- Curiosity57822095508 (2/5): BEWARE, NO CANCELLATIONS PERMITTED - We booked a reservation in January for July. In mid April we needed to cancel for personal reasons. This was 11+ weeks prior to the beginning of the stay. It was pointed out to us that this property has a no cancellation, no refund policy. This was never clear at booking so....BEWARE...I spoke to the proprietor and she was very clear, that even in the event of booking our room to others, we would not receive a refund....this is the hospitality industry?
- patellaOwensboro (8/5): Too many decorative pillows - The hotel was in a beautiful location. It was a little more worn than the pictures indicated but still nice. The one ‘complaint’ was that there two many decorative pillows. We had two pretty large suitcases. It got very crowded when there about 10 large decorative pillows on the two beds and sofa. However the view was great and the deck was enjoyable with plenty of seating.
- mjlawton (10/5): Gorgeous location! - This is our second stay in the Sea Breeze unit at Ocean House Inn (first time 4 yrs ago). Sunny was easy to communicate with and the unit was as nice as we remembered. The location is beautiful with a view off the deck, a hot tub and a fire pit. Given it was cold and rained most of the time we were there, the hot tub was much appreciated to warm us up. The sea breeze has one King bedroom and one with two queen beds. One bathroom. Spacious, clean and comfortable for 2 couples.

Great location and base for activities around Homer or simply relaxing on the patio, warmed by your private fire pit or watching eagles soar passed whilst relaxing in the heated jacuzzi. The charming rooms are well appointed with wonderfully comfortable beds. We were fortunate to have Room 5 (Captains Cabin) which offered great views and was very quiet. Very highly recommended.

The staff were fabulous and very helpful !!the location was breathtaking ! We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub in the evenings and the view in the morning . All of us were very pleased with the comfort of the beds and the bathrobes were very appreciated after the hot tub . We will definitely be back!
- MandyEK (8/5): Wonderful location - We stayed in the 3 bedroom condo. The location is fantastic: views are amazing, beach access is great, very close to the spit. Also, the grounds, hot tub, and fire pits were wonderful. Our unit was spacious and definitely enough room for 6 people. This unit is like a rental condo, just a texted door code, no front desk or anything, but check in was smooth and easy. We did feel the unit could use some freshening up (new carpet, paint, etc). Overall, a very nice stay.
- amylee2008 (10/5): Best place we stayed in Alaska - We stayed in room #3 on a recent trip to Alaska and the views were beautiful. One of the few king size beds we ran across and the linens and other amenities were great. Very low touch staff--no housekeeping for our two-night stay--but we had everything we needed. Plenty of coffee, nice fridge size, available glasses and nice bathroom amenities. The porch for this room was nice sized and had astonishing views of the mountains and water.

That was over a month ago and between me and my coworker she still owes us a $2800.00 refund and has gone radio silent. The owner left me a voicemail saying she would take care of it but has failed to follow up. Use caution when booking this hotel.
- Passport572843 (10/5): Amazing stay!!! - My parents and I stayed here in Superior Room Two for two nights and we were absolutely stunned by how lovely both the room(s) and property were! It was so great to have a comfortable two king bedroom suite with a door in between for the three of us. The suite was beautifully decorated and everything was so plush and comfortable. The hot tub was great and despite it being shared with all the other rooms, we were able to find times to squeeze in to ourselves. And the view from the property is just stunning! We were initially disappointed by not being able to find lodging on the spit and now I wouldn’t stay anywhere else! It’s a perfect location just in town with a great view of the water and the spit without being in the center of the touristy scene. And our host Sandy was so delightful and welcoming! We ended up having several lovely conversations with her and my parents even exchanged numbers with her. I had a few interactions with the cleaning staff and they were so friendly and helpful too. Now I won’t stay anywhere else in Homer!
- 567alises (2/5): Clogged Toilet and Rude Host - We had a very negative experience. The condo and location are gorgeous. The host/owner Sandy was confrintational and unwelcoming. This is definitely something nobody wants to deal with on their vacation. We got in around 8:15. We could not find heater. Sandy told us not to text her after 8pm and told us to leave the oven and fire on. We later found that the fireplace was electric thank goodness. At 10pm the toilet clogged, overflowed and toilet water was all over the bathroom floor. There was hardly any toilet paper in the toilet. We spent 45 minutes using the plunger in the condo but could not get it to unclog. It was 10:45 pm when we stopped trying and nobody was available to help. I had cleaning wipes with me to clean the floor but we were not able to use the toilet or shower until the following day. Sandy was very upset when we texted her in the morning about the toilet. She told us she thought we were an "elderly couple" that we "used to much toilet paper" and clogging the toilet was our fault. She told us we should have "double flushed". It was appalling how she spoke to us. We were paying $425 to stay in the condo and was shocked with her behavior and lack of accountablility for the maitenance of her rental. She later came into the condo to confront us about the toilet after her husband came to unclog the toilet. She told us we would be more comfortable in a hotel. At that point, we just wanted her to leave the condo and we wanted to leave as well. All of the hotels in town were full and we just wanted to enjoy the rest of the day in Homer. We have since asked for half of the first night stay to be reimbursed. The worse part was that we have traveled all over the world. We have stayed in many places, upscale and budget, but have never been spoken to this way by a host or owner. It was more upsetting to be treated so poorly than to try to unclog a toilet.
- 319cathyo (10/5): Wonderful hotel! - We stayed at the Ocean House Inn for 3 nights in late June and it was wonderful! The view is truly incredible, the room decor is great, and Sunny was very warm and helpful. It was our favorite hotel of our entire trip to Alaska!
- marywQ5348UJ (10/5): Great Stay! - We feel like we found a 'gem' booking Ocean House. Our room was beautiful and it was beautifully appointed -so welcoming and comfortable. We loved being 'tucked away' with the bay at our door. We stayed 3 nights and were very sad to leave. We stayed in Suite 4. Not only the view, the wildlife put on a show for us. What an incredible property to stay at. The owner and management was most accommodating and responsive. My daughter and family rented the Artik Suite/Condo. It was a perfect spot. **The website does not lie :o)
- mlecours99654 (10/5): Lecours family vacation - We took our large family on a vacation to Homer to celebrate a wedding and stayed at the Ocean House Inn. It was fantastic! The owner Sunny was very accommodating and the units were beautiful! We had 4 of their units total for our family. We stayed in the Beach Condo #6, the little Mermaid, #1, #2 and the Captain's Quarters. I highly recommend this place for any vacation. We will definitely be back!
- travelwhenIcan67 (10/5): great location, beautiful views from room and deck w/fireplace and HOT TUB - This place was a welcome last 2 night stop at the end of a very active 1st visit to Alaska with it's relaxing deck complete with fireplace and hot tub. stayed in unit 3: great for a couple, beautiful views from room/comfy King bed out to water. Yes, you can have people walking in front of your unit if on the ground level, but did not find it problematic.
- DayTrip809689 (10/5): Fantastic place to stay in Homer! - This was our first trip to Homer and we could not have picked a better place to stay. We stayed in #5, Captains Quarters, and loved it. The decor is stylish and comfy and the whole place was very clean. The host Sunny was nice, and we loved sitting out on the deck by the many fire pits watching the tides. You can technically walk down to the beach but it’s not an easy walk so we recommend heading over to Bishop’s Beach. The Ocean House Inn is in a great location for exploring Homer and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved exploring the Spit, traveling out East End Road, heading up to Skyline Drive, and doing a float plane trip out of Beluga Lake. We would love to stay here again and definitely recommend the Ocean House Inn.
- delaqu (2/5): Refused refund despite not being able to visit from UK during Covid-19 - Booked hotel with every intention to visit during the summer, but due to B. A. cancelling our flights to Alaska, the whole trip we'd been planning for months was off. Every other hotel, car hire company, ferry company, rail company in Alaska was happy to refund our deposit or full payment, apart from this one particular hotel. Despite several requests from me and booking.com, they still are refusing a full refund. Very disappointing.
- Albert (10/5): Fantastic Location and Views! - Stayed two nights in Suite #30. By far the best room in the house! Loved the private balcony overlooking the ocean. Saw bald eagles and people beach combing. Nice easy walk to the beach from the property. Beautiful landscaped grounds, amazing and friendly hosts. Can say any negatives about the place. The shared kitchen is big plus Dinning and living room are spacious. Gas grille was a plus as we cooked freshly caught halibut there. Highly recommend this place. We will be back!!

The views are absolutely amazing of the Spit and the Bay. You can't beat the location. Would stay here again if I return to Homer.
- Travels4Food (10/5): Cozy, Cute Inn with Great Views - The rooms were definitely smaller than I was expecting but they were very cute and cozy. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. And I liked that our room had lots of windows for natural light. The only thing that was a little funny was that our heater was on one side of the space but it had to heat the whole space...but my Dad likes the air a little cooler and me a little warmer, so I took the front room and him the back. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. It was simple to book online and then simple to check in (we got a text with the key code for the door). But the best part is that right outside the door is the water and views of the Spit!

The only thing was that maybe have another fire pit and to maybe put a canopy over the hot tub incase it rains, which in our case it did. But it was fabulpus and we will definitely visit again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful, quiet property w expansive ocean views - First trip after COVID started, and we decided on Alaska (hesitantly). We stayed at Ocean House based on reviews and photos. We had Suite 4, which was beautiful and exactly as pictured. The ocean view was extraordinary and downright inspiring, and the room furnishings were beautiful and cozy. Perfect for a couple looking for ultimate privacy. The owner communicated promptly with us by text with check-in instructions and a door code, so it was no contact (we were actually a little disappointed, hoping to connect with others after being on social lockdown for months, but I think with this being a condo type property, this is probably what they always do.) Due to COVID, there was also no housekeeping service. Wasn’t a big deal as we were only there for 2 nights, and the things we needed were supplied. Note that there are a number of stairs to climb to access certain rooms (#4 included) from the exterior entry (we had a couple of really heavy bags so this made checking in a bit of a struggle, but that’s my fault for overpacking- just be aware!) Despite being isolated (again, something I think most others would really enjoy- especially those on a romantic trip- but I was there with only my 8 year old son, so definitely a different vibe!), we thought the room was absolutely lovely and would go back again and stay at this property if ever in Homer. Close enough to Homer Spit and to town, and easy to find with GPS just off main highway. Recommended.

The kitchen is fully equipped, the living room has an electric fireplace that looks nearly like a real fire. The hot tub was always ready and the temperature comfortable. The views are Alaska stunning The location was convenient close to the spit, Safeway & several nice restaurants. The weekend farmers market is an easy walk. I highly recommend Ocean House****+
- Caesarmaxy (6/5): One of the better places in Homer. - We stayed 3 nights. Rooms are ok. Definitely thought it would be slightly nicer based off the pictures but didn’t matter since we were barely there. I wouldn’t call it an Inn. Nobody is there to greet you at check in and there is no main building. This is more of an Airbnb. They send you a code and you have the room for a few nights. Nothing wrong with that as we often rent Airbnb’s, it was just not what we expected considering the name. Best part was the balcony views. Considering options are limited in Homer, I would have to think about whether I would return or stay elsewhere. The thing I would like to point out is that we rented a two bedroom (only because we wanted the balcony) and it was small. There were only two of us and I cannot image sharing the space with another couple or kids. My husband and I were constantly moving around each other and our bags. I definitely think the space can be better organized and made much more comfortable by making it a one bedroom with a living space. If we spent more time in the room, I probably would have completely disliked the hotel. Definitely expected more for the price, especially considering it was $150/per night more than any other place in town. At the time we were willing to pay more for a “nicer” place but looking back, I probably should have saved money and booked something else.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice Inn great view - I booked this hotel based on the pictures and I was not disappointed. Driving to it you might think oh no but then walk around to the back and you'll love the view. The rooms are really cute, clean and the beds were great.
- G (10/5): Beautiful view! - Ocean House was the perfect place to stay for our 3 night visit to Homer. The rooms are rather small. So we used one bedroom for sleeping and one for our luggage and clothing. The extra sink in the bedroom was very helpful. Parking was very convenient and the view was spectacular!
- Whitsheep (10/5): "Beautiful Get Away, Beautiful Town, Great People” - The Ocean House is a fantastic place to stay while in Homer. The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable. The beds are especially nice. The deck is new, big and provides warming sun most of the day since it faces South. Very clean rooms with beds you don't want to leave in the morning. The Kitchen in our condo had everything needed to prepare homemade meals. With quality seafood so easy to get locally, you can save money and eat well with no fuss.. There are two high quality gas grills that do a great job on King Crab. The Ocean House is also conveniently located just off the spit so access to the grocery and downtown is easy. If you are planning an extended stay or overnight in Homer, you should consider the Ocean House. You will not be disappointed.

The rooms are decorated individually with charming furniture, the bed was very comfortable, and the views across the bay are perfect. Very pleasant hot tub with views across the bay and the Homer spit. Nice reception and check in. A great place to stay!

We had juvenile eagles right at the bluff of the property, a great fireplace in our room and a hot tub to relax in while watching the tide roll in and out!, I would highly recommend for a fantastic stay!

- Steve & Deb (10/5): - My husband and I had the pleasure of a little get away and were lucky enough to catch the Ocean House Inn during its last weekend of the season. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend at a place that was tastefully decorated, immaculately clean with the owners's parents closing out the season for them while the grandkids got back to school. The people we encountered were friendly and helpful contributing to the overall positive experience as weekend guests. We will certainly makes this a yearly get away at the end of the summer season which is our favorite time of year. I already recommeded the place with an easy ride to the spit to eat excellent food at Capatain Patties with whale watching a a part of the eating experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Homer Ocean Side Inn Review - We went during off season so got a cheaper rate than normal. We stayed 2 nights and it was very enjoyable. It's very close to the spit and downtown (we drove everywhere and were there in minutes). Even though there were 5 rooms in our building we didn't hear anyone else except from outside in the yard. Too often hotels have paper thin walls and you can hear kids running down the halls talking or screaming, this was very quiet. We stayed in a room with a king bed and it was very comfortable, it even had a memory foam cover that was 2 inches thick, I slept like a dead man. It is right on the beach and they have a hot tub so you can relax and stare out over the bay. They don't serve breakfast because they aren't a B&B or a bigger hotel, I'm not complaining but this site said to include amenities. We ate out anyway so this wasn't a concern for us. The room was very clean and you could tell when you walked in it had been cleaned recently. We had a slight problem with our reservation but the owner fixed it immediately and was very friendly about it. If I go back to Homer I will definitely consider staying there again if the price is right.
- Linda (10/5): Lovely inn on the ocean - We needed a place for a short overnight before heading to the airport in the early morning. We didn't need an ocean view. The room was very clean, well decorated, and a great night sleep on a king-size bed.
- Kim (8/5): Love Homer - Love that the room was right on the beach. Hated that the fence was higher than the beach chairs so when sitting outside we could not see the beach. TV had limited channels. Bed was comfortable and the view from the fence was amazing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful Location - This was a really pleasant stay for a couple of days. From a staff perspective this is a non-traditional place. They only have office ours from 4-6pm. Other than that we never saw them. I got the impression that it's run by a family that has other jobs as well. But they were extremely nice and we had everything we needed. The location is really lovely with a great view of the ocean and a couple of hot tubs to sit in while you look at it. The rooms were clean and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying on Homer.
- NANCY (8/5): Lovely spot overlooking the ocean - We stayed just one night but enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable as was the bed. The bathroom was spacious and spotless. The room decor was very nice and appeared to be recently updated. The property overlooks the ocean and there are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the view. Don't judge this hotel by its rustic tired exterior. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, spotless and well appointed. We especially liked the fact that this hotel is not located on the spit and is away from the traffic. A bit hard to find so call for directions. Highly recommended.
- Katherine (8/5): Comfortable enough but surprised ! - 3 nights in Sea Otter Room. Lawn was kept nice and hot tub and fire pit were available. Room is small with way too many pillows which you get creative stacking somewhere but basically get in the way. The bed did have a pillow topper, on top of a VERY soft mattress which made it feel like a " jello" bed. If you need anything close to firm, I would not advise. "Housekeeping" consists of emptying your garbage and replacing your towel.....that's it. Your bed is not made, the bugs which fly in the bathroom window ( because there is no screen) are not cleaned up, no new toiletries, ( you get one small bar of soap for sink and shower, plus one very large ( Costco size) shampoo bottle in corner of shower) . If you use the wine glasses, coffee mugs or drink tumblers they are not cleaned or replaced. After the second day I asked the teen at the front desk what's up she replied " you only get light house keeping but I'll wash those if you want" WOW... not exactly what i expected. Teen explained the owner wanted to spend time with her husband who recently returned from his oil rig job. Never met her. Beachview was gorgeous but understand the property butts up to a vertical seawall. To access the beach one needs to go down stairs, travel across neighbors property, climb down rocks to get to the sand/water. Not sure you want to do with young children, but play area ( swings ) are on the property. Room was quiet and plenty of hot water for your shower.

- Missy (10/5): Quiet, comfy place next to the water - If we ever make it to Homer again, we will definitely stay here again. The property was very quiet. The owners left you alone, but we always knew they were just a phone call away. Sunny was very friendly and personable upon check-in. The black out shades and comfortable bed provided several nights of much needed deep slumber. They provide light housekeeping, which means they take your trash and towels daily. Even though we didn't have time for the jacuzzis, the property has two and they looked very inviting. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I highly recommend this place. Look forward to coming back again sometime.

Had a lovely room with king size bed. Beautiful setting within walking distance to the beach. Hot tubs are nicely located. Great visit!

- brenda (8/5): Spectacular view! - We arrived after 6 pm, so our key was in an envelope on the office door as prearranged. We were upgraded to a lovely ocean view room with an awesome view. We had to climb 17 steps which would have been a problem if my husband hadn't been around to haul the big suitcases. I will remember to inquire about this in future. The inn was really conveniently located to our float plane dock, thel laudromat, the spit, and restaurants.
