Guest Reviews
- Charlotte (6/5): It was a bed - There was exposed wires hanging from a missing light fixture. The shower was cold, the net curtain was torn and there was no TV.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Old and run down with a nice bathroom. - It appears to me that this is a hotel that only sees demand during football matches. Old and run down, but did have a nice bathroom.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing value - A very large clean and exceptionally comfortable room. Amazing value for the price paid
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t waste your time here - The room was so filthy the carpet, curtains, SHOWER TOWEL!!! All had stains even the bed! Run down and not taken care off.
- Keith (2/5): - For wat I paid 196£ the room was dirty the no shower cover so couldn’t have a shower no heating was a plug in heater… only good thing was just a 2 min walk to old Trafford
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good money vs quality ... Ok - Good as money value .
This hotel is a good choice for the summer but in thre winter time is a little bit to cold for my own taste.
They did try to help with a small electric heater, but the window was loosing more heat than the radiator was able to get.
This hotel is OK from a lot of points but from others it really needs some major investment specifically in the installation and a central heating system which will keep the entire building waem enough.
The parking 🅿️ is available on site.
The hotel is close to two supermarkets Tesco and Aldi what is good 👍 😊.
The position of the hotel is easy driving accessible with just two turns from a major road.
The hotel stuff is 5* they are doing the best with what they have. Congratulations to them all.
Safe and security: In my opinion it does not look scary for adults but I don't know what to say about the children (I don't have).
Over all if it was better insulated and heated it was even a better option for the winter time.
They have indeed competitive prices, so it is a good financial option.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Needs a refit - Changed room as smelled of beer and vomit. Second room looked OK initially but found to be cold, no ch, window didn't cut, no shower curtain, tv broken, lack of bedding.... Don't recommend
- Nomsa (2/5): - broken lamp
broken chair
no shower curtain
no complementaries
tv barely works
black guy was a safe guy tho
- Caitlan (2/5): - I couldnt stay the night in the room due to feeling unsafe. I was put in a ground floor room and the large window was left open when i entered.
The bedding was miss-matched, brown pillows with a white duvet and a pale blue bottom sheet.
There was no shower curtain, a broken lamp stand in a corner, marks on the walls and no way to heat the room.
The tea and coffee was just in a pile on the side board.
The lack of effort in all aspects and the open window made me afraid that it would be easy for someone to break in or that the owners might not care about the safety of the occupants.
The door was opened by a physical key not a card. There is a fob to get into the main reception.
I had to make other arrangements and leave soon after viewing the room.
I would like a refund as I could not stay in the room as it was not the room advertised.
I hope that at the very least people read this review and reconsider booking, especially when traveling alone.
- Nicky (6/5): - Basic but ok
- Abdulrashid (2/5): - Noisy
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average - Very dated. Dust everywhere in the room. Similar price to hotels in the area but way behind on standard. Door handle to our room was temperamental and didn’t feel very safe. Friendly staff. Location close enough to Trafford centre, old Trafford and Victoria warehouse. Would consider reducing price slightly for more custom.
- JCA (6/5): avarage - nice stay - I had a pleasant stay at DJ Suites, however hotel was initially very difficult to find. Upon.
On arrival, I had to phone staff member on mobile to let me in – however once let in was given key for room. Receptionist was not forth coming with useful information and had to be asked
This hotel is not in the city centre, however thar is a very reliable and frequent bus service.
- Barrie (8/5): Nice Hotel - Stayed quite a few times now, very comfortable, although no food available a Witherspoon's is just round the corner.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cheap and cheerful hotel, no food or drink as advertised but a pub close by, our room was upgraded to a suite so a pleasant stay and close to our conference the next day. The guy who checked us in was lovely and very accommodating :) all in all a lovely welcoming stay
- Transalloy Wheels (6/5): - Could do with a new bed mattress as ours was disgusting.
- Kathryn (2/5): Do not stay here! - Absolutely terrible, worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We experienced 4 different rooms. Shower with clear windows to the outside world to allow viewing, broken toilet seat, freezing temperatures, tv only had a few channels you could actually see, wifi did not work, broken remote controls, sporadic hot water, no hairdryer. To top it off the manager was one of the rudest people I have ever come across.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Get what you pay for - Service at reception was good . Room was clean, cold as no heating on which for a menopausal woman fine but cold in night and morning . Was awoken at 4 am by people coming into next room , doors banging and could hear conversation through the walls for about an hour . Not a great nights sleep considering had to drive 5 hours the next day . overall i would not stay there again
- MOHAMMED (8/5): Cheap and cheerful. Privacy concern though! - Basic but does the job.
BUT the window in the bathroom is not frosted glass so people from opposite building can see you shower. Terrible flaw.
- Christy (2/5): - No restaurant or bar. Location map sends you to the wrong entrance. Wifi is abysmal and room looked like it hadn't been refurbished since the 1950's
- Donna (8/5): Basic but nice - We were very satisfied for the price we paid. Very basic but clean and comfortable beds and the staff were lovely, very friendly. The location was ideal for the concert that we were attending and I would stay again for that price.
- Stephen (6/5): In need of a refurbishment - Our stay was fine despite the tired state of the hotel. One of the beds had a wheel missing and was on a slant, there was no tv remote and no way to turn it on (not that we wanted to use it luckily). There was no handsoap, the toilet roll was very budget, the toilet leaked from the back slightly when flushed. No hand towels were provided. Only 1 dessert spoon provided for two peoples tea and coffee. 1 pillow case on each bed with two pillows stuffed in. There was no restaurant/bar/breakfast options (the on site restaurant looked to have been closed for some time). On the positive - staff were friendly, and the room was passable and the hotel perfectly placed for Manchester Marathons start/finish location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap, Cheerful? and well located - Staff were friendly, and the location was perfect but that is the best can be said for this hotel. It’s in need of a refurb and simple things like a shower curtain to stop the bathroom flooding would be an easy fix. It does what it says on the tin and is a ‘cheap and cheerful’ place to get your head down.
- Ben (6/5): Awful - To start off good, the amenities were very good from the little fridge l, iron, etc etc. But the bad out did the good I’m afraid. You can hear every step everyone takes all day and night above below and same level. The Hall way had a strong smell of weed, and on the second night when we lay in bed we could genuinely smell weed. The only light that worked was the main light. No side lights, table lights or small bathroom light all did not work. The bottom of the kettle was full of grime, and the TV also did not work. I know the price is not high but the things wrong we’re genuinely awful, I know a few friends who were going to use this place as location was good but they will be now moving their booking elsewhere.
- BRIAN (8/5): - Rooms are very nice....staff very pleasant....ill definitely be staying again
- Jonathan (6/5): - Pleasent room though we would have enjoyed it more if the TV remote had a battery, the bed side light had a bulb and the bathroom had some soap
- Russawadee (8/5): - The staff is really friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and the hotel is located in front of 24hr Tesco and about 5 mins walk to Old Trafford Stadium.
- Karen (10/5): Excellent stay - The owner dealt with check-in efficiently and was very friendly, we ending up chatting about where he came from and was shown pictures which was very interesting. It was a little confusing on arrival as to how to contact reception but that didn't detract from our enjoyment. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with a heater and fan provided for convenience, blackout curtains and nets for privacy. The toilet lid was broken which we didn't mention as we were only there one night. One downside was no milk for coffee and only one cup. It would have been difficult to contact anyone to remedy this
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great position for sports fans. - Great position between the football and cricket stadiums. Large room, comfortable double bed.
The full skip standing outside the bedroom window wasn’t a pleasant sight.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Ideal location for going to cricket and football ground
- christopher (6/5): Our stay - We got to the hotel and at first glance it was well presented. We parked the car and checked in at reception and was greeted by a lovely member of staff. We received our key and proceeded to our room (room 4). As we walked in the room it seemed ok but as the time went on, a few things came to our attention that wasn't what we expected for the money we paid. First of all, the carpet was badly stained, one lamp was broken. My partner then went off for a shower to find the towel rail was broken and during her shower, the shower curtain rail fell off and almost caused an unnecessary injury. The TV didn't have all the features that was shown on the remote ie netflix, amazon prime. The kettle did not work and the bed was rock hard and we ended up with about 5 hours sleep between us, it was not comfortable. We were also kept awake by other guests walking up and down the corridor as we tried to get some sleep. The overall cleanliness of the room wasnt up to standard and we wanted to voice our concerns to a member of staff upon checking out but there wasn't anyone on the desk with other guests either waiting to check in or out too. If these things are to be rectified, we would probably stay there again as its close to everything we wanted.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bed is spoilt and shower tap is not working well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location for my stay in Manchester, staff are very friendly and helpful, will stay again if I'm back in Manchester again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not that impressive for the price - Floors creaked abnormally loud as people walked. Was woken up middle of the night to people just walking in upstairs room! Room was dated and good do with a firmer mattress, felt like the ones you get in a hostel and carpets felt old and tacky
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Had no sleep due to the noise and the rooms was disappointing too needs a good revamp didnt ear in the restaurant so cant comment on that floors very squeaky and can hear every little thing people walking round making tea etc wont be staying again reception staff was rude and not very helpful either
- Francois (2/5): Two horrible nights... - I should have read more reviews before visiting this hotel. First the good things, good location and free parking. Thats it. Staff is nice, although didnt see them much. Hotel looks old, the room, despite an obvious effort, is very dated, the wallpaper falls apart, the carpet is dirty and the cleaning seems to have been rushed. On top of that, the floor is extremely squeaky and you can hear everything from the other rooms. My room being on the ground floor, I couldnt sleep well the first night because my neighbour above was walking (aka stomping) and slamming doors at 1am. On the second night, three hotel guests came to the hotel from clubbing at 3am and were chatting (aka shouting) for an hour straight in the reception area (right next to my room). Obviously no one to tells them off because the hotel is unmanned from 11pm to 10am, feels very unpractical and unsafe at that point. Long story short, I should have slept in my car, would have been cleaner and quieter
- Robert (10/5): My overnight stay of choice when in Manchester. - Prefer staying here than in any of the chain hotels nearby. Family run and they really do make it a home away from home.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No sound barriers between floors. A fight broke out
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Filthiest place ever. Surprised that Expedia would recommend this place. Dirty, smelly, broken infrastructure, no professionalism displayed by the staff, couple of friends of the receptionist hanging out in the dirty lobby with their feet on the table and were extremely obnoxious. We left the hotel right away without asking for a refund and moved to a holiday inn a mile away. Worst experience ever.
- John (8/5): DJ SUITES THE ELEMENT - It was very nice but we had to wait outside for about 10 minutes before we were in. Nobody on reception. The reception was supposed to close at 23.00 hrs and we were there at 21.00
- DG (6/5): - Property in poor shape. Entire place has smoke smell. Couldn’t sleep as mattress springs kept poking my back. Only good parts of our stay were free parking, walking distance to Manchester Cricket Stadium (we were there for a game) and Hussain at front desk who was friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - What a surprise! Free parking, excellent value for money
- Ian (8/5): Good location for Old Trafford - Perfect location for attending an event at either Old Trafford stadium, room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
Only gripe was that getting served at reception, I had to phone them up to get attention as the bell didn't seem to work.
- Stuart (8/5): Excellent location, nice room, friendly staff. - This hotel is located with sight of Manchester United's stadium or "Old Trafford". The amenities are basic with very comfortable beds, well apportioned updated en-suite bathrooms, and the usual complementary toiletry and coffee/tea providings. Our room was in need of new carpeting (as there was large hole in the middle of the room), and the drapes needed to be replaced (they kept falling off the track when you opened them), that did little to detract from our stay. The location is excellent with a 24-hour Tesco across the street with a gas station as well. The parking was adequate and always had spaces available during our visit for the last EPL game of the season. There is an elevator/lift to help those on the upper floors move bags to your room. The WiFi was fine for me (Android phone, and PC Laptop) but my son was never able to connect with his new iPhone, nor I with my old iPod touch. The real gem of this hotel besides its location is the restaurant in the basement. Excellent staff, outstanding Indian/Middle Eastern cuisine, and good beer selection, all for a very reasonable price. They also have a burger, chicken sandwich, fries/chips for those who may not want Indian food. Highly recommend this place, even if it is a little older than some hotels.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly check-in staff and the room was clean and comfortable. It's not smart or modern, but the location was absolutely perfect for the Manchester marathon and it's an easy walk to Salford Quays, the cricket ground and Old Trafford. Parking was very easy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good size room and bathroom. Good location for Old Trafford.
- Kay (8/5): Great hotel, few minor flaws - Amazing location, love the bar and restaurant and the room was a great size, everything you need in there. Iron etc my only negatives are that the tea facilities were not replenished after room was made up which meant I had no sugar for my tea on the second day and the carpet looked very worn and torn in one place. The floorboards need looking at. Upstairs kept us awake in the early hours cos the floorboards were so squeaky.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Generally ok. Good location, adequate room. - Very convenient for old Trafford and local pub and supermarket. No breakfast. Bed mattress rather old/saggy but otherwise fine. Nice big bathroom. Walls a bit thin so hear noises.
- Andrew (8/5): - Good Location,
- Ian (8/5): - Well located hotel for both the football and cricket Old Traffords, close to the tram stop too for easy access to the city centre.
The staff were very helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the one downside was the fact that the bathroom door in the room would not close.
