Guest Reviews
- Tony (5/5): - Friendly

- Floris (6/5): - Ruime kamer Mega goor, personeel kon niet of nauwelijks communiceren
- Catherine (6/5): - For the price I paid it was absolutely worth it. The location is great, right opposite a short path to a wonderful sunset view along the beach, and minutes from the steps down to the beautiful beach. The restaurant part of this hotel has either closed down or is just never staffed so bear that in mind, there are lots of other places to eat locally though. Check in was easy, clean towels were provided, the room was clean and the bedding was fine, just very outdated and not in the best condition. The bathroom was grim I'm not going to lie, but the toilet flushed and there was running water so for a few quid a night you can make it work. If I was on a serious budget then yes I would stay here again, but perhaps push the boat out a bit if you can afford it!
- Christopher (3/5): -
- Sarah (6/5): Perfect location! - Pretty much on the beach. The girls in the reception is sooo nice…
- Scott (6/5): - You come here because it's walking distance to the beach and the cliffs.
- Gabriel Cisneros Igonda (7/5): Ticked all my needs for simplicity of arrival from airport, booking and location in Bukit - Location is excellent since it is about 50 steps to the beach. The rooms are ample and clean with excellent wifi and AC. Once you are on the North end of the beach you can have your pick of food and surf schools. Aslo it's just above a convenience store for cold drinks, water, etc The building is a little worn out which is why the prices are low.
- Deepak (1/5): Bad - Bad staff, unprofessional, no water supply to the room in spite of repeated requests. Worst possible service. This establishment needs to rethink its way of treating paying customers.
- Diana (6/5): - For this price is Okey. Bed is clean.
- Scott (6/5): - Absolutely a great location for beach and spectacular views. The staff were courteous and friendly.
- Eduardo (1/5): Bad -
- Cap.cook (3/5): Poor - The hotel is dirty. The stairs haven't been cleaned in years. The bathroom isn't even worth mentioning.
- Namit (4/5): Ok - Nothing much just close to balangan beach No much facilities
- Adriana (5/5): Passable -
- Sofia (4/5): Disappointing -
- Mian (4/5): Good price but not a proper place. - It’s near beach. Exhaust fan was not working in bathroom and drain hole was uncovered, continues smelling bad.
No mirror on washing bassin, difficult to shave with dressing table mirror.
- Lukasz (10/5): - I just wanted to share how perfect my stay at Balangan Paradise was. The location, just steps away from the beach, was absolutely ideal. The peaceful atmosphere made it an incredibly relaxing experience. For those who value tranquility and a close connection to nature, this place is truly a gem. While the condition in the facility isn't good ants and cold water is normal so if you choose this hotel be prepared.
- Sven (8/5): - Der Ausblick war sehr schön der Strand auch .
- Annabel (5/5): Passable -
- Sofia (1/5): Bad - Dirty, uncomfortable
- Indre (6/5): Its okay - I liked location, but the rooms had old broken bathroom doors, a mold and dirty conditionair. Neighbors at night hitting the doors very loudly. Couldn't sleep properly.
- Bethany (9/5): Fantastic! - Perfect location, big comfy rooms and beds. Reviews did not match the cleanliness and expectations. Was very clean :) A shower could’ve been amazing!
- Barry (5/5): Close to beach, spacious, minimalist accommodation. - Close to beach. Affordable. Room size ok. We had to book and pay for 2 rooms because a spare mattress wasn't available for our young child. We there left one room vacant and carried the large main mattress (heavy!) to the other room and slept in the same room anyway, but with far less space. One of the rooms had noisy air conditioning so we struggled to sleep, before switching rooms again! Also, the shower constantly dripped - which meant that, with the drain on the opposite side of the bathroom, the bathroom floor was always wet. Always wet feet even to go to toilet. Also, no hot water in any rooms.
There were beer bottles outside the rooms throughout our stay, they were never picked up by the staff.
There are wild dogs around the property, thankfully they were not intimidating, but they can make a noise at night.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Location, view, value for money, staff and generally a great feeling during my stay
- chrissD881FV (2/5): Dont stay - Just dont stay here, the worst experience ive ever had. Dirty, unfriendly and unhelpful , the worst part no doubt was a mob of crazy dogs right infront barking ALL NIGHT
It aint beachfront! It aint paradise
They say you get what you pay for , this is the best example
- Luciano (7/5): Good - Great located, friendly staff. The shower was with very little pressure.
Toilet was empty of water all the time. I had to “flush” throwing water from a bucket.
During the night there was no water.
I think they need to consider get a water pump to fix this.
- Rob (6/5): - Good enough to retire to after a day out, but don't expect paradise
- Alfred (8/5): Very good -
- Wagner (4/5): Disappointing - Location and the main receptionist Cleanliness especially toilets
- Valeria (4/5): Disappointing -
- Errakibi (3/5): Poor -
- Bek (1/5): Bad -
- Laurence (2/5): Very poor - Nothing Room was very poor with no amenities
- Katrin (1/5): Booked 2 nights and ended up staying 1…and only because we arrived at 6am after all night of traveling and were too tire - Only that the location was great and that the staff was always so quick to respond and accommodating. Not clean at all. Stray dogs running around that bark all night. Mold and rat poop around the room. Door does not close all the way so ants came in. Don’t stay here.
- Tomo (2/5): Not good. - Black water came out of the shower. I got very sick staying here.
- Dredz (9/5): Superb -
- Bohdan (4/5): nice location, not expensive, but in quite bad condition, problems with tap water - location is perfect, not far from the airport, and very close to fantastic Balangan Cliff and the beach nearby It must have been a fantastic hotel when it was built, just like a paradise, with cosy rooms and nice bathrooms, crowned by a great bar on the roof with romantic bowers overlooking the beautiful Balangan Cliff and the beach nearby…
However, little care was paid to the maintenance in the following years, so nowadays the rooms are a bit dingy, bathrooms smelly with rusty metal plates on the door…
The roof-top bar and bowers are in ruins now, broken planks with rusty nails everywhere, there is nowhere to sit down there on the roof now to watch romantic sunsets.
Showers are with cold water only, and quite often even without tap water at all – one evening we were just supplied with plastic buckets with cold water…
- Ravi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ravi (8/5): - A forgotten gem.. Thank you Koinang for being so nice and helpful!.
- Claire (4/5): Disappointing - The location was good. There was no running water in the shower or sink. The hostel has a big bucket as a shower.
- Laurenz Jel (6/5): - I do feel like the price of the room isn't worth that much, at least the room with the "Ocean View". Maybe the other rooms which are cheaper is better to book tbh.
Pros:
- the room is really big
- big bed
- nice sheets, linens, etc.
- bathroom is big
- very peaceful and silent. The area is a bit remote. If you're looking for peace, this is it. But it's not easy to walk around for food at night as the very few nearby restaurants close at around 7PM
- few steps away from the beach
Cons:
- WATER SUPPLY IS LIMITED. I really did not appreciate this. I feel like I paid enough to have at least this basic thing. There is no water in the morning and I'm not sure until what time at night.
- Reception/service is only until 7PM
- there is no Ocean View. I mean, there is but it's not like on the photos. What you see on the photo is the restaurant, which in no way is part of the hotel. It's a few steps away.
- it's an old building so there are rusts, stains, etc in the bathroom but it's not because it's not clean, it's really just because the place is old.
I really like that it's near the beach and there's not much people in the area. I hope they can add amenities and features in the future.
- Tom (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bethany (4/5): Wouldn’t recommend but the quality is expected for the price. - Very close to Balangan beach. There was a rat in the room, the water ran brown and dirty at times & stopped running completely other times. The air con in one of our rooms was awful, it barely worked and the room was stuffy and hot the whole stay. The location is very far away from everything else except Balangan Beach.
- Chanel (1/5): Bad - How close it was to the beach My shower didn’t even work, didn’t have a shower for 3 nights, the toilet didn’t flush the last day I was there . Was room no.2 was not happy . Told the staff and they done nothing about it
- Carol (1/5): Too expensive for what you get - Location next to the beach Extremely dirty, clearly you can see they didn't change the linen in bed. No towels offered. Nobody is available in the evening when you need something. Dogs barking all night long.
- Canton (9/5): Superb - Prefect location for surfers (Balangan) A bit far from.other locations
- Magdalena (4/5): Ok, but I prefer to drive to the beach and stay i a better, nicer place. - That was 3 feet from the beach.
It was very good located and you save to pay the beach fee. The staff was extremely unfriendly, it was extreme loud.
The scooter were driving like it was a main road and then the dogs won’t shout out until sometimes 4 am.
The room was ok but was pricey for the facilities. The internet sucked.
Needed to connect only in the corredor. And no phone connection. Was nothing to hang the wet clothes.
The bath was always wet like a pool, and drop the entire night. Cleaning was not the best.
There is no breakfast spot around.
- Rodrigo (7/5): Good -
- Kirsten (4/5): Disappointing -
- Rumen (8/5): Very good - Staff was helpful and the beds were comfy. Tbe hostel is located close to the beach and has a moto rental next to it. Several places to eat at the beach and nice sunsets. Bathroom was quite old and dirty. I only booked this place because it was 62% discounted. Otherwise, it has a high price for what it offers.
- Yasmin (6/5): Pleasant - Nice staff Dirty bathroom
Smelly room and mouldy
- Potgieter (7/5): Good -
- Rhys (8/5): Very good -
- Chiappetta (10/5): Exceptional - Great value and great location The place could use a little TLC but for the price compared to the surrounding places I'll take this one every time
- Andrzej (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cathy (7/5): Peaceful ☺️ - I like the location near the beach beautiful views at night.
- Sebastian (5/5): Passable - Location toilets need a renovation !
- Adrian (1/5): Bad -
- Marie-anne (1/5): Bad - Close to beach Dogs out of control strong smell of mould stayed 2 nights paid for 7 advertised restaurant non justified
- Harry (8/5): Very good -
- Brett_and_wood (4/5): Disappointing -
- Michal (6/5): Pleasant - Location near beach, good spot for trips around uluwatu area. Bed was comfy. Cheapest around. Smelly, old, windows could not be closed, everythink is ready for repair or replace. But for that price and just for sleep its enough.
- Scott (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sarah (7/5): Good getaway - Location is amazing right at the beach, there’s a scooter rent right next to the hostel It was extremely loud at night. Cockroaches in the rooms
- Karoline (1/5): Bad - Mould on the walls, poor lighting, not clean zink, stains on the bed
- Francesca (1/5): I would not go back there. Avoid it if you can - - It’s located next to a really nice viewpoint for sunset and it’s kinda quick to reach the best beaches in Bali (with your own motorcycle/Grab)
- Air conditioner - NO HOT WATER in the shower
- stray dogs barking aaall night long
- ants in the room
- bad smell in the room
- in the middle of literally nothing, kinda creepy after sunset
- Rebecca (2/5): you will not have a goodnight sleep here - The location is nice if you want to surf at Balangan beach. We made a mistake by booking the place for 9 nights without checking the place out. We couldn’t sleep any of the nights as there were about 20 dogs barking right outside the place 12 hours a night. you fall asleep and every 5 minutes the dogs are having fights outside the place. I used earplugs every night but they don’t help as the dogs are so loud. Our shower wasn’t working so we used the pide to shower.. nasty. the room was very dirty, the walls were pealing off and propably moldy. They didn’t change our sheets or clean the room for the whole stay. You can find better places with a better price too.
- Ravi (5/5): Passable - Damn those barking dogs!. Sleep all day, bark all night.. Weirdly placed light switches and had to move the bed to access power point.. Nowhere to hang stuff to dry.. Nowhere to put soap or hang hose in bathroom.. A mirror over the sink would be a nice touch..
- Gavin (9/5): Great location, Koman is great - Location, Room size, Koman N/A
- Anna (8/5): Good value for money - Next to the beach A bit far away from the center (restaurants and bars)
- Anna (3/5): So the price was nice but everything else was not, so yeah it’s cheap but than you have to coop with this issues. - The only good thing about the property is the price. The rest was a bit rough. There was mould around the edges, the room smelled and the bathroom was not clean and in a really bad condition. They only had cold water, so no warm shower in the evening.
The bed covers did not seem washed.
- Harry (9/5): Superb - Great value for money. Wonderful setting with the pool. Quiet and chilled. Room quite basic, nothing fancy but as a solo traveler more than enough. Would return.
- Wesley (7/5): Like stepping back in time in Bali, pretty basic and right on the beach. - It’s like Bali of the old days, super chill around that area.
- Tracey (8/5): Very good - Location was great It was pretty basic but you more than go what you paid for.
- Diego (8/5): Very good -
- Liam (9/5): Superb - Very good location. Rooms were clean and beds comfy. The warung down the bottom of the stairs at the beach was a good spot to have something to eat and look over the ocean
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, Friendly staff and value for money
- Stark (7/5): Good - Very friendly staff, great location, not too busy. Nice to be away from all the hustle bustle of Bigger towns. Easy to rent a scooter for the day, and walk along the beach for food. Great relaxing feel. Thank you!
- Matias (4/5): Disappointing -
- Heather (5/5): Good proximity to beach but pretty isolated from anything else, very basic facilities but nice staff - classic example o - Friendly staff, great proximity to beach, ocean views Not the cleanest, limited facilities, cold showers, no kettle for tea/coffee
- Julia (6/5): This place is about the area not the bed you sleep in - Balangan is by far my favorite beach/area in Bali, there is nothing better and this is the closest hotel to the beach. It’s listed as a hostel but you get your own room and have no shared facilities which is epic Not very clean, I had to clean myself a bit but for how cheap it was I can’t complain too much on that regard
- Roger (2/5): Very poor -
- Matt (9/5): Superb - One of the cheapest place that is right next to a good beach, it's abit out of the way and away from all the Craziness which is very nice
- Nero (4/5): Short and sweet and happy to be out of there - Close walk to the cliff face which was nice The bathroom was mouldy and the tiles were stained brown. The paint and plaster on the walls were peeling and looks really unmaintained. Because there’s no service I relied heavily on the wifi for planning but the wifi only worked outside of my room which I found to be a plan.
- Daisy (8/5): Very good - Great location. Good value for money. Accomodating staff Nothing
- Amandus (7/5): Good -
- Jacob (6/5): Pleasant -
- Matty (1/5): poor, avoid - cheap booked 3 nights, only stayed 1 night. didn’t get any sleep, stray dogs barking outside all night.
when cancelled they charged 100k cancellation fee even when we explained we didn’t get any sleep due to hotel environment
- Tzara (7/5): Perfect place to end my holiday - super close to the beautiful balangan beach Shower was cold, but didn't matter as it was so hot anyway.
- Salah (1/5): Bad - No things It tell me in the map, homestay beside the beach but in the real no.
All things are closed in 7pm. After that all place so dangerous. No body no market no life.
When I want to concel 😭 take of me more then the half of price as fee cancellation.
- Nicolas (6/5): Pleasant -
