The home is a few blocks from the local restaurants, etc. If you don't want stairs, be sure to request one of the rooms on the main level. Parking can be challenging but we managed ok.

The location is convenient for the jazz clubs/restaurants/French Quarter but not so close as to not have peace/quiet. The proprietors are warm/friendly/helpful and had plenty of practical tips on how to get around as well as local recommendations for meals/entertainment. I got everything I needed and more. I definitely recommend R&B bed and breakfast to anyone looking for a safe/convenient/comfortable stay in New Orleans.

The location was great for walking to the music scene without being right in the middle of the action, which was perfect for us. It was nice and quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

Would definitely stay here again next time we come to New Orleans. The house is amazing and old so be aware, there are some steep stairs up to some of the rooms.
- Mark (10/5): - For starters Karen is simply incredible. Shortly after booking she called me and I could tell immediately that she was an extra special hostess. From recommendations of things to do (Zydeco Fest, Day of the Dead events, music and food), Karen was super helpful. She even went out of her way to put rose petals on our bed as surprise for my girlfriend. Lolo is an excellent chef and made sure our bellies were full for each days new adventures. The location is right on Frenchman and the live music is insane! Staying at the R&B was like staying with friends. We can’t wait to return and stay with Karen and Lolo again. 10stars times 10 isn’t enough!
- David (10/5): - As soon as we stepped out of the classic house built in the 1800s, we could hear jazz music playing in the distance. The parking on half of the street is free. Across from the bed and breakfast is a bakery and a park—perfect for people watching. Karen, the innkeeper, made sure we had a personal experience. She cooked breakfast and provided snacks, as well as explained the best way to see the city. R&B is on the quieter side of the corner. It is within walking distance of the French market, Bourbon Street, and the streetcar. Our room was clean and quiet. We will stay here again and highly recommend!

- Verified traveler (8/5): Layed back and close to everything! - The owner was super nice! She even stood in the rain to save us a parking spot and helped us in with our bags! She informed us all about New Orleans and was easily accessible throughout our stay! If you want to feel like you are staying with family this is the place for you! If you are expecting a gourmet breakfast every morning then maybe not. The building is old and beginning to act cranky so just be aware of that too!
- John (10/5): - Karen was a fantastic host. She was very helpful in providing details about New Orleans and how to get around. The location was perfect for our needs. We parked our car and did not use it until we left 4 days later. Everything was within walking distance.
- Verified traveler (4/5): 1869 building, think again. - Could not control the temperature in the room so it was either too cold or too hot. There is a fan but it’s not enough. The window is blocked out and so there’s no light from the outside coming in, feels like a cell. Standing water in the bathtub after our for shower. They did correct that by day two. The breakfast was disappointing. A bunch of packages from Costco type muffins and packaged food. The area is not safe feeling. Many homeless in the park across the street. Someone was murdered by gunfire on our street a half hour before we arrived.

We missed the owner at check-in so we were unable to use the free drink coupons she provided. She upgraded us to Mardi Gras suite which was nice bc we had our own AC; however it had a queen bed, and we requested a king. The breakfast was good. Quiche day 1 and French toast day 2. There were cereal options, fruit and yoghurt. Coffee and juice drink. Overall, it was a perfect stay.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great B&B - This is an older building on Frenchmen St in the Marigny neighborhood. It is a quirky area with several bars and restaurants. It can get loud and busy on the weekend. However, you can walk to the French Market and the French Quarter in 10 minutes or less. The Inn is beautiful. There is a great little fenced in courtyard to enjoy breakfast and relax in when the weather is nice. The Inn Keeper, Karen, was wonderful and welcoming. She provided a nice breakfast every morning and made sure there was food available to snack on at all times of the day. The furnishings were beautiful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

It is unassuming from the outside but when you walk inside the decor is beautiful. The owner has redone this historical home with modern amenities while retaining its original grandeur. Our room had a beautiful raised 4-post bed with excellent mattress and pillows along with a large private bath. The owner, Rita, was extremely friendly and helpful and provided a kitchen filled with beverages and snacks along with a nice light breakfast of fresh pastries and fruits. The Ruby Slipper is right around the corner for those who want a heartier breakfast.The location is pretty unbeatable. We were steps from the French Quarter and all it has to offer including the Art Market, live music venues, and historical sights. Would return here and highly recommend!

- Punkie (10/5): As comfortable as home. - The facility is a beautifully restored home with beautiful antiques but modern amenities. The bathrooms are wonderful. There are lots of little homey touches, tissue boxes by the bedside, lots of outlets, a black makeup towel in the bathroom, a television has lots of channels, great smelling toiletries in the bathroom. There are lots of snacks and breakfast foods available 24/7. The location is in a quiet neighborhood with a park across the street, but within walking distance of all the activity.

She also leaves food out for the whole day which is a plus because you can grab something to eat anytime you feel hungry. This place is on Frenchman Street where there are lots of bars with lovely music. It's also a short walk to French quarter and Bourbon street. It's just at a great location

- Verified traveler (10/5): All the reviews are true, this place is amazing!! - My partner and I recently stayed at the R&B Bed and Breakfast for a week while eloping in New Orleans. We couldn't have been happier with our decision to stay here, and we would never want to stay anywhere else on our return visits. The house is amazing and the rooms are beautiful. Rita the owner/host has put an incredible amount of love into every last detail, and puts that same amount of passion into making sure all of her guests are beyond happy with their stay. Our bedroom and bathroom were both large, clean and looked impeccable. The bed itself is the most comfortable thing I've ever slept in, and the double headed shower was a real treat as well. You couldn't ask for a better location either, as Frenchmen St is the place to be when it comes to live music and good food in New Orleans. It's also just a short walk to Bourbon St and the French Quarter as well as many other interesting areas, and there's also plenty of public transport close by if you wish to venture further out. This place is amazing, do yourself a favour and book now!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel on Frenchman Street - Fantastic place located a few blocks from the center of the French Quarter allows for easy access. Frenchman Street itself is full of great clubs and restaurants literally within less than a minutes walk from the R & B.
- Pamela (10/5): Home Away from Home.... - We stayed here for 3 nights earlier November 16 and felt like it was our home away from home. We had a wonderful welcome with Rita who advised us what to see and where to go, which was a great help. The rock and roll room which we stayed in is located on the ground floor which was great for me as the stairs were bit steep. It had a huge four poster bed which needed cute little 2 steps up onto it. The room had very high ceilings and was traditionally furnished in antique dark wood furniture, small walk in wardrobe and lovely fitted bathroom, small tub with overhead shower. Breakfast was in a communal kitchen with continental style pastries cereal juices etc, no hot food but plenty to eat. Most days Rita is in there with you giving you helpful tips of New Orleans and general chit chat, she seems to love meeting people from around the world. The house was very old and as such had a wonderful collection of ornate antique furniture giving it the feel of a grand old home. Location is great, its right at the very end of Frenchman street but very quiet as it is it is where all the pubs, bars etc finish. To reiterate......wonderful house...... wonderful location.........wonderful host Rita. Would without a shadow of a doubt recommend and defiantly stay there again

- Verified traveler (10/5): Charming B&B in a fabulous location - We had a fabulous time at R&B Bed & Breakfast. The location was perfect - just 100 steps away from the famous Spotted Cat Music Club (and many others) along the famed Frenchmen street and a mere 15 minutes walk to historic Jackson Square. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and quiet - perfect for a restful vacation. The warm & charming innkeeper Rita was very helpful with providing expert advise on the sites to visit and the places to eat. Highly recommended and would most definitely return.
