Guest Reviews
- Linda (6/5): Not what we hoped for. - We were disappointed almost as soon as we entered our room. Although it was clean, it was crammed full of furniture with little floor space. The bathroom sink did not drain. We were told by the owner that previous customers had poured cereal and coffee grounds down the sink.
It would have been preferred that she had assigned a different room if she knew that.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Feel like home - I enjoyed my stay here a lot. The room itself is very clean and cozy. I do feel like I was staying in a friend's. The environment is also nice. Nice and safe little town and nice tenants. Conveniently located close to many gorgeous NY State Parks.
The Inn owner Kim is so considerate! The two beds and the pillows in the room are in different firmness, so I can choose whichever I like! When she tried to answer one of my questions, she texted me instead of calling me because she know I was driving and really cared about my safety. She knows a lot about the nice places around the area.
I would definitely stay in the Inn again if I go to Finger Lakes region in the future.
- JB (4/5): Run down and tired - No A/C; thin towels; lumpy sagging bed; flannel sheets in summer!
- Verified traveler (4/5): WOW o WOW!!! - Very disappointed in this Inn. VERY old and outdated. Room was just stuffed with furniture (queen bed, twin bed and a large sofa, refrigerator, television and a chest of drawers). There was a ceiling fan as well as a pedestal fan running for air. While the bathroom was clean, it was just plain OLD. Also no way to get any ice. Very unorthodox way of checking in - owner came to your room - no official office. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
- Patrick (10/5): Great place, even better price - We recently stayed at the Cohocton Valley Inn while visiting family. It's a small, family run inn with just a few rooms. It's safe and very quiet. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have everything you need, but they aren't fancy or updated. The owner is extremely helpful and responsive without being intrusive. It's in a small, quiet town, relatively close to some of the area attractions such as wineries and state parks. For the price point you won't do better in the area.
- Edmond (10/5): happy times - great place
great staff
happy times
- Vladimir (10/5): Nice hotel to stay. - Second time to stay on the hotel. Everything perfect.
- Jennifer S (10/5): Wonderful customer service - I didn't actually make it to Cohocton Valley Inn because of major issues in transit. However, the owner was so pleasant and accommodating when I had to cancel at the last minute. I can't comment on the inn but the service was top notch in my experience.
- Robert (10/5): Convenient to Finger Lakes sightseeing & spotless - It's not fancy, but the room has a homey decor and is spotless. The owner takes great pride in making sure you're comfortable.
- Stephen (6/5): Slept good. - This a very simple & comfortable spot.
- Frederic (10/5): A quiet, remote place - I was pleasantly surprised when the host called me to check on our arrival and make sure everything would be ready and ensure an easy check-in experience.
On arrival, we were greeted by people, not staff, which made it feel very human. The hosts are very knowledgeable of this beautiful region and gave us many tips on things to do in the area during our stay.
The room has a homey feel, with chairs in the front under the porch to hang out under the quiet star-filled sky. They have some lovely chill cats hanging in the garden. If you like cats, you can pet them, if not, they'll do their own thing.
All-in-all, this is a remote hotel for a perfect getaway from big cities.
- Patrick (10/5): Just What You Need! - I was on a long car ride for business. Cohocton was a half-hour shy of my final destination. I could have continued to be in yet another cookie-cutter hotel room with amenities I would not use. The reviews for this inn were so good I thought, "Why not?" It was perfect. Just what I needed. Nothing more, nothing less. Nice clean room. Hot shower in the morning. Cup of coffee in the morning before I was on my way. No waffle machine was a big plus! Hostess could not have been nicer. I promised I would stay there again when my business brought me back.
- David (10/5): A hidden gem - The room was charming in a bed and breakfast sort of way. The proprietor, Kim was very friendly and even called while I was on the way to confirm our arrival. It was the perfect place to stay over while picking up my son from SUNY Geneseo; reasonably priced and even a bit closer than the low end motels in Henrietta, NY, but much nicer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful Stay! - Very comfortable bed. The manager was incredibly accommodating of my strange schedule. Kind and efficient. Everything was clean and nicely arranged. Thank you!
- Ian (10/5): Watkins Glen getaway - Only stayed one night.
A nice clean, friendly, budget motel.
Older but well maintained property.
- Siddhartha (10/5): Homely hotel - The hotel is a little old but the rooms are clean and feels homely. The owner is very friendly and cares for customers.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place! - The room was nice and cozy (and the wifi was great, too). The owner, was very helpful in helping us figure out where to eat that night and the next morning when we left.We had a quiet room with a pretty view.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Quite, old style inn - The room was clean and comfortable. Even though there was no air conditioning, it was cool with the window fan. The daytime temp was in the high 80s. The queen size bed, with one side up against the wall made it a bit of a chore to get up during the night
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent accommodation for such a small town. - Very pleased with the facility. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was more than helpful with recommendations for restaurants and nearby attractions. Would recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The owner is very friendly. The room although it looks clean, the bed near the windows has a strong smell of mold, therefor
one hardly slept.
