Guest Reviews
- Peter (10/5): A home from home. - I have stayed here a few times now.
Incredibly happy with this property.
See my other review for more information.
- Peter (10/5): Exactly what I needed. Thank you - This property was perfect for my needs. It is located not too far from the centre of Chester in a quiet suburb. Saying that, you would have to either drive there or catch the bus.
The property is a located at the rear of a large family home.
The room has a large double bed, a sofa, a table and chairs. Off the main room is a kitchen and a bathroom.
There was plenty of space to park my large van when staying here.
The owners said I was free to use the gardens too, which was really nice. However, I was here during some stormy weather so did not venture into the garden.
I have stayed here a couple of times now and found the owners to be incredibly welcoming. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Thank you
- Peter (10/5): Everything I needed for my stay - Amazing place. Had everything I needed for my time in Cheshire.
I have stayed here a few times so see my other review for more information.
Thank you
- Andy (10/5): Great value for money - Chose to stay here for 2 nights while visiting friends. Fantastic property lots of free parking available and within walking distance of amenities. Bus stops right outside on the main road.
I had little interaction with the hosts but that’s because I didn’t need anything. When I did need to contact them the phone numbers were on a card in the room and Kevan responded and was polite.
I’m considering a return visit in the future.
- Lesley (10/5): Great base for Oulton Park - This was the perfect base for us to attend the Oulton Park race circuit from. Nice comfortable studio at the back of the main house with all you need when you're self catering. We were met by the family's youngest son, Ewan, and his friend on arrival. We couldn't have been welcomed better. Thank you again. We spent time every morning chatting with the chickens, they were so friendly. That's a first for us haha!
We noticed a few places nearby for eating out and can recommend the Rising Sun in Tarporley (near the racecourse).
Just be warned that it's easy to miss, even when you're following the directions...
- Rhonda (10/5): - Thornleigh is well situated, short drive in Chester. The accommodation is located at the back of the property so very quite. Very clean, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. Host very helpful. Would highly recommend
- Angela (10/5): Perfect apartment, everything you need inc kitchen - This is a lovely ground floor apartment at the rear of the owners house with its own entrance. They have a lovely huge garden. Lovely spacious accommodation witha well equipped kitchen. There was a large bed and a single bed. Nice big tv too
I took my grandson aged 4 as we were visiting Chester zoo the next day
The hosts are lovely and spent time chatting to me
Parking is on the drive to side of house next to apartment
It is excellent value for money
I have booked another 2 nights to stay again soon
- Elizabeth (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - The Studio Flat was spotless and had everything we might have needed. We were warmly greeted and made to feel very welcome. Very enjoyable stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fab little apartment, well equipped with everything you need, great location, friendly hosts. There was milk, tea, coffee and sugar on arrival which was a nice touch. Will definitely be back again.

- Katherine W. (10/5): Stay to visit Chester zoo - Lovely nice that my 8 yr old could play football and basketball in the grounds
Nice little kitchen so we could have a cooked breakfast

Would definitely go there again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners are really friendly and helpful. In the flat there's absolutely everything one needs. Especially the kitchen is very well-equipped, and everything is clean. Peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed our stay and will go back.
- Helen (10/5): Great place near Chester - Room was spotless, excellent kitchen facilities, lovely bedding. Very warm room. Close to Park & Ride too. Will be returning.
- Edward (8/5): Comfortable and convenient - We found the apartments was well appointed and very comfortable. It was very convenient to visit Chester.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice self catered apartment - This is not a hotel! It is an apartment at the back of the owners home. That being said it was very nice. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment. Owner was very helpful getting us oriented to the area.
- Kyla (6/5): Approx 3 miles from Chester - The flat was basic, had issue when checking in, left waiting around 40 minutes due to a mix up in communication. But this was sorted when the owner returned. The room was damp so had to put heating on, the only window accessible was a small one in the kitchen so we where very warm. The main road was very busy but we didn't hear any noise. use of a vehicle is advised due to location. Bus stop outside but only every half hour in day time. Probably wouldn't stay here again but may suit some people.
- Nicola (10/5): - Lovely accommodation. Owners very friendly. Don't be put off that it's on the main road. You can't hear any noise from the road and there's a bus stop outside. Totally recommend it.
- Charlotte (8/5): Good Value for Money - The room was a lovely big size with a double and a single bed and for those that need it a huge television. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was tea coffee and milk supplied (which was nice). The fridge however did make some funny noises and was quite loud at times. The beds were comfortable and the room was nice and warm. The door had a keypad lock to get in and we were not given a key so we could not lock the door during the night (which made me a little uncomfortable as i do like to know that know one can 'get in'). Overall i would recommend this as a good reasonable room and good value for what we paid.
- Chris (10/5): Lovely place to stay. - Lovely place to stay. We spent most of our time out & about but our room was plenty big enough, comfy, good facilities etc and ideal for what we needed/wanted. Clean, nicely furnished, even some milk in fridge for a cuppa after our long journey. Definitely would stay again.
- Paula (8/5): Suite in house in nice area - We enjoyed feeling like locals in the area . The owners were very friendly and helpful. We were three adults, which was a little tight but not unbearable. Everything was very clean except for dust and dirt on the floors which was probably due mostly to farm surroundings. Parking was tricky for our larger than compact car.
