Guest Reviews
- Frances (2/5): - Photos of listing were deceptive. Place looked like arriving to a horror movie. Rusted out vehicles with flat tires in the parking lot. The office was at the back of the building. Windows and ac units were rusted out. Due to being in town for an event and no other rooms at other hotels available, we stayed. The room itself was somewhat clean however there were body wash, shampoo and conditioner bottles attached to the shower wall. All bottles were empty. The sink was in a different area, kitchenette. At night there were a small group of loud men in the corner of the building. All in all, didnt feel welcome, safe or clean.
- Ken (2/5): - Area appeared unsafe.
- Rosemary (4/5): - the non-smoking area and room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke which was impossible for us to handle due to health concerns. The shower also took 15 minutes to even feel warm. We did talk to the person checking us in and he did give us a different room with an outside door. this room did smell clean and free of cigarette smoke. Office type chairs in both rooms had some damage to them.
- Emilee (2/5): - If you like dive motels this is the place for you if you have your tetanus shot. There’s junk cars in the backside parking lot and if living on the edge is your thing then again this is the place for you. This was an expensive stay for us, we didn’t stay and opted to pay for another hotel. Good luck if you decide to stay. They could at least try to update a few things. Even a coat of paint would help.
- Ryan A (10/5): - Couldnt complain for the price.
- Crystal (2/5): - This place is so dirty it’s filthy. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for the price that I paid. This seems like it should only be about 40 bucks a night. I have to be honest I mean, I found so much dirt in the bathroom and it just doesn’t look like it had been clean. I did check the bed. I mean there’s tears in the blanket stains on the sheets. It smells like smoke here cause it is a smoking room but it’s pretty disgusting. I would not recommend staying here everything is dirty. I disinfected my hands after every time I touched anything in here totally grows.
- Ahmed (6/5): - Just ok kind of a run down motel in weird industrial area with no around it
- Haley (10/5): - I stayed for two nights here for the renaissance festival. The man at the front desk was helpful in making sure I didn't have to switch rooms (I booked the second night last minute under a separate booking) and the room had no issues. It even had daily cleaning which I never expect anymore. Exceeded expectations, I will likely stay here next year.
- hunter (2/5): - We arrived as a late check in probably around 2 am, and then checked out at 9am, we were accused of stealing towel cause the worker said he put 7 towels in the room and there’s only 6
- Joel (2/5): - Had a 50 dollar deposit when checking in, that wasnt mentioned.
- ZACHARY (8/5): - The ValuStay Inn looks a bit rough around the edges, but the room we stayed in was well maintained and clean and the manager was friendly and helpful.
- Allegra (2/5): - Literally the rudest people I have ever encountered. They try and charger a deposit? But have smoking rooms ? Which is weird most hotels due deposits for people who smoke and aren’t suppose too ? The room itself is only worth half of what i paid for the room! The owners stood outside my door rushing me to get out ! It was rude and uncomfortable
- Farqad (6/5): - Room was ok
Staff was nice
Building was lack of lighting services. ETC
- Ryan (2/5): - Room smelled like smoke. Very dirty. Rude staff.
- Gary (2/5): - Unsafe, smelly,
- Dan (2/5): - Property doesn’t exist address listed was a semi storage facility.
- Azia (2/5): - I’m pregnant and came here to stay because I was low on money. The room had no working ac/heat and when we complained the hotel manager said we lied without even checking. He then called to leave a voicemail after we left that he thinks we smoked and took 50$. I’m pregnant and don’t smoke and can’t be around smoke so this is extremely sad. I feel like I’ve been scammed.
- Gary (6/5): Made my nose bleed - No mention of a $50 damage deposit when booking that was due at check-in. I'm 66 with good credit. The room had an overwhelming chemical smell from room deodorizers or cleaning products. So much so that it caused my sinuses to bleed. Did someone die in there? was someone making meth? Ironically it was a no-smoking room that still smelled a bit of cigarette smoke. However, the room and hallways were clean. Although the shower stall was slightly smaller than a coffin.
- Sam (10/5): - good value for the money, clean place. But located in a really strange place and just had a hard time finding it.
- Janet (8/5): - This was an unexpected surprise for an older property as our stay here was quite comfortable. The king size bed was very nice, the area was quiet, the shower had good water pressure and the price was great. We weren't expecting much but we actually stayed another night because it was so convenient and comfortable. We would definitely recommend it and will stay here again when visiting the area.
- ROBERTA (10/5): - EASY OFF AND ON FREEWAY,....TUCKED AWAY FROM MAJOR TRAFFIC AND CONFUSION. NOT REAL FANCY BUT ADEQUATE FOR SHORT RELAXING TRIP NO POOL WAS THE DRAWBACK
- Jennifer (6/5): Okay, if single person. - A cold room with no curtains. Air came threw the doors. But overall ok different prices was quoted and had to pay extra for a deposit$ 50 which u fetback3-4 days after. The time u vacate. Andrew inspection
- Ruth (8/5): - I DID NOT LIKE MY ROOM. IT WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR TO GO IN AND OUT AND PEOPLE WOULD SLAM IT SHUT, SO IT WAS QUITE ANNOYING AND KEPT WAKING ME UP. OTHERWISE IT WAS OK, STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND THOUGHT OF YOUR SAFETY BY GIVING YOU SOME HAND SANITIZER.
- April (6/5): Not happy - The stay was okay... They took a 50 dollar deposit.. that I didn't know about. Then when we checked out they tried to say we smoked in the room. They didn't want to give back the deposit... They did finally did give it back the deposit when I didn't back down.
- Mary (4/5): - Like someone else said, it was difficult to find and it would have been more difficult had it been dark. Very noisy guests, doors beween rooms made me feel unsafe, especially when someone in the next room said "do you think this door is locked"? The office was grimy, the manager was nice.
- Gerry (4/5): - Entrance is not marked very well. They want to charge a $50 deposit, there are people living here there was a guy grilling food in a parking spot when I pulled in, the best are terrible not comfortable at all. The main light was like a strobe light just blinked. I won’t stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for the money - Just a little motel. The outside seems a little run down and in a very odd location, but inside the rooms were clean and comfortable with all the amenities you’d expect.
Finding it is difficult, very little signage and in an industrial park it doesn’t seem like you are at the right place, but beyond that, if you are looking for a cheap place to sleep in the area, it’s great for that.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We arrived late around 4am and check out the next day was 11am . When we got there we were told we would have to put a 50.00 cash deposit down which we weren’t aware of before .
When we checked out the next morning the owner of the property went to go check our room so we could get our deposit back , he told us there was four towels missing and two hand towels .
I reassured him that I wouldn’t steal any towels and how there was none in our hotel room the night before . He then proceeded on again how there was no towels and they were all missing, I told him I would go get my bags to prove that I didn’t steal anything from
The room, I was super upset and offended.
After I said this he said there was no need and gave us our deposit back .
We won’t be coming back , we didn’t feel safe after this.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - A lot of mosquitos in the room, been bitten all nights long. Once i arrived to tha y place could not move because am under a electronic federal logbook obligated has to spent 2 nights there.
- Jon (8/5): No frills, cheap, betcha cant find it first try!! - Old motel but remodeled well. Desk guy was really nice. Clean room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was very nice, but finding it is difficult. The highway put in one year ago has blocked direct access and partially hidden it. Better and bigger signage would improve it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Newly remodeled rooms. Shower water excellent!!
Outside was deceiving and looked sketchy but turned out fine.
- MP (8/5): - We stayed for one night, but were gone most of the time. It was quiet besides the highway traffic. Was happy for the price paid. We did not seek out amenities—it was literally just a room to shower, keep our belongings and to sleep between events. Gentleman at the front desk was kind and friendly.
- Kelli (6/5): - Nice location, room and bathroom needs to be cleaned better. Found a tube of medication on the floor just behind the garbage can.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was old and dated, but pretty cheap and convenient
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice Clean Quiet Property Perfect For Staying In Peace
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very clean. Friendly. O enjoy walkong out my room door to the outside. Ut also had an oven stove combo and microwave full kitchen sink. Stand up shower. Awesome beds.. slept like i was at home.. The only down fall was the 50.00 deposit. Had i known in advance. I would have gone to cash machine and paid cash. Since i used my cc. I will not see it back on my card for 7 to 10 days. This is standard. With my credit union. Not all banking establishments are the same.
- Upset (2/5): - This was so ch an unpleasant experience including a deposit to stay in such a rundown place. Very disappointed
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ok motel, wall light in the room didn't work and the hot water for showering was warm, not hot. Owner charges a $50 deposit right up front on your card then inspects the room prior to refunding your $50, must have had some bad experiences. He is very friendly though!
- Chad (6/5): - The hotel is easily accessible to HWY 169. The staff were very pleasant and kind when we talked to them. I would highly recommend this Motel for the price. The Motel is very basic and there is no breakfast. I would recommend this place though.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Outside did not look appealing- kind of in need of repair. The room was nice and Kleen.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not a very clean or safe feeling place. Dirty. One towel for the 3 night stay. Not worth $80 a night absolutely outrages for poor quality stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Find a different hotel! - I should have paid more attention to the reviews. I booked this quickly, but didn't realize it's a small motel with all the doors on the outside, facing the parking lot. It didn't really feel safe. We couldn't find the office to check in at first, and then when I did go in, the worker was behind what must have been a bullet proof glass. The entire thing just felt scary. Also, no continental breakfast. I wish we would have paid a little extra and stayed at a different hotel.
- Rebecca (6/5): I would pass. - A couple of friends and I stayed here because it is so close to the Renaissance Festival and it was fairly inexpensive. It wasn't worth it. The bed was uncomfortable and the place was kinda creepy. The desk clerk was very nice though. Next time I will drive a little further for a better room.
- barb (10/5): - Very quiet and clean
Working Over weekend so works just fine
- Verified traveler (2/5): Would never recommend this hotel - Purchased hotel for my 20 year-old daughter (who is in the US Army) who was stranded in Minneapolis overnight. The hotel was not going to allow her to stay because she is under 21 years-old even though I had paid for the room in full and she had a credit card. I had to fight with the manager at 11 pm and he finally relented and allowed her to stay. Once she got to the room the heat was turned off even though it was under 30 degrees outside.
- Eileen (2/5): - Worst motel we have ever stayed in, needs to be shut down and completely remodeled. Mold in Different areas. We are just hoping we didn't get any bugs!!!!
- Viola (6/5): out dated - the floor in the room is ceramic tiling, kinda felt like i was sleeping in a bathroom. one of my beds was missing a fitted sheet. the fan in the bathroom was broken/didnt work. lucky it was only for sleep but it was not worth the $70 a night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Busy corner, minutes from the Minnesota renaissance festival. Expensive for a motel, but that was probably because of the busy weekend.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't waste your money. - Dirty sheets. I can't accept that no mater how cheap.
- Sam (4/5): - Very Shady people hanging around and the smell of burnt marijuana was everywhere
- Deb (6/5): - This was a value for the night as we were working at the Renaissance Festival and it was close.
- Melinda (8/5): Great for the price - It isn't anything fancy but the beds were comfortable and it was clean.
- Peggy (6/5): good location to several events but about it. - We were woke up at 6am to the guy next door yelling at someone on the phone except it sounded like he was right in our room. Very thin walls. No coffee and when I asked for some in the office she acted like she didn't understand. Even though they are middle eastern I think they do speak English.
- Loretta (10/5): - it was ok but no coffee in room
- Marilyn (4/5): - No bed bug, but the floor was dirty and the fan in the bathroom has never been cleaned, the bathroom door was broken.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Rude - Staff was rude to me and my family actually tried to get a new room at a different motel due to there rudeness and the bugs.terrible experience.
