• Mary (9/5): Excellent accommodation in a central location to explore. - The location was really good. Just a short walk to the wonderful high street that had excellent independent shops and cafes.

• Janice (8/5): Traditional Accommodation - Fabulous location, friendly staff. Room & bathroom small but adequate. Breakfast great ! It was very quiet the night we stayed. Nothing really..rooms are accessed by a stair at the back of the property so anyone with disabilities would be challenged !

It was very scruffy with broken badly fitting tiling, old fittings and poor lighting. The bedroom could do with plastering over the old artex ceiling .

• Keith (10/5): Our stay was easily a 10 out of 10 in every department - The evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast. The staff were very polite and obliging. The room was spotlessly clean, quiet and nice and warm. The parking at the rear was a real bonus as parking in burford can be difficult. Absolutely nothing. Everything was as good as if not better than we had anticipated.

It was nice that there is only a couple of rooms. Breakfast was 10/10. Quiet and comfy bed. Bathroom dated but clean. The room was cold when the heating went off although a heater was provided, we wished we had plugged it in prior to going out for the evening.

• Heather (10/5): Great little Gem off a place to stay offering both comfort and excellent hospitality - Great location just off the High Street within easy walking distance. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and beautiful breakfast served. Staff very attentive. Couldn’t fault it great value

Lovely area to base yourself for visiting Cotswolds, 2.9 miles to the Farmers Dog pub & 18minutes from Diddly Squat farm. Highly recommend The Royal Oak 😀
• Antony (8/5): If I’m ever in the area again, I would stay again. - Bed very comfortable, staff very helpful and good location for where we were visiting £34 for 2 wines, a beer and lime and soda seemed expensive.

• Elaine (5/5): Very disappointing room. - Breakfast was prepared to order and was very good, as was the very pleasant staff member. We also had an evening dinner which was excellent. The bed was large and very comfortable, the rest of the room wasn't, see below. The room was disappointing. Dismal painted walls, old furniture, bathroom dark, bathroom suite old with ancient shower. Could have been much better with more lighting, cheerful colours, better furniture. Furniture on outside landing disrupted access to room! Radiators didnt work so used the provided heater - couldn't heat the bathroom. Parking was provided at rear but limited spaces and none reserved for residents. Access to room was outside and up a flight of steps - not the best arrangement when it's pouring down. This was an ancient inn but expected much better, having stayed in similar inns before with delightful rooms - not this one.
• Nicola (10/5): - Lovely welcome, the young lad behind the bar was great and even tried to get a taxi for us. Breakfast was delicious , was offered more beverages and was made to feel very welcome. Set us up fpr the day. Good liocation The only thing i can complain about was i saw it advertised for £92 but they charged me £100 and even when i showed them the offer they wouldnt honour it. For me its the principle not the money and did put me of booking.
• Daniel (10/5): Great location, fantastic food, comfortable room. Staff were beyond helpful and friendly. - There are so many positives. We stayed for 2 nights, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food was exceptional. We had breakfast included on both nights, and we dined in the evenings. I highly recommend the Cotswold Pies, that are homemade in the pub. I can't fault this property.

• Julie (10/5): - The location was ideal for the town. The breakfast was cooked well and left each morning feeling full. We had Sunday lunch there which was excellent but would recommend pre booking to ensure getting a table. The staff are friendly, small car park which we did not use as plenty of roadside parking around pub. The room we stayed in (room one) even though comfortable and had everything you might need in it is starting to get tired. We are the type of people who are happy to look past things as long as you have a comfortable bed, hot water etc as you are not in the room for long so this did not matter to us but might with other people.
• John (7/5): - Comfortable bed , lovely food and wished we'd had the pie seeing it on others plates . The breakfast was very nice too . Would stay again. The tiling in the bathroom was so bad but it gave us a good laugh . I wouldn't want to pay anymore as it reflected the lack of quality.

Evening meal booked was lovely quality pies LUSH Shower was ok, too many mattress toppers personally for me, once moved was able to sleep much better.
• Paul (8/5): Comfortable Accommodation. - Beer expensive compared to home town (Derby), though maybe that reflects the area rates, food was excellent, especially the full English breakfast. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Nothing really.
