Guest Reviews
- SHARMIELAH (3/5): - NA Door had issues, had to use the bedside table to block the door once I was inside, struggled to get in. The pictures on the website and the actual room I had was not the same. Had to wash my cups in the bathroom sink and get water from there. Notified duty manager, solution was to access another room just to use the cooking facilities and kitchen sink but no hot water either. Moved bedside table, vapes and papers behind it, just filthy.
- WENDY (4/5): - The picture at the top of this survey is not the correct motel. There is no reception, the motel across the street is used. No-one was there, and it took 25 minutes to get the key. The room was very cold, as there was a huge gap between the door and the walls. The fridge froze our food solid. The stove controls did not work. There was no electric kettle/jug to boil water.
- Andrew (6/5): - Location was handy, building is in need of renovations, unpleasant smell in room - musty, leak in the bathroom no plugs in either sink
- REX (4/5): - No reception facilities. Had to ring to get internet password. Shower was filthy. Toilet leaked onto bathroom floor. Room stunk of stale smoke. Cigarette butts were strewn across the room's doorway entrance way and we were 'visited' around 9.30pm by what we believe was a 'permanent guest' at the place, seeking to purchase cigarettes from us...We dont recommend this motel at all and certainly will not be staying there ever again.
- jamecia (4/5): - So we were in number 5 and omg the stains on the bed was disgusting... fresh paint ? Not so good for my daughter... tape still around the bathroom taps from the paint ? Nothing to wash our dishes with.. just wasnt as good as i have stayed at this hotel before and wasnt excepting the putcome of the room to be so bad... maybe check the rooms before givinf out the keys
- Sofia (4/5): Not good - Nothing Everything
- jamecia (10/5): - Nice
- Stu (7/5): Good - Sam was so good to us as the ferry was late again. Thanks mate
- Robert (8/5): - property very dated
weird arrangement with reception, they arrived from a third property, after we went to reception at a second (across the road)
3 out of the seven lights actually work.
it was ok - for the price i was probably expecting too much - it was cheap.
- jamecia (10/5): - Nice spot
- jamecia (10/5): - Nice spot,
- Cherie (3/5): Disappointed - Not alot Dirty shower, which I refused to shower in and the milk was off
And a large white man neighbor that took it on himself to bang on my door, to say hello, that wasn't acceptable behavior
- Rosemay (1/5): Bad - Absolutely nothing 😖 We were a group of 3 and not happy at all with 1 double bed only and no other sleeping arrangement whatsoever. The room was very musty. If not for the help to reallocate to the motel across the road, the remarks would have been far worse.
- Tuterangi (8/5): Very good -
- David (1/5): House of horrors... - The fact we didn't stay there and we didn't contract something after walking into and out of the unit.
That after contacting the owners, we got a room at the motel across the road they also own. It was in a far better state than what we just walked out of. The smell, the musty damp. It was filthy. It was the worst motel unit we have ever entered.
The unit @ Champers was cleaner, but still not great. Place needs maintenance.
I had repair the shower fitting so we could use it. The duvet cover showed very obvious signs of semen stains. Thankfully the night was warm and we didn't need to use it.
- Roanna (1/5): Don’t stay here not even 1 Star, save money by staying somewhere else - Nothing, would not recommend anyone stay there, dirty, smelly not a great area. The rooms smelt, carpet old and dirty, marks and whole in the wall.
Bathroom mouldy
- Carla (5/5): Would Not recommend - Location was fine while traveling. Easier to get the key at check in. First off it was hard to find someone to check in with It was closed and looked abandoned, ended finding a note to go across the street to a different Hotel to find it was closed as well. Was really weird. We were in the stated checkin times. We had Int'l phones so it made it hard to try and call the numbers to only get NO ONE. Had to find a local person to call. Finally a worker unlocked the door after saying they just happened to get something , but they did help us. The shower was clogged, filled with water, GROSS!!!! A better working shower, and cleaner.
- Naseem (7/5): Fine easy to move around - Location was fine n staff were helpful including manager n cleaning staff. Yes it looks like empty
- Gabrielle (2/5): Very poor - The room smelt, the bathroom needed a thorough clean (corners were fill of dirt) and the sink had a crack in it.
- Heather (6/5): Pleasant - Bathroom wasn’t deep cleaned, and the toilet seat was broken, the bed base had a tear in it.
- Malcolm (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (3/5): Poor, the worst place I have ever stayed. - The bed was not to bad. Met no staff, had to pick up key out of a lock box. Room was very messy, not had a good clean in a while. Draw had old bits of grated cheese, ceiling corners had cobwebs and spiders. Plates were not very clean, knife was rusty. Carpet had about 8 stains on it. Bathroom was not that clean, toilet seat was coming off, cold tap in bathroom was loose and moved around, lino on floor lifting. Every surface needed a good dust, light shades needed cleaning. The gardens were over grown with weeds, and mailbox was broken and mai wet laying in garden. Grounds had rubbish blowing around. For price was not expecting a super flash place, but clean and tidy would have been nice.
- Sharma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anahera (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (2/5): - Was absolutely disgusting, I felt sick and so unsafe. Looked like someone was living there and they left so we could stay the night. Bathroom was gross. There was a drug smoking party in next room and our door looked like it had been kicked in at some point.
- Catherine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Baumann (7/5): Good -
- Michael (1/5): Never ever stay again you need to monitor the people you allow to stay as you are endangering peop - Worst experience ever. Having to deal with disgusting tenants being disturbed all hours of the night. I left four days early as could not sleep nor felt safe. I have repeatedly requested the refund and intend to take this further if not credited back to credit card
- Ian (8/5): - Communication could be improved around late check in
- John (2/5): Not again - What breakfast There wasn't mush to like.
Just getting service when I arrived was hopeless,
Car park not designed for caravan.
Cleanliness disgusting.
1 towel supplied, no bath mat, face cloth.
No information sheet on room or area.
- Lett (6/5): it was a good location and good price for the time i was there but was unsure about the staff coming into my room while - it was good a value that the staff came into the motel while i was out and i didn’t know till i got back i don’t know if this is normal but it’s never happened to me before in any other motel ive been too
- Elsie (2/5): The bed was nice. - Didn't have breakfast, very upset with the room, bathroom look liked it hadn't been cleaned No tea towel ot hand towel available. Over all though the room was being renovated and was made ready because a booking mistake had been made. Everything needed attention. The whole complex needs renovation.
- Sam (1/5): Regretful! Waste of money! - Nothing!! Beds hard, tattered & torn pillows hard, fridge leaking, people upstairs walking round all night/morning roof creaked, door huge gaps around it, microwave dirty, elements in kitchen didn't work, tv had 5 channels all no1 would watch, room smelled like wet paint. Bathroom wasn't cleanest. Carpet had debris an left my white socks dirty. Main office located across the road at another motel. Managed to get 1 hr sleep prior to return travel home. Wasn't impressed. Later found out Abbeycourt used mainly for emergency housing & yet nothing disclosed on site. No aircon, & heater looked like it was thrown from upstairs
- Jan-Phillip (2/5): - After get the key for a bad smelling room, I had a closer look. Shower full of hairs (looks like last cleaning was done month ago). There was no bin, everything looks old and a dirty. Bedaheets dirty as well. The door can not be locked. Every Camping ground ist better than this and even cheaper! I'm not picky at all but this place is a No-Go!
- Simon (5/5): Passable -
- Lynne (6/5): - What I didn’t like was that the shower had not been cleaned properly and there was grease on shower door bathroom corners were dusty but the beds were comfortable
- Wayne (10/5): Happy with our stay - Ve4y happy with the service All good
- Trudie (3/5): Amazing staff very helpful - Staff where very understanding and helpful when brought up issues, moved us to there other motel when couldn’t be fixed Elements didn’t work, no rubbish bin, no hot water, staff where very helpful
- Bajwa (4/5): Disappointing -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Isobel (2/5): - Awful accommodation (tatty, dirty, noisy heater, very noisy plumbing, gaps around door letting neighbours smoke and cold air in, poorly maintained furniture and carpet). Mostly seems occupied by long term social housing resident and there is no manager on site. It is cheap (of course) and in a very useful location, but why don't they make an effort???
- Nadezda (9/5): Superb -
- Vaine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Fetuao (10/5): Will certainly be back - Comfortable Nothing
- Dorothy (6/5): - Was good other then mattresses on beds need replacing and had no oven in one room for cooking other room had no kitchen sink or oven hops for cooking just had jug and toaster
Frige in one room froze everything
- Verified traveler (4/5): Hard to sleep, average parking - Toilet dribbled all night keeping me awake. Ceiling made a lot of noise from people walking around upstairs. Very few car parks and they were very tightly bunched together. The fee was a little cheaper than others on the market but the condition of the unit was well below what I expected.
- Dorothy (6/5): Good for price. - Good price, comfortable. No electric blanket however. Would stay again.
- Mikes (8/5): - Nice little motel if you have a car, just a bit far to walk to the shops/restaurants at night.
If I had business in the Hutt I'd stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close to everything. Clean. - Overall good. Better heating would be good and a information folder in the room would be helpful.
- Francis (6/5): nice to be able to check in in the morning - We arrived 8 am in the morning the staff was kind enough to let us check in right away and have a good sleep that was a bonus. The blanket in the room was too thin and they don't have a thicker one so we have to turn the heater up high and the air becomes too dry. The phone in the room didn't work on the first day so we have missed out on friend's call. Overall at $115 a night there are better values elsewhere.
