- Yuan (7/5): BAD EXPRERIENCE WITH THE RESTAURANT SERVICE - DEAL BREAKER - The hotel is just like all the other banyan trees, quiet, well decorated, with views. Food supply and the restaurant arrangement was disaster. There are two restaurants in the hotel, the chinese restaurant was always fully booked, while you would be pushed to the western restaurant. However it takes more than an hour for the food to be served, and the staff was not helpful at all, no bread, or even water was provided without any explanation. The nearest public restaurant is 30-mins drive from the hotel. So you would expect 1-2 hours for the meals.

- Chern Yi (9/5): Lovely spot to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. - Hotel is beautifully landscaped, blending modern amenities with ancient architecture. The pool is heated at a constant temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and perfect to swim in. Rooms were spacious and I liked how there are separate work and sleep area. The room we were in is above the lakes so we were able to feed the fishes from the balcony. The free 'extras' offered to guests were a nice touch - they include free photography (5 photos) and free activity option of fan painting or hike. The aircond in the room was not functioning and the hotel staff was not able to fix it. However they did offer a fan to increase ventilation. Also the complimentary was not very stable during our stay. Note that the hotel is not close to major attractions and is above a 30-40 minutes cab ride away from West Street.

Le niveau d'anglais du personnel est très limité. Par ailleurs il est un peu ridicule de vouloir faire payer (cher) pour monter sur la colline qui est dans le parc de l'hôtel.

- Ruby (10/5): Incredible! - This is easily the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in! This was the ‘splurge’ part of our two weeks in China and it didn’t disappoint. The service was incredible, the duty manager checked in periodically to check how we slept, if we needed help with anything, if we had onward transport sorted on the day we checked out. The rooms and grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The food was delicious and there was a very good range of things to choose from. I would really recommend the river cruise and the cormorant fishing trip, both were highlights of our China trip. Nothing, only that we couldn’t stay longer!

- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay was perfect. Every time we returned from our tours or shopping, it felt like we were back in paradise. The staff were welcoming and professional; the rooms were clean, and the breakfast served was delectable. We also enjoyed feeding the ducks, peacocks and fishes. The bamboo rafting experience was a bonus. The distance to town and the main attractions takes about 20 minutes, but the hotel's sanctuary-like atmosphere made up for it.

Our villa was gorgeous and very well appointed. We did have a problem with our air conditioning. They offered to move us, but ultimately they were able to fix the AC in our original unit. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

- Qikun (10/5): - The resort is beautiful. We enjoyed the little strolls we had around the hotel property with the little animals (peacocks are a bit noisy to be fair). Our reservation includes 1 hour river rafting which was quite scenic and also saved us the trouble of having to get the tickets separately outside. The hotel itself though is a bit far from the town centre. We weren't able to make use of the free shuttle due to schedule conflicts but it was quite convenient to call a taxi to get into town.

It’s about 30 minutes from the city center of Yangshuo. Not the most convenient location if you are looking for night life and foods variety.

Sometimes there was a language problem but we can manage that. In the Chinese restaurant our waiter was very good. Spoke good English. His name was Prince and he was very fun to speak with. Gives good advice over the dishes and he loves his work. Also the complimentary raft ride over the river was excellent The Alpacas need to have a bigger stall. Also they can have a pasture near their stall. So they can walk outside when they like. The children can visit them there.

Welcoming staff. Lovely hotel, but the rooms are starting to feel a little worn, so could do with better maintenance and some refurbishment. Location on the river is beautiful, but very remote in the middle of a village, so difficult to get to and quite a distance from anything.

I liked how most of the staff went our their way to make our stay comfortable and try to fulfill all our wishes. My son enjoyed the ponds and breakfast with peacocks! It was truly a blissful sight. I'd like to thank Ian for bringing our in room dining--super charming guy! I'd like to thank the chef (maybe Martin is his name) he always was helpful and most of all Rhianna for the nice hospitality! ! Cleanliness was the main issue as we kept finding hair in plates at the restaurant and also it seems the chamber maids are not tall enough to clean all the way up as the villas are quite high and some places are very dusty! Compared to any other 5 star resorts or Banyan tree, food quality and preparation needs a bit improvement. I give food a 6.5 out of 10!

- Priscilla (10/5): Our Stay - Our stay at Banyan Tree Yangshuo was nothing short of perfect. The hotel setting was magnificent with splendid views of the karst mountains. The room was also immaculate (clean) and the service of all the staff there was excellent. For example, they took the effort to even remember what the drinks we ordered for breakfast and asked if we would like the same the next day. All in all, a perfect get-away for both of us.

- siu (10/5): A wonderful stay - 這次在陽朔悅榕莊的住宿經驗非常好。第一次去陽朔，所以出發前一天就打電話去，把周邊環境和交通打聽清楚。接電話的工作人員很細心解釋，告訴我們度假村有shuttle 接送，衹是時間不配合的話，要自己叫車。從入住到離開，感覺很舒服。到處都乾乾淨淨，服務貼心，環境也十分清雅。中西兩個餐廳都有去用餐，服務很好，食物也很好。有機會再來，也會強力推薦給朋友。Keep up the good work, thank you！

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Kleiner Mangel waren teilweise fehlendes Fugenmaterial der Fliesenböden. Zwar keine praktische Auswirkung aber optisch unschön. Ansonsten wären Zimmer, Austattung, Hotelanlage und die Umgebung ein Traum. Der Service war super und auch mit der englischen Sprache kam man gut klar. Entgegen anderer Kommentare kann ich die Funktion der Raumklimatisierung als völlig ok beschreiben. Vielleicht wurde die Technik zwischenzeitlich verbessert - jedenfalls war es kein Problem frische 22 Grad einzustellen. Das Hotel ist etwas ab vom Schuss aber in einer super idyllischen Lage. Es war super die Gegend und die wunderschöne Natur mit dem kostenlos bereitgestellten Fahrrädern oder auch bei der kostenlos vom Hotel angebotenen Flossfahrt zu genießen. Das Gym ist klein aber fein, Die Massage im Spa ein Erlebnis und das Essen in beiden Restaurants sehr gut. Alles in Allem war es ein super Erlebnis. Würde das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen
- Verified traveler (10/5): 山水間的幽靜之旅 - 陽朔悅榕莊位於陽朔縣城外的郊區福利鎮，從村落旁的小路開車進入，遠離開發過度的縣城民宿聚落，四周不時傳來悅耳的鳥鳴聲，顯得特別寧靜。日落儀式、竹筏遊灕江特別讓人感覺到悅榕莊的體貼與溫馨。中、西餐廳各有特色，提供的料理和服務都不錯，值得品嚐，如果咖啡水準能再提升一些就更加分。早餐後漫步園林間偶遇孔雀覓食，特別幸運。福利鎮的樸實和扇畫別有特色，對比西街的喧鬧，更具魅力，感謝大堂工作人員的推薦。

- Sameena (2/5): Great setting, room temperatures unbearable - The inside rooms were 28 Celsius and wouldn’t cool. We complained and they put loud fans in the rooms without fixing air conditioner. Inside rooms were 27 Celsius. Kids room stayed hotter. Appalling!! Male manager was blaming his low level staff for confusion on breakfast vouchers. Instead they should have included the breakfast bc we stayed in hot rooms. He should be held to account for poor managing of the temp regulation in buildings. Bikes on property had flat tires when we picked them up. Checkout wanted to charge us for broken water glass until we reminded them of our sweltering rooms. Bathroom amenities bag are charged instead of free gifts as done by other high end resorts. This seems petty and unrefined for the expensive room rates we pay. Overall, poorly trained staff and hot rooms make for painful getaway. Not worth it!!

- Jeffrey (2/5): Frustration, followed by ongoing disappointment - A nice property located in a beautiful area. The hotel property is somewhat isolated from Yangshuo, yet offers peace and quiet when wanted. As a first time visitor to a Banyon Tree Property, I expected the service of a 4-5 start well organized property. What I found was frustration followed by continued disappointment. On our first morning, we arranged a taxi (requires 30 min due to location) and was provided the driver’s number. The driver notified us of his arrival and we proceeded to the lobby. When we arrived 2-3 minutes later, the taxi is gone. We called the driver and was told the hotel put other guests in the car. The driver offered to return, but after talking with Hotel was told not to. With pre-arranged tickets, we had no time to wait for another taxi and spent too long arguing with the front office manager. The disappointment that followed included difficulty being waited on in Chinese restaurant, forgotten beverage orders at breakfast, room temperature not dropping below 25c and it continued. A nice property, but much improvement needed to turn a stay into a nice experience.

- A (8/5): Beautiful hotel, service is a hit or miss - The hotel is gorgeous, but service is a bit disappointing at times. Very few employees speak English. Called the concierge for restaurant recommendations in town and she could not understand me at all. Breakfast is nice. Just don’t think that this will be a Four Seasons resort experience and you should be fine.

It's the most expensive hotel in the area because it's one of the fanciest, most relaxing, most naturally beautiful place I've ever been. I stayed here b/c I wanted to enjoy the beauty of Yangshuo without feeling like I "should" be out-and-about all the time (i.e. I wanted to sit by the pool and not feel guilty about it). This hotel accomplished that and more for me - I would 100% stay here again.

The receptionist was attentive and processed us rapidly so that we could go and get some rest. The hotel facilities were excellent with polite and helpful staff. The restaurants were top quality with a wide variety on the menu. The setting of the hotel is unforgettable in a beautiful area and the architecture of the hotel fits in beautifully with the environment. If we go to the region again we shall stay their.

- Mei Kuan (6/5): 五星服務，三星硬件。 - Upgrade到別墅房,房間舒適，尤其有一大圓形浴缸，很滿意。位置較偏，附近什麼也沒有，沒有車不方便，酒店穿梭巴士班次太少，一天只有幾班車去客運巴士站及西街附近，建議加高鐵站。厠所板不清潔，有疑似糞便或血跡,惡心。中西餐廰貴，服務很好但食物一般。前堂有位女士不耐心，因本人普通話不好，多問一次她態度厭煩。酒店租車很貴，酒店去桂林要＄2800。私人竹笩碼碼是酒店最好的設施，但其他設施指示很不足,如有乒乓球及高爾夫球都不介紹，只派一張紙，似乎不想客人參加。租不合體形身高的自行車給客人，只管叫客人簽自責書，妄顧客人生命安全，不敢騎出街。單車騎不久就壞了，幸好沒有䩭車出外。

- Alexandra (6/5): Schöne Hotelanlage mit Potenzial - Das Hotel ist sehr schön und idyllisch gelegen. Die Zimmer sind leider etwas abgewohnt, aber dennoch in einem guten Zustand. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich, spricht aber kaum oder sehr schlecht Englisch, was das Buchen von Ausflügen oder das Einholen von Auskünften sehr schwer macht. Das entspricht leider keinem 5-Sterne-Standard.

- David (10/5): beautiful Banyan Tree Yangshou - what a beautiful hotel & facility, pay the extra money folks as it one of the nicest hotels i stayed in the room was just beautiful decorated & very large with nothing you could say wrong with it we had a king room & it was like a suite in most other hotels with a living area, bed room,area, then your wash room & a wonderful balcony to overlook the beautiful grounds.its a little peace of heaven so very quiet & the staff all speck english & they are wonderful, if you don't feel like walking they will pick you up in there cars any time & i always tip them,or theirs bike at your door you can bike away as we just walked the beautiful grounds. we will be back to visit this hotel again thats for sure.

I appreciated that free bicycle provided by the hotel and I enjoyed it very much.
