Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, friendly staff. Ok for s one night stay in the city
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place. Shops, bars and restaurants around the hotel. Five minutes to the peer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room clean, plenty of hot water and towels changed daily. Reception were very helpful. Hotel was central to all the attractions.
- Niall (6/5): - Very basic accommodation but did exactly what was required & ideal for a weekend trip with friends. Good location in the heart of the city.
- David (6/5): Handy town centre location - The hotel was well located for a dinner I was attending but unfortunately it was also well located for several late night pubs. It was very noisy until the middle of the night with a bass beat pounding out across the road until about 3pm.
During the week it might be much quieter so I wouldn’t rule it out then - but not on Friday or Saturday.
The facilities are clean and comfortable enough though.
- H (10/5): Good price and convenient - I enjoyed staying in the hotel, good location and very convenient. The price is reasonable. My luggages were kept there without charge before checking in as I arrived early.
- chris (8/5): I'd stay here again - Clean. Excellent location. Bed not too comfortable; but manageable. I'd stay here again.
- Rita (10/5): Great - Nice rooms. Good mattresses..great location..Nice that coffee milk tea..for free..
- Robert (10/5): Graduation trip - It was a good stay for our sons graduation great part of the city
- SCOTT (8/5): Quick Liverpool Overnight Stay - My daughter and I were planning a trip for the Liverpool University open day being held on Saturday, so we decided to come up from London on the Friday and stay over.
We booked Hotel 46 because of the location and the reasonable price. We were arriving fairly late on Friday and were out early on Saturday, so we were booking just a room for the night.
The staff were welcoming. We had 2 stages of security before reaching our room (door entry system), which was good.
Everything was clean, kettle with teas, coffees, etc were provided, along with an iron/ironing board. Also TV with a very clear picture/Freeview, and Wi-fi available.
It is situated approx. 5 mins walk from the main Town Centre and 10-15 mins walk from the University, so a very good location.
Liverpool is a 'happening' city, so you have to expect noise, music, etc from surrounding area, but it is not overpowering.
I would recommend Hotel 46. Its not all 'bells and whistles' but good value for a 1-2 night stay. Great location! Would definitely return....hopefully my daughter gets a place at Uni!!!

- Verified traveler (6/5): - Greit hotell i nærheten av Mathew street. Får minus for ikke å ha heis.
- Jose (6/5): - Basic hotel but clean and tidy. Great location very close to the waterfront, shops and restaurants. Everywhere walkable. The staff were excellent, very friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the reception area was still under refurb but my room was excellent
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This is so noisy that I can't fall in sleep at the whole night! As there are many bar and pub nearby, also many seagull was screaming at the morning....OMG ><
- dave (4/5): Look for alternatives - The location is probably why you find this "not hotel". The location includes a very noisy pub just in front of all windows of this place. Not only people making noise, loud music as well. If you are looking for a good bight sleep, forget it. The shower was very good.
Staff was bad and it is made to have as little interaction as possible.
- Harry (6/5): H - difficult to find because there isnt a clear hotel front, and you have to look around a bit to get parked. but once in the room was really clean roomy and comfortable
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff are helpful and very nice.
But the room is noisy at night
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic hotel - Absolutely fabulous hotel! Stayed with 3 friends for a friends birthday and just couldn't fault it, the bathroom was spacious and so was the room itself, very clean and right near the shops and the nightlife being 10minute walk away. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and the free wifi is a bonus... Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Liverpool
- Joseph (10/5): Impromptu visit - Impromptu visit rooms ideal for what we needed
- neil (8/5): decent hotel - decent hotel in middle of city centre. 2 min walk from James Street train station.
- peter (10/5): city centre - city centre parking free from 6pm till 8am so ideal for evening walkabout
- gerard (8/5): - Wifi was problemmatic, but otherwise it was a perfect place for me to rest on my journey.
- Dianne (10/5): Great Value - Friendly, helpful staff.
Great proximity to everything.
Great value given price.
Would be good if they offered breakfast (although there is a spot across the road so no big deal).
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I doing checking around 16pm and i leave the room day later 10 am , i think the hotel need count 12h for the Room .. We dont sleep many hours because we go out for dinner and visit the cavern one night in Liverpool and get up 8 pm to have a shower and leave the room at 10 am .. Never mind ..!! And is not anybody in the reception during the night ..
- John (6/5): Good potential. - Very comfy bed and an excellent central location. The hotel was being refurbished at the time and no amenities were available
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good, central location at competitive price - Great location, nice people, strong wifi but road outside and bars are a little noisy til Midnight and again from 6ish. But you'll struggle to find many other places around here with such competitive prices.
- Tomasz (6/5): Good price and location - Very good location. Nice, comfy and clean room, like new :) When refurbishment will be done - spott on. Ta ;)
- Kathryn (8/5): Perfect for a short stay - I stayed in the Britannia Rooms with my friend as we were in Liverpool to see a band. The guy that greeted us was lovely and carried our bags to the room. The room was really clean, quite small, but we didn't need any more room. The bathroom was very clean, this is something I am usually quite picking on but I couldn't complain at all. The location is perfect, not far from shops and bars and if you don't want to walk it only cost £4 in a taxi.
- Joshua (6/5): Lovely but a bit noisy at night - Lovely hotel with great customer service and a location very near the subway. The rooms are perfectly suitable. The only caveat, and it is a big one, is there's a bar maybe 10 feet from the hotel that plays live music quite loudly until as late as 2am on weekends. It is substantial and hard to ignore. If you intend to simply use this hotel as a place to sleep and intend to do so after 2, this place is great. If not, you may find the experience a bit tough. Bring ear plugs!
- Trevor (6/5): Liverpool - Britannia Rooms - Ideally Situated - room prices reasonable. The hotel is undergoing some refurbishment and if you are disabled the stairs could be a problem. There is no bar or catering but there are plenty of places in the immediate vicinity. I would definitely stay here again. First impressions are that it is a rundown place but once you enter the building you see the amount of work that has been carried out and is ongoing you will change your mind. Well worth a visit/stay
- daniel (10/5): clean fresh hotel great value for money - The hotel was very clean and the room to a high standard although undergoing renovation the rooms were furnished perfect clean bed linnen and towel and a comfy stay would definitely stay again great location and maybe one thing to add a bit more signage out front but i expect thay will come once fully renovated
- Meena (6/5): A few teething problems - A fe teething problems for this refurbished hotel To be fair the first was that hotels.com had posted an incorrect telephone number and they are not listed yet so had no way of contacting them. The second was that deposit was taken despite hotels.com telling me 'nothing had been taken from my credit card and full payment would be taken on the day. The last was a problem at the hotel when I returned after dinner, all the lights in the room had fused and I had to get ready and go to bed in the pitch black. As there is no-one on reception from 8pm till after 10 the following morning it was not fixed until the cleaners came in.
At the hotel however it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bed very comfortable. Would have had a great night's sleep apart from the Karaoke from The Slaughterhouse opposite. But if you're on a late night out in the city this should suit you just fine.
- Paul (10/5): Recommend - Very good for amount paid would stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money - Good clean and comfortable accommodation. Very helpful and accommodating staff
- Manan (6/5): Decent stay - close to the high street, good 10-15 minute walk from liverpool lime street. The entrance of the hotel was a little dodgy, but to be fair they were renovating the hotel. The room was nice and clean and had all the basic facilities needed, however it was a little small. However it was surprising that there was no staff on site at checkout, there was just a little box on the wall where you put your keycards and that was it!
- Curmudgeon (10/5): Clean and comfy rooms in a kinda sketchy building - My friends and I stayed at this place 2 times within a week in December 2014. There are rooms to accommodate 1, 2, and 3 adults. The rooms were either renovated very recently (as of the time of our stay), or have always been well-maintained: they were very clean, and everything in them worked perfectly. The rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi, password-secured (not using MAC-address filtering!). This means that you can connect your streaming media-players like Chromecast to the room's big-screen TV and enjoy Netflix or other quality online content, instead of the numerous ad-overloaded satellite channels.
The rooms we stayed in were facing the pub across the street, so some loud entertainment was filling the rooms until 1 AM.
The rooms have traditional British two-fauceted sinks, which are ridiculously inconvenient for us Americans.
The check-in took 3 minutes or less (sign the form, get your key, and you're done!). For the check-out, you simply drop off your key in the box on the wall on your way out.
- Izam (8/5): My short stay at Britannia Rooms liverpool - my stay was great.
- Jonathan (4/5): Nice but noisy - Room and bathroom where very clean. Beds where comfortable. Only single glazed windows which meant we heard everything all night.
- Mark (8/5): A room in Liverpool - Hotel is next to late bars or night clubs and is a bit noisey after 10 pm but it's a nice warm clean hotel
- nicola (10/5): The rooms were very close to the docks - Me and my daughter had a really nice stay parked outside the hotel and the staff were very polite
