- Terereawai (1/5): - Not much The whole experience. Elevator was broken, room was cold, beds were uncomfortable, TV was broken and when it did go limited channels.

The room was disgusting, so dirty, stove was rusty and dirty benches all chipped water damage falling apart, holes in walls rotten, water dripping marks down walls you could see these had been used in covid. Should not be able to be advertised so miss leading the photos on add. Lights hanging out of roof curtains held on by cable ties. No smoke alarms just where one was. Letting them advertise on your site is bad. Osh should be notified rails up 3rd floor rusty disgusting. Owners did not care. I have many photos but do not know how to attach. We were there two hours just sitting on beds in shock really while partner went to try find other accommodation. They agreed to refund one night. As they could not fill the night we left. Went past an hour later they had someone else there. So so disappointed please follow this up not good for booking site and just so misleading.

- peterwZ5420BP (2/5): Unable to stay, currently claiming for refund via Disputes Tribunal NZ - All 5 of us itching and scratching within minutes. The ceiling of room 2 is bowed and cracked , soon to reveal its contents. The spa was a filthy mess of stains, ditto the bedspreads and what was that yellow liquid on the walls. The alarm went off and we needed to stay to say goodbye to the caretakers. In return they refused our request for a full refund as we had stayed 2 hours. Run as fast and as far away as possible. It is a filthy decrepit hotel that needs to be condemned. The thermal spa they advertise even today has not been available for years. That is fraudulent.

The place needs alot of TLC such as cracks in ceilings, holes in doors, and it was a bit musty too - maybe upgrade the TV to smart

An extra pillow or two would have been nice. Location was handy to town. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a simple meal. We had a new fridge and toaster. It was a little noisy - road and other people around. We were in the front part of the motel, opening the window to our the back, the place looked like it was falling down! A lot of work needed. A power point wasn't working and some of the window latches were a bit dodgy. I would never swim in the spa. It was run down and needed some serious work.

- Michal (1/5): Nejsem pes abych spal v hnusné psí boudě - Lokalita Špinavý, zapáchající pokoj, se starým opotřebeným vybavením, prokopnutými dveřmi do koupelny které nešly zavřít, stará odřená vana a rozpadající se okenní rámy v koupelně. Fotografie z internetové nabídky neodpovídají realitě a jsou tak 15 let staré! Po dvou hodinách pobytu jsme utekli do jiného hotelu, protože jsme tento pokoj už zaplatili předem na dvě noci.

- Roz (1/5): Total one long night of regret - and wasted money - Nothing at all. The photo and the place do not match, we arrived late would not have stayed there if i knew where i was we booked and paid two night, did not stay the second night, left first thing in the morning - went to the supermarket and brought Glen 20 spray emptied the can everywhere including the sheets and beds. Bathroom was disgusting, Kitchen was dirty floors bench and dishes table all dirty. Spa was dirty - just so dirty Floor wasn't vacuumed, asked office to come and vacuum. Glasses left form prior guests, still in the room was not worth the money. Booked into another motel, I wish i had read the reviews this place should be closed or a high-pressure hose taken to the rooms

This place needs to be condemned, it is dirty and there obviously hasn't been any maintenance since who knows when, the room was literally falling apart. The owner should be ashamed and the cleaners sacked. Never ever again, stay well clear.

Every thing in the room were rotten, cabinets, doors, floors etc. Beds, sheets not clean, I found hairs and markes on the sheets. Everything was awful. I never recommend this motel to anyone.

Not all switches in the room had power, and the bathroom was blocked. They didn't provide any shampoo or soap, and there was no heater or air conditioner. Overall, it felt like a waste of money. The staff were as unhelpful as the motel itself. The place was unhygienic and not suitable for families.

Dirty and stained chair covers, tea towels, rusted out microwave, illegal set up for smoke alarm. Caked on dust on fan. Toilet that wouldn’t flush the paper down. Spa in attached back room was not working we were told which was ok, but there were other peoples thongs and buckets of water out there!

Windows didn’t close properly, spa bath enamel was chipped. window sill in bathroom chipped. Old fixtures still in wall. The mineral pool wasn’t working. Water pressure in the shower over bath was poor. Very disappointed in the amount of money I paid for this vs what I received.

The kitchen was dirty, top of draws and cupboards filthy, stained couch, no light bulbs, and sharing with coach’s. The sheets and towels were ok as they must have come from a laundry. The fridge did work that was a bonus. Do not stay here.

- Tim (1/5): A dystopian adventure – perfect if you're writing a horror novel, less so if you're on holiday. - The pictures online were creative – a masterpiece of fiction! Also, we eventually found another hotel nearby that reminded us what decency looks like. Where to start? No hot water (a heads-up would have been great), an elevator that doubles as a thrill ride, and a room that looks like it moonlights as a crime scene. Stains on the bedding, a collapsing ceiling, a mouldy shower, and a kitchen in shambles. Our daughter, in the middle of summer, refused to sleep in anything other than a full tracksuit, hoodie, and socks—because no one wanted to touch anything. Oh, and that pool they advertise? It's not so much "broken" as "entombed." It took weeks of persistence to get a refund for the nights we didn’t stay, and they flatly refused to discount the one traumatic night we endured.

I booked a hotel with mineral pools, but when we arrived the pools weren't working. It would have been good to know this on their website as I wouldn't have booked. The room was tidy although very run down, I didn't think it was worth the price for us all. Pillows were very uncomfortable.

- Lisa (4/5): - Property is dilapidated and needs serious maintenance and revamping. Seemed as though there were long term residents occupying rooms and communal spaces. Rooms were much too expensive for the state they were in.
- Wayne (1/5): Shocking - Nothing Worst motel ever stayed in NZ. Overpriced at $275. Partial refund would be in order. Everything. This place needs to be demolished.
- Chandra (5/5): Hotel Needs Renovation- Not Value for Money - Very center location to amenities The hotel itself needs a major renovation, if people are thinking of just staying for overnight, it should do the work but equipments and furniture's are very old.
- Nakita (2/5): - This place was absolutely disgusting!!! The bathroom was covered in mould and the kitchen was just as gross. The floor was not clean. The website says pool and spam these were both closed for whatever reason. The place is an absolute disgusting mess!!

- Megan (4/5): Needs better management - Location is great, easy walk to many facilities and nature walks. Rooms were spacious and the jetted bath a treat. The mineral pool was out if service and no adjustments to the cost was given. The last time we stayed here the mineral pool was literally boiling hot. Disappointing they advertise it still and it's not open. Additionally there was a group of people loud throughout the night. Specifically around 3am. We couldn't reach anyone at the reception. The parking spots need to be allocated because the one in front of our room was taken and at midnight they turned in the car and woke us with their lights shining through the curtains.

- A (1/5): AWFUL - It was close to the venue It was filthy and I had to clean it myself with disinfectant. Smelly. I want a refund - I could not stay there another night and left. It was a nightmare to stay there. It was not what is advertised. False advertising. KNOCK THE PLACE DOWN. IT WAS SOCIAL HOUSING. THE MANAGER SAID IT WAS NOT. AND THE PARKING HE TRIED TO MAKE ME PARK MY CAR IN THE NARROWIST OF SPACES - I DID NOT.

- Destiny_beautiful (1/5): Bad - I found heaps of cockroach everywhere, couldn't sleep properly bed was so uncomfortable had neck and back pains all night, it was very staffy and hot ,moist damage on the bathroom wall and the spa bath was dirty

Would not recommend this place. - Location was convenient The photos of the room showed that the spa wasn’t working, which was fair - but it didn’t show how disgusting the spa floor was. The room was also infested with cockroaches, and when I showed evidence to the worker and explained the situation, he said that cockroaches come out at night and reassured me that they clean it every day. The sink was rusty, and the window cills were covered in dust. The fridge had cockroaches both in and under it, and the fan in the room didn’t work at all, which was tough because the room was burning hot most of the time.

- Hineroa (1/5): Very poor services, especially with a name like Gateway International Motel. - Location. Close to our event and access was very good Services was very poor. The guy at reception was on the phone constantly to some one else. Didn't give his attention to customer services. Had the sign-in process done, and had his phone attended to his ears, didn't provide me with the key had to ask for the key and then he couldn't find it. He had to go to the drop off 'keybox' outside to get the key. Then I had to ask where my room was, as I've never used this hotel before. And his response was out there using his thumb to indicate where it was. Almost 'losing my cool', and in a hard tone asked 'where out there' and he still pointed with his thumb, and he said, out there in the second floor, Didn't refer to the lift or access to the second floor. he wasn't helpful at all. We came to this hotel because it was marketing, that in had an inside spa, and it had two beds in the room. The Spa did have hot water so that we could use the spa. the Room was cold and it had a radiator heater near the wall with a kitchen table up against with the TV screen on the table. And the cords and multi plug box was dagling from the wall socket with the TV screen cord plugged into it. Very dangerous, poor health and safety consideration around electricity. We came back from our event and it was very cold that evening and so was our room. Before 9pm and asked for extra bankets and pillows. Another person served me, and he said no to my request to have extra blankets and pillows. I had to insist, and repeated myself several time, and finally he reluctantly agreed. Very poor service, i will not be using this motel again. and i will make sure none of my family and friends use it too. Bit annoyed with myself as I should had taken photos of the persons serving me and the other attended and should have taken photos of the room and the cords.
