Guest Reviews
- THOMAS (10/5): -
- Anyta (9/5): - Great place, good overnight stay, lovely staff, so accommodating and helpful. Room was large and bright with 2 small double beds, which were clean and comfortable. Shower was good. Tea coffee facilities. Amazing Chinese take away next door đ
Would definitely stay again in that area. Steps up to accommodation were steep and better lighting at night would help.

- Derek (5/5): The bed was clean and comfortable. The room was a little chilli. The shower drain needed a clean. - No breakfast The steps up to the room

- stephen Eames (10/5): Itâs a little gem of a place. Self contained apartment buildings behind the bar and well equipped. - Great location . Upon arrival staff are friendly and very welcoming. No dislikes
- Michelle (7/5): -
- Saleem (1/5): Not impressed - The rooms were very basic no iron room at the top very narrow stairs and with luggage is difficult
- Moin (8/5): -
- Dave (8/5): Brilliant all round overnight stay. - Super friendly staff. Made us feel very welcome in the bar area.
- Karl (9/5): -
- Jeff (10/5): - The little pub there on site was quite nice with live music and friendly people
- Gareth (10/5): A very pleasurable stay . A warm welcome and nice people . I would stay again for sure - Friendly and clean Nothing
- Fereshteh (9/5): - Comfortable and quiet, perfect place after a long journey and full day work Adjusting the shower was difficult
- Ali (10/5): - Stuff is the best look after you and I had very good experience thanks
- Mark (8/5): -
- Hunt (5/5): Coast Path - Bath rather than shower
A real ale Approach steps/lighting
No longer a restaurant (and not much else available on a Monday)
- Heather (9/5): Great self-contained, pet-friendly en-suite room - Very nice quiet location apart from some kind of fan that was on the wall next door that made quite a lot of noise and stopped me falling asleep for a while. Apart from that everything was very comfortable. Excellent value for money too. See above re fan noise. It was a bit hard to find the entrance but that was soon resolved by the staff.
- Ali (10/5): -
- Richard (7/5): -
- wendy (8/5): - Big room, big beds Wifi intermittent
- Thomas (10/5): Friendly staff, lovely place to stay - Nicely placed for what I needed and decently priced too compared to other places I looked at, room was lovely, bed comfy too, plenty of tea and coffee too unlike other hotels that donât give enough in rooms Nothing
- Ali (10/5): - The stuff is amazing they look after you. I had a beautiful time. Thanks
- Ford (10/5): - The Landlady & her staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was ideal, large, and spacious.
Very dog friendly. Ideal for walks along the river Nene.
- Sylvia (9/5): Excellent value for money, good facilities, with a friendly welcome.ly - Convenient location for my appointment in the area. Parking was easy and free. The Manager/Owner was friendly and welcoming and so helpful. Although there was no restaurant, there was a Chinese Takeawy next door (which was very good). The room was perfect, with everything I needed, clean, large, with a huge shower area in the ensuite and a very comfy bed (there were 2 beds). There's a dining area - where I ate my takeaway, although I could have eaten it in the bar. There's secure rear access so I could walk my dog before bed and a lovely walk around the area with him in the morning. It was excellent value for money. There was nothing I could fault really. A microwave available in the kitchen/dining area would be an added bonus.
- Gradley (8/5): Was ok but had no breakfast - Not to far No breakfast
- Lee (1/5): Dirty, noisty, smelly - no idea how this has high reviews - This is a complete dive of a hotel bar avoid it, there is nothing good - rooms are directly above the main bar To get to your room you enter the bar and can smell smoke immediately..then you go via the kitchen and up some stairs to the room directly above the bar. Open the windows and people outside smoking and talking. Karaoke starts are 7pm and lasts to 12 so don't expect any sleep as the room is directly above the speaker. It's a really dirty horrible place just avoid at all costs - the owners won't even refund you any of this if you complain - it's expected that you like this.

- L-a (8/5): Great for our needs - Double beds in a twin room was unexpected bonus. Really good value, a big event at Sandringham meant the area was very busy and prices higher, this felt like a bargain. Clean, basic decor. The night entrance was a bit tricky to find and could do with a sign maybe. I would recommend leaving via the back gate to get your bearings.
- Sean (8/5): - Very good value room, comfortable bed, good cleanliness. Everything i needed. Nothing.
- Peter (9/5): - Very clean. And beer before bed.

- Olutayo (8/5): Riverside Hotel is a nice place to stay, it is very neat and the staffs are good. - Riverside Hotel is a nice place to stay, it is very neat and the staffs are good.
- Wendy (4/5): Too expensive for its isolated location - The room was nice. Staff were kind. The location. Itâs stuck at the back of a bar. No parking at the back as it was a private street. Too expensive
- Chappell (10/5): Absolutely amazing, was lovely to have a glass of wine before heading up to my room, staff who showed me to my room was - The room was beautiful and more than big enough!! Nothing
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Staff were brilliant, rooms absolutely fine and clean. For this price, nothing really
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Tracy (1/5): Not good need to state not suitable for disabled - The property was lovely but I had put I am disabled and asked for ground floor. Was never told their was no ground floor and that itâs not suitable for disabled people their are lots of stairs I had paid for two nights but only stayed one because I couldnât do the stairs . If it wasnât for that then itâs ok stay the room was very clean shower was great but the door on toliet dosnt shut.
As for the stairs their a flight on the out side which I fell on and realised I couldnât do another night their think booking.com needs to state this.
- William (10/5): Great service with comfortable room, will use again. Thank you! - Great experience with friendly staff upon arrival. Excellent value for money@ All good!
- Zohair (10/5): Worth visiting - Everyday someone cleans the room and take the rubish out
I stayed for 3 night and it was a good experience
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (7/5): Much better than expected - The lady who booked us in was very polite and welcoming. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable and the shower was massive. Overall the facilities were great for what we paid. The back gate was a bit flimsy with the locking system and it didnât feel as secure as some other places and you have to walk through an alley (well lit alley) between peoples houses to get to it but this is a very minor inconvenience.
- Vivienne (5/5): Clean but inadequate for stay. - Convenience of the property near my Dad's home as he was end of life. Reasonable price. It was clean. Friendly staff. Didn't provide breakfast, though, to my knowledge, and I couldn't get through to the pub in the morning to find. I'm glad I took readybrekk. Didn't like having to walk down the back alley at night, although it was well lit. I was cold overnight. Draft coming under the door. Window was broken so unable to open it, which would have been a problem if there was a fire as I was on the 3rd floor.
Finally, as a female guest, I was shocked there was no mirror in the room for me to be able to straighten my hair, etc. There was a mirror in the bathroom, but nowhere to plug in anything, and my lead wouldn't have reached into the bathroom without an ext lead. Clearly only used to male workers as a stop over
- Catherine (7/5): Functional - Close to A17, clean and spacious. No hairdryer
- Rebecca (6/5): You get what you pay for. This was cheap so I didnât expect anything more. It was a place to put my head down whilst vis - Clean and comfortable bed. Access the room through the bar and then the kitchen! Very steep external stairs were a bit slippery. Black mould in the shower.
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Mepham (8/5): Very good -
- Graham (9/5): Superb - Great friendly place I've stayed at a number of times. Basic comfortable room good shower. Ideal for when I'm visiting family in the area Nothing I dislike at all
- Georgie (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (9/5): Suited our purpose of visiting friends and will def use again đ - Easy to find. Friendly helpful staff, would definitely stay again. Nothing
- Serena (8/5): Very good -
- William (8/5): Very good - The staff and customers were friendly and helpful beyond expectations.carrying our baggage to our accommodation . Nothing, except my father had an accident at 4 am .We had to call 999 which was along time coming bearing in mind he is 93 yrs old.
- GĂŒrkan (8/5): Very good - Quiet and silent Weak wifi signals
- Prole (10/5): brilliant service nice staff clean rooms - the rooms are spacious and clean and tidy nothing everything was good
- Mattie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Raymond (9/5): Superb - Very good value for money, it was a clean, comfortable en suite room with two double beds. Check in was easy at the bar with friendly staff, would definitely stay here again!
- Adrian (8/5): Very good -
- Melvyn (8/5): A quiet backwater of Lincolnshire - Clean well-equipped room with en-suite bath and shower looking to the rear
Helpful staff
Delightful traditional pub
Interesting riverside walks A long walk around the block to my car parked in front of a derelict building with no lighting
- Henry (6/5): Handy for a stopover but not so handy in other ways - There was no breakfast and the little cafe next door was shut. I don't see why what in effect is a public house could not provide a simple breakfast or even the means to make one but of course this is basically a pub where overnight accommodation is a side issue and one is perhaps regarded as surplus to the main activities What I liked were the cleanliness of the modernised bedroom and the convenient situation of the establishment near the Sutton bridge. There was a very good restaurant about a mile up the road towards Long Sutton. See the above
- Clare (5/5): Clean tidy room, a mission to get to the rooms upstairs , good for a short visit - Lovely centre location ,friendly staff , quiet property after closing time , but a nice low key pub Access to the room was up a very step two flight of stairs , which outside is wooden stairs which were wet and tricky to climb with a few bags , tricky .. once in the room it was very nice and a large room , the bathroom was also very clean but had a bit of black mould round the shower tray and tiles , no heating in the room radiators off and unable to turn them on as all fixtures were missing and no controls to sort this ( chilly night )
- Courtney (8/5): Very good - lovely property perfect stay for visiting the family
- AndrĂ© (7/5): Clean and pleasant stay in a slightly boring neighborhood - Spacious room, comfortable, quiet at the back of the pub. Thereâs not much atmosphere in the neighborhood so itâs just good for overnight.
- Margaret (8/5): Very good -
- Mepham (9/5): Was so surprised at the size and comfort of the room. Will definitely be booking again. - Beautiful room. Large and roomy. Clean and modern and fully equipped.
Was extremely happy with my stay. Staff very accommodating and always pleasant. Nothing
- Ben (8/5): Very good - Shower wasn't the best
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- James (9/5): Superb - Beds clean fresh comfy .
Friendly staff . Bar great . Good old fashioned place . Near the river lovely Nothing everybody everything great
- Anzelika (8/5): ok for one-night stay - The room is spacious and very clean, with comfortable and soft bedding. Our room had two beds, but we only used one. Thereâs tea and coffee available, soft towels and the Wi-Fi is free. As a place just to spend the night, itâs really quite good. There are parking spaces, and you donât need to pay for them. The administrator was very nice and showed me everything. The atmosphere is quite gloomy, and the entrance to the hotel is through a tunnel, which was a bit unsettling. It would be nice to have a rug by the bed. Donât forget to bring your own slippers, as well as shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, and toothpaste. I wouldnât say this is bad, but I probably just wasnât paying attention and missed this detail.
- Szerena (9/5): Returning customer , great overnight stay - Friendly, approachable staff, clean and comfortable room . Convenient check in and out times.
- Lorraine (8/5): Good for our two night stay. - Stated in the chalets at the back of the pub, so had own back entrance to use and didn't need to go through the pub. It was quiet and peaceful. The shower was good and water hot.
- Carol (7/5): Good - Great hospitality Didn't expect the moving of barrels and flushing of pipes on the opposite wall at 7.30 on a Sunday morning. Apart from that had a good stay!
- Carolyn (10/5): Exceptional - I loved it here. We stayed out the back of the pub, which was great. The room was so clean, with 2 double beds and spacious. Had WiFi, which was a little slow. Had an area outside our room to sit in the sun. The only criticisms are, could do with more cutlery, only had 1 teaspoon and an anti slip mat for the shower
- Cole (10/5): Stay - The lady behind the bar was so helpfull. Leaving
- Nicolas (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (9/5): Superb - This is great accommodation and exceeds expectations. Really clean, great welcome. Great price.
- John (7/5): Good -
- Nicholas (8/5): Great - Did the job for our contractor , no complaints great value for ÂŁ
- Jason (9/5): Superb - Easy no hassle room, very clean ,basic and uncluttered.plenty of room for me and my needs There wasn't anything I didn't actually like, the room was perfect for my needs ,a base while working away from home, a place to sleep...flash hotels don't actually make you sleep any better in my opinion . a good straight forward no frills budget hotel and realistically priced.I would recommend.
- Craig (10/5): Night stay for work found all staff and customers very polite and friendly. Room was spotless would definitely recommend - Brilliant atmosphere Nothing
