- Hannah (10/5): One night stay. Clean, nice room and bathroom. Sweet owners & dog! - It was in a cute, quiet little town. The malt shop just across the street was delicious for dinner! The views were absolutely amazing! I spoke with the female owner, and she was the sweetest gal ever!! & bonus for the on property dog! He was super sweet and well mannered! Everything was great! Nothing to dislike.

- David (10/5): -
- Shona (10/5): Definitely worth the trip and it will make you fall in love with Colorado - Love the small town, people are really friendly. It’s a small town but still close to lots of fun The staff are so sweet and friendly and they provide a whole binder with information on things to do as well as local restaurants
- Alison (10/5): Excellent comfortable place to stay with charm and affordability. - The rooms were big and clean. I loved having a refrigerator and microwave! The heater was hot and made it easy to dry out wet ski clothes. And the price was very affordable. Location was super easy. We will definitely come back! No complaints. It was all really good!
- Mark (10/5): -
- Judith (9/5): Relaxing. - Cozy. Peaceful and good location. Nothing
- Robert111111159 (10/5): Great hotel in Southern Colorado - I stayed at the Spruce Lodge in Colorado on a ski trip to Wolf Creek Ski Mountain.
Hotel was great, room was great, people were great.
Had a great experience.
Will definitely come back
- Callum (9/5): It was a good hotel with a small but effective space. - Exactly as promised. Very helpful and attentive staff. Lack of table space.
- Ilya (9/5): - Cute and clean place! We really enjoyed, and would stay longer if had more time! Nothing
- NATASHA (10/5): - Great place!
- Bryan (10/5): I stayed at the Spruce Lodge for its proximity to Wolf Creek. Great location. Clean and comfortable room. I would defini - The location was great. Very clean. No complaints.
- Jake (7/5): -
- Judith (7/5): Not the best this year. - Cozy room. A dog barking morning and evening in room 4 the first night. Against the lodging policy.
Third night loud guests in room 4.
Inadequate sound insulation between the rooms. Who designed the place?
It was like spending the evenings with the other guests!
- Colette (9/5): - The room was nice. Thanks for the good quality coffee and snacks. Comfortable bed. The shower was very small and there was no room for my toiletries in the bathroom.
- Jennifer (10/5): Worth the money! - It was a mom and pop place. The staff was friendly and the location was between everything but still low enough in altitude that I got a small break from the altitude high blood pressure I suffered from. Nothing tbh. The place was gorgeous, there were deer that wandered in and out morning or night.
- Peter (7/5): The cabins are the exact opposite of a sterile chain motel - just what we wanted. - Wood panels and an older, guest cabin feel. Nice towels. Matress a little tired.
- Jurado (10/5): -
- Rebecca (9/5): - Authentique, nicely renovated, kind hosts
- Adriano (8/5): -
- John (10/5): We enjoyed it & will be back. Quick visit this time, next time stay longer - Ate down the street, did not know there was a breakfast included Could not find the place to pick up/return the key easily
- tk439 (9/5): - Dobry stosunek jakości do ceny.
- Nancy (10/5): - Clean. Convenient
- Yuyun (10/5): - easy to check in for late in. we left hour little boom box and so easy to get back! love the big room and clean
- Tom (8/5): Short stay, satisfied senior - Arrived late evening, our key was where it was promised
Beds extremely comfortable, small shower but usable
Delighted to coffee maker, coffee and tea, and a huge basket of bars, fruit and nuts, bottled water, etc,That was our dinner since we had spent all day with appts,in Denver then drove to South Fork
I barely saw it in the daylight, but looked well maintained
beautiful area
- Gail (8/5): - Clean, easy parking, comfortable bed and pillows, friendly staff
- Brenda (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Spruce Lodge! It was quaint, quiet at night, very thoughtful with snacks and water and coffee that were complimentary. TV and Wi Fi was great! You absolutely can’t beat the price anywhere!!! We will definitely stay here again!
- Amy (10/5): Wonderful - The most comfortable bed, an immaculate room with the perfect welcome gifts featuring coffees, a Kind breakfast bar, a protein snack pack, and a huge bottle of water. Wonderful owners and the property is gorgeous.
- Patrick (7/5): - Réactivité de la gérante L’endroit est tristounet, pas grand chose à faire. Bien pour une étape rapide
- Carol (8/5): - The hotel was fine. Older, but clean, and the staff were pleasant.
- Barbara (10/5): - It was clean and comfortable, and the owners were very kind.
- Don (8/5): - Mice got into our bed. Mgmt gave us a new room.
- Terry (8/5): - The room was clean, comfortable, and worked great. Price was very good too. The shower was a bit small, but it was fine. I would stay again for sure

- Erin (10/5): - My husband and I stayed at this property for a night while driving across Colorado for vacation. South Fork, Colorado is a great town in the middle of the mountains! We enjoyed our stay at the Spruce Lodge. The room we stayed in looked like it was remodeled, yet it still had an old-school charm :) We could see the mountains from our door and smell the pine when we opened it. While there is no complimentary breakfast here, there are great food options in the area. Local eateries were within driving distance from the Lodge and I would definitely suggest Tiny Timbers for breakfast!! Their breakfast burritos and bacon, cheese, and green Chile croissant are delicious!!!:)
The only thing I would suggest to the hotel is maybe offering guests the ability to turn on/ off the outside porch lights in front of their rooms. My husband and I really wanted to stargaze the night we stayed at the hotel, but we encountered a little light pollution from the porch light that evening.
Overall, this hotel is a treasure that I'm happy we found on our vacation this past week :)
- Rhonda (10/5): A wonderful stay at a historic hotel! We’d stay again! - Beautiful scenery, comfortable room, great sitting area to visit with friends and other travelers! I can’t say there was anything I didn’t like.
- Angela (10/5): Family road trip - Stayed here 1 night, has a cabin like feel, clean, safe area, the room had 1 king bed and 1 queen bed, beds were comfortable, traveling with famlly.
- Katherine (8/5): - I enjoyed a peaceful stay here. Thank you.
- Todd (9/5): -
- christelle (8/5): - Très bien pour une étape.
- Julia H (10/5): Great but I won’t go again. - It was so tidy, and in such a great location. Someone had thought of everything that could be needed in the room. It said it was pet friendly, but when I got there with my hypo allergenic little dog and there were all these threatening notices about what would happen if they found me with her there. So I got ahold of them, and they charged me extra money, which was totally unexpected.
- Charles (7/5): -
- Kathaleen (10/5): - Properly was very clean
- Baker (8/5): Very good - Great location. Comfortable room. Lovely hot showers.
Keys left for fast check-in Unable to find a person to confirm payment.
- Sarthak (8/5): - The staff were very nice and communicated effectively over text messages. Overall the room, mountain view and cleanliness were good but the centralized AC only had heating feature and the shower area was a bit restrictive. They kindly provided a large table fan but it was a bit too warm during the early evenings with all the heat during July.
- Cindy (9/5): Superb - Petits lodges sympa, proche de great sands dunes
- maria (8/5): - great!
- Paul (8/5): - Value was great
- Jason (8/5): - This has nice little cabin like rooms. It was very clean and the staff quickly helped with extra towels, etc.. You do need to be aware that the rooms have heat, but no A/C.
- Rachelle (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): We checked in late and the staff provided us with everything we needed to know with our key. - The only comment I have is that there was no mention of the room having no air conditioning. We live in a hot and humid area, so we are spoiled to sleeping with a/c. Luckily the evening was cool (in late June) and there was a box fan in the closet for us to use. We slept well on a very comfortable mattress. So it worked out fine; it just may have been better to know in advance.
- Tanya (10/5): - Nice room very friendly service desk lady
- Mark (10/5): - This is my second stay at this hotel, and it was as good as the last time. The owner is very friendly and informative. Though the area is in a quiet area to begin with , try and get a room to the back side as the view and quiet is really nice
Mark S.
- Vipul (4/5): Not value for money. - Nothing to like against the price. It was too expensive with the quality of room, bathroom and the location. Bathrroom was too much cramped. The room was cramped as well but manageable.
- Bruce (9/5): Superb -
- MICHAEL (10/5): - Very nice remodeled cabins. Quiet comfortable and very clean. Will stay there again.
- Frederica (8/5): Very good - Location Dark interior lighting, can hear noise of other patrons
- Shanika (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (10/5): - Clean, spacious room, beautiful setting. High quality room for a reasonable price.
- Carl (10/5): Lovely place to stay! - Cute and clean and right off the road! Perfect stay! Nothing!
- Marko (10/5): - Great property!
- Penne (8/5): Very good -
- Josiah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wagner (8/5): Very good - Liked the older history of the building. Staff was very responsive to any requests.
- Ruth (10/5): - Lodge has been nicely updated and while the rooms are small, it is more than adequate. Bathroom has been retrofitted; shower could be small for larger clients. We had no problem and the owners are very helpful!
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zachary (10/5): - Comfortable beds
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - comfy beds, quiet and relaxing room. nothing
- Mark (10/5): - Very nice freshly remodeled rooms. Great price. Helpful staff. Would stay again for sure.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Single room feels like a cabin - Spacious and clean rooms in a re-vamped and updated vintage wooden building. Even though it was simply a single room, it felt like we had a little cabin. It was perfect for two adults and one child who merely needed an inexpensive and comfortable place to sleep between days on the slopes. Ski/Board racks by the door, solid wood furniture, nice bathroom, a fairly large refrigerator and microwave for quick breakfast in the morning, actual good coffee by the coffee maker...
Honestly it was really exceptional considering the price we got it for on short notice. I have no complaints whatsoever.
- Alicia (10/5): Welcoming stay - This was a very clean, quaint, and comfortable room/facility. It was made very “personable and welcoming”, the owners were communicative, and the stay was very pleasant. I highly recommend this lodge and will stay again if in the area.
- Randy (6/5): Pleasant - No Breakfast
- Jason (8/5): Nice place! Great staff :) - Nice place, VERY friendly staff, and clean. I like the updates they have done and will stay again if in the area.
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- John (8/5): - Clean room, comfortable bed.
- Anastasiia (10/5): - Great clean property and rooms.
- Cooksey (7/5): All in all -- comfortable beds, quiet location and great value! - Location is great -- easy to find and access. Did not meet any of the staff, as we arrived at 8 pm and our key was left on the front door in an envelope. Disappointed that we were unable to see the main lodge building, as it is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was locked during our visit.
- Marcus (10/5): - It was quaint and clean. Old school mom and pop place. Everything was tidy. The walls are thin but our neighbors were quiet for NYE. Good value.
- Clayton (10/5): Perfect - Great location close to ski base. Friendly easy check-in, nice hosts. Unit was clean, updated & tidy. Beds were unusually comfortable & I’m a mattress snob; a real delight after skiing for 7 hrs for 4 days. Tons of parking was also a plus There was nothing I didn’t like.
- Alesja (9/5): Great night before skiing. - Great location- close to Wolf Creek park. Fresh and fluffy bath towels. Spacious room, comfy beds with most importantly cotton linens.
- Richard (8/5): Great basecamp for skiing at Wolf Creek - Location, value, cozyness Beds are extremely soft and not good for my old back
- Mailea (10/5): - Love staying here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
- Cory (7/5): Good -
- David (8/5): - No lobby. No clerks available if needed.
- Emory (8/5): - Good and affordable. The heater was loud, but they did have earplugs there!
- Laura (4/5): - Good things were: clean, great management and good communication, nice towels, bad things. Terrible beds and there is no way to block out Bright outside lights. The heater came on and started banging every few hours. Hope this is just the unit #4.
- theodorem670 (4/5): Disappointed - I read good reviews of this place so i booked a night. I did not have the same experience. First the good things. Management was wonderful and communicative, place was clean and the towels were very nice. Here goes the bad news - The beds were terrible. The door has windows in them so theres No way to keep out all the outside lights which were very strong. The heater made banging noise every few hours, needless to say we got no sleep. The bath/shower did not drain well. I hope this was just my room. #4. Because the location is nice and it’s a fair price.
- Allison (10/5): - Our stay was perfect!
- Dylan (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): - Fine
- Rodney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fern (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay and would come again.
