Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): - Plenty of parking and cold a/c
- Leo (8/5): - Was clean and rooms are updated. Better than expected for an off brand Motel.
- Daniel (6/5): - The room was clean for an old hotel, no elevator. There was not any coffee on site nor close by. The bed was very soft, not my preference.
- George (10/5): - Very well run and had everything necessary for a motel stay. Staff was helpful and gave good advice about my visit.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overall not too bad - The room was ok, ac worked well and it did look like they cleaned the room. But the bed wasn't that comfortable for us, not enough pillows(we only had 1 pillow each). We did have a couple of ants crawl on my husband while he was laying down and roaches on the desk and bathroom counter. The service was nice. Overall, not really that bad but if there's a next time, we'll be better prepared for the place.
- Teena (8/5): - I did not like a man sleeping outside our room on washer and dryers.
- Michael (10/5): - Great stay
- Ben (10/5): Best Front Desk Person - Michelle the front desk lady was 5star, went out of her way to take care of me and my family and extended famiy
- john (6/5): - ROACHES IN ROOM
ACTUALLY, IN THE BED
- Teena (8/5): - It is convenient and a reasonable price.
- Robina (6/5): - This is a very old facility, and the mattresses were new, but the sheets were old.The pool was green and there was alot of debris stacked everywhere. The young man at the front desk was very polite and I can say that the room was clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for the price - Staff was very nice an accommodating
the bed was a little uncomfortable and the pool was algae green no vending machines either the mini fridge kept the drinks barely cold despite being on coldest setting
Overall not a bad hotel the ac worked great and it was quiet the ice machine worked well and everything was clean
- Cassandra (8/5): - They are working hard on improving the property
Pros:
-Very friendly staff
-hard working crew
-safe parking
-hot coffee in main area of office
-comfy beds for the price you're paying
-working hard to improve themselves
-colleagues report they were way better than their neighbor motel on the bed feel.
Cons:
-soap/body washes etc terrible
-towels/washcloths really rough and itchy
-door I stayed in did not have any extra latches and there was a clear gap in the bottom of the door that I could see outside
-spiders, I can normally handle it but there were lots of spiders in the covers and around that I had to chase out. Multiple days. And I know I saw them cleaning their butts off! :)
- Robert (8/5): - Everything was very good
- Paul (10/5): - Nothing fancy, but a fine room for a rest.
- Ray (10/5): - Very friendly staff
- Melissa (10/5): Great place to stay without breaking the bank! - Checking was easy most hotels don't let you check in until after 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon but they let us check in before then. The manager on duty was very helpful in answering any questions I had. Overall cleanliness was decent. I had a decent amount of towels and washcloths which is something I like to have. If I had to rate My overall experience between a one and a 10 I would give it a 10.
- Danny (10/5): - Would stay there again
- Kieshan (10/5): - One of the best bed i slept on in a long time.
- Barbara (8/5): - In was located in town . That was convenient.
- Fanny (8/5): - Is okay
- Charles (10/5): - Location
- Sherri (4/5): - Updates needed.
- Marcia (6/5): - Staff was helpful and attentive. Pool was not ready for use.
- Craig (6/5): - We have stayed at Western Motel several times over the years, as it is a convenient spot to stay when making a trip to the Okefenokee Swamp. Motel/hotel lodgings are scarce in Folkston, but this motel has always been clean and comfortable, even though dated. If you just need working TV, lights, shower, good towels and a comfortable bed, you should be good to go here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No problems whatsoever. Been to this hotel twice now and have been pleased both times.
- Linda (4/5): - The property was clean but very run down.
- James (8/5): - Good place to rest.
- Denwood (10/5): - Quiet, clean room. Helpful host. Programmed key needed re-program next morning. One electrical outlet held phone phone charger too loosely to allow charge.
- Kaye (10/5): - Older but well kept property. Perfect for attending wedding down the road.
- Robert. (8/5): - There were bugs and some other live critters in the drawer of the night stand. Wife was not happy.
- Gary (8/5): - Its a cheap motel and for the price there aren't any complaints from me.
- Judy (10/5): - It was just one night to break travel. Friendly & welcoming man on reception. Room reasonable size, comfortable beds. No coffee maker but there was a fridge & microwave. OK shower with lots of hot water. Could do with upgrading but OK. Shame pool out of action. Short walk to food outlets but a visit to the Okefenokee national wildlife refuge is a must.
- Debra (4/5): - The place was nasty
- Terri (4/5): - Smells old, needs serious upgrades
- Shanell (10/5): - Great
- John (8/5): I had a good stay at the Western motel. - It's a very clean, quiet, and comfortable little Motel. Mr Pat is a good manager.
- Carlene (8/5): - Manager and personnel were very friendly and helpful
- Frank (6/5): - My only complaint was I was kept in a hot entrance for 10 min while I checked in. It was cool out so I would hate to be I there when it is hot
- Marvin (10/5): Not bad for the price - The hotel is basic but adequate for the price. Don't count on a good wifi connection. Will stay there again for my next quick visit to the Okefenokee Swamp. The young man at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and cheerful.
- Sharon (8/5): - No coffee
- Kathleen (10/5): - Thanks. Near the okefenokee!
- KEVIN (8/5): - Staff courteous, efficient & knowledgeable. Rate and value were consistent. Would stay there again
- James (10/5): - It was fine.
- Teena (10/5): - Giood location !!
- Richard (4/5): - Expensive for the location. No free breakfast. Room had a musty smell. No easy acess to electrical outlets to charge phones and tabets. I will not stay here again
- Frances (6/5): Horrible Wi-Fi - I am very unhappy about my stay here. I was here for a business trip and needed my computer to access the internet to upload my report. I was unable to do so. I ended up being up till 4 am doing the entire report on a CELLPHONE with mobile data! Now they are trying to charge me for an additional day. Not only did I not get the free wi-fi I paid for, now, they think they can charge me an additional $95! I will not pay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Eh - Service was great! The motel however needs lots of work. Needs major update and a good clean
- Peter (10/5): - Was a very nice place to stay. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly!
- David (6/5): - Not entirely their fault, TV and Internet not working properly owing to recent storm
- James (10/5): Quick Stop - My flight from Detroit to Atlanta was cancelled by Delta Airlines and I ended up renting a car and driving over 18 hours. Only hotel I could look up that wasn't price gouging. My debit card was being declined by my bank at check in for security purposes. The man who checked me in was very kind and patient allowing me to use the lobby to call my bank which took two calls, twenty minutes, and 4 more tries to process. The bed was very comfortable. It's an older property but it was clean and very convenient to the Florida line the next morning.
- Don (2/5): - The room was not clean at all. Bugs and mold in the room.
- Constantin (8/5): - In the middle of everything.
Old but clean and comfortable furniture.
- brent (6/5): - Room was stale used a lot of ozium air pure fire. Light switches dirty
- Bedford (4/5): Expectations did not run high ... - It would be unfair to expect a motel in backwoods Georgia to be like a large chain facility in a metropolitan area. Based on vehicles in the parking lot, there were only three or four rooms occupied in the place during my entire stay. This did look like the better of the places available to stay in Folkston.
That said, the furniture was beaten and worn, looked like circa 1960. I found myself killing roaches as they crawled onto the table and across the floor. To get the light over the sink to work you first turned on the switch and then adjusted the bulb to make connection. The wifi was spotty, sometimes going out. Cell service was zero bars most the time. The signal on the TV was fuzzy and sometimes just not worth looking at.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - it was clean. a little bit dated but fine for Folkston. very quiet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The motel was clean, neat and quiet! I got a good nights rest and was very pleased.
- Stanley (6/5): Expected better for $90 - Basic room. Pizza & salad left in refrigerator from previous guest. No coffee maker in room & hair dryer did not work. No breakfast! Smokers & drinkers next door sitting outside room half of night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel was very clean. Staff was excellent to deal with. Arrived late and had no problems with owners. Will stay here again. Very friendly staff and right on main road.
- Douglas (8/5): One of the closest hotels to Okeefenokee Swamp - This was a nice hotel but marred but hotel customers smoking everywhere. Hotel customers were smoking outside their rooms (as likely required by law), but that meant that they were smoking everywhere around us: above (on the terrace above), right, and left. I guess this isn't the responsibility of the hotel, but just an indication of the types of r**d***k people living and traveling in this area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great service and cleaning. Had a great time and we would say again
