Guest Reviews
- Robert (6/5): Wont be back - Noisy and basically and avarage stay with avarage food
- Matt (10/5): - I loved the service and packed breakfast for the airport taxi
- Christopher (10/5): - The hotel is near the airport. The staffs are very friendly and courteous. Overall, the hotel is perfect!
- Shane (4/5): - This property was definitely not as represented by pictures online. We chose it because they showed a nice bathroom and beautiful room and ours was definitely not either. Very noisy outside our window with staff and dumpsters and ended up taking cold showers room was bare and minimal.
- Philip Rey (6/5): - Pros: Property is nice, has a nice pool. Staff opened up breakfast before our we left for our flight. Water pressure and hot water was a plus.
Cons: Booked hotel in March for June 15 -17. We arrived around 10:30pm from El Nido and room was not ready. Booked a massage for 8pm and the
- Renato (10/5): - Property up keep, cleanliness, location and helpful staff
- Donald (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff is incredible. The food was fantastic. The bathrooms and showers and pool are nice and clean. The location and was perfect for our plans. Would recommend!
- Abigail (10/5): - Kind and accommodating staff
- k_a_t_e_010203 (4/5): Very disappointing - We stayed for 1 night prior to a flight from the local airport and had a pretty bad stay. We knew it would be basic, but the room was more like a cell. The air con unit had been poorly fitted and had a large gap around the side, meaning the heat and mozzies could get in. We had to jam furniture against the unit to try and close the gap. The bed was rock hard.
The wifi did not work well in the room (which was on the second floor). Noise proofing was terrible. There were screaming children playing in the pool until 11.30pm, despite the fact the pool closed at 10pm. We called reception twice to ask that they close the pool/stop the noise given that we had to get up at 3am, but they did not help. Unusually for the Philippines, the staff were unfriendly and disengaged.
The only positive was the airport transfer, which was comfortable and on time.
There's not much to do around the hotel- very limited restaurants and bars.
- Hansol (10/5): - Staffs are nice and helpful. They have a buffet in every meal.
- Todd (10/5): - Loved the stay! Great staff!
- Dylan (6/5): - The on-site restaurant was nice.
- Richard (6/5): - Clearly a historical hotel that deserves updating.
Bed was terrible and could not sleep due to very noisy teens. Had to request a comforter as only a sheet was provided. Please warn customers when the hotel is filled with loud teenagers who are there for overnight graduation ball. Even the staff were noisy through the night.
Bathroom in desperate need of renovation.
Breakfast buffet below average.
- Eleanor (8/5): - Staff accommodating. Noisy at night maybe other customers. Convenient
- Kimberly (2/5): - Our room did not match the photos on Expedia. The bedroom and bathroom specifically did not match the photos. We’re not sure if only some rooms got this remodel that are shown on Expedia or what, but our room was not what we were expecting at all. The beds are uncomfortably stiff, the furniture is out dated, and the bathroom is a health hazard. We noticed mold on the bathroom counter, tub, and ceiling of the bathroom. The AC is incredibly loud and doesn’t properly cool the room. The walls are thin as well, which made sleeping soundly difficult because of all the noises, yelling, and honking outside our window. When we arrived at the airport, we were told that a shuttle would be waiting for us. We tried messaging and calling the hotel but did not receive any information regarding our expected shuttle. After waiting 30min and contemplating purchasing a taxi there, the shuttle finally arrived. When we came to our room after a busy day of travel, we found 2 lizards and multiple bugs inside our room. We booked for 4 nights but only stayed for 1. The staff were friendly for what it’s worth, we overall we would not recommend this hotel.
- Elvira (10/5): - The staff are very nice and helpful. Great internet/ wifi , nice clean pool . Very good breakfast
- Marivi (10/5): - Excellent
- James (10/5): We'll be back, eh. - Amazing place, excellent service.
- elenita t (10/5): - Our stay at this hotel was very good. The staff were all very helpful from Security Guards , Kuya Boyet and Bads who pick us up and took us back to the airport. Uno the front desk was very patient in giving us information re: tours . Also, the dining staff , housekeeping staff were all great. They have good breakfast ( free) serve everyday buffet and Dinner (399 pesos only).
The hotel is close to the airport and walkable to the Mall, eateries like Jollibee and Chowking.
Overall experience was good/excellent . Highly recommended if we go back here in Puerto Princesa Palawan we will come back at this hotel.
- Deidree (10/5): - The staff were a friendly and helpful. I liked the facilities, the spacious room, the pool. Breakfast was also nice. The reception staff helped me a lot with my external tour booking and I really appreciated their assistance. Breakfast was good and they even cooked eggs, omelettes and pancakes for guests. The location close to restaurants and Robinson’s Mall made it extremely convenient.
Minor issues only: The air conditioner was a bit loud so that might be a problem for sensitive sleepers. It would be nice to have a hairdryer and kettle in the room.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to people visiting Puerto Princesa.
- alden (10/5): - Quality rooms compared to other hotels in area , large rooms in executive rooms .
- Bryce (10/5): - Staff is excellent, service is amazing!
- Geoffrey Stewart Gordon (10/5): - Close proximity to everything. Easy day trip tours
- Verified traveler (2/5): Cheap for a reason - Slow staff often playing on their phones in groups , poor quality food often served cold. Mixing ketchup with mayonnaise in a shot glasses to serve with food. Rooms need work and servicing.
- Clarize (10/5): - Staying at this property is very seamless. Staff are very helpful and the location is very convenient. They also have a complementary pick up and drop off to the airport
- Kristine (10/5): - Great stay and amazing staff! Thank you.
- Jennylyn (8/5): - The location is superb. It is a walking distance from Robinson's Mall and popukar fastfood chain. It is also convenient to hail a taxi and public transpo.
Staffs are polite. I particularly commend "King" who works at the dining section for his readiness to assist guests.
Room is average. There was no power socket in the bathroom for hair dryer, shaver, etc. Furnitures are old, and outside noise can be heard.
- ronald (10/5): - It's a very dated hotel, but it's clean, and the staff is super friendly and helpful.
- Vincent (4/5): - Airport pick up was not readily available, takes a long time to pick up service phone. Some staff were not service oriented. Doorman was consistent in opening and closing doors. We did not receive a welcome drink, while some guest received welcome drink as observed.
- Wendy (10/5): - Staff was friendly
- William (10/5): - Nice hotel’friendly staff’good dining options’near to the mall(shopping center)would stay again’helped me out with transfers to El Nido‘very good❤️
- GIRLIE (10/5): - Very good
- Maria (10/5): - My family is grateful for an exceptional service we received during our stay at Citystate Asturias Palawan, from the front desk to the tour coordinator, all were very professional, cordial, and have excellent customer service.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The free big breakfast was a life saver for the all-day Puerto Princesa tours.
- Ahmad Ardashier (10/5): Amazing - Easy booking , nice place
- aleandrakaned (10/5): Allgoods - Allgoods highly recommend!
Staff is very nice and also the food is good ,the hotel is very clean and if you are hungry Jollibee is near in the hotel you can walk .
I will comeback here in 2025 🤗🤗🤗
- John Richard (10/5): Stop over - Nice stay
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel staff were very courteous and accommodating. Excellent customer service from frontdesk to restaurant to room service.
The hotel though is a bit old and the blanket is a thin sheet. No duvet. But room is generally clean. What I didn’t like was the AC. It was too noisy and when it reaches the desired temp, the motor shuts off and makes like a banging sound that wakes me up multiple times at night. I really couldn’t sleep well. The CR exhaust is also loud.
- Loreto (10/5): - Safety, friendly staff ,free breakfast, and big rooms
- 724arrv (8/5): When you are in Palawan…. - Room: bare essentials… very far from the main lobby.
Services: staff are efficient but not exceptional
Spa: needs improvement
Breakfast buffet: okey for this type of hotel
Ambience: boring
I would not recommend this hotel to my friends. It does not meet the expectations when u r in Palawan .
- Ethel (6/5): - the noise from outside and the air-conditioner
- Isabel Marie (10/5): - Perfect
- SimonOnvacation (8/5): A place to stay en route to El Nido - Old hotel, probably did a quick makeover to fix or renovate most of the areas but for a day or two to stay while en route to El Nido, this place will do.
Walking distance to Robinson's Mall, and one short ride to city proper.
Place is old but clean, staff is friendly and courteous as well.
Breakfast buffet was good, serving local cuisine, but not much selections though. The same place turns into a bar at night, with live acoustic performance for guests to unwind. Wifi at the lobby is great, but not in the rooms. It's hit or miss at times.
- Listerpaul (6/5): - The place is old and needs to be updated.
- labeachesa (8/5): Lovely place - I was eyeing another hotel when we plan our trip to PPS. I saw that Asturias have a promo so I tried to book through the website but to no avail. I was able to book over the phone without them asking for any deposit.
The room was big for the 2 of us. Beds are comfortable. The buffet breakfast is just right not much variety but that's all the breakfast you need. The staff are friendly. Robinsons is just walking distance. Jollibee and chowking too. They picked us up from the sea port and took us to the airport for free. I love the pool. I love this place. Highly recommended.
- 572simples (8/5): Not living up to their reputation. - This place is obviously still struggling from the effects of the Covid lockdowns. The staff is the best part of this place. The air conditioner is undersized & has a daylight gap all around it. The room refrigerator is worthless because its electric circuit shuts down when you leave the room. Who wants to come back from a trip & grab a warm drink from the ref? Breakfast buffet is pretty slim. They post signage asking you to conserve water, but they don't even include water saving faucets or shower heads. And then there were the bugs. If I had known that they are offering 'Hourly Rates' I would have avoided this place.
- Krishnan (10/5): - Hotel Asturias is a good place for a family stay though a bit dated but their staff at all levels were excellent giving us early check in,
- VonRijn (10/5): Awesome Palawan Experience - Our Palawan adventure started the moment the Hotel arranged for our airport pick up.
Everyone in Asturias were friendly and very accomodating. Our interconnecting room was spacious. The pool was amazing and it was open until 10 pm.
The hotel also arranged for all our tours including El Nido and we did not have any issue at all. Just a suggestion, if you are driving from Puerto Princessa to El Nido.. Make it a private tour. Its worth the extra money you pay.
- Dindo (8/5): - Nice place to stay
- angelrD2581JC (10/5): Wonderful experienced from Citystate Asturias Hotel Palawan - Citystate Asturias Hotel Palawan is such a wonderful hotel to stay in. Me and my family together stay in that hotel for a week. We had so much enjoyed because of the amazing amenities that a hotel had offered including a very clean and cozy hotel room, nice and big swimming pool plus the warmth and very accommodating staffs and crew of the hotel..Truly an unforgettable experienced we had. Hoping to come back some other time 🤗💖
- 329angelinav (10/5): Great place to stay with family and friends - The people, crew and all what can I say they are very nice friendly and accommodating. The place is a paradise. The room has a very wide space for our whole family, we are very comfortable. The hotel is very close to the city business area. The food is great and the salad corner is wow. With a very nice and clean swimming pool which my kids enjoyed the most.
- hachiv2022 (10/5): Palawan vacation. - Highly recommended . The staff are very approachable and friendly... They have a very nice and spacious room that you and your family can enjoy. The comfort room is really neat and clean that is a big plus for me. Will stay here again when I'm in palawan
- Aries Jones (10/5): - Excellent stay
- 780zacf (4/5): UNFRIEDNLY PLACE FOR FOREIGN TOURISTS - We stayed 4 nights
Wifi was fine
The rooms were very confy and spacious however We found cockroaches in our room
We also found the staff were very unfriendly towards us. When I would speak to them they would purposefully ignore me to end the conversation with me. I would not recommend this place if you are a foreign tourist
- Jane (8/5): - They should give at least extra TOWELS not only one pcs .
- Heintje (8/5): - OVERALL IT IS OK 8.5 STAR OUT OF 10 STAR
- Verified traveler (6/5): Price didnt match quality - Excellent spa. Food was above average. We booked an executive room, It was in fair condition. Gym was very good. Price defintely did not match overall quality. I would return for the spa and not the stay.
- wumanlui (10/5): best in PPS - This hotel is very clean and beautiful with a swimming pool.
For the price you pay, which is very similar to other 3stars hotels, Asturias is definitely the best choice.
The hotel is close to airport around 8mins drive away. They provide airport shuttle service, easy and on time!
Breakfast i like the egg station!
Staff is helpful and friendly!
You can also walk to Jolibee (1min away and opens 24h) or Robinson Mall (10min walk).
Highly recommend to every one!!!
- rhedgei (10/5): One of the best - One of the best hotel I checked in. I really love the pool especially during night. They have buffet lunch and dinner for a lower price. The rooms are excellent with fridge. They have safe lock, 24 hrs assistance and comfortable beds. The best part, they have free breakfast and not plated. Its buffet. A many big checks!! Thank you Citystate Asturias. I highly recommend this hotel. It is near Robinsons Place and 2 fastfood chains
- Salanjali (6/5): Stay at Citystate Asturias - The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was okay, but there were many things in the room that didn't work - a couple of power points were not working, the door wouldn't shut, the lamp was not working. There were also quite a few mosquitoes.
The big plus is the hotel's spa... one of the best hilot massages I have ever had!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Place was clean, staff extremely helpful and courteous. WiFi was next to useless...very erratic...connected but no internet...at times, had to leave the room for internet access. The air conditioner leaked water, creating a slip & fall hazard. The lock on the door was a disaster...Had to go to the front desk virtually every time we wanted to get into the room because the key would not work.
- aetasglamping (10/5): A Home in Puerto Princesa City - WOW I have never seen lots of happy and smiling faces inside a hotel till we found #citystateasturias in Puerto Princesa City! The Place is just Perfect!
A Family Friendly hotel spacious inside and well secured.
I’m in love with the High ceiling.
The Hotel Spa ManugHilot is a very unique Spa Experience they use Virgin Coconut Oil and natural herbs for treatment. Inside is picture perfect instagramable! Walls are hand painted and divisions are made of bamboo while flooring is made of anibong (Palawan palm tree)The interior is very relaxing it reminds me of a Filipino farm life. The Spa looks expensive but very much affordable. My advice is to reserve a slot earlier cz last night I couldn’t get a reservation they’re full booked till 1AM this morning. Lucky I still have 1 night left.
Location is near the #robinsonspalawan just a walking distance. They all have different types of rooms for high end, mid class and even backpackers.
You have to see their outdoor swimming pool it’s beautiful excellent for families and couples the lifeguard is always visible with a big smile. My kids love it!
Restaurant is clean and servers are very helpful with a smile. I have no worries staying here with my kids. Everyone is nice and willing to help.
Management are SUPER NICE! Thank you very much.
My family found a Home in Puerto Princesa City! It’s a must experience.

- Ranilo (8/5): Fun & relaxing hotel experience - we had great time. the food, pool & amenities were very good. The staffs were helpful and friendly. our stay was relaxing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Meh... it was good for the airport transport buffet food Is not good some of the staff are great others are just terrible. Room with a door and a roof ticks those boxes And the room was pretty quiet with all the noises going on
- Eddie (8/5): - Didnt like hard pillows , need to add softer pillows, no hot water
- 352angelinev (10/5): family vacation - love the place and the staff. im a ofw and its my 1st time to visit palawan with family explore the palawan and stayed at a good hotel with good ambiace, very relaxing. love love the food, their buffet food really good yet very affordble.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good overall experience - Good location, friendly staff, decent food. Excellent pool, rooms are definitely showing some wear and tear. The pluses outweigh the minuses
- touristbusybody (10/5): Great Venue for Seminars - We stayed for a seminar organized by our professional organization and it was great. Rooms are comfortable, lobby was great to hang out, breakfast was good and you can easily dip in the pool after the event. Accessible to locations in the City. Nothing to complain about.
- Im_ryll (8/5): Nice place - I stayed in this hotel with my co-workers for a few days for a 3-day conference. The place was nice but the food was not so great. The pool was beautiful and clean.
We were able to stay in two different rooms. The first room was not so nice but we were transferred to another room with was a lot better.
- Michael (2/5): - Check in time is 2pm but we were able to have our room at 3:12pm. Poor service and the staff at the counter has a sense of entitlement.
Wifi connection is poor.
Won't recommend it for travelers.
- Evelyn (10/5): - I like this hotel. Very accommodating and very friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Did not get the class of room booked. Complained then after some time they moved us but the room mscwere at back of hotel and not nice Disappointed!
- Rick (10/5): - Great hotel and staff ,looked after us well.nice gym nice pool and walking distance to shopping mall
- David G. (10/5): Palawan Adventure - I slept really good in the bed (I usually have problems sleeping), good location too
- Jetsetter (10/5): - Popular hotel with alot of banquets and weddings. It can be a little busy at times. Very attentive to any requirements.
- Darren (8/5): - Nice hotel. Good breakfast. Great location for Robinson.
- Verna (8/5): - The room that i stayed in was a lot bigger than i expected considering the price i paid.
The staff were friendly and room service was fine.
- Jetsetter (10/5): - Always a pleasurable stay. Great pool. Very good breakfast and coffee.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No hair dryer, no shaving kit. Lousy breakfast. mini ref you need to ask still even if it's included in your room details. Only lampshades serve as the main lights; no ceiling or wall lights.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok for one night only - The breakfast wasn't good and the room is very old fashioned , the stuff was friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff. Very helpful. Awesome place to stay
- fids (6/5): Good hotel for the price - Good stay for the price. Except the wifi is terrible. Otherwise comfortable to stay in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel is close to downtown, easy access to public transportation.staff are very helpful.excellent front desk service.
- Giselle (10/5): - Good location and amenities. Hotel and room are spacious.
- Ron (8/5): Close to the airport, good price, friendly - This hotel was recommended to us by a local working at th airport. Quick pickup on their shuttle, friendly staff, good facilities for business meetings and events even though we were just staying overnight between flights. Excellent breakfast which was opened to us 40 min early as we had a 6:00 am flight, i and then a quick shuttle back to the airport.
- Vren Johann (6/5): - Hotel was okay overall. Pros: walking distance to Robinsons Mall and other fastfood chain like Jollibee and others.
Staff were quite nice and helpful.
Hotel is clean.
Airport transfer is free-of-charge to and fro.
(though the hotel is 10 to 15 minutes away from the airport).
Cons:
The room that we got had a door that wasn"t properly sealed. Door had big gaps. You can literally peek through its gaps.
Room is infested with lots of mosquitos. Was able to kill five of it.
Towels in the toilet were clean but old. Looks like it were bought from another hotel that bsrgained its used towels.
No slippers provided in the room.
Water pressure is strong but not good in the sense that the water from the faucet goes to all directions.
Food in the breakfast room wasn't up to the standard. Dried fish, longganisa, salad that doesnt look so fresh. We just took the bread.
For the price, you couldn't really complain.
There is a Jollibee next door which actually is a better option for breakfast.
- Jojo K (8/5): Relaxing nights in Citystates Asturias Palawan - I was billeted in the new rooms at the annex. The room is superb! linens and matress are so comfy. Better far from their old rooms in front. Breakfast is ok. Resto offers buffet for only 350 per head. The is ok but needs some retouchings of their tiles and floorings. Totally I like this hotel. I will definitely staying there everytime i will visit Palawan.
- Jake (10/5): - Really nice hotel. Very quiet whilst we were there so very relaxing
- cindy (2/5): not good experience - its like century old rooms, we were put to the farthest room there is, despite my request for a closer room to the civilization. the shower is no good, when u take a shower the whole bathroom is wet, bec the showerhead doesnt stay in one place. the breakfast buffet is terrible there is only 2 choices of food, the staff is not very helpful either. i will not go back or reccommend this hotel to any of my friends.
- June (6/5): Nice hotel close to the mall - Nice and friendly staffs. Pool is very good. Free wifi. Far from the city traffic but close to one of the big mall. Just in the edge of the city where it is easy to go to the tourist destinations. Hotel can also book tours.
- jreg (4/5): unfriendly staffs - so bad - the hotel only looks good at pictures and staffs are unfriendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable and easy access around town. Close to mall and bus station. Spent two nights here no issues would definately stay again.
- Stephen (8/5): Peace Amid The Noise - The hotel was situated in a good location. It was very central to a good shopping precinct where you were able to buy most things. The hotel was very good at arranging tours and sightseeing and they were very well priced.
The city centre and airport could be walked providing the heat doesn't bother you and you have some time to spare. Many interesting things to see. The traffic was awful.
- eleanor (4/5): - Room smelled like the previous occupants. They were asked to clean it but didn't make a difference. They could at least offer a different room.
- Belen Z. (6/5): Disappointed - a little disappointed. I have stayed in this hotel many times before (was new then), with family, alone, with husband! I did not mind the construction near the hotel. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Upkeep was a DISAPPOINTMENT
- Verified traveler (8/5): little bit noisy - The room was beside the hotels ongoing renovation. It was a little bit noisy. The stay was nice
