- Richard (7/5): We enjoyed our stay but it would not take too much effort to make it so much better . - A lovely traditional building . Very welcoming staff . Comfortable large bed. The bathroom. It was very scruffy with broken badly fitting tiling, old fittings and poor lighting. The bedroom could do with plastering over the old artex ceiling .

The staff were very polite and obliging.
The room was spotlessly clean, quiet and nice and warm.
The parking at the rear was a real bonus as parking in burford can be difficult. Absolutely nothing.
Everything was as good as if not better than we had anticipated.

Il ristorante...tutto buonissimo!
Lo staff molto gentile. Parcheggio adiacente. Insomma tutto!
- Julie (8/5): Loved being in the Centre of the village, historical building and the Inn. A building this old comes with its challenge - Loved the atmosphere, the staff and the quirkiness Bathroom needs an update
- Rachel (10/5): Very pleasant, friendly, excellent breakfast - It was very cosy and welcoming Everything was perfect
- Tanya (9/5): Lovely place and would definitely stay again. Good hosts, fabulous food. Great location!! Thankyou - Such a gorgeous village pub. Hosts were so lovely and attentive. It was nice that there is only a couple of rooms. Breakfast was 10/10. Quiet and comfy bed. Bathroom dated but clean. The room was cold when the heating went off although a heater was provided, we wished we had plugged it in prior to going out for the evening.
- Nicola (5/5): We just stayed for 1 night so it was fine - The staff were lovely and the bed comfy The room was very dated. There were lots of cobwebs and some big cracks in the ceiling. The bathroom was also very dated and the shower was tiny
- Ashley (8/5): -
- Denise (7/5): - Great location, great Sunday roast . The full English breakfast was nice ! The room and bathroom are dated 😐. Would like more choice of breakfast, we were only offered cereal toast and full English. Would of liked some fruit and yoghurt!!
- Alison (9/5): Perfect for our needs. - Lovely old pub, perfect for our needs. Pub had already closed by the time we returned from our planned event. As taxi's weren't a practical option, would've enjoyed a night cap after driving back. 🙂
- Derrick (8/5): -
- Beverley (7/5): -
- Legge (10/5): Great pub location with good quality rooms - Comfy quiet
- Heather (10/5): Great little Gem off a place to stay offering both comfort and excellent hospitality - Great location just off the High Street within easy walking distance. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and beautiful breakfast served. Staff very attentive. Couldn’t fault it great value
- Alex (10/5): - the hospitality of the staff was great, the facilities where good and the breakfast and location was really good. more options for breakfast would be good.
- Wallwork (10/5): - Great location just a 3minute walk from main high street, lovely pub vibe, breakfast & pub food delicious. Room is comfortable & clean. Staff extremely helpful. Lovely area to base yourself for visiting Cotswolds, 2.9 miles to the Farmers Dog pub & 18minutes from Diddly Squat farm. Highly recommend The Royal Oak 😀
- Antony (8/5): If I’m ever in the area again, I would stay again. - Bed very comfortable, staff very helpful and good location for where we were visiting £34 for 2 wines, a beer and lime and soda seemed expensive.
- paul (8/5): - Harry and his wife was super friendly and prepared a magnificent breakfast. If I have to give any comment whatsoever, I would have to say that the towels were a little worn out other than that can’t complain.
- Paul (10/5): Fantastic place to stay, warm, comfortable and beautiful - Old with lots of character Lack of parking
- AINE (8/5): -
- Susan (9/5): Very good. Service, comfort and position were all excellent - The breakfast was excellent with coffee refills and good service. The WiFi was not good. I couldn't open attachments or apps.
- Annie (9/5): Very nice stay. Friendly staff and good breakfast - It was a nice pub in a lovely location. Only 2 rooms so didn’t feel like a hotel. More of a room above a pub
- Les (8/5): Money well spent - The location was brilliant
- Darren (8/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): - Location was good, beds very comfortable and great breakfast.
- Arthur (10/5): - Персонал очень вежливый, отзывчивый. Номер уютный. Завтрак был отличный. Остановился бы еще раз. Есть парковочные места неподалеку.
- Jo (10/5): -
- Ivan (10/5): -
- Janice (10/5): - Lovely little pub in heart of town of Burford...great staff..Lovely room and great breakfast! Nothing!
- John (9/5): -
- Anthony (7/5): All in all good for what we paid - Staff were friendly and obliging but our room could do with a facelift especially the bathroom. Breakfast was very good Bathroom facilities
- Helen (6/5): Burford - Breakfast was nice, freshly cooked, by lovely staff Room was very small, cold. Shower was tiny, I'm not petite, but very difficult to shower in.
- John (9/5): -
- stephen (10/5): Great stay. - Lovely host and makes you feel welcome and excellent breakfast. Rooms are basic but in need of updating.
- Wyn (8/5): -
- Ian (7/5): Good - Near to town centre. Room clean. Staff good and food OK. Not a lot, but thought expensive, but maybe that’s Cotswolds prices.
- Anne (5/5): Ok - Position of pub. Room smelt musty/damp. Cleanliness of bathroom was not good.
- Elaine (5/5): Very disappointing room. - Breakfast was prepared to order and was very good, as was the very pleasant staff member. We also had an evening dinner which was excellent. The bed was large and very comfortable, the rest of the room wasn't, see below. The room was disappointing. Dismal painted walls, old furniture, bathroom dark, bathroom suite old with ancient shower. Could have been much better with more lighting, cheerful colours, better furniture. Furniture on outside landing disrupted access to room! Radiators didnt work so used the provided heater - couldn't heat the bathroom. Parking was provided at rear but limited spaces and none reserved for residents. Access to room was outside and up a flight of steps - not the best arrangement when it's pouring down. This was an ancient inn but expected much better, having stayed in similar inns before with delightful rooms - not this one.
- Nicola (10/5): - Lovely welcome, the young lad behind the bar was great and even tried to get a taxi for us.
Breakfast was delicious , was offered more beverages and was made to feel very welcome. Set us up fpr the day.
Good liocation The only thing i can complain about was i saw it advertised for £92 but they charged me £100 and even when i showed them the offer they wouldnt honour it.
For me its the principle not the money and did put me of booking.
- Daniel (10/5): Great location, fantastic food, comfortable room. Staff were beyond helpful and friendly. - There are so many positives. We stayed for 2 nights, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The food was exceptional. We had breakfast included on both nights, and we dined in the evenings.
I highly recommend the Cotswold Pies, that are homemade in the pub. I can't fault this property.
- Lesley (4/5): Room let down our stay. Could not do more than 2 nights as room poor. Food very good and location - Breakfast very good. Location excellant. Staff nice. Had a lovely roast dinner Room was poor. Very small. Part of ceiling looked like.might come down..bulging. Shower not good. Wifi very bad. Iron steps outside upto room very scary when raining
- Alexandra (8/5): Comfortable B & B, very clean with bigger than average room - Very clean, good location, parking, good breakfast, large bedroom. Breakfast toast - sliced brown
Expected bed to be made after first night.
- Steven (9/5): We had a fabulous stay Thank you! - Lovely cosy room and great breakfast Bathroom could do with updating but it was spotlessly clean and it was nice to have the complimentary toiletries
- Tim (8/5): Excellent value, would definitely come again. - Cosy, clean, comfortable friendly and helpful staff and great value. Breakfast was excellent. Shower wasn’t the best but was still ok. TV was small and couldn’t be repositioned but we didn’t come to watch the tv
- Julie (10/5): - The location was ideal for the town. The breakfast was cooked well and left each morning feeling full. We had Sunday lunch there which was excellent but would recommend pre booking to ensure getting a table. The staff are friendly, small car park which we did not use as plenty of roadside parking around pub. The room we stayed in (room one) even though comfortable and had everything you might need in it is starting to get tired. We are the type of people who are happy to look past things as long as you have a comfortable bed, hot water etc as you are not in the room for long so this did not matter to us but might with other people.
- John (7/5): - Comfortable bed , lovely food and wished we'd had the pie seeing it on others plates . The breakfast was very nice too . Would stay again. The tiling in the bathroom was so bad but it gave us a good laugh . I wouldn't want to pay anymore as it reflected the lack of quality.
- Wendy (10/5): - The room was very spacious, huge bed, bathroom good size, shower ok too. Breakfast was amazing good quality ingredients, plenty of options cereal and jams, marmalade. Evening meal booked was lovely quality pies LUSH Shower was ok, too many mattress toppers personally for me, once moved was able to sleep much better.
- Paul (8/5): Comfortable Accommodation. - Beer expensive compared to home town (Derby), though maybe that reflects the area rates, food was excellent, especially the full English breakfast. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Nothing really.
- Riglin (10/5): Perfect - Staff were exceptional
Food delicious
- ivan (7/5): - Buena ubicación, la habitación era amplia y tenía parking para aparcar cómodamente.
El personal ha sido muy agradable y atento. El baño estaba anticuado, no conseguimos ajustar el agua fría/caliente.
- paul (8/5): - Great location for our trip, nice breakfast and friendly host. Bathroom was a little tired and in need of a little modernising. Shower was too small ,there was a problem with the shower door which made it more difficult for me to shower properly.
- Janice (8/5): Overall lovely stay breakfast was great fantastic location for high street - Location
Character building Bathroom needs updating
Water in room would be good
