- Ryan (10/5): - From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at ease. On check-in for our 5-night stay, we were upgraded to an apartment, which afforded us some extra space and a small kitchen. The rooms and common areas were clean and thoughtfully designed and a small rooftop patio provides expansive views over the city, but the truth is...Berlin is at your doorstep. You're only steps away from trams and trains that bring the whole city with in reach, and the neighborhood is a buzz with diverse eateries, shops and unique experiences. Take the M1 up to the PraterGarten or down to Hackescher Markt and lose yourself in the courtyards of the höfes. My wife and i are avid travelers, and the Circus Hotel is a place we could return to time and again.
- Doug (10/5): - Clean room and very friendly staff. It felt like a full-service boutique hotel that was nice to call home for a week. They have their own ap which was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants/attractions etc.and the staff helped book tickets and reservations for us.

The room had a smart tv that had no access to the internet and had no English language channels (CNN or BBC). In fact the tv had mostly German shopping channels like QVC times seven. I had friends in the same building who had a tv with YouTube and CNN and BBC but apparently our TV lacked these options. I asked for assistance and the staff discovered that room 107 had a tv without basic options found in other rooms in the hotel. I was offered no formal compensation. The hotels also lacks AC. It has a nice back patio and top level space outdoors but one server tried to shortchange me by nearly 20 euros on the bill which left a bad impression.
- Asaf (6/5): Not suitable for hot days. - Though the Hotels.com page states the rooms are air-conditioned, this is false. There is a poor water cooling system that does not do anything—not recommended during hot weather conditions.
- alex (6/5): - This was our first time visiting in Berlin during a vacation. we chose this hotel as it was recommended by a friend and it seemed central. once we checked in, we found out there is no air conditioning in the rooms. the web site says there is ac but once you get there they say its chilled water pipes in the walls however this never worked. this would not have been problematic if we could leave our windows open but this was impossible since the trams are running right in front and there are several restaurants nearby so very noisy. i had to sleep with the windows closed and earplugs. plus the matress was very soft so sleeping comfortably was a problem. the tv had only 1 working non german channel….we were there 4 days and by the third i was itching to leave. this hotel is better suited for the 20 to 30 yr old crowd that might not mind all the action around the place. Berlin though is a very exciting city and worth a visit!

You can tell a lot of care went into creating the space. The location is amazing, right near the subway and super close to all the main sights. Plus, the neighborhood is packed with great restaurants and cute cafes, so there’s always something nearby to check out. The staff were awesome too, super friendly and helpful the whole time. Honestly, it was just a great experience all around. I’d definitely stay here again!

The hotel is in a very handy location, for the Underground and trams, and I felt safe walking alone nearby even at 11pm at night. It is close to Hackescher Market (a bit like Camden Market) and the Hackescher cinema (which shows films in English or with English subtitles) the area nearly feels a bit like Soho, young and arty(but not so crowded).

- Gilbert (8/5): Happy with our stay! - We were at the Circus Hotel for 3 nights. Unfortunately our room faced a very busy area so it was noisy if we tried to open the windows. The location was within walking distance to many of the major sites. Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly. Having a car was a hassle as we had to obtain a parking pass from the hotel for a parkade one block away which is no small feat in busy Berlin! The hotel definitely met our needs.
- Carole (10/5): Recommended - Lovely stay in a Superior room, our son and daughter-in-law stayed in a basic room which did look a bit small for the money. The hotel had a good breakfast, you could order from the menu and not pay the expensive all-in option. They had lovely cards with ideas of unusual things to do in Berlin. One issue was that the safe got stuck, wouldn't recognise the code, with our passports in it but the night receptionist sorted it out for us after about half an hour and got it open. So good service.

We would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Berlin for a free days.

- Verified traveler (4/5): No air conditioning in extreme heat - No air conditioning in 100-degree weather! The a/c was broken and they couldn't get somebody to fix it until after I was leaving. It was about 90 degrees in my room. I ended up leaving right away and going to another hotel and they still tried to bill me, but then graciously gave me my money back after I pushed back.

My only negative is that the breakfast offered at the lobby is way overpriced at €25 for a continental breakfast. For half that you can get a real breakfast within a few minutes walk.

We did have a fan in the room and fully opening windows. But, although we had a fourth floor room that was great it overlooked the main junction, and the trams were very noisy. Getting a good comfortable nights sleep wasn’t easy. And breakfast was expensive. We chose to eat at more reasonably priced local cafes.

- Brittany (8/5): A True Gem! - I really enjoyed my time at the Circus Hotel! It's central to public transportation with the U Bahn, Tram and bus all steps from the hotel. The neighborhood in Mitte is very safe and has lots of restaurants, bars a park and fun shops! Staff at the Circus was friendly and helpful! Would stay again in a heartbeat if I was back in Berlin. My only real criticism is housekeeping entering my room when I put out the Do Not Disturb sign. They made the bed and opened the windows during a very cold day but left the rubbish. Maybe it was a mistake. It wouldn't deter me from staying again.

Staff very welcoming and a lovely fish display in the courtyard. Enjoyed italian restaurant round the corner and found micro brewery to stop off and a bierkeller. We walked everywhere and managed to see all expected sights but ideally need 3 plus days to space it out and enjoy more of the hotel. Breakfast was plenty and well presented. Alternatively a coffee and cake shop next door which was also lovely. hotel bar was open until 1am for that late drink. Great atmosphere when we arrived late on fri eve. Would definately return. Thanks to all staff for a memorable stay.

- June (10/5): Great Value Berlin Boutique Hotel - The hotel is perfectly located on a mass transit route. Although my room was a street facing one, the noise which one would associate with being situated at a crossroads and major transit hub was minimal (excellent insulated windows). The staff is exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly, and of the 3 holiday cocktails each of the bartenders created, Jamas was the most seasonally festive to me (all good, but the spices and cookie for this drink made it the winner). The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel provides free “treats” for its guests, which includes cookies & Lakrids licorice to wonderful lip balms & body creams. I paid for breakfast and it was delicious—freshly prepared on order (Turkish eggs highly recommended). But you can also as easily go to a local bakerei or coffee shop for breakfast as there are many in close proximity to the hotel. I would definitely stay her again if in Berlin.
