Nous en avons eu pour quelques jours à en trouver dans nos valises, à coup de dizaines à chaque fois même si nous avions déjà fait un ménage en profondeur. La douche coulait par terre.

Atmosfera da sogno …una tranquillità a braccetto con i profumi e gli odori che pervadono ogni angolo questa struttura saprà regalarvi una sosta che sa di vera Sicilia. Se siete stati incuriositi dalle foto , avete finito la vostra ricerca . È questo il posto che state cercando e che non diventi perdervi . Io e la mia famiglia siamo venuti in vacanza in Sicilia e speravamo di trovare posti come questi . Un ringraziamento speciale va alla ragazza che ci ha accolto e accompagnato per tutta la serata esaudendo nel miglior dei modi ogni nostra richiesta. Ma sopratutto ad Argo e Kira. Due cani davvero eccezionali e di una bontà unica che hanno fatto compagnia a nostra figlia che non gli ha dato tregua neanche un istante. Spero veramente di fermarmi ancora da voi . Livello altissimo sotto ogni aspetto. Che siamo rimasti una sola notte . Saremmo voluti rimanere più a lungo . Ci è veramente dispiaciuto andare via

• Mattia (1/5): Deludente - Purtroppo, nonostante la struttura si presenti bene, abbiamo riscontrato un problema molto serio. Al nostro arrivo in camera, intorno alle 23:30, abbiamo trovato insetti, nello specifico zecche, prima nel bagno e poi anche in camera. La ragazza delle pulizie, molto gentile, si è subito preoccupata per noi e ha cercato di trovare un’altra sistemazione, ma onestamente non ci sentivamo a nostro agio in quella situazione. Ad oggi sto ancora aspettando di essere contattato dalla struttura per il rimborso che mi era stato assicurato.

• Arnold (10/5): Top. Absoluut een aanrader! - Je voelt je als in een Italiaanse film in Borgo del Carato. Rustig waaieren zachte muziekklanken over een romantisch binnenplein dat ‘s avonds dient als heerlijk restaurant terwijl onder eeuwenoude bomen gezwommen kan worden in het zwembad. Het ontbijt is lokaal, vers en uitgebreid en is gesitueerd in een prachtige ruimte. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk! Het hotel is sfeervol ingericht. Een fijne ervaring en mooie herinnering! Met de aandacht voor gezondheid en sport tegenwoordig mag er best een goede gym zijn.

• Magali (9/5): Une parenthese sereine et dépaysante - C’est un très bel établissement qui nous plonge dans l’ambiance Sicilienne. On entend les bruits de la nature, ça sent incroyablement bon, l’endroit est très reposant, très calme et ravissant. Le personnel est absolument charmant et s’applique à toujours s’assurer que nous ayons toujours tout ce dont nous avons besoin. Par ailleurs le dîner est très bon, de très bons mets italiens. C’était une très belle adresse pour démarrer notre séjour en Sicile.

• Jane (10/5): Beautiful location and buildings with lovely staff - A truly beautiful venue for a wedding, lovely staff, great food, very clean. A few little niggles in the room 3c, broken bathroom door handle and fridge not working but apart from that a wonderful stay and we stayed an extra night too. I can definitely recommend it.

• Christine Zammit (10/5): A magical stay - So quiet and surrounded with trees and nature. Food was excellent and staff was so nice. Cleanlines is also very evident. Dinner menu was a set menu but they changed it for us. Also when booking rooma indicate the no of guests in each room evwn though you boon a double, triple or quadruple room - you still have to indicate the no of guests. We were charged extra for booking a triple room for 3 guests and did not indicate it.

We had the best nights sleep in the comfy bed and were made to feel very welcome indeed. The relaxed atmosphere was the tonic we needed. Beautiful, characterful buildings and courtyard and an excellent swimming pool in a beautiful setting. The flowering plants and lemon trees were amazing too. Nothing it was perfect.

• INITALYDMC by DMC S.R.L. (5/5): DELUDENTE - Il contesto sicuramente è speciale. La struttura si trova nel mezzo della campagna in uno scenario direi surreale ma gradevole. Si vede che è una struttura vera, autentica. Il primo impatto non è stato dei migliori. Il navigatore ti porta davanti a un cancello chiuso e senza citofono. L'insegna è piccolissima e poco visibile. (arrivando di notte non si vedrebbe). Non sai cosa fare per accedere; uno dice "beh...chiamo"...NOOO...: i cellulari non prendono se non nella reception!!!! Nel 2024 è inaccettabile una cosa del genere. La storia della filosofia del relax, isolarsi, etc etc ha stancato: Io faccio l'imprenditore da 30 anni e se decido di isolarmi lo stacco io il telefono. No che se arrivo in un posto che vuole essere di livello per fare una telefonata devo spostarmi alla recepito. Ok il wifi, funziona abbastanza bene in tutta la struttura ma ognuno ha le proprie esigenze e se io devo chiamare mia madre 90enne non uso whatsapp perché lei non lo sa usare... Devo poter usare il telefono normale. In ogni caso, se c'è questo limite che viene sicuramente imposto (100 metri più avanti fuori dall'hotel, i cellulari prendono benissimo) me lo fai presente o lo scrivi a chiare lettere sul sito. Il personale....poco presente. La notte, dicono, che c'è un custode....: siamo rientrati due volte di sera intorno alle 23/00.00, mai visto nessuno in reception. All'arrivo nessuno viene ad accoglierti. Oltretutto non fanno entrare le auto nello spazio prima del cortile per scaricare o caricare i bagagli. Tra il parcheggio e le camere ci saranno almeno 200 metri con una bella discesa all'arrivo ma salita in partenza. Molto scomodo soprattuto alla partenza dover portare le valigie (da soli) alle auto parcheggiate fuori. Ovviamente non vi sono ascensori. Siamo partiti la domenica mattina verso le 10,00, per il check-out non c'era nessuno. Poi....: la colazione pessima..... 4 cose buttate lì, delle frittate sul tavolo alla mercé delle mosche.... Mi dispiace, sono del settore e mi dispiace fare recensioni negative ma non posso accettare certe cose. Sicuramente non manderei i miei clienti.

Colazione di buona qualità con molti prodotti fatti proprio in casa. WI.FI. buono Personale educato e disponibile. Avevamo prenotato una Camera Superior Matrimoniale ma ci hanno assegnato una stanza con meno dotazioni di quelle elencate sulla prenotazione di booking (mancava la cassaforte, il bollitore/macchinetta del caffè, neanche una abatjour sul comodino ed un arredamento veramente minimal). La cena prenotata nella struttura si è rivelata deludente sia per quantità che per qualità (in rapporto al prezzo pagato - 45 euro p.p. bevande escluse) e nonostante avessimo indicato le 20,30 come orario della prenotazione, ci hanno fatto attendere (come molti altri commensali), iniziando a servire le portate ben oltre le 21,15 Un suggerimento: considerata la varietà dell'utenza, sarebbe opportuno stabilire delle regole per l'utilizzo della piscina comune.

• DAVID (10/5): - A truly delightful stay. Borgo del Carato is beautifully restored, and located in beautiful surroundings. The first thing that struck us is how the air is rich with the scent of orange and wisteria blossom and the garden in the morning full of birdsong. The team were all friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to make our stay smooth and comfortable. And the food is delicious, with an excellent breakfast (the cakes deserve special mention) and a superb five course evening meal made of fresh local ingredients. Overall we couldn’t be happier with our stay. My only regret is that we only booked for two nights - I would love to come back for longer.

We did not know that our stay was at the very end of the season, so some of the listed amenities (particularly horses and dinner) were not available. I would have elected to stay regardless but it would have been nice to know in advance.

Close to several of Sicily’s hot spots in the south east. The pool is a great place to start or finish the day, or even spend the whole day there.

Emanuela simpaticissima.... Siamo arrivate e nella zona piscina c'era solo un lettino e nessuna sedia su cui stare. il centro benessere un pò spartano. la doccia emozionale è una normale doccia. per andare al centro benessere devi uscire nella piazzetta del borgo.
• Paolo Maria Giuseppe (10/5): Bellissimo borgo siciliano immerso nella campagna tardo barocca - Da mezzo siciliano e spagnolo abbiamo deciso con la mia famiglia di scoprire un po’ la Sicilia dell’interno. Il Borgo è stupendo, la vera Sicilia, si respira aria di storia, molto tranquillo per chi vuole riposare e rilassarsi, punto super a favore che si può soggiornare con i propri cani. Ci è stata data una camera standard con rifinitura standard per via dei nostri cani che viaggiano con noi ma al check out vista l’educazione dei nostri cani ci hanno assicurato che la prossima volta avremo potuto occupare anche una superior, torneremo con molto piacere. La piscina è sicuramente il plus del Borgo, si può utilizzare durante alcuni mesi primaverili e in estate. Una ragazza molto gentile ci ha accolti prima dell’orario previsto per il check in e ci ha dato lo stesso la camera che era già pronta (ottimo dettaglio) e la ragazza che gestisce la sala ristorante, Emanuela, ci ha trattato come dei “re” ogni momento (ci ha preparato un aperitivo con delle bruschette nel salone con il camino acceso e una buona bottiglia di vino rosso, che meraviglia)! Nel salone un signore si prende cura dei camini e della musica jazz, elegante e sofisticata che coccola i clienti. Colazione varia e fresca con prodotti salati (freschi, come il rotolo di spinaci, buonissimo) e dolci (ciambella di arancia, buonissima). Cibo dei menu del ristorante ottimo, fresco e vario ogni giorno. La struttura è veramente una perla del mediterraneo nella zona del tardo barocco siciliano. Deve piacere il tipo di esperienza perché è un posto stupendo da incanto ma un po’ isolato e questo a mio avviso crea la bellezza e il punto a favore del Borgo. La prenotazione con le nostre richieste è stata genetista molto bene in ogni momento. Credo ci siano pochi posti che esprimano la Sicilia così bene, almeno attraverso della struttura. Un bel progetto della Sicilia che piace. Solo dei consigli da “addetto ai lavori”. Qualcosa da migliorare c’è come ad esempio qualche finitura nelle camere standard (ci è stata data questa tipologia per via dei nostri cani); qualche info all’arrivo su dove si è arrivati, come un welcome info kit sulla zona e la storia del Borgo (in camera c’è un foglietto illustrativo) ci sarebbe piaciuto e ci sarebbe stato anche d’aiuto (ma ho chiesto e mi è stato spiegato qualcosa su una riserva naturale vicino che poi purtroppo non abbiamo potuto visitare perché vietata a visitatori con animali a seguito), se scegli un posto come questo paradiso immerso nella natura si dovrebbe presentare in un certo modo all’arrivo degli ospiti (ma questa è solo la mia opinione o quello che mi aspettavo). Certi particolari fanno la differenza: a colazione il succo di arancia era confezionato, in Sicilia mi sembra “riduttivo” e in una struttura così bella ancora di più! Un bollitore e qualche tisana in camera farebbe la differenza anche in una camera standard (abbiamo chiesto e ci è stata servita ogni sera delle tisane, servizio a pagamento). Bisognerebbe puntare un po’ di più sul calore siciliano dell’accoglienza.

La piscine et l’environnement sont très agréables. Les hôtes sont adorables et se mettent en quatre pour vous rendre service. La chambre était spacieuse avec juste un manque de miroir dans la chambre. Ns avons passé un séjour de 3 jours très très agréable avec un bon rapport qualité prix

Our apartment was amazing and as for the courtyard, words are not enough. We ate there both evenings simply because the atmosphere was magnetic, the food great and Santo was a gem. We loved his sense of humour and amazing hospitality. Not a place we will ever forget. It was a privilege to be swept up in Borgo del Carato' s absolute charm.

• los (8/5): beautiful hotel - This is a beautiful set up, a former carob farm in the Sicilian countryside converted to a hotel and spa. It is like a film set, its stunning. We had a lovely stay here. My criticism would be that the room was not as smart as I expected. The shower curtain was mouldy, one of the lights did not work and although spacious, our room had nowhere to sit. It would have been nice to have a balcony or an area to just sit and appreciate the surroundings. The staff are lovely and help wherever they can. There is a spa but it did not seem to be really functioning. The hotel should put more info in the rooms about the treatments on offer, the costs and timings etc. It's a lovely place and needs to promote itself more to its guests.

• beago (10/5): Fabulous hotel. - Superb hotel in a lovely location.our room was huge situated on the second floor,with views across the fields.there is only 15 rooms in this old converted farmhouse,so most of the time we had the pool to ourselves.the food was quality and plenty of it and nothing was too much for the staff if we needed anything.we were part of the family which included playing with the dogs and birthday parties.on the middle week end we were invited to a family birthday party at the hotel.a fantastic evening.on our last day we had a few hours to wait for our flight,but the manager said there was no rush we could leave when we were ready.fantastic holiday,lovely people,marvellous location.

Great food and an amazing pool. You will not want to leave. I wish more people would create such an experience.
• Rebecca (10/5): Peace, Quiet, Character and Charm - This year we visited Borgo del Carato four times. The second we walked in on our first visit and feasted our eyes on its charming courtyard, the beautiful dining hall and lounge and the magnificent pool we knew it was the perfect place for us to get married. This is an old hamlet, tastefully and carefully restored and run as a sort of boutique hotel by its wonderful owner, Luigi, who works extremely hard to ensure that all his guests have a pleasant and relaxing stay. It is located in the middle of nowhere, with only the sounds of the cows, goats and horses in the surrounding farms interrupting the silence, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. Chef Alessio is creative and obliging, and our lunches and dinners there were always mouthwatering. We left our wedding dinner for 84 guests on his capable hands and we were blown away- nothing but complements for this talented young man. The rooms are beautifully done up whilst maintaining many of the original features and they are comfortable, with good quality mattresses ensuring a great night's sleep. the staff are polite and helpful, including one particular waitress, Giusi, whose patience and care were commendable. Nothing but praise for this wonderful little gem that we are so fortunate to have discovered. We look forward to visiting each year.
• Susan (8/5): Updated upscale villa in peaceful countryside. - This is an amazing setting and facility out in the hills up from Siracusa. The 1500 year old structure has been redecorated and is undergoing additional refurbishment. It seems to be run by a family and they had a wedding booked for one day of our stay. We arrived late evening and they treated us very hospitably. Our room was spectacular wth a general seating area outside the door that we essentially had to ourselves. Bathroom facilities were great. Weather was very hot but A/C worked well. We chose to eat here because it was removed from a central location, which we preferred. Food was very good, charming staff. Pool lovely and refreshing. Parking fine: we felt safe out in the country.

• Holly (8/5): Beautiful converted manor house - If you like converted old buildings in beautiful peaceful surroundings, you won't be disappointed. No a la carte menu, but the chef is excellent and the food delicious.
• Steve &Lyssa (10/5): A stunning Hotel in a most beautiful part of Sici - It is very early days for this hotel ,it opened in Sept 2014 , but what a place , stunning rooms with breathtaking views, fantastic spa and gym , the evening meal and wine was a delight as was the breakfast . The bedrooms are all in keeping with the rest of the period building , but with modern heating and barthrooms .
