonderfully cozy after long days of exploring.
Breakfast and dinner are included, and both were excellent. Dinner is à la carte with plenty of delicious options, and the complimentary afternoon tea was a fantastic pick-me-up after hiking around Machu Picchu all morning. The setting—surrounded by greenery and birdsong—made every meal feel special.
One of the highlights of the property is its nature trails. We joined the tea and orchid tour with one of the hotel’s interesting & informed guides, which was superb. With over 370 native orchid species and three tranquil ponds surrounded by loungers and seating, the grounds truly feel like a botanical sanctuary. It’s the perfect place to unwind far from the bustle of Aguas Calientes.
The Inkaterra experience begins the moment you step off the train: friendly staff greet you, handle your luggage, and walk you to the hotel. And it ends with the same level of care as they escort you back, help with check-in, and send you off with warm smiles. Every staff member we met was helpful, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming.
A wonderful experience from start to finish.
Well done—and thank you—Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel!
- 132sirishag (2/5): Very poor management and customer experience - Great property and location, but very poor management experience
The hotel looks beautiful and is in a great location, but unfortunately my experience was far from pleasant.
First, the room linens were not clean, which was disappointing for a property of this level.
Second, the management created a very stressful situation for my family. A day before check-in, the hotel contacted me on WhatsApp and proactively offered to add an extra bed for my kids at no additional charge. Because of train delays, we could only check in around 9:45 PM. The staff member who checked us in confirmed again that the extra bed was added free of cost. However, within five minutes another staff member came and insisted they had to charge for the extra bed and added another $170 to my bill. This was completely opposite to what was communicated earlier and felt very unprofessional.
The hotel also advertises free dinner, but because the kitchen was about to close when we arrived, they told us they would compensate by including lunch for the next day. But the next day during lunchtime, they suddenly refused and said it was not possible. Because of limited time before my train and having young kids with me, I had no time to find another restaurant, and we had to leave back to Cusco with my kids hungry.
Overall, despite the nice property, the lack of clear communication, sudden extra charges, and broken promises made the stay very stressful. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their guest experience.
- RoverP (8/5): Unusual but good quality hotel. - An unusual hotel. Rooms are in small chalets located within the jungle grounds. Charming, yes, but lighting and signage could be better and it is a real pain when it rains. Bar staff were a bit brusque and an unexpected charge for environmental protection was added onto the bill at the end. Most guests would be delighted that the hotel donates money to this excellent cause but it should be included explicitly in the charges quoted. Other than that, it was a lovely hotel and offered a very high quality standard of dining.
- S4790UPds (8/5): Good hotel near Machu Pichu - We stayed for one night and had a lovely stay. The room was large and clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure.
The rooms are separate from the lobby and require walking through the gardens with your suitcases. The gardens are nice, with many flowers and birds even in fall, but the walk may be difficult if you have mobility issues, especially when it rains.
The restaurant was good overall, though the menu translation in English wasn't accurate for the dinner dish my dad ordered, and service was very slow at dinner.
The hotel offers guided tours of the gardens included in the rate. We took the general tour and the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It is an easy walk to the bus stop to go to/from Machu Pichu, as well as the train station.
- JessicaR234 (10/5): Peaceful oasis in Aguas Calientes - A wonderful peaceful oasis in this busy town at the bottom of buses to Machu Picchu. If you want peace this is it; excellent food and incredible grounds.
- cherri_d (10/5): If you want to treat yourself a bit... - We found the grounds of this hotel the main drawcard. They have set up a couple of birdfeeders and hummingbird feeders in a central courtyard area that offers a pleasant way to spend time. They offer some activities to guests as well, like bird walks and nature walks. They have quite a few trails through their grounds that offer plenty of options for exploring. You can even see where they make their own tea on the premises. The tea is offered at the spectacular buffet breakfast. Dinner was okay for vegetarians but nothing special. As others have observed, there are quite a few stairs that you need to navigate, but if you are comfortable with that and find the idea of exploring the grounds appealing then you will probably enjoy this place.
- roccop772 (6/5): Pretty garden setting in Machu Picchu Town - The town of Machu Picchu is very noisy & busy. The hotel is spread out and rooms are in small buildings amid the gardens. Lots of water features & lots of stone steps. Our room was large and the bathroom nice - we had no problem with the hot water. Staff were all very attentive (although they did watch us struggle with luggage & not help)
The breakfast & dinner choices was very good - no complaints there
But our room & bedding had an overpowering smell of damp. I did not find it he hotel comfortable when it rained & would not stay here again.
- Ivan (10/5): Maravilloso - Todo Nada
- thompson-cs (6/5): Avoid room 66 - When shown to our room our group was told we were very lucky that we were all given an upgrade! A bit of a shock when we got in ours, it certainly wasn’t!
Not a chair to sit on in the room, others had comfortable chairs even a mini bar and chaise lounge. The noise from the train was very loud!! But we were literally next to the track. Avoid room 66!!! The plus side the food was excellent.
- Albrecht (9/5): - schöne + geräumige Bungalows; freundliches Personal; gutes Frühstück;
- Aleksander (10/5): One and only 5 star hotel in location. - Very good location when arriving by train, hotel located just across bridge. Breakfast was fabulous with various omelettes/eggs and deserts. Beds was more wide than long and welcomed us with warm heater what made beds extra cosy. Jungle view and feeling straight from room door was quarantined Birds, butterflies and beautiful flowers made stay even more cozy. We got our jungle feeling.
- Heartspunk (8/5): Good respite from the crowds - Probably the best hotel in Aguas Caliente if you're visiting Machu Picchu.
The rooms are very spacious with a comfy bed.
We only spent one night here so didn't get to experience any of the scheduled activities in the hotel, including walks, bird watching etc.
The bathroom was very dimly lit and the whole room was tiled with no bedroom slippers provided.
Breakfast was a good buffet.
Dinner was nice but not excellent.
- richardsN1433MF (6/5): Difficult Stairways due to the lack of railings - The hotel is very nice rooms are well appointed, and the topical environment is very appealing. One thing that the hotel should consider is the pathways with the rocks imbedded in concrete are visually appealing and durable, they are a challenge for people with mobility issues. This is especially true for the stairs on the outside walkways as none of them have railings. I suggest that the hotel install railings on their exterior walkways with stairs.
- MrandMrsICHBI (10/5): Excellent location, great hotel - Stayed at this hotel while visiting Machu Picchu for two days. The hotel is set in extensive grounds, yet a very short distance from the main area of Aguas Caliente. The staff are friendly & helpful and and the hotel has a warm atmosphere. The restaurant offers a menu with a good selection of dishes. Slightly odd was you paid as you went along rather than at checkout. Our room was large & comfortable with all the amenities you would expect from a good hotel. Overall a great place to stay.
- Hao (10/5): - On the morning of October 1st we were caught in a heavy downpour at Machu Picchu and ended up completely soaked. Even though we had already checked out, we went back to the Inkaterra front desk in the afternoon to ask for help. The two ladies and one gentleman who received us were absolutely wonderful — warm, attentive, and very efficient. They quickly arranged access to the spa so we could take a hot shower, and the front desk kindly helped dry our coats and shoes.
Thanks to their thoughtful assistance, we didn’t catch a cold after being drenched, and our trip continued smoothly. We are deeply grateful for their kindness and efficiency, and would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all three of them. Truly outstanding service that made a real difference in our journey!
- jeanniceh (10/5): Must stay in Machu Picchu - My husband and I stayed 1 night after hiking the Salkantay Trial, and before visiting Machu Picchu. Absolutely beautiful resort - great resultants, gift shop, large room and bathroom with towel warmer. I wish we had another night there! We didn’t have time to visit the spa or pool area, but it looked lovely. Outside of the room - the property itself is lovely and lush. Very tranquil. Also, very walkable to shops, other restaurants, coffee shops and the tourist market.
- Lisa (10/5): - The room was incredible. The whole hotel was absolutely over the top!
- Diana (10/5): - The room was clean, large and beautiful.
- X3579BMrosariop (8/5): Good for short stay - One night stay after Inka trail. Check-in smooth, hotel complex very
dark, so a little confusing going from your room to the restaurant or other locations on property; breakfast buffet okay; at dinner need to specify hotel filtered water or will charge for bottles of still water; no a/c, just dehumidifier in room.
- kapmap (6/5): Not really a 5* hotel -- Save your money - Disappointing for a 5* hotel. I came expecting an amazing experience. When we walked into the room it was very hot. When we asked about air conditioning we were told there isn't any. We asked for and received a fan. Then we realized that they had the heat on high. When we turned that off it became better but the staff should have told us and explained things.
There is a sisal rug under the bed which is not comfortable to walk on. The floor is a stone floor that is fairly rough and also uncomfortable to walk on.
No instructions were given for the shower and it took time to figure out the knobs which do not work as expected. In a 5* hotel things should be explained when you are brought to the room. There was zero explanation.
The water in the sink is not potable so you have to use bottled water to brush your teeth. The toilet paper cannot be flushed and must be placed in a garbage can.
These are things I did not expect at a 5* hotel.
It is also a walk from town uphill a bit. After a day climbing around Macchu Picchu I didn't enjoy walking to the hotel. The location is not their fault but I would want to know about the walk
It has a beautiful location surrounded by lots of greenery. But that would not be enough for me to recommend this place or stay here.
- Abdiel (10/5): - Great Staff!!!
- unexplorer (8/5): Bird watchers’ Paradise - Run don’t walk if you are Bird watcher as this hotel is a bird watching paradise. We were upgraded to a suite which was large and comfortable. The hotel is next to the station so you can hear the trains passing but the grounds are lush and you will feel as if you are in nature. The bird watching guides are knowledgeable and passionate which scored extra points for my bird watcher husband. The service is the reason I took a star off. The rooms can be far and difficult to navigate if you don’t have help. So make sure you call front office in time as you have to wait for the service .
- Lucia (10/5): - Clean
- LeonL306 (10/5): Great Staff - The staff was very kind and when there were mistakes made, they resolved them quickly and efficiently. The restaurant was delicious and heard from other travelers the ‘hot spring’ and spa were very nice. I understand some of the design feedback, but I also think that it is a clean and one of the better options in the area.
- Bridget (7/5): Nice hotel but would expect more for the cost - It is a very quaint property in its own oasis on the outskirts of Aqua Calientes. The shampoo and conditioner were not recharged when we had used them up and had not been touched by the cleaners. The bedroom floors were uneven Stine and uncomfortable to walk on. When meeting us at the train with our luggage they were late.

- Mikalako (10/5): Excellent Hotel - In Town, but Feels Secluded and Private - I really can't say enough about this hotel. First of all, the location is perfect. It's a very easy 5 minute walk from the train station. If you need to walk to your hotel and are carting around your luggage, it will not be a problem at all. However, Inkaterra always has someone at the station for all arrivals and departures to take or transport your luggage. So you're golden either way. Then... the property. OMG... so lush with amazing plants, walkways, lighting, all the rooms are tucked away among the amazing vegetation. You feel like you're secluded in the Amazon! The rooms are decorated in old world spanish colonial style (which is absolutely beautiful), but still has all the modern ammenities you'd want in your room. Great climate control, comfy bed, Direct TV channels, modern bathroom and shower, good lighting. The perfect balance of being modern and also historical. And sooooo quiet... The restaurant breakfast was really good. Not the absolute best I've ever had, but our hotel breakfast standard is quite high and I will say overall, we were both happy with the breakfast they offered. We had dinner there on our one night, and were very impressed. The food was local and true to the area, but elevated and very good! There are soooo many places to eat in town too, but if you want to stay close and make it easy for yourself by dining at the hotel, you should be happy. Overall, one of my favorite hotel stays of our entire trip. The service was excellent. Highly highly recommend.

- carlos eduardo (10/5): Visita a machu picchu - Muy linda sus instalaciones
- ALENA (10/5): - Location was great! 5 minutes walk to the train station
- James (10/5): - Beautiful hotel located just outside town! Included dinner in particular was amazing!!
- Kerem (10/5): -
- billdU5309NO (2/5): Not worth the money - The place is very dated. The bathrooms are gross. The showers look like public showers. The walls are paper you can her people talking outside your room. The food is poor. The staff is nice but not well trained. I would never stay there again unless I had no choice.
- pham10017 (10/5): Inkaterra Machu Pichu - exceeds my expectations - Inkaterra Machu Pichu is the BEST!!! I rarely give positive reviews but this place deserved all my praises. The hotel crew and services were fantastic. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Shout out especially for their Operations team, especially Dianna. She helped us when we were in a bind, getting us to Ollaytantambo. I have never seen such efficient service. The food was Delicious!!!
- Janice Guzen (10/5): Experiência excelente - Instalações, limpeza, beleza natural
- IreneKimMD (10/5): Solid hotel in Machu Picchu - We stayed here for one night on our two day excursion to Machu Picchu. The hotel was extremely clean and well run. The restaurant was fantastic and overall a solid experience.
- harveymattel (10/5): A Great Relaxing Place to Stay When Visiting Macchu Piccu - Beautiful hotel with extensive lush grounds. Great place to stay if you are visiting Macchu Piccu or just want a relaxing stay in a charming Andean town. Wonderful food onsite. Charming rooms with working fireplaces. Excellent service. I wish our stay would have been longer. You won’t be disappointed.
- Richard (10/5): - Nothing not like. Should have stayed longer
- Lee (10/5): - Great place to stay. Was too bad we were only there one night. Two or more would have been better.
Only one thing I would want others to know, the hot springs they have are not “hot”. I’m used to hot tubs so hearing hot springs was a bonus, but wasn’t hot.
Other than that, would certainly recommend.
- T (8/5): Very good -
