Guest Reviews
- Schatz (8/5): -
- Young (5/5): - there was no soap or shampoo in the dispensers
- KAREN (1/5): - I booked two nights, traveled six hours to get there. Apon arrival I was told they didn’t have a room on the first floor which I received an email confirming it. I and my sister are handicapped and can’t climb stairs, we use a walker to walk. I was told I would have to find another hotel. I’m 77 y/o in a strange town and had to look for a different hotel which ending up costing me $290. I will never use Red Roof again.
- Raven (8/5): Comfort and critters. - Location was good for in to bed and gettin’ to sleepin’. Also I got to take my Dog and they were very sweet to her. We all slept very well, and even got a nice shower. Could not find remote, I also did not like the one single roach. We killed it.
- Jack (8/5): -
- Robert (3/5): Ok for a overnight stay cheep price - Heater very loud
Tub filled with water during shower and would not drain
Bathroom dirty
Very loud no carpet to absorb noise from 2nd floor guest.
No coffee cups
- Brandi (1/5): I wasn't going to write a bad review however I'm very upset that I still have yet to get a refund from my stay. - Location price Cockroaches. I was four life bugs, one inside of the microwave one inside my grandson's bed.
- Jeremy (1/5): Bad staff had bugs in our room and our door didn’t lock - Location Everything
- Sarah (1/5): We used to come to the Red Roof Inn a lot before 2020. It was nice and clean. Since covid the place has changed. Idk if - Staff was nice Roaches were all over the walls and head board of the bed. Bathroom ceiling was leaking in 4 different spots.
- Eric (6/5): - The building has obviously not received careful maintenance and upgrades
- Steven (2/5): - Room smelled like cat pee. No more hotels.com rooms were available and we prepaid so we settled for a can of air freshener from the office. On the way to get the spray I passed at least six feral cats eating cat food and garbage off the ground. I suspect they find a way into the rooms when the doors are propped open by the cleaners.
Toilet was filthy. Not sure if it was s@#t stains or rust. Dirty shower had black mold and the towels were worn our rags. The tattered couch was stained, dirty and stinky.
The desk clerk had no key jackets - when we checked in she scribbled our room number on a scrap of paper with the name and personal information of a previous guest on the back.
I’m old enough that would not call this the worst place ever but it would easily make the Top Ten Bad list for the past decade.
- Scott (4/5): - Smelly, dirty, buggy, felt unclean all around. Staff was nice but havent stayed in anything this bad in awhile
- Leonel (10/5): - 👌
- Skyler (2/5): - Has roaches
- Kathryn (4/5): Not the greatest - We stayed here a few years ago it was great. No so much anymore. Blankets were stained and dirty. No rags to take a shower and room smelled really bad. Most of all no hot water and mold in the bathroom. Will be coming back again.

- Bobbi (10/5): - Great for what we needed it for. To crash and get right back up and be at the ball field.
- Daniel (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Toilet dirty. Bathroom sink light not working. Two lamps in room not working. Microwave did not work.
- John (1/5): Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in - Looked like a bombed out building in Gaza. I honestly thought it was abandoned Looked like a renovation started and forgotten
- Valerie (2/5): - The beds was dirty when we arrived the people around you was always gossiping staff guest etc was judging, I asked for clean sheets and I supplied the rest cleaning supplies myself. Our lights stopped working including ac and was told to deal with it or check out our second night there. After already being took for wrong date booking
- Thelma (7/5): Over all quite - Size of the room the refrigerator was a nice size The smell of the room and the door safety latch was broken
- Sara (8/5): - The rooms are very spacious. There was even a full size refrigerator and microwave. Floor was dirty and cobwebs around the sink light fixture. Overall the place was great and you can't beat the price. I would recommend to stay here.
- Rachel (8/5): Very good - The staff were good The wall had a hole in dry wall
- Belinda (6/5): Pleasant - Room was very nice. Bathroom could use a little fixing up. People upstairs were very loud all night long. Outside of the rooms was a smell like cat pee.
- Paul (2/5): - terrible

- Nancy (2/5): - Only good thing about it was the bed was decent. We went to a different hotel for the second night and didn't get refunded for it. Really bad experience!
- Talley (1/5): SHITTY AND VERY DIDAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED - Staff are ok until you complain because of their RUDENESS, DRUG USE ON THE JOB, TAKING ANY GUESTS TO OTHER GUESTS, CAN NEVER SEEM TO BE AND TO GET THIS TO CLEAN MY ROOM EVERYTHING.
STAFF WERE VERY RIDE BECAUSE IV TURNED INTO CORPORATE AND AN AC UNIT C THAT STOPPED WORKING, THEY EVENTUALLY CHANGED IT OUT BUT HAVE YA A UNIT THAT DID NOT EVEN BLOW OUT COLD AIR. IT'S WAS ALWAYS AT LEAST 10-20 DEGREES HOTTER THEN IT WAS OUTSIDE. HAD TO KEEP OUR DOOR OPEN AND BEHIND IN THE AIR FROM OUTSIDE. BROTHER TO THEIR ATTENTION TWICE AND WAS TOLD ITS BLOWING COOL AIR U JUST HAVE TO KEEP THE DOOR SHUT AND NOT GO IN AND OUT A BUNCH (WE I'VE GO OUTSIDE EVERY CPL HOURS TO TAKE THE DOG OUT AND THAT'S IT). 2ND TIME WAS TOLD I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU WE ARE WAITING ON AC UNITS. THEN I WAS TOLD THEY WE'RE HAPPY TO HAVE ME AS KONG AS I NEEDED. AFTER ALMOST 2 MONTHS I'M TOLD THEY CAN NOT HAVE LONG TERM GUESTS BECAUSE THE MEXICAN'S ARE COMING IN AND THEY ARE BOOKING FOR 2-3 MONTHS. THAT IS LONG TERM!!; SO I SUPPOSE MY MONEY IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I WAS NEVER AN ISSUE AND ONLY CONTACTED THEM WHEN NEEDED SOMETHING, SUCH AS CLEAN TOWELS, CLEAN SHEETS, STUFF TO CLEAN MY ROOM THAT WAS NEVER CLEANED AND ONKY HAD SOMEONE OFFER CLEANING ONCE N ALMOST 2 MONTHS. ONLY COMPLAINT WAS ABOUT THE AC UNIT, WHEN I COULD HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT MUCH MORE!!!
2 DAYS V AFTER CONTACTING CORPORATE ABOUT NOTHING DONE WITH AC AND IT NOT BEING FAIR HAVING TO LEAVE BEING TOLD NO LONG TERM YET LETTING ANOTHER ETHNICITY COME IN LONG TERM WAS NOT FAIR THEY SHOW UP AT MY ROOM 2 DAYS BEFORE MY STAY IS UP 1 HOUR BEFORE CHECKOUTS AND TELL ME I MUST LEAVE!!!!!
- Lisa (6/5): - The property was very dated. I would only recommend construction workers stay there.
- Ashley (2/5): - I was booking every two days due to waiting on my home and 22 hours after booking they came knocking on my door at 11am informing me that i had to get out after paying for the room saying the room was already booked also not giving me ny deposit and having me trespassed all due yo them wanting to steal my money very rude people, bad mouth and unprofessional
- Samson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlisle (6/5): Pleasant -
- Carlisle (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tiffany (5/5): Passable - Bath tub was Clogged. Towels was dirty, had stains on both beds. Floors was dirty.
- Guy (6/5): - Zzzzz
- Phillips (1/5): Bad -
- Michael (2/5): So Sad - Clean enough cut rate.
No hot water, i ask to be compensated, but was flatly refused.
- Ashley (4/5): Disappointing -
- Janet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (1/5): They better give me my money back. An I had to stay in my. Car freezing all night - Not a thing That the people that check you in. Lied argued with me about the payment. They said it was never made an I showed where it was taken out of my bank account. A the confirmation from this site. But they didn’t cancel it an got the money. For it
- Kenneth (4/5): - Cheap hotel, convenient hotel but I can’t stand hotels that aren’t clean. I had hair on my pillows as soon as I walked in, stains on furniture, and you could see the floor was barely swept and counters were not wiped.
- Linda (8/5): - Nice guy at the desk. We chatted several minutes about the local restaurants. Walmart and lots of restaurants within 1-3 miles. Hotel isnt fancy. But, very clean and comfortable.
- Rachael (6/5): - It needs alot of updates.
- Amanda (4/5): Needs a good clean and an update - The room needed a good clean and smelled like cigarette smoke. The shower barely worked and the exhaust fan was really loud.
- shiloh (6/5): - The staff was very polite and helpful. The room was swept unclean, but you can tell someone put a little effort into trying to make it look neat overall it was a decent place in a time of need to sleep for the night, but I would not stay here long-term
- Dagoberto (6/5): - The room was very spacious. Had a large refrigerator and a microwave. The coffee maker was small and only used provided coffee bags like tea bags. No breakfast is offered. The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were non existent. We weren't able to sleep due to the level of pain caused from the terrible bed.
- Matthew (10/5): - Good
- Patterson (8/5): Very good -
- STEPHEN (10/5): - Staff was very helpful with recommendations for local restaurants and sights
- Marinlk (8/5): Very good -
- Keith (8/5): - A noisy location most of the night
- dinho (2/5): - Very dirty blanket horrible service alot of flies in rooms
- Rachelle (8/5): - Excellent for yhe price. You can tell they are in process of updating the room's. Black water when we turned on the shower but decent otherwise
- Frank (10/5): - Good
- Khari (1/5): Would not recommend - The only good thing about this property was the front desk agent. He was attentive, caring and helpful. The area wasn’t well lit, the bathroom was filthy, the ceiling tiles look like they were messed with, the floor was sticky and there was a weird smell. Wasn’t there a full hour before I asked for a refund.
- Megan (1/5): Bad -
- megan (2/5): - We sit outside for 4 hours because only our room didn't have power and all they said was they were sorry that's not right at all
- Penny (10/5): - It is quiet and the people are nice
- Kirsten (6/5): 1 - Friendly staff
- Timothy (6/5): - Was impressed by the room and able to watch an afternoon and evening of College Football after a 4th consecutive day of motorcycle riding. It was not until LATE once West Coast games concluded that I found my room had no faucet making a shower not possible. Also LATE there was a dog barking for an extendedamount of time It would be nice if listings would note if the location was also residential with what appeared to be residents.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Wouldn’t recommend - The air conditioning didn’t work very well. The volume on the tv would not go up. I saw multiple cockroaches and overall a very dirty room.
- Penny (10/5): - The staff is friendly I liked everything
- Andrea (9/5): Superb -
- Allan (6/5): - It was semi clean the ceiling had alot of imperfections the shower was cold the heater didnt work but overall for the price i paid it wasnt bad
- Soltermann (7/5): Good - Bathrooms and air conditioner needs updated Bathroom and air conditioner
- Matthew (10/5): - Everything was great
- Braeden (2/5): - The most disgusting repulsive place of business I’ve ever had the misfortune of being a part of. Mold all over the ceilings, dirty, stained sheets on beds, no hot water, and cockroaches crawling on the floor. We left to go stay somewhere else because and reported them to the department of health because there’s no way it’s safe to sleep there. The staff doesn’t care about anything going on and the short haired lady was extremely rude. F rating and this business should be shut down immediately.
- Megan (10/5): - Staff is very friendly
- Cesikkenga (6/5): Pleasant -
- Frank (10/5): - Good job
- Kandy1993 (10/5): Exceptional Luxury and Impeccable Service - I had an exceptional experience at this hotel! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and outstanding service. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was stocked with high-quality toiletries. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, making it a truly luxurious experience. I highly recommend this hotel!
- Frank (10/5): - Nice place
- Frank (10/5): - Nice place to stay
- Anyhony (7/5): Good -
- CHRISTINA (2/5): - The room was disgusting full of flies nets and other bugs. The floor was filthy I wish I could leave pics on here. The door frame was broken it had been broken in to. The microwave was really old and rusted out. DO NOT GO THERE. I want my money back!
- Summitt (7/5): Good -
- aronf767 (10/5): Impeccable Hotel Experience - My stay at this hotel was absolutely perfect! From the warm welcome at check-in to the impeccable service throughout, every detail exceeded my expectations. The room was luxurious, the amenities were outstanding, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. A truly memorable experience!
- Barb (9/5): Great - Great for dogs too. And they had good info for solar eclipse activities in the area
- Todd (2/5): Very poor - It was right in the eclipse totality path. The price of over $700 was ridiculous thievery. Taking advantage of the eclipse event, of course.
The hotel is a dump!
There was no hot water. When I spoke to staff, they said wait as many folks were taking showers. I waited hours and kept trying. It was silly what hotel isn't set up for multiple guests to have showers simultaneously?
The place was in dire need of proper maintenance and painting. The bathroom door was falling apart. The curtain was falling off the hooks and not functional.
The floors were covered in something sticky as my shoes or feet stuck on each step.
The place is mostly used for migrant workers to stay during watermelon harvests and such. It's beat to heck! It's grimey!
My first experience at a Red Roof Inn and will be my last.
Worst hotel and most money I've ever paid on a single night in a hotel.
The town is cool with an interesting history and things to see like the monuments.
I hiked across the Lincoln Memorial bridge into Illinois.
- Dennis (4/5): Roaches - There were German roaches
- Carolyn (1/5): Look somewhere else, DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY BUGS and MOLD - the beds were comfortable and the location was decent. the price was okay but should have been cheaper First off I wanna say that the website, sign in the room and sign at front desk says they serve breakfast THEY DO NOT, I asked that they not put me next to a room that has permanent extended stay residents, but they did. They had two very large pit bulls in the room but seemed sweet. but i was traveling with my two 2 pound chihuahuas so it was intimidating at first because the dogs came flooding out pulling their owners on the leashes right at us. Now as for the room, It had cockroaches and dead ones visibly seen in the fridge. No fire alarms in the room, the hook ups were there.. they were just missing completely. The lamp plug ins didn't work as they were melted. The sheets in one of the beds hadn't been changed because there was bread or chip crumbs literally through out it. The bathroom had pubes all over the toilet and in the bathtub. and the floor was extra slippery not even wet. honestly, the only thing this place has going is the bed was not uncomfortable and the location was decent.
Next, Our relatives got the HANDICAPT room. The heater in bathroom didn't go off the WHOLE two days they stayed in it. they didn't have a fire alarm either. they had no handicap rails or slip proof in the bathroom or bathtub, So I am unsure what set that room apart from the one we got which was cheaper... especially considering it was a fire hazard IN A HANDICAPT ROOM. Their room was dirty as well, and their toilet wouldn't flush, they asked the front desk for a plunger and they were told that they didn't have one and the toilet may be a slow flush and to wait till morning between each flush. poor customer service, false advertisement and dirty rooms. I'm leaving one start for the bed being comfortable. as far as the price goes, YEAH its not bad but it should be much cheaper, and they should get rid of handicap rooms ALL TOGETHER especially since they aren't to code. maybe I should make a call about that. A few pictures are attached.
- Alice (5/5): Too Expensive for Low Quality - I needed a quiet place to rest and it was. I was safe. It was quiet. I liked that I could see my car outside. The room was rather dirty. The front desk agent did not tell me they have a weird light saver thing which is a box you put a key into or else there's no electricity. Weird
The microwave was filthy with a turntable that didn't work. There was mold around the tub. The sofa in the room was quite dirty. The bed wàs very old and worn.
I found the town to be rather strange too.
- Miller (2/5): Not good - Size of room Multiple cockroaches dead and alive.
- Drizzt (10/5): - The property was amazing, of course there was a few hiccups but the staff was amazing and honestly the room was really nice and spacious. I honsstly think the other comments that were negative were wrong. Its affordable and very clean! Thanks Redroof Inn for the hospitality!
- David (8/5): Very good - There is supposed to be free breakfast but there’s not
- Lucinda (4/5): - There was no heat available in my room.
They post continental breakfast available, and the hours that I was informed they stopped doing it two years ago but the sign remains up right next to my room.
- Mary (2/5): - Worst property I have ever stayed at. Stains on the covers and sheets. Bathroom door all chewed up. First room offered had such a bad Oder in it that we couldn’t stand it.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Owner is working hard to improve interior decor. The owner is knowledgeable about the area and gave several dinner and breakfast recommendations.
- Douglas (3/5): Frankly, awful. The place is clean but old, I would have been happier sleeping at Goodwill. - Never had the option. Manager female, youngish, long brown hair, was rude. She said we broke the shower drain. It was hanging from side of tub when we arrived. We were given the option of paying $250 or leaving. We paid the money. When I went to pay for another week she informed me that after that week we would have to leave because the hotel had been completely booked for that time period. My husband died 3 days before the end of the week and I was given no consideration. I was told to leave. We had never been loud nor rude. We always paid on time. We are/were elderly and disabled. We never complained about all the residents dogs and cats. The hotel is used to house a lot of homeless and displaced people who are supported by local charities and who are given homes and jobs. The parking lot has many cars which never are used and remain parked. The trash cans are always full. Feral cats roam everywhere. We were there for one month and the pool was closed for repairs 3 times. There is little lawn care with lots of weeds and cigarette butts in the river rock borders
Residents are growing squash and other veggies in the dirt around the swimming pool. Kids were in the pool without supervision. The lady in a neighboring room had 5 small dogs that barked incessantly. Several trans people live there and work there and they were the best part of my experience.they were so sweet and the only folks that offered any sympathy when my husband passed away.
- Patrick (8/5): Very good - Pet's stay free! We stayed at a place recently where they charged us $50 per day! That was ridiculous. We have a small dog and that was definitely why we picked this location. Room was nice and spacious.
- Peter (4/5): - The room could have been significantly cleaner and could have had at least one Kleenex box on the sink countertop. The towels were washed several too many times, I.e. thread bare and worn out. Upon arrival we saw one person giving a haircut to a young child on the walk way to the front office. Would definitely not recommend that particular Red Roof Inn. To boot the hot water heater broke Saturday evening. Did get it fixed by Sunday morning, thank God.
- Jessica (10/5): - It was nice and big
- Bryan (8/5): - Good value, clean spacious room. Would stay again.
