- Barbara (5/5): Had reservations for the whole family to stay there next month, but I have canceled and moved to another location - Location Definitely needed to be updated. Cracked tiles in our bathroom. Stained carpet, walls and trim very stuffed up and it needed paint. It didn’t even have an ice machine on our floor. We have a refrigerator in our room, but the icemaker didn’t work. We checked out at 6:30 AM and no one was there so we put our door keys in the box on the front desk. Around 11 AM I get a charge on my credit card again. I called the hotel to find out what happened and I was told that they called my room and I answered the phone and said that I was staying another night. Still waiting for that credit to come on my card.

Our room was located by the housekeeping room I’m assuming… Therefore the door don’t slam me open and close all morning since about 7:30 in the morning didn’t get to sleep much in the a.m.

In the first minute after entering the room, I found three live cockroaches and ants around the room. After some time, I found two more cockroaches. There was also a woman’s hair in the shower.

The kitchen had dirty unwashed dishes. From my part, a very bad recommendation, and as a customer, you want everything clean, but at this moment, very bad recommendations.

Dead bugs left in rooms, Dirty towels with pubic hairs, Tub had dirty feet prints that rubbed off with simple soap and water, bugs crawling in the restroom, staff falling asleep and not answering phones, staff bragging about big tips and having half naked friends hanging out and twerking in the front desk/office. Upon using the toilet, we realized after flushing that the water would run constantly so my husband had to keep fixing the flap inside the tank. We complained but the young man at the front desk said someone would be in the next day to repair toilet. During the night I woke up to go to restroom only to stand on carpet that was wet and very soggy next to the A/C unit. We requested the name of owner/manager. We wanted to leave but they would not give us a refund but instead offered a different room. We moved and all seemed okay but upon returning from an event the room smelled musty, the sheets were rough and it felt humid even with A/C on. We survived the night and swore we’d never return.

- Vez (4/5): - The room was a great size, bed was comfortable, location was good The refrigerator in the room, did not work. We made sure, it was on the on position. Just the smell of it, after opening the door, you can tell it's been disabled for a long while. Also the other guest, literally yelling and making noise down the hall, at late hours of the night. When time to check out came, the employee was behind the wall, that's behind the front desk, on a personal call with a family member (LOUD and on speaker). Talking about appointments and who knows what else. It took almost 10 minutes, to get her attention, to give us check out. She did apologize, but it's still very unprofessional.

Pool was okay the only thing water was really murky and dirty and water was to hot maybe a little cooler. On the price it was good for 2 night stay but more towels and pool towels.

Entrance door was loudly noisy, seemed wasn’t oiled up and made loud noise opening it up and closing it. Shower floor was so wore and with stains seemed unremoveable.

Overall would not recommend, even with few selections in Harlingen.

- gloria (4/5): ROACH HOTEL - The front desk clerk was nice & informative.The room looked like the bed had been made, but hadn't been vacuumed and the floor felt dirty. As we started unpacking we came across quite a few roaches on the desk, counters, wall, and bathroom. There was a roach in the small wash cloth that I was using for my face. I was disgusted and wanted to leave, but I would have had to pay for another room somewhere else and lose my money there as well. So we just had to grin and bear it. Luckily it was only one night. The gym looked dirty and smelled musty like the rest of the hotel.The treadmill looked worn down and wasnt working.The bench was torn and in need of replacement. They really need to have some type of pest control. I would definitely NEVER stay there AGAIN!
- Sergio (2/5): Stay away if you value your money! - This place was by far the worst place I’ve ever booked! There were so many things I could point out but I will just mention the main reasons of not to stay there. 1.the whole building had a really bad stench to it especially throughout the hallways it literally smelled like a dirty hamster cage! 2. The walls in the room looked dirty and it had patches of different colors like if there was unfinished work there, this place is in need of a paint make over , the tub looked dirty and unclean. 3. The worst thing was that you could feel moisture in the air the whole room and bedding felt damp not a good feeling at all ! I wish I would have read the reviews before I booked here!! Please avoid this place at all cost , I’ve had better experiences at a 1 star hotel this is unacceptable on their end.

I had to go buy a fan. I also didn't like that. The hallway smelled bad. My family came to see me. They asked me what that smell was. They said it smelled like old mold.

Upon arrival, the reception area gave a poor first impression—it looks run-down and poorly maintained, which immediately creates a sense of discomfort. Overall, the property shows clear signs of wear and a lack of proper upkeep. Both the common areas and some service zones are in need of urgent renovation. The hotel does have potential, especially given its good location, and the staff was courteous during my stay. I truly hope they invest in the necessary improvements soon, as it could offer a much more pleasant experience with better maintenance.

I liked having a full-size fridge and utensils, plates, etc. We unfortunately encountered 3 cockroaches in the room on a few different instances. There was duct tape on the bathtub hiding a crack that moved when you stepped near it when showering. There was always an unpleasant odor (kind of like mothballs) in the public areas.

The front desk people were nice and efficient and the room was clean and the bed was comfy. The fridge didnt work. Continuously cut on then cut off after 3 seconds 24/7. This resulted in little sleep. Last thing was, the hallway stunk. Beautiful wife agrees. We will look for a different place next time in Harlingen.

I know most hotels do not clean their rooms daily anymore but they usually leave enough towels for a couple days or more. We only had two towels in the room for two people so we had to go up to the front and get more but they were glad to give us more and helpful. I just think that if you're not going to clean the room daily you should leave more than one set of towels.

The room was dirty with roaches, everything metal was rusted, and all the floor corners were full of dirt build up and trash. The hallways and rooms reeked of humid carpet, beds the same.

- Robert (6/5): Good location - The location was good as we were meeting with the other family members at another hotel. When we checked in, I wish we were told that there is no maid service unless we requested the service. After a couple of days, I went down to request clean towels, and not all towels were available.
- Melissa (1/5): It was the worst experience I have ever had. - I am not the person to complain, but the only thing I was okay with was the young lady who checked us in and the gentleman who checked us out. Our room did not look clean. The carpet was wet and dirty. We could not get our room cleaned daily because they were short-staffed. We could not get any towels because they ran out. The bathroom had small roaches.
