Sal told us how to catch the trolley, and showed us the paths to the beach and a beautiful vantage point overlooking ocean! The price was quite a bit less than other hotels. The room was quiet, secluded, and perfect for our needs!

• V9567CYnatalies (10/5): Great location near beautiful beach at a great price - Had a great experience at the Crescent Bay Inn. I had stayed at a much more expensive hotel for the first two nights and needed a more budget friendly option for the last night. It's definitely a motel, not a fancy hotel, but if you get building C you will have a nice ocean view and the rooms are clean, well appointed and modern. But the real stars of the show are: 1. Cost---MUCH more affordable than most other options. 2. Management--the manager (owner?) was friendly and responsive to all my requests 3. LOCATION!!!! This motel is a short (1/4 mile? ) walk through gorgeous neighborhoods down to the most beautiful beach I have ever seen! No crowds, the most beautiful crescent shaped beach flanked by sheer cliffs and palm trees...just gorgeous! and it even had a lifeguard on duty! If you want to have a Laguna Beach experience at an affordable price, look no further!

• Jackie (3/5): Disappointing and smelly. - The girl in reception was very friendly and helpful. This was not what we expected. The sea view was over the top of buildings and trees and the balcony was the walkway in front of the room. No lifts so 1st floor involved lugging our luggage up stairs. The room was big and looked tidy but it had a very old, urine-ish smell to it. We didn't stay, we paid for a better place down the road.

• Melanie (8/5): Comfortable, well-located, friendly - beach nearby! - Sal was very lovely and friendly - I have no doubt that had we had issues, he would have resolved them. Location was great - just a short walk to the beach, stores and a couple of cafes. Bed was sooo comfortable- I slept incredibly well. Nothing in particular was negative. In hindsight I would have paid extra for a view, as we fell sick and so spent more time in the room than expected, but you cannot predict these things!

• Sierra (8/5): Clean, no frills hotel close to the beach with a safe and quiet atmosphere. - This is a basic no frills comfortable room with good parking, easy beach access, and friendly staff. The hotel manager was very helpful and attentative. We love Laguna and will stay here again.

• thepadgetts2016 (4/5): Give it a miss! - This was the final stay of a month long roadtrip. What a mistake. It is a very basic motel described as something much better. It's on the far end of Laguna beach and although the room appeared to be clean it smelt bad, I would say cleaning stuff over stale urine🤢 There is no elevator so heavy cases would have needed lugging up stairs and the 'sea view' was across the top of buildings and through trees. May be my fault for not checking it out properly but definitely not as described. We didn't stay, booked into somewhere else close by. On a plus, the young lady who was on the desk was lovely and helpful.

Sal and his family were so friendly and welcoming, giving us loads of tips on things to do. They went above and beyond to make our stay just perfect. The hotel is about a mile from the downtown area, so isn't really walkable. The owner, Sal, was a pleasure to meet and even gave us a tip on where to watch the sunset, which was a three minute walk from the hotel. Beach access was another easy three minute walk. The only ding was the complete lack of WiFi. Both of our phones could link to the provided network only sporadically. No big deal for us, but if you need a strong, consistent, WiFi signal for whatever reason, this isn't the place. Would definitely consider staying here again based on the room cleanliness and easy beach access. The WiFi sucked. The network only showed up sporadically and wasn't always available even after connecting to it. Not a deal breaker, but you should know this.

Staff was so friendly & went above & beyond showing us the pathway to the beach, which was a 3 minute walk, even offered to start the patio fire pit for us. Only down side, we had an oceanfront room & the trees needed to be trimmed to see the ocean, but I believe it’s a property in front of the view. We will definitely be back!

In room kuerig coffee, refrigerator and microwave with comfortable bed. Close to beach access, with no-cost beach towels to borrow and thoughtful outdoor shower for after-beach rinse. Nice quieter north part of Laguna. Host, Sal, was friendly, informative and helpful. Exceeded expectations of what had once probably been a simple motor lodge, now upgraded nicely. When I went to the office to let them know how unhappy I was , the wife was seething with hate and the owner blamed everyone else . The stairs going up to the room were dangerous and the walkway was old , rotted looking . It is called an inn , but there’s no food or drinks. The door to the lobby(if that’s what you could call it) was always locked . I felt unsafe. The owner was as rude as you can get, blaming me for picking the room, like I had a choice .

We had a quiet room with a little sliver ocean view and could hear the waves. Sal is really nice and helpful about the trolly to festivals and restaurant options. Good for a quick overnight or cheap weekly stay a short distance from the super crowded main beach area.

• Poes27 (6/5): It’s ok… - It’s a reasonably priced stay in an expensive area but could use improvement. The bathroom was good but the room was dark and dated. There was a smell of cleaner or something in our room which wasn’t great. It’s very close to the beach and the check in process was easy and friendly. It’s not the worst but I’m glad I only stayed one night.

I did not hear other guests coming and going . The front office staff was very friendly and accommodating he let us check in early. Gave great information on the area and how to get around easily (trolley schedule etc)
