Jen (6/5): If this is the most economical choice, it’s fine.it wont be the most comfortable choice - It was a good location for what I needed. They rely very heavily on the fact that it’s a historical building - pretty sure the carpets are from 1960. And rather than make the building comfortable (eg leveling the floors, or adding sound-dampening insulation) - they remind guests of the ‘charm of last century’ was really just noisy and awkward. (It is possible to have level floors in a historical building, and comfortable carpeting)

Bethany (10/5): - My room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the staff was kind and pleasant. This is always my favorite place to stay whenever I visit Vermont. The only thing I wasn't super crazy about was my room location; it was right at the top of the stairs, which meant I heard everything and everyone as they went up and down the stairs. A minor issue, in my opinion.

JimRyan (9/5): A great old style Hotel... - I like the staff, they were very friendly and communicative. From location that's really nice what's it wrong yesterday in the area. My speech to text it's not working right now. I give you a voucher which can be used at two different places just down the street for breakfast. I think the cut off time is 11:00 am. The voucher is worth $4.50. Of course breakfast anywhere is at least $10.00 so it helps.
Saburo (7/5): Old-world charm, great service, and fair prices, with some dated comforts. - The history behind this hotel and its era are fascinating. It's like a living museum to the era when rail travel was the common mode of transportation. I could see traveling salesmen or early businessmen stopping by a hotel like this. They may or may not have had electric light and running water in each room, or may have had to share facilities with neighboring guests. The mind can travel back in time in a building like this. With all its charm and history, and the excellent service and reasonable pricing, the historical charm does bring with it its age. The floorboards creak, electrics are outdated, and sink layouts are unusual. While I was staying, the parking lot was on its last days prior to being repaved, and the path to the hotel was extremely dark (and on that day, cold and wet). There were some motion-sensor lights but they didn't activate until after I had found my way with my phone 'flashlight'.
Theodore J (5/5): Okay value, central location, facilities run down - In it's day the hotel must have been really grand and still has character in a nice little corner of the town. Mattress was okay. Coffee service, too. Today it is rundown and could use a couple of coasts of fresh paint; kind of depressing to see such an old place that is not being maintained properly.

Tatiana (10/5): Amazing! - It was a charming place. definelty well preserved, the staff were very nice and helpful. They also provided us with a voucher to get a discount at a cafe for breakfast. It was absolutely wonderful! Very very small town, with not a whole lot to do.

Je pensais que la ''suite'' serait plus spacieuse... 1 chauffage d'appoint (radiateur électrique à brancher) dans la chambre alors que dehors il faisait 9 degrés mais pas dans la salle de bain, ni dans l'autre pièce. Le chauffage s'est déclenché vers 21h mais n'est pas resté en fonction toute la nuit (p-e juste 1 ou 2 heures...)
Wander Women (10/5): - We've stayed 4 times at this hotel, and rooms are like stepping back in time, unique. Fun to walk around the building and imagine the hustle and bustle of its past. We're hoping that next time we visit, we can stay longer to enjoy local food and entertainment

J1391AMpaulc (10/5): Clean older hotel in White River Junction - Booked this hotel last second as a place to stay closer to the ski area I planned to go to. It is an older hotel but don't let that scare you. It is clean, quiet, and a short walk to some great food options in White River Junction. Easy to get to and has off street parking. Second time I stayed here and will look to stay here again in the future.

susan (9/5): Historical, charming and friendly. - This is a hotel from another era. I enjoyed the change from modern hotels. It was relaxing rather than distracting. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were lovely. The toilet was a little low for me, as I’m tall.
BostonRedandgreen (10/5): Charming, historical, friendly. - The Coolidge is an historical, cool hotel. It probably hasn’t changed much in 60 years, but that is part of the charm. I only stayed for one night, as was seeing a play at The North Stage ( 2 minute walk away), and it was not only well located but fun. The staff, cleanliness, coffee and local restaurant selection were great. No issues, but as I said, it’s old.
Terry1297 (10/5): Great experience, we’ll be back. - Our 5 th time at the Coolidge! Our main event is to snow shoe nearby. Very clean and cozy room and a memory foam mattress. We choose you for the great location. Enjoy eating at the Tuckerbox, Cappadochia and shopping at many thrift shops nearby. The fireplace and large screen TV is ideal to watch the Olympics. We’ll see you next February Tom!

Kiteguy (10/5): Very nice stay for an evening - It’s a classic New England hotel. Room included a separate sitting room with refrigerator. Gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. I spent awhile just reading and relaxing in front of the fire in the main lobby. My wife read in the sitting room where I later joined her for a glass of wine. There was also an interesting exhibit about living in Japan that the owner’s wife experienced. Would definitely stay here again if coming through the area. Received a coupon for breakfast discount down the street.

John (8/5): Great stay with great History. - We booked this property for its history and its location. The hotel is wonderful, back in time wonderful. It felt like we were in a time warp, which was what we were looking for in this NE foliage tour. It is certainly not big corporate lodging, so expect the what was offered decades ago.. Clean... comfortable ... Excellent dining in walking distance.

ROBERT (10/5): See this historic hotel for yourself - My grandfather worked on the Boston and Maine railroad till he died in 1947. He would stay at this hotel. So I had to see it and stay. I was not disappointed. At 149 years old she still is wonderful! . Don't miss this gem . Nothing.
Andrea (8/5): Overall, would recommend. - Beautiful historic hotel located in the downtown area. Great location to walk around and have dinner. Vouchers for a local restaurant were nice in lieu of breakfast. Room was bright and bed was comfortable. There was some water damage on the ceiling of our room, and the hallways were very dimly lit. Otherwise, very pleasant stay!

Maxine (7/5): Convenient place to stay in WRJ. If you need to leave early, e.g., by 0630 the food selection is nil - There is no breakfast. I saw a coffee maker. The furniture is too large for the room. I had to scoot around an oversized chair to get to the bathroom. I had to wait for the desk attendant to arrive from errands so that I could check in.

charlotte (10/5): Hotel was exactly what we expected and we would certainly return. - Vintage building with its own character. Front desk staff were real and personal. Rooms were very comfortable. Air conditioning was not working well in our room. We didn’t complain as the weather was not too hot.

Pamela (10/5): Clean comfortable convenient location good service great value. - Convenient location - good restaurants nearby. Very helpful staff. Clean large room. Had all the basics. Great value for the money. Parking can be a hassle when the property is fully booked. The hotel has its own parking lot behind the front entrance, but sometimes it gets full. When this happens, you have to park in a public lot a few blocks away. If the parking spaces in front of the hotel are full when you are checking in or departing, you wind up having to make several trips back and forth with your luggage between the hotel and the public lot where you are parked.
David (10/5): Great fun! Books! Overstuffed chairs! - Hotel Coolidge is coming on its centenary. The facility is huge, old, and VERY cool. We had a larger suite-type room at the top of the stairs. Comfortable chairs and TV, large windows and a nice view of the river. They're challenged by the facility's age, but do a wonderful job. If you want a cookie cutter hotel on an interstate bypass, this is not your spot. If you like charm, character and a VERY comfortable bed, at reasonable rates, find this place! When I left my phone in my room, they tracked us down to alert us (we had already checked out). Nothing. It was terrific!

The restaurant and bakery/cafe are superb! Definitely go to places for dinner and for breakfast. Food is Mediteranian style Turkish cuisine. The coffee and lattes and desserts and drinks are spectacular as well. The Hotel Coolidge is an historic hotel. It has lots of nooks and crannies, period furniture/ bathrooms. I love the history and don't mind the kitsch.

Horne (10/5): ++ Historic Coolidge Hotel ++ - Location, staff, comfortability, lobby lounge with fireplace and seating, assortment of games/books. Kurieg in lobby for teas & coffee. It's an old hotel so be ready for uneven floors, creaking floors, and steam radiator heating. We stayed end of December and were quite comfortable. Took a couple of tries to adjust valves for radiators. I grew up on steam heat so clanking and knocks from pipes didn't bother me. Staff very friendly and professional. Voucher for local breakfast was a plus. When all restaurants were closed, there was an assortment of fruits, pasties, and cookies available in the lobby lounge. In the heart of downtown White River Junction. Only issue was the main elevator wasn't working.

BDurhamNC (2/5): Never again - While the bed was comfortable, I barely slept because of all of the street noise, noise from other rooms and the train sounds. When things are said to sound “like a freight train”, they indicate a really loud sound, and there are literally multiple freight trains going by very near the hotel regularly (including the one that woke me at 3:30 am), and they blow the whistle really loudly. Other noises that were related to a snowstorm were loud sounds of road plowing and also a machine that plows the sidewalks. I have hearing loss AND I slept with ear PLUGS and was still awakened many times. There’s virtually no sound insulation from outside noises nor inside noises. I could understand the conversation of people in the hallway. The place is also really run down, although there has clearly been an attempt to update some things like the new bathroom fixtures, but there are still plenty of things that show wear. One positive is that there’s a Keurig set up in the lobby so that I was able to get coffee at 4 am before leaving for home.
