- Neil (9/5): Perfect - We really enjoyed our stay with Françoise. We were welcomed into her beautiful accommodation but it really felt like we were guests in her home. The property is filled with character and authenticity, is comfortable and really well located in an area that wasn’t busy and “local” but also only a short walk into the historic centre. There is a local piazza close by with great restaurants and a beautiful church.
- Alice (8/5): - La posizione la pulizia la raffinatezza
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Sebastian Florin (10/5): - Amazing place
- Robert (9/5): The best place to stay in Verona to access the city but also to rest and escape the crowds. - We lived the tranquillity of the building and the area around the beautiful church of Zan Zeno. Francoise has made Il Relais a true home from home and our rooms were lovely and beautifully decorated. The showers were a bit low pressure and one had to wait a bit for the hot water but it worked well when it arrived.
- Stephen (10/5): - Clean. Comfortable beds. Very nice breakfast. Wonderful host (Françoise).
- Monique (9/5): -
- Emma (10/5): Fantastic accommodation - Absolutely amazing accommodation and the owner was so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was plentiful and very enjoyable (it was so lovely waking up to the smell of breakfast each morning). The accommodation is in a quiet location and lovely building. Everything was exceptional and I can't wait to return.

- Lennart (8/5): -

Great location within good walking distance of everything and the host Francoise was really helpful - breakfast in a beautiful courtyard garden.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Charming B&B in a quiet street in the Zeno district just 15 minutes' walk from the main sights of Verona (there is also a bus route into the city with a stop just 2-3 minutes away). Our room with its spacious en-suite was very nice, and home-made breakfasts in the garden added to the experience. Nothing.
- Pauline (10/5): Perfect in every way - Beautiful and authentic with a lovely garden where you had breakfast , which you could also sit and relax in . It was in the most perfect location , 10 mins walk to the old town and 2mins away from San zeno piazza where there are lovely restaurants, bars & gelatos . The area was lovely & quiet
The facilities were great , the room we had was very clean and the bed comfortable
The bathroom was very large and had everything you need. There was a lovely little room which all the guests could access which had a fridge filled with water and beers , there is as also tea & coffee available whenever you want it . The owner was a delight and attended to our every need . I would return without hesitation, we had a wonderful stay in Verona! Nothing

- Barker (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation was fabulous. Our host was attentive and helpful but never intrusive. The room was lovely, the bathroom perfect and it was great having smart TV available also. The breakfast was yummy and sitting in the sunny courtyard was great. The location is very quiet. Ask the host to recommend traditional restaurants..she did a great job. Nothing...we loved it
- Antonia (9/5): Authentic & cosy B&B - Great location in a calm & pretty neighbourhood just a short walk from the city centre. Lovely B&B with a cosy garden. Françoise is a welcoming & nice host who help you with recommendations if you ask. Beds are a bit hard, but you get used to it. Otherwise, can't come up with anything. Would love to stay here again.
- lgsfind (10/5): Delightful, Felt like home - Absolutely loved our 3 nights here, Francoise was an amazing hostess, so warm friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was delicious and guests have a lovely sitting room upstairs which offered a kitchenette for our personal use.
The garden was a delight and a welcome respite from a busy day of walking and exploring.
We would love to have stayed longer ,but sadly needed to move on.
The b n b is in a lovely quiet neighbourhood with a great local mix of cafes and restaurants close by and an easy walk to the old town centre or train station.
highly recommended place to stay when visiting Verona.
- Sarah (10/5): Comfortable, delicious and a great location! - Wonderful location, great breakfast included in the price of the accommodation. Françoise was a fabulous host who also allowed us to borrow her parking card for free street parking.
- Stian (10/5): - A hidden gem. Very nice B&B just 10 minutes walk from the old city center. Very nice place
- Alpert (10/5): Wonderful stay in a clean, charming bed and breakfast! - Perfect is the only word to describe our stay at Il Relais dell’Abbazia. We were incredibly taken care of and loved everything about the bed and breakfast. The home was a charming mix of old and fresh. Every morning we woke up to the smell of fresh, warm pastries and enjoyed an incredible breakfast. I would stay here over and over again!!

- Cristina (10/5): - Il Relais dell'Abazzia is a wonderful B&B in the quieter area of San Zeno, about 10 mins walk away from the madness of the city centre.
Our room was very ample, well appointed and spotlessly clean.
Breakfast were freshly prepared each morning and they were plentyful and very nice.
Françoise was the perfect host, helping us in any way she could.
Would recommend without hesitation.
- Peter (10/5): A wonderful bed & breakfast near heart of Verona - The property is a beautifully renovated house, very close to the historic centre of Verona; an easy 14 to 15 minutes walk to the famous Arena, 20 to 25 minutes walk to the Duomo, with good neighbourhood restaurants only a few minutes away.
The live-in host was charming and attentive. Breakfasts were excellent.
- Raymond (10/5): Our 2 night stay was delightful and the accommodations were very lovely. - Beautiful home and our host was very nice and helpful
- Sue (9/5): Traditional, yet contemporary Italian style accommodation close to the centre - The location of Il Relais dell'Abbazia was perfect for walking into Verona and there was also a good selection of more local restaurants nearby, after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast was beautifully presented and personally served. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet with a lovely modern bathroom.

- Ray (10/5): Perfect place to stay in Verona - A perfect place to stay in Verona. Just over 10 minutes walk to the Arena, but a really quiet and beautiful old area that felt more like some small country town. The building and the facilities were exceptional, and had far more character than some modern hotel. Françoise, our host, was friendly and helpful, and can organise a car from or to the airport. Very highly recommended. Nothing at all
- Debbie (10/5): A wonderful stay in a perfect location! - Our stay with Francoise was wonderful. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Breakfast in the garden was delight. The house is in a stunning local neighbourhood which is quiet and with a wonderful choice of local bars and restaurants. Local families with their children playing in the San Zeno square was a delight to watch. It was an easy walk into the city centre alongside the river to Castelvecchio and the arena.
We could not recommend this accommodation highly enough. Nothing!
- Linda (10/5): Beautiful peaceful stay in Verona - Great location in a residential area but an easy walk to the historical centre.
San Zeno church and many eating options at your doorstep.
Lovely courtyard garden for breakfast and relaxing.
Fantastic breakfast.
Kind and attentive host. Not a problem for us, but note there is no lift... which you wouldn't expect in this beautiful old home.
- Noelle (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (10/5): Perfect Verona stay - Lovely host. Very clean, comfortable and sizeable room. Tasty breakfast included and even beer for an evening sit in the garden. The bed was lovely. All in all, a 10/10 stay. Nothing

- davidmI832NU (10/5): Charm and character - It is a really charming, special place run by the very helpful owner,Francoise.
Breakfast in the garden, beautifully appointed rooms, and lovely restaurants on hand. Best area to stay if you seek some peace away from the old town and a more authentic experience.
- Lori (10/5): Like staying in an Italian friend’s home. - Francois’ attention to personal detail and the room. We had the large room and it was like an apartment. Fully restored beautiful old home with gorgeous garden.
- Dmitry (10/5): Exceptional - The property itself is amazing; it's the beautifully restored 15th century abbey. Spacious room, perfectly restored interiors and Francoise n exceptional host

- Adweeth (7/5): Good -
- Margaret (10/5): Beautiful B&B in a perfect location with a welcoming and helpful host. - Perfect location - nice & quiet yet a leisurely 10 minutes walk alongside the river into town. The room was very spacious and very comfortable. Shower pressure was excellent. We loved the feel of the place - it's decorated in white and pale colours making it feel very serene (which I suppose is in keeping with the building's original use). The host was delightful; welcoming and helpful and generous with her time. Her breakfasts were the best we had in B&B in Italy; fresh fruit salad and eggs cooked the way you preferred in addition to all the usual bits. Can't think of a thing - that's the honest truth ;-)
- Cristina (10/5): Comfy, cozy, cottage - What a beautiful, quiet and quaint place. The owner, Françoise, was fantastic and so welcoming. She made breakfast for us and everything was delicious. We had a wonderful time. I would come back in a second! Nothing
- Elle (10/5): A lovely, calm corner of beautiful Verona - Everything -- the rooms are beautiful and well-appointed, spacious and very comfortable. Everything is spotlessly clean and the owner, Francoise, is welcoming and personable. There is a lounge for guests with free coffee, water, tea, and beer, which is a very thoughtful touch. It may look a tad out of the main tourist drag on a map, but trust me, it is a very easy walk to the center and all the main tourist sites -- about 10 minutes to the heart of the old city -- and there are plenty of good restaurants and cafes just around the corner. The Abbey's biggest plus for me is that it is in such a quiet location, away from the tourist madness around Juliet's purported house, but close enough for an easy stroll to see everything. I would not stay anywhere else in Verona! No complaints at all.
- Adriana (10/5): Exceptional - Every thing really : room garden breakfast staff. The owner Fransuaz helped us with logistics, information and permits late check out thank you very much Nothing
- Celines (10/5): Wonderful stay in Verona! - We had a wonderful stay in this lovely bed and breakfast. The owner, Françoise, is a charming host who pays close attention to details to ensure a comfortable stay - from the instant we arrived at the property we felt a warm welcome. She walked us to our room which was lit up and with a very comfortable temperature in the middle of a cold afternoon.
The suite had very nice touches and quality bath equipment with nice hot water and good pressure- essential after a day of walking in the autumn cold.
More importantly, the property was so tranquil and quiet away from the bustle of the center but just a few steps away from it and in proximity to some nice restaurants and cafes- it was the perfect choice for us as Verona can get extremely packed and busy in the weekends. We had a wonderful sleep.
We loved waking to the church bells in the morning and the lovely sound of birds when we stepped outside.
Lastly, Françoise personally took care of breakfast every morning which so much kindness and care, which made it so personal. There’s a lovely garden outside which at this time of the year is not open but would be lovely in the summer, spring.
If we are ever are back in Verona we will stay here again! Nothing to dislike.
- Leonel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marc (8/5): Very good - Very nice room. You feel at home.
Old house with a lot of flair and good sleeping climate.
Very spacious bath room with lots of space to store your stuff. Excellent.
Breakfast in the garden with a nice view. Breakfast has room for improvement.
In this price category you don't expect packaged goods e.g. jam, cheese, yogurt, etc.
So this sums up as "ok". Come on, we are in Italy. You are famous for fresh and delicious food! What about self made cake for example? Ore some vegetables? At least fruit salad and mortadella was fresh and bread was good.
- 992zeinah (2/5): Cheater - This is not a respectable guest house, the host is a cheater and she acted dishonestly, we booked the superior room which is the most expensive room in the house and the booking was made two months prior to our travel date, we arrive on 31 August to Relai dell'Abazia and we were surprised by the host reaction, she told us that there is no availability in the house and took us to another resident that was cheaper than dell'Abazia (half price, and we had the chance to book it previously but unfortunately we choose the dell'Abazia because of the garden and the reviews), we told our agent about this issue but the host refused to admit the responsibility or to apologize and give a refund. This is not a trustable hotel even though certified by websites like Booking or Expedia.
- Scott (10/5): - François’s kindness and excellent breakfasts were a complete bonus to what is a lovely property with beautiful rooms.
- Christoph (9/5): Superb -
- Suzy (10/5): - Françoise met us at the property when we arrived late and showed us a round the house. We enjoyed our breakfast in the garden every morning. Françoise was a lovely host. She drove us to the train station when there was no bus service and no taxi service.
- Robyn (9/5): Authentic and relaxing stay - It was very rustic and authentic. The host was very personable and helpful. She made fresh eggs for breakfast every morning. Nothing much really. However booking .com description was misleading in that I expected Coffee Machine/tea making facilities and satellite TV to be in the room however they were in a room nearby for general use. This was ok but not expected!
- Crossbadger (10/5): Rustic, beautiful building with the perfect hostess - This is a beautiful old building very close to the Basilica of San Zeno and only a 10 minute walk to the castle and the old town.
The rooms are rustic and well decorated with excellent aircon. Our bathroom was large, the bed was comfortable and it was all spotlessly clean.
There is a communal lounge on the upstairs floor to obtain free tea, coffee and beer (yes, beer, Moretti no less!). Breakfast was served in the garden by the wonderful Francoise and consisted of fruit salad, pastries, cheese, yogurt, freshly sliced mortadella and eggs cooked to your liking.
Whilst a left turn from the front door will take you into the town centre, a left turn and across the road will take you to a quaint little bar away from the main tourist traps.
We loved staying here and will most certainly stay here again next time we visit Verona.
- Millar (9/5): Lovely, tranquil B&B with friendly and caring staff. - A charming historic building with the original architecture still in place. The room was a great size. The biggest room we had in fact that wasn’t an apartment in Italy.
The outdoor garden where you enjoy breakfast each morning is so relaxing and tranquil. The breakfast itself was also ample and the food was of a great quality along with the coffee.
The staff were so nice here aswell, we felt welcome from the second we arrived and almost as if we were staying at a loving friends house. Need to be a bit careful when you shower, it has one of the fixed half screens so if you’re a bit unaware of or not used to it you can let a fair bit of water out of the shower area.
Not an issue for us as we loved the stay but it’s about 1km from the main old town area. The walk there is great and you can walk either side of the river along the raised paved/concreted banks. Don’t let the distance deter you at all, there is a hop on hop off bus and easy public transport options available. Or even use the Verona city bikes if you must.
- Jannet (10/5): - Loved this property..comfortable and charming 'old school' construction from days gone by, with exposed beam ceilings, panel doors with mortised locks and old style lever latches. The bathtub was 'oversized' compared to the norm one sees and all amenities were included. Loved the backyard garden for a beautifully served breakfast by the hostess,Françoise. She was most accommodating with anything needed. A lovely hostess. Entry to/from the building was via a seperated door from her residence which gave everyone privacy. Great location to Verona. Will definitely stay with her again when we return to Verona.
- Karen (9/5): Delightful setting, ideal location - Quiet, lovely furnishings, ideal location
Accommodating owner who made sure we arrived ok
Delicious breakfast
