She has a genuine attitude for caring for her guests and we always feel welcomed in a personal way. I like how easy it is to use the outdoor kitchen to prepare our evening meals and just hang out on the patio or the upstairs deck. We have had wonderful breakfasts with the other guests and Leeann has provided us with lots of great places to visit. nothing. That's why we have returned to stay several times

Also, the breakfasts were excellent. Nice to chat with other guests at the breakfast table. We also enjoyed quiet afternoons by the pool. It was a little far from downtown for walking, although we did walk a few times, it takes about 45 mins.

- Alf Suter (10/5): - Lilli führt das kleine BnB unkompliziert und fast familiär. Jeden Tag gab es ein anderes Frühstück zu den Fruchtsäften, Joghurt und Müsli, die man selber zusammenstellen konnte. Das Pool war sauber und erfrischend und die Dachterrasse, von der man Vögel und sogar Delfine beobachten konnte, war genial. Danke an Lilli, auch für die Fahrt frühmorgens zum Airport.🤗 Wenn man nicht Luxus möchte, gibt es in diesem BnB nichts zu beanstanden.

In our ten days of staying there, we had a different 4-course breakfast EVERY DAY! The host was very welcoming, friendly, helpful, and responsive to requests, and introducing us to a wide range of excursions, activities, places to eat etc. As a native speaker of English, LeeAnn was very easy to communicate with. The rest of the staff was very accommodating and very pleasant. It would have been better to have a table and chairs in the room (Purcell), rather than an additional - and unused - twin size bed, and maybe a king size bed, rather than a queen.

Really appreciated the kayaks/ boards/ bikes to use ( and kitchen, tho we did not use it this time except for ice- so thoughtful she even had blue ice packs for coolers!). The rooftop terrace was lovely. Room was spacious and great bed. Nice to have an easily refillable pitcher for water, with dispenser right outside our room. There was a bit of a view of the water from the room, tho people should know they are back behind a bit, not directly on the beach. As others have mentioned, beach is a little rocky/ muddy at low tide, but still walkable. The Malecon/ downtown is a little further than I thought. 2.6 k , host told us. There is a bike path but it is on a somewhat busy road. It’s in a residential area without stores, restaurants super close. Of course, that dos make it quieter, which is nice.

This in an excellent place to enjoy your holidays. It's a cosy feeling with very high standards. We had a fantastic holiday and Casa Kootenay help a lot in that! It was unclear by talking with the locals if it's ok to swim in the beach close by. It's quite a closed bay, plenty of boats and surrounded with buildings, so we stay on the safe side and we didn't swim there. But we loved how you can sit in the back terrace of the house and enjoy your morning coffee while enjoying the view and the passersby.

- Mark (10/5): Great Place - This is a little gem of a place to stay - away from town in a residential area on the beach. There’s only four rooms so if you’re up for a quiet relaxing stay, this is the place to be. Leanne, who owns the property has thought of everything for a perfect stay. You’ll have access to beach towels, snorkeling gear, kayaks and a whole bunch more stuff for a perfect day on the beach or on the water. A lovely breakfast is included - I was on early tours for half my stay so couldn’t always breakfast - so instead I was provided with some fruit and packed breakfast to take with me. The view from the terrace is stunning - I spent a lot of time taking photos of a palm tree close to the property and the light effects that the setting sun had on it. The room (there are 4 individually named rooms - I was in the ‘Columbia’ room) is spacious and comfortable with good climate control and an excellent shower. While you’re at breakfast your room is cleaned ready for another day. The TV is packed with ‘extras’ such as Netflix. The only VERY slight downside to the hotel is the distance from the centre of town. There are a couple of local restaurants and corner shops close to the hotel but the centre of La Paz is a good 45 minutes walk away. However, it is a lovely walk to and from town - the whole town is very safe so you’ll have no worry about walking safely at any time of day. Additionally, you can use one of the bikes from the hotel or take a quick taxi. I would highly recommend

The rooms were great & the shared garden/roof top lounge areas are wonderful-amazing sunsets overlooking the beach & water. Leeanne was a wonderful host & pointed me in the right direction for fun places to check out in La Paz. She invited me to join a local cooking class that was so fun-great way to end my vacation! I didn't have a car, which would have been helpful, but she's only a 10 minute Uber ride ($5) to the center of town. I had fun chatting & getting to know everyone at breakfast & the food was amazing.

- Gary (10/5): - We booked this property because of its amenities and we used them all: paddle boarding to the mangroves from the property, kayaked with the dolphins in front of the property, biked to the downtown and beyond on the wonderful bike path, used cooler and umbrella and beach chairs to drive to Balandra beach. The property is super clean! The staff is very friendly! The room is comfortable and nice hot shower. Great shared rooftop space to watch sunsets or watch for dolphins. The bonus was the delicious breakfasts shared with other guests. The host, Leanne, would join us for fun conversations. We stayed for 6 nights and Leanne and her dogs became a welcomed family for the week. We highly recommend this lil gem in La Paz!
- Linda (10/5): WOW, great place! - What a beautiful place. Even better than the photos. The weather wasn't the best, but we were able to ride the bikes supplied along the malacon, which starts nearly in front of the bnb. The area by the swimming pool is protected so we were able to enjoy the sun while being out of the wind. We loved that kayaks and paddle boards are also supplied, and the next time we go we hope to make use of them. Note that the bnb is on an estuary, but ocean beaches are a short drive. Thank you to Leeanne for making us vegan breakfasts and giving lots of tips for what to see in the area. We loved this beautiful oasis.

- William (9/5): Delightful stay! Hope to return! - The property is beautiful. Located waterfront less than a mile from the Malecón. The room was clean and well appointed. The rooftop patio overlooks the bay and whas comfortable furniture, including a day bed which I took advantage of by taking an afternoon siesta. The common breakfast area was also quite lovely. We also took advantage of the bicycles which are available free of charge for guests. The breakfasts were delicious, and and included a variety of beverages including a selection of fruit juices and horchata. My wife received special breakfast which were tailored to her unique dietary needs (celiac). Nubia runs the only gluten free bakery in the state (Manu), and delivered her breakfast daily. They were outstanding! I highly recommend it. I have included a photo with her contact information below. Hit her up! We would have enjoyed the small swimming pool if it was heated.
- John (10/5): - What a wonderful place to stay and fully deserving of its great reputation. The owner, Leeanne is charming and knowledgeable with a keen eye for detail. For example: a guest was checking in with celiac disease. Leeanne's kitchen is cross-contaminated, and so she arranged for breakfasts that had been cooked in a gluten-free kitchen to be brought in for that guest. Alma, the cook, provides wonderful hot Mexican breakfasts. The beds are very comfortable and there are big jugs of bottled water distributed around the property. We parked on-street with no problems. Leeanne has quite a bit of equipment available to borrow and we used her bikes a few times. Not performance bikes, but they get the job done. The roof patio is glorious and a wonderful place to hang out. While it's a bit of a walk to get to the Malecon (yay bikes!), the beach in front is very walkable, and there is kind of a mangrove park an easy walk away. This is in a residential neighborhood- quiet and safe. Staying with Leeanne, you see the La Paz she loves- with the wonderful people, the terrific food and the incredible bucket list of outdoor adventures available. Stay here. You won't regret it.

- Robynn (9/5): Superb - Beautiful, clean place, friendly, helpful staff that accommodated my GF vegan diet, comfortable bed, and a great shower! The traditional adobe architecture, ocean front dining room and decor are lovely. There is a rooftop patio with a gorgeous view of the ocean and comfortable seating. Our bedroom and bathroom were large and comfortable. There was a fridge in our room. We also appreciated the use of a shared outdoor kitchen and the ground floor. The host was super helpful in providing us with connections in the community. She pointed us towards a place where we could go dancing, and a place where we could rent a car and get a driver. These definitely improved our visit experience! Our host had snorkel gear that we could use, along with there being bicycles and paddle boards available for free use. It's further from the downtown waterfront walkway/ tourist area than I thought. There was often a strong sewer smell in our room/bathroom at night. The pool is advertised as being heated, but it wasn't; it was VERY cold, which was disappointing given some of the cooler, windy days we had. And the beachwater in front of the B&B is a bit dubious as far a cleanliness for swimming, with a warning about stepping on sea urchins and very sharp shells. And just a note, in case this is of concern to you, the host has 2 dogs that look like pit bulls (not positive that they are) that wander the property freely when the host is home.

Extremely comfortable beds, amazing breakfast and accompaniments (so many sauces, tea, cereals to choose from) and so many spaces to hang out. The beach day offerings and bikes were amazing as well, we didn’t use everything but had we stayed longer surely would have!

It’s a beautiful property that includes the use of their on-premise bicycles, kayaks, paddle boards as well as other activities. The best part of this facility is the staff. Leanne and her team were gracious hosts throughout the entire stay. They were very accommodating to dietary and travel needs and provided a wealth of information regarding local tours as well as various activity and dining options. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to an opportunity to stay here again.

- Olivia (10/5): - We had an amazing time at Casa Kootenay. It was beautiful and relaxing, and the neighbourhood felt safe and quiet. There are just a couple of rooms so it felt intimate but still social—ideal! We had access to everything we needed, including bikes which we used to bike into/out of town in about 15 minutes. Leanne was a fantastic host and it was great waking up to breakfast every morning. Also, baby tortoises! We hope to make it back one day.
- Bob (10/5): - This is a wonderful B&B LeeAnne is wonderful. If you want to relax this is the place. The veranda is wonderful, if your lucky you might see dolphins swimming in the bay. You can walk to 2 wonderful restaurant's La Posada and La Mariva. The large grocery store is within walking distance. Overall try it, you won’t be disappointed.

It completely exceeded our expectations & is easily worth double what we paid. Delicious breakfasts where we met interesting friendly people, borrowed the kayaks & paddleboard & swam & paddled in the bay right in front of the house. We had vacationed in La Paz before & loved it, but stayed in hotels where we didn't get the relaxing stay we were looking for. This B & B was perfect & we'll return with our adult kids or friends next time.

- Henry (10/5): - What an amazing 15**** STAR retreat, My husband and I were very impressed with the large room, authentic decor, super comfortable beds, mini fridge, beach towels, house coats, books, games, paddle boards, kayaks....I could go on and on... Oh Yes, AND ALL on the BEACH.. Very clean bathroom, bedroom.and entire Casa. The dinning area is where the best breakfasts are cooked by the host/owner. Every single thing was "on point". The Decor in the dinning area is Magnificent. There is an abundance of interesting items that will keep your jaw dropped in amazement.The vibe is so tranquile. Surround that with the most helpful lovely owner and assistant. We were so happy and grateful.. i can't wait to return.

- Sheila (9/5): True holiday feels - This place is so great: beds are so comfortable, the terrace and breakfast room overlooking the beach are so relaxing, but the best part is the owner who is just so thoughtful and caring all the while never intrusive. We loved it so much here! The only thing we regret is not spending our mornings sitting on the hammock overlooking the sea. This spot of the house is only accessible if the owner is present or during breakfast/morning times as it closes off when she is away and is a real treat!
- Anastassia (10/5): A relaxing oasis with an amazing host - Leeann is the best host, and Casa Kootenay is the BEST place we've stayed in Mexico! We stayed here for Christmas Eve night and had the most relaxing time. From Leeann's welcome upon arrival, to the thoughtfulness of the decor, to an insanely comfy bed, to a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning (we had the yummiest banana pancakes and eggs), it's quickly clear how much love Leeann puts into the property. She is also the sweetest person to chat with, and her pups are adorable. This is an absolute gem of a place - one that relaxes you as soon as you step in. The views from the rooftop are not to miss. Do yourself a favor and book! That we had to leave!

- Mary (10/5): - Leeanne was very accomodating during my stay. She takes great pains to connect with all guests, makes suggestions as to where to eat or explore. What most impressed me was that she has thought about the little things a guest might need and provides them. IE a touch lamp with 5 pulg-in's for electronics, bathrobes, little fridge pre filled with chilled water, small safe....all those things you never knew you needed. Additionally, her home is tastefully and beautifully decorated with items from her own travels. Subtle touches that make the place feel like home.

Lili and her staff have been very kind and helpful throughout. Every day we enjoyed the delicious breakfast, the pool, beautiful and clean rooms and as a highlight the rooftop overlooking the bay. We rented SUPs and kayaks, paddled to the mangroves and saw dolphins. Couldn’t have wished for more.

Lili has a special gift to make you feel at home, you'll wake up to homebaked cookies every day and a delicias breakfast, get free bikes, kayaks and a lot more than you would have ever thought of to discover the beautiful bay and feel welcome all along. The house is beautiful, a stunning terrace with a view above the bay, nice little pool for a dir and a lot of common spaces to share. The rooms are cozy and comfy (highly recommend the upstairs rooms), there is a lot of extras like nice shampo etc, free drinking water and coffee as much as you want at anytime, and a lot of little things that you are really super welcome in this house. We had a great time and will be back!

- Sara (10/5): I want to keep this place all to myself & my friends so I wish I hadn’t written the rave. - I think it’s important to understand that this property and experience is literally exceptional—meaning you’re really not going to find something else even close in La Paz (and perhaps elsewhere). Where else will you find a 4 guest room stunning house, right on the water with a delightful beach, view, free kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, you name it? The roof deck is a dream place to hang out, watch the sunset, do yoga, stargaze. Most accommodations are hotels, very up high condos with water front but not beach, or one or two extremely large, extremely expensive (even by American standards) private homes that would only suit a large number of people. The breakfasts are consistently huge and delicious—different little treats, smoothies, juices, coffee and cereals every day plus a hot, breakfast tailored to your food preferences and allergies to the very extent possible. But the special sauce in all of this is the hostess Leeanne, a British Columbia world travelled spirit whose warm and generous personality (along with her 2 beautifully behaved dogs) permeates the whole experience. The perfect mixture of great restaurant, tour and visit suggestions that you couldn’t find on line, to chatting and visiting, to letting you have your own space. She is receptive and available without being the slightest bit intrusive—which is tough to pull off! It’s also fun to the have the option of getting to know the other guests or not. Pro tip: don’t bring sunscreen, SO many guests have left their 3/4 full bottles. Our room the Purcel room was beautiful and comfortable but probably had the least light and advantageous position in the compound so next time I’ll shoot for one of the upstairs room (but there wasn’t noise overhead)
