- RoadWarriorDoc (4/5): Hotel of Missed Opportunities - Hotel Indigo East Liberty is one of a limited number of options in the neighborhood. It’s probably what saves it. The Good: Hotel is clean and quiet. Bed comfortable. Large bathrooms. There’s a bar. The Bad: Rooms are austere. Hard surfaces everywhere including floors. Only soft surfaces are the bed and drapes making the room sound cavernous. No chair to sit other than a rolling office chair despite there being plenty of room for a chair or sofa. The Ugly: Check in delayed while the front desk agent and bellman sat outside having a smoke. Front desk agent came back inside reeking of cigarette smoke. It was gross. Neighborhood is in transition. Not sure I’d walk outside alone at night

- monicaaO6414GW (2/5): IHG member not honored after terrible stay. - I stayed at Hotel Indigo East Liberty, Pittsburgh,PA March 17, 2026 for 1 night because I wanted to see my granddaughter’s play and visit her school the next day. My husband, mother and myself had the worst night stay at this hotel!! The beds in my room were sagging in the center and the frame was squeaky as if it wasn’t stable. Every time I turned it squeaked. My mom’s room was next to someone who was blasting their music and the lounge below was playing loud music as well. I sent a complaint and the case manager only offered 4000 points to compensate. Not free stay and the points are 1/5 of what a one night stay would be. Poor customer service towards your IHG members and I’m very disappointed!!!

- Explore37996927580 (2/5): horrific please join us for a class action law suit - On January 9th, I checked into the IHG Holtel East Liberty in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I stayed until January 14th. During my stay this past summer, I noticed significant lapses in cleanliness, including stains on the bedspread from previous guests and a dirty shower upon check-in. Unfortunately, these issues persisted during my most recent visit. I found it necessary to specifically request that my room be vacuumed and mopped and that the beds be made - services that should be standard for any guest. I want to clarify that while a Thai tea was accidentally spilled on the bed while I was working on my doctoral research, this was an isolated accident and not an intentional act. I have consistently tipped the housekeeping staff and expressed my gratitude for their work, as my only goal was to return to a hygienic environment. Beyond cleanliness, I contracted food poisoning after eating their chicken and fries. Later, a staff member informed me that their grease hadn’t been changed. This raised serious concerns about the safety and security of the premises. I also encountered two individuals who seemed to be unauthorized guests inside the building. One was using a knife to open food in a common area, while the other was yelling at the bar attendant. These encounters created an unsafe and unprofessional environment. When I asked the cleaning person to take the trash, she responded that it was my personal belongings. Most disturbing, however, was my interaction with the front desk manager, Ryan. When I requested change for the laundry facilities, Ryan informed me he could not open the safe and demanded I use my bank card in the machine. When I declined, I asked about the professional relationship between my institution and the hotel. Ryan responded by stating that my school spends enough money that, if he were to call them, I would be "put in my place." and that is exactly what he did. This comment was threatening, unprofessional, and entirely unacceptable. And that was when I called Dr. Pat Lee. and told me that they called my school and told them that they no longer wanted me to stay at this hotel. I posted my complaint on Google. Someone started slandering me. Someone responded, identifying themselves as the owner, and proceeded to post lies about my stay, my relationship with my colleagues, and my institution itself. For example, 1. Contrary to the claim that I refused to leave the room during cleaning, I simply asked if I could remain and work while the staff member was present. During this time, the staff member and I engaged in a pleasant conversation about food, diet, and chronic illness. Although a staff member named "Raggy" offered to launder my clothes, I declined the offer. I was later confused when they questioned why I had supposedly asked for my items to be washed. 2. Regarding the tea on the bed: I purchased the tea from a restaurant at 9:00 PM, brought it back to my room, and accidentally spilled it while I was working. Reasons why I felt physically unsafe: 1. The presence of staff members' partners and relatives loitering in the hotel hallways. 2. Persistent stalking and harassment from an individual named Ryan. 3. Unauthorized individuals using a key to open and close my door while I was inside the room. 4. The slandering of my reputation to my academic institution. 5. I saw moments of prostitution in a lobby and hallways of the hotel Furthermore, I must note that I observed a palpable sense of racial indifference and racial microgreesions from both the parking attendant and Ryan. As a minister and a scholar, I hold myself to a high standard of conduct; I was never aggressive, I remained polite, and I followed all protocols. To be met with such hostility and bias is a significant departure from the hospitality I expect.

- mark (8/5): Mostly very good. - We paid for valet parking. Asante was awesome! Great guy and very helpful and fun. We went without bath towels for a day. I called down and they said there would be some soon. After 2 hours, i showered and dried off with hand towels. After talking with the manager at the desk (long beard) He said he would get some up to our room. They never came. The next morning, I went down and talked to a different manager. As I was talking about this, Reggie overheard it and ran immediately for towels and other cloths and brought them up. Reggie was extremely responsive and helpful. The front desk people, not so much. Very much liked the bartenders, Reggie and Asante! Front desk people! Not friendly or caring. Inflated prices for Game weekend. faucet in our sink was loose and moved around.

That there was only one comfortable chair in the room, that the toilet wasn't securely bolted down. The bar seemed to be understaffed and half-hearted. My wife ordered a gin-&-tonic and got a gin-&-seltzer - the worst mixed drink of her life. They didn't have the right glasses for what was ordered, and were always pushing to upsell. Oh, and being forced to leave the building for breakfast due to a private party in the whole dining area.

There is only one staff member for each job role. The staff is friendly but loud and unprofessional. The valet parking charges $32 dollars a night and was trying to take my high-end car off-site until I threatened to park on the street and requested a refund. Nails were coming through the vinyl floors, the Wi-Fi did not work and the vents to the air conditioner were filled with dust (disgusting).

We booked Hotel Indigo quickly online and the staff could not have been more kind. Grossly stained office chair, odd hospital-like room divider curtain that is falling down; screeching shower; crusty poop stains in the toilet; flimsy bedding; no replenishment of styrofoam coffee cups and supplies, garbage emptying, towels, etc until we asked repeatedly (3 night stay). Lobby and restaurant bleak and empty. Common area furniture and rugs shabby.

However, the coffee maker didn't work right (fixed after complaint) and most importantly, the water pressure was insufficient for the shower head (not fixed), the shower head old. On the second day, our room wasn't made up yet at 4:30pm, and when we complained, the staff responded unprofessionally. They badly need training. Management should stay in its own rooms from time to time, so things get fixed. And it would be good if a manager were around when customers ask to speak to them. Finally, we paid $32 for valet parking per night, and during the last night, the car was just parked on the street. The hotel charges 4-star prices for a 1star experience. We left very unhappy.

We stayed two nights with housekeeping coming in after first night, we did not specially request it. when we returned later that day the room was spotless! bed freshly made, bathroom with fresh towels and just like when we checked in. All the staff we encountered were available and very helpful!.Just a delightful experience !

Not sure of the history of this building, but it is due for some serious updating and remodeling. Other than that, it was clean, safe, quite and convenient for visiting the East Liberty & Homewood areas.
- Edward (4/5): - we stayed three nights. Housekeeping never came into the room. Finally on our last night, we had to call a the main desk for fresh towels. Tiles on the shower floor were slippery and I fell in the shower. Door to the room was extremely hard to open and close. It definitely needs maintenance. Found the safe in room lock. Made multiple requests to have it opened. This was never resolved.
- Chris (6/5): - Restaurant was out of French fries ( how does that even happen) then when I got my burger it was still raw and undercooked in the middle. Told the waitress, didn’t have to pay, then we went to the Taco spit down the street. Also the menu is limited
- Milagros (10/5): Home away from Home - It was fantastic! Slept like a baby and forgot I was there on business. Bathroom was huge and the room was cozy. I will say I had the BEST Pancake at the restaurant downstairs. Highly recommended!!

- Brandon (6/5): - Homeless person came into the hotel lobby and sat in the lounge couch across from us, asking for money through PayPal. None of the hotel attendants in the lobby paid any attention, and let it happen. The room was partially cleaned. I've never been to a hotel where they partially cleaned a room. Very odd. The staffs abrasiveness can be less desirable. Probably won't be back to this location.

The shower glass was dirty it had old soap stuck on and and a lot of water marks😳 i didn’t like that I tried to order in restaurant down stairs and they didn’t have not one potato not good for a big restaurant. Lastly I pulled up to hotel and was charged $32 for valet parking that’s crazy.

Times should be posted for breakfast in the restaurant as we thought we had time due to information from the website but they gave us some muffins for the confusion. Great stay

The pillows were so hard that I have a neck ache all day. 100-% polyester sheets and I covered my area in the bed with the extra towels because it was like sleeping in plastic. The restaurant is depressing and zero people in the morning so I found somewhere else to get a coffee and someNo working area in the hotel and also

- Hernan (6/5): Not too bad - Great location, safe neighborhood. A lot to do, eat and see in the area. The hotel itself, however, is ok. The service is not the best, especially when it comes to the restaurant/bar area. They don't have the best attitude either. Would I stay there again? Probably, but I would look elsewhere first.

- Richard (2/5): - The property itself is a nice smaller hotel in a very walkable neighborhood in East Liberty. The hotel is extremely understaffed and the staff there clearly do not want to help or provide service. My suite missed housekeeping services only be told they were gone for the day and focus on check outs when there! I had NO soap in either bathroom of my suite. When asked on the phone I was told to come down and get a bar at the desk as no one was available to bring any! The bar staff person was no better. Her main concerns were when she opened and when she got off work. There is no management ever on sight apparently. The entire staff needs to be fired. Nice hotel otherwise.

- Carla (8/5): Indigo by IGH, East Liberty, PA - We enjoyed our visit. East Liberty’s neighborhood is in transition. It was dirty in the alleys and side streets. The hotel was one of the brighter spots. The decor was charming, but worn out. Our lounge chair was broken and dirty. The room and bath were clean. The TV was too small for the space and hard to see when in bed. The bed was ok, good pillow! Loved the size of the shower and bath in our King Suite. Staff was Amazing! The food was good too. Hats off to the cook! We like the Baker Square town center. It was a lot of fun. The Food was mostly fried , but there were salad offerings. They had a Jeni’s ice cream, but we bailed after standing in line for 40 minutes. We will check back in a couple years.

Called front desk for help, told us they would send someone, but no one ever showed up. Bedside table was missing entire drawer. Window blind was broke...would not go up. Mold in shower (on a positive note, the shower was very large). Valet parking was expensive, but easy to use. Expected more for a $270 room.
- Yueting (2/5): - Booked two queens but only got one king. And this hotel did not provide any refund but only the complaint phone number of Expedia. Very terrible experience. There are so many better hotels with comparable prices in downtown. Pick the other one if possible!
- Ed (6/5): - While the location was great for work and dining, the property has not maintained preventative maintenance. Soap dispensers were empty, the room location was loud and the rooms were overpriced for the value. Onsite dining was limited and the staff were generally occupied with other tasks, so customer service was lacking. I will give it another chance but after four stays, then trending is not good.

Valet parking for $32 is bananas especially when public parking was found directly in front of the hotel. - Alejandro (4/5): - Unfortunately, the maintenance employees they don’t know about cleaning the air conditioner and fixing the door when there is guest in the room .When we arrived from shopping at 3:20 pm and were trying to relax, the air conditioning was uncovered with a towel on the floor covered in dirt from the air conditioning. They were fixing the door because it was so hard to open. They told us they would be back in 30 minutes to finish the job, and we had to leave the room. Why did they decide to do that when there were guests? and by the way, they need to fix the sink is clog and the shower has a lot mold take care of the place .I'll never go back to that place!

- Colleen (2/5): - Stay away!!! Booked a reservation for 2 double beds for 2 nights. (3 adults) After checking in, went to the room to find 1 double bed. Went back to front desk and was then told they do not have any rooms with 2 double beds available. They only have Kings rooms without pull out couches. Also, rollaways were available. After waiting 1 hour, we were given two rooms 1 with 1 King bed and 1 room with 1 Double bed. Our reservation was for 2 nights, when we returned after going out the next day, we were locked out of the King Room and could only get into the room with 1 Double bed. At this point asked for a refund for the second night and left. They said they had to contact Expedia to issue a refund. The family checking in behind us had the same issue. Side note - There were SHEER shades on the large bathroom windows. The other windows in the room had sheer shades and a decorative cloth shade. Bathroom only SHEER. Had to turn off light when using bathroom at night.

Too few valets available during prime checkout. Loved the bartender! Despite my disappointment in wine selection, she was quick to offer alternatives and also spent time discussing the area and giving suggestions. Very professional young lady.

- emily (6/5): - Really hated the valet aspect. The attendants were super nice but i could literally see my car out my window, i could definitely park it myself for cheaper than 32 dollars a day. Super convenient location, walking distance to breakfast and dinner spots that are really good. The bathroom did have some issues (i.e a shower that leaked excess water onto the floor and low toilet pressure.) however the rooms were spacious and comfortable. It was a mixed bag, some really highs and some manageable lows.
- David (6/5): - Nice property. Friendly front desk. Disappointed that we had to request wash cloths and towels because housekeeping did not sufficiently stock bath. Restaurant. Placed our order and after 25 minutes no meals and no sign of server. We asked hostess the status. When she inquired in kitchen our meal was not yet being prepared. BTW only two other couples were in the restaurant so the issue was not that there was too many customers.
- Derrick (6/5): - The hotel indigo is a fine hotel for a short overnight. Stay parking is not included in the valet. Parking is kind of pricey. The restaurant downstairs is OK but not great and there are not a lot of great food options within walking distance.
