- Doreen (6/5): Mrs - Breakfast was great Housekeeping was a weak link
The rooms were not particularly clean
The towels were dull
- Shahimi (8/5): Small and Cozy - Rooms are clean, staff friendly and breakfast was good. They called me in my room and told me check out time was 11am. I asked to let me stay till 12pm and they accepted.
- Yinkore (3/5): Air-conditioner or central Air-conditioner not working - The hotel do not worth the money 😒 Nothing
- ANTHONY (9/5): - All good All is good
- Victoria (10/5): Quiet wonderful stay. - The breakfast and dinner buffet was good with a variety of selections. We were able to try out Nigerian dishes. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. There was an issue with the water warming up, but as soon as we let them know, they fixed it. The à la carte menu prices are almost as high as the buffet, forcing one to just have the dinner buffet.

- Bam (9/5): Excellent one night stay - My Family recently spent a night at the Protea Hotel, conveniently situated near the airport. The proximity made my travel plans seamless, allowing for a quick check-in and check-out. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring a comfortable stay. We had a delicious breakfast, which offered a variety of options to satisfy our appetite The room was well-maintained, providing a restful environment for my brief visit. Overall, the experience was positive, making it an excellent choice for anyone needing a convenient overnight stay close to the airport. There was nothing to dislike. The only aspect that stood out was the bittersweet feeling of having to leave, as I wished I could have stayed longer to enjoy the amenities and comfort. Overall, the experience was quite satisfactory, with no significant complaints to recall.
- IYENNOMA (10/5): - Great ambience.
- Femi (7/5): Good place to stay - Customer service was Excellent Facilities due for a refresh considering the cost/ pricing of rooms.
- nana adwoa (5/5): - The washroom looked old and not sparkling clean, especially the shower floor and the walls of the shower. When I arrived, the reception was average. The one who escorted me was pleasant. But the staff at the reception needs to be more receptive. The breakfast staff who had to fry egg were not too pleasant.
- Sani (8/5): -
- Etulan (9/5): Exciting stay. - The location and proximity to the international airport as well as the Shoprite Shopping Mall nearby makes it an excellent choice for me.
- Falode (10/5): Excellent - Superb Nothing
- Isaac (10/5): - Impressive service from staff. Great dining options. Easy access to shopping and services. Driver available if needed.
- Tunde (7/5): Enjoyed the short stay, but some of the facilities like the pool could be better. - The stay was comfortable and the staff made extra efforts to be friendly and helpful. We were placed in a lower room than we paid for - it was most probably an honest mistake we believe.
- IYENNOMA (10/5): - Great stay.
- Juan Carlo (7/5): Good stay at Ikeja, though already dated hotel - The hotel is well located in the Ikeja area. It's conveniently close to the airport, business areas, and shopping centers. The room was comfortable overall. The breakfast was good (though not so varied). Most of the staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous at all times. I liked the daily provision of coffee, tea, and water. Some of the furniture is already dated or visibly damaged (like the wardrobe, the wooden frame of the bathroom, the curtain rods). The pillows were too soft for my liking and seemed already very tired. The provision of towels was inconsistent; at times I was having hand towels, other times big body towels only. Something I found really strange is that the side lamp was connected to the spotlights right over the bed, so the purpose of having a warm, indirect light not hitting the eyes was completely defeated.
- Olumuyiwa (7/5): Good -
- Adekola Billy (6/5): - There should be improvements in the room
- Jideofor (8/5): Very good -
- Femi (3/5): Poor - Helpful and friendly staff. Always willing to go above and beyond. Old facility, a/c doesn't work consistently, beddings were sometimes dirty, tv channels hardly worked.
- Samuel (8/5): - Perfect
- Aby (7/5): Good -
- Saeid (5/5): Passable - Location since I was there for business. Outdated hotel. Old room. Bad food
- David (7/5): Good -
- Etulan (8/5): Very good -
- Olubunmi (8/5): A great experience - Location Beddings
- Oputa (1/5): Bad -
- Evans (3/5): Poor -
- Bukola (8/5): - The staff were very pleasant and always ready to help with requests. The property could do with some upgrade. However, the security getting into the property was pleasing.
- Vivek (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ayodamope (8/5): - Na
- France (2/5): Underwhelming. - Staffs were very welcoming. Poor continental dishes choice!
Unstable Wi-Fi! I used my personal Wi-Fi the entire stay.
Poor TV entertainment channels! Poor quality!
Musty, suffocating smell in the corridor on the 1st floor.
Not a very clean room (115)
- Alban (8/5): Very good -
- Umesh (8/5): Very good -
- adamu (8/5): - The staff are outstanding and accommodating. The cooks is five star in Lagos .
- Verified traveler (4/5): Renovation needed!!! - Hotel is in need of a serious upgrade
- George (10/5): - Great place! Friendly staff and comfortable room.
- SUNDAY (4/5): - Y
- Kemisola (7/5): It was great - The staff were cordial and polite The hotel was pricey based on the name but it requires improvement. They should work on refurbishing the rooms
- Jerone_Vessels (10/5): We always come back to our family! - We have stayed at Protea Ikeja in the past and were happy to return for multiple nights on our visit to Nigeria this time.
The most amazing asset of the Hotel is the staff. They are so warm and welcoming, from the cheerful and accommodating front desk team to the great restaurant crew, housekeeping and the support staff. And the General Manager Margaret has always greeted us warmly each visit. Everyone was there to help!!
We love this hotel because of the nice rooms and facilities, but mainly because we feel like we are at home with family.
We will return soon!!
- Oyinlola (8/5): Really great stay and though a single woman travelling, felt totally safe. - The staff were brilliant and went out of their way to make me feel right at home in the hotel. Exceptionally attentive and courteous. The breakfast was amazing and the chefs are wonderful- stuffed myself each night!
- Cyprian (6/5): - The hotel needs to do proper maintenance. Everything appears to be expired. From beds to room chairs etc
- Oyekanmi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthonymutwiri (10/5): Exceptional -
- BDO (8/5): Functional Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos - Functional Hotel in the heart of the Ikeja area of Lagos. Please leave the hotel early on a working day to got to the airport (which is very close by, but teh traffic is quite high)
- Ehi (7/5): Good -
- Margaret (9/5): Superb -
- Sunday (10/5): - Execellent
- Chidi (6/5): Needs improvement - Close to the airport Not very clean and facility was average in terms of food and staff professionalism
- Tunji (10/5): - Great experience
- Ashade (6/5): The staff made sure we had a pleasant stay and I appreciate them for going the extra mile for us. - The flexibility of the kitchen staff and their ability to get breakfast ready at 4am.
The staff (except those at the gate) are so nice and helpful.
The room and lobby always smelled nice. The men at the gate were rude and unfriendly.
I pre-booked online using booking.com and was supposed to pay in euros on arrival. I ended up paying more than the amount on my booking.
The toilet was flooded after using the shower because the glass that stops water from spreading out of the shower area is broken or has been removed.
- Rasheed (10/5): Eleven nights in a good hotel in a good location - The manager attended to all my requests. Due to my long stay, she also offered me free dinner tickets for 3 nights. All the staff members were very professional and helpful. I also like the location of the hotel. N/A
- David (7/5): it was pleasant - Breakfast had fewer options More options on breakfast
- Herschelle (3/5): Poor management and poor facilities. - The location is close to the mall, and the staff were friendly. After booking well in advance and double checking my booking the week before arrival, our rooms were still double booked. We arrived at 22h30 and were only able to enter our rooms at 02h00. These rooms were not the rooms we paid for but were the only ones they could manage to provide. The rooms were dirty, and the bedding was damp, not dry at all. Therefore, we had to wait for another hour before receiving proper bedding. The facilties weren't great, the swimming pool was out of order and had no water in, the wifi was really poor and we received no room upgrades until the last day. They were also not willing to refund us for having us staying in cheaper rooms than we paid for. The gym isn't well maintained at all and has a terrible smell. Overall, we did not enjoy our stay. On a positive note, the restaurant and room service staff were very friendly and attentive.
- Noo (9/5): Good option, not far from the airport - Friendly staff, good breakfast and lunch; safe and convenient location, very close to the Ikeja mall and not too far from the international airport. Good wifi. The lobby doesn't have a large enough lounge area to hang out in if you've checked out and are waiting for an evening flight. The dining room is comfortable but I would've liked somewhere with more sofas and coffee tables. However, the hotel's positive qualities outweigh this drawback. I'll definitely stay here again.
- Florence (5/5): I won't be back - Breakfast was good and restaurant staff friendly Dated, it needs refurbishing in the rooms. Grand nice entrance but dated room and quite small
- Oluyemi (8/5): Very good - Good everonment and food is nice Everything
- Ije (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharday (2/5): - Needs overhaul. Can you just maintain that property
- Charles (8/5): Very good -
- Ayotomiwa (4/5): Basic and not a 4 star hotel - The food wasn’t great, also very few options
Rooms are not soundproof. Came back to the room on Friday evening to very loud music playing from around the pool area and it didn’t go off till past 10 pm.
The TV channels were not clear.
- Vincent A (4/5): Disappointed. - They fell short on quality- could not flush toilet after uses.
- Umoh (3/5): Poor - Breakfast was nice Infestation of cockroaches.
Non working air-conditioned. I had to change room twice in one day
- Muzi (5/5): Passable - not bad Cleanliness be improved, towels dirty and quantity
- Michael (6/5): - The property seem to lack proper management, well trained staff and able to supply customers their need including towels rationing, late room clean up and much more
- Nokulunga (5/5): Passable - Helpful staff. Bedding not changed for the days being there.
- Maipelo (2/5): I will not come back gain because of poor hygiene - Staff very friendly The rooms are smelling especially the bathrooms they are smelling urine very badly. The carpet on the corridor terribly dirty and smelling it’s bad
- obofoni (10/5): - My stay was very pleasant. The wonderful staff made my stay memorable. From the receptionists to the bar men and those in the dining side, thanks. I will be back.
- Zabina (4/5): Disappointing - How close it was to our event. Friendly staff. Dated furnishings, not enough towels provided (one each) Bed was horrible. Over priced for nothing. I chose this hotel because it was Bonvoy Marriott.
- Emeonye (1/5): Bad - Nothing Everything
- Audley (10/5): Great -
- Ahouassa (5/5): Passable -
