Claire (4/5): Bad room - Not good shower head broke. Bath tub won’t plug closed so I had to use a new rag as a plug. Toilet barely flushed. Tv wouldn’t switch off pc mode and air conditioning won’t even do fan mode. Kept beeping clean filter and not staying on
Diazia (4/5): - When I arrived I was given a dirty 2 bed room after booking a queen single bed. I was solo traveling for an family emergency and just needed to stop for the night white traveling to Mi, it was pee and tissue in the toile when I walked in, the sheets made me itch and I could barely sleep all night. Breakfast is a nice touch for this shag. Don’t bring in your clothes and make sure you keep your receipts! I was charged $10 extra than expected for something I didn’t even want! Would never stay here again, staff is sassy especially over the phone, terrible customer service
Brian (2/5): Don't do it - After paying for the room in here for a SMOKING room, they then told me I have to pay a deposit of 100$ since i have an address within 45 miles. Room was dirty, blood on walls disgusting but they were not going to argue with me i had a burn hole in the sheets (it was there) so they were not giving nmy deposit back lady was very rude. Hotels.com did nothing either

Christopher (2/5): - Booked for Monday-Friday and did not stay passed Wednesday night. Wednesday morning I woke up covered in bug bites and a spider bite to my arm. I went to check out and the lady working the office was very understanding. The on-call rooms at the hospital smelled and looked better than the rooms here.

Beth (6/5): Under staffed and bare minimum’s - The reservation was not located upon our arrival. The employee was not knowledgeable or helpful. The room was clean, but no amenities provided. I had to leave and shop for coffee, cups, soap and shampoo. Towels were thread bare and wash cloths non existent.
Linda (6/5): dirty, noisy and squeaky - Three words - dirty, noisy and squeaky. We booked our room as we pulled into town, then had dinner at fast food. When we got to the hotel, the receptionist had to turn on the computer to find the reservation. She put us in a second floor room even though I requested no stairs. The room was musty when we went in, but the bed looked clean enough to sleep in. I had to wash the counter before I would put my CPAP on it or my phone to charge. Only one trash basket in the room. We found out that the bed squeaked every time we turned over. The manager can't be held responsible, but there were young adults running and yelling in the halls until nearly 11pm, then little kids started running in the halls around 7:30 am. Breakfast was limited, but it would have been nice to have napkins! I guess I'm spoiled, because the other "good" hotels I've stayed in were much better.

Sabino (4/5): Disappointing - The beds were so old you could feel the springs, they need to be replaced. Pillows were also flat, not comfortable to sleep at. There was no shampoo/body soap to wash with. I would not stay there again.

keith (2/5): Stay Away from Suite 231 - They gave me what they call the best room but it appears the Lord of the flies was there before me because it was fly infested. It must of been the same room another reviewer had who said the same thing about the flies. Bathtub had hair as well as one of the towels

EUGENE (8/5): OVERALL BAD BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE ISSUES. - ROOM WAS CLEAN. BED WAS TO SOFT & PILLOW WERE HARD AS ROCKS. THERE WERE NO CURTAINS OR DRAPES ON WINDOWS WHICH ALLOWED A LOT OF OUTSIDE LIGHT IN THE ROOM, MAKING IT HARD TO SLEEP. THE HEATER/COOLER UNIT RAN ALL THE TIME MAKING A LOT OF NOISE, AND AGAIN HARD TO SLEEP. HAD TWO (2) VERY BAD NIGHTS BECAUSE OF THESE ISSUES. NOT MUCH OF A BREAKFAST. GO OUT TO SOMEPLACE ELSE IF YOUR HUNGRY.

LarryM (8/5): - Knights Inn, aka Blackhawk Inn, continues to provide the facility for an excellent stay for the rates. My recent three day stay was exceptional overall and the staff were always friendly and willing to help should any issues arise. I've stayed at this establishment for several years now on my time in Jacksonville and not once has there been any issues.

We did not have much that we did not like about the hotel- it was a grand place in the Age of Motels, and the skeleton of that is still there. There have been updates and so the rooms have wood-like flooring. The sheets were a bit thin and both the towels and bedding needed a good bleaching, but everything was comfy. Breakfast is nice for continental, with fresh fruit, boiled eggs, waffles, etc. We had a suite with two queen beds and a sofa, and fridge in the other room. The hotel was quiet (brick building) and we felt safe.ask for help with key card, though - it takes a few dozen tries to get the hang of it.

We arrived at about 4pm to check in and there were still scrambled eggs and other debris on the carpet in the breakfast area. We got the keys to the room and could not stand the stench when we opened the door. The room was in a basement type area and was cold, damp, and smelled so bad we could not stand it. The clerk gave us a full refund with no questions.
Charles (2/5): - First room shower wouldn’t work at all, took shower in another room that took 5 minutes to get in. Door keys wouldn’t work so went to third room. Had hour between daughters dance recital shows so ate and went back to hotel to redo makeup but manager key couldn’t even get us in the room so that didn’t happen. We won’t be back.

ivette (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised with this place. On the outside I thought oh ma this room will probably be run down. I was wrong it was clean very spacious. It was a quiet area which I liked because our daughter gets distracted easy when trying to sleep if there is a lot of noise. Breakfast was decent but my only issues was the door, you have to keep swiping your card to get your door to open. Overall really good stay.
Tony (6/5): - Not very good parking for a boat and truck and I had reservations and I paid 81.00 a night and my buddies came later and got a room next to ours for 61.00 and they even had a bigger room not very happy if that’s how they do business I won’t ever stay there again and I wouldn’t recommend them

Verified traveler (6/5): - this was our second time staying at this hotel. the first time was awesome, the man at the front desk was so nice and accommodating and our room was really nice and everything was really clean . BUT... THIS TIME WAS NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL. we booked online 2 days before. when we got there we wete told they didnt have reservation for us. after some looking they found it then when i gave them my ID, i was told that they dont rent rooms to people who are local, that we have to be at least 35 miles from Jacksonville. we like like 20 miles away and wanted to stay there because we were going to be drinking and didnt want to drive. so after explaining why we needed the room and some more rude comments we were allowed to stay . the women that served us were not very pleasant and made us feel like more of an inconvenience rather thn a payibg customer. but, we were given a room that was not even close to beint as nice as the last time we stayed. it was dark and kinda dinghy. the bathroom wasnt horribible but it wasn't hotel clean. and the showerwas stained and had lime and calcium build up on the bottem of the tub so that is whatmy feet got to soak in while i showered . the main reason i am displeased is because of the service and disrespect we recieved. they could have let us know nicely that next time they would not allow us to stay because we lived to close. I can only imagine thst yh

She simply said it's only 8 stairs. Remote control was missing. Took about 40 minutes to rectify. Lighting too dark to read. Coffee pot was not cleaned after previous guest. Very disappointing experience.

Patti (10/5): Best Value for your Money! A Great Hotel! - We travelled to Jacksonville, IL for a baseball tournament. We couldn't believe how nice this hotel was for the amount of money we paid! I wish we could stay at a place like this everywhere we travelled with out kids for sporting events! This has to be the nicest hotel we have stayed in when it comes to value for your money. The room was very spacious, very clean and the beds were comfortable (love the fact that they are Queen Sized beds versus Double/Full Sized). The price of the room was incredible for the quality of the room! Thank you!
sylvia (6/5): OK but a little creepy. - Desk clerk seemed a bit annoyed that we bothered him to check in. Seems that the complex has apartments as well as motel rooms. Was rather dark outside. On the edge of town near a prison, but not far to food and stores. Had I been alonoe I wouldn't have stayed, but all was OK.

Asked day time staff and was told basically the same thing, was not offered another room or a solution. Heat and AC was controlled by another room. Asked for an ironing board, there was a small one available but no iron. Room was clean, staff was worthless.

Marie (6/5): Needs new cleaning staff - I really wanted to give it 4 or 5 stars because the room had been remodeled, it was inexpensive and a decent place to crash for a quick weekend. However, the bad out weighs the good. First the room had a musty smell to it, there were hairs all over our sheets, and dead bugs in the bathroom. Then to top it all off we found a half eaten cheeseburger under one of the beds. If they had a better cleaning crew, I would have given more stars.

This hotel needs some updating and cleaning!! Carpet was stained and dirty. There was mold in the bathtub. We did see a few bugs on the floors. “Mattress” were hard. We all slept on top of the covers. Great AC. I booked for NON-smoking, but it didn’t matter because the stinch of smoke is smelled throughout the building. I definitely will be scratching this one off the list! Hotel DOES NOT have Iron/Iron board. If you’re considering staying, purchase your own towels as theirs were stained and old.
Verified traveler (4/5): Noisy - They have three buildings and shoved all the guests in one building. The guests above me made noise all night the first night and the second night guests with children were running back and forth in the hall between rooms after midnight.
Ned (2/5): Stay Away! - The door locks don't work properly. The hallways are inhabited by the lingering presence of mold and mildew, which was bad enough, but in the room itself, it was much, much worse. The window, of a below ground room, was cracked, and would not lock. The lid on the toilet, would not stay up, without being physically held. Staying in a non-smoking room, doesn't help much, if the sheets and pillow cases, carry the disgusting stink of cigarettes, however faint, in them. Menacing young men are allowed to patrol the property, creating a shady atmosphere. Get your name off of this one Wyndham, or be prepared for the expense of a total overhaul.

The lower level where we stayed was musty and could be problematic for someone with mildew or mild allergies. The room was clean enough that showering and sleeping didn't worry me, though. We didn't find out until the 2nd morning that breakfast is offered, since it wasn't mentioned during check in. The 2nd day staff was better than the 1st. We've definitely stayed at nicer places for less money and won't stay here again unless it's overhauled.
