Spotless room, with everything we needed - very comfy bed and spacious en suite. Also enjoyed the amazing modern art. Would highly recommend and intend to return.

Check in and check out was a breeze, friendly staff, cousy tidy rooms and wacky decor. Well filled coffee/ tea making facilities in the room was much appreciated, and complimentary water. Well situated with short walk to sea front. Walkable to all areas of Brighton we wanted to visit, restaurants, bars and train station. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend to friends and family.

The room was clean and well-presented with tea, coffee and biscuits included. A short walk to everything in Brighton, including the beach at the bottom of the road.

- Timothy (8/5): - I really liked the funky environment and beautiful artwork. The room, even though small, was very nicely decorated and the bathroom was beautifully renovated (but again, small for a tall person!). The bed was especially comfortable and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
- Tim (2/5): - Nice, clean hotel. Good amenities and staff very friendly and helpful. The standard double room is very small though and the bathroom hardly big enough to move in. Check-in was very bad, we turned up after 4pm and our room still wasn't ready, despite check-in being available from 2pm. The owners put this down to staffing issues, although shouldn't hotels have contingency plans for this sort of thing!? We were on a short timescale having to get to a show that evening and couldn't get into our room until nearly 5pm and so did not have a chance to freshen up for the evening. Even with this inconvenience the owners did not even offer us a drink of water and suggested that we go to the local pub and wait until the room was ready. They did however, not charge us for the parking permits as compensation. The breakfast room is also very small with only 4 tables for two people, so you cannot always have breakfast at the time you want, if too many other guests are having breakfast at the same time.

Loved the art and uniqueness of the decorations, it added a touch of luxury and substantiated the essence of the city. The breakfast was delicious and the service was impeccable. The hosts went out of their way to help us with parking, which was very appreciated given the parking challenges that Brighton is facing even outside the season. - Verified traveler (2/5): - This is an overpriced average hotel. No heating is on during the day. No hot water for a morning shower. Soundproofing between floors is very poor, so if you enjoy listening to your upstairs neighbours TV at 2am this is the hotel for you
- Jane (8/5): - Very friendly and clean, location was excellent. The parking is not so go. We was able to park in one of the hotels spaces at £15 a night. Our room was very small as was the en-suite but it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the best we have had anywhere.
- Clinton (10/5): Nice and clean - Here for work. Clean hotel, i left before breakfast so cant comment. Small bathroom would not suit everyone, but just what i needed. Kettle, TV, workspace / desk. Powershower again very small ok for me though. Take a walk for parking, 5 mins up the road cheapest parking near Brighton, freshfields road, Sutherland road. Out of hotel turn right. Main set of T/Light turn left immediately turn right parking around 4.80. Less than 5 mins walk, other than than £10 voucher for the day from hotel.

The place is immaculately clean and you can see time is taken to maintain this standard as well as additional covid measures. The hostess was amazing, so friendly and so accommodating. The location is great right near the beach but not too busy by the pier ( only a 5 min walk). Definitely recommend this place in Brighton.

- David (10/5): Highly Recommended... - Highly recommended. But where to start? Everywhere we saw in the Cavalaire was clean and beautifully appointed. Nearly every wall of the Guest House has unique art work; the majority are oils often incorporating other three dimensional elements - but all the work of Vesna. When we arrived the bed had our towels in two pyramids topped with chocolates. The fridge had a fresh bottle of water and a corkscrew, there was a kettle & a supply of milk, tea, coffee and sugar on the dresser. The breakfasts at the Cavalaire are legendary, but I had to ask Jamal & Vesna to hold back on the toast. After a bowl of chopped fresh fruit I had trouble eating all of the salmon, scrambled egg & greens. We were there on our 20th wedding anniversary - but the last thing that we had expected when we got back from our rambles on the Friday evening was a beautiful card and a bottle of Prosecco. We'd had a wonderful day in Brighton and that was just the icing on the cake! It was a real wrench to head off home on the Sunday morning but in exchange for the keys we both got a lovely hug off Vesna & a warm handshake from Jamal. We'll be back at the Cavalaire sooner rather than later!

- Darren (10/5): Fab stay in Brighton - We was greeted with a beer and a glass of wine which was a really nice gesture after a long journey and from the moment we got there to the moment we left the owners could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Rooms are really tastefully decorated and the public areas are adorned with the owners own art, which is lovely. Make sure you have the breakfast as well, it is gorgeous.

The hotel is situated close to the Lanes - only a short walk, and they also have space for car parking at a reasonable rate. Would thoroughly recommend it.

- Ayaz (10/5): Amazing Stay in Brighton! - We had an amazing 2-night stay at the Cavalaire, a great way to end our 2-week trip to the UK. Hands down, we had the best hosts in Brighton! Derek was amazing - welcomed us with a glass of wine, super helpful in helping us figure out the best place to park in the city, took our luggage up to an upgraded room while we parked, shared tons of great recommendations of stuff to do and places to eat! The property itself is beautiful - clean, spacious, lots of treats to enjoy in the room (tea tray, biscuits, sweets), gorgeous views from the fire escape and the icing on the cake was a lavish breakfast spread including made-to-order items each morning! Can’t say enough about what an amazing spot this is, you’ll just have to try it for yourself to find out!

The breakfast was beautifully prepared/cooked (a great selection). The room and ensuite were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the usual additions (hairdryer, iron etc) were provided. However, in the interests of honesty, I would have to say that the room and ensuite were a little cramped. We would definitely recommend this guest house for all the positives that we experienced.

- Timothy (10/5): A rare gem - It was lovely. The room was well appointed, the beds new and the linen crisp, just as you would hope. Excellent breakfast that could not be faulted with all kinds of fruit, youghurts and juices. Kempton is a short stroll and is well worth a look with great eateries, deli's and pubs. The warmth of the welcome from Derek and Gary was testament to their own high standards and the fact they enjoyed their work and meeting their guests.
