John (10/5): A real treasure for a complete chill! - Small, exclusive, lovely lawned areas & pool. Rooms very comfortable. Not much. Meals expensive if eating in & no option for something cheap & cheerful. On our first visit there were no children but this time every family were accompanied. No problem for us but if you’re after a quiet time might check beforehand.

Selina (10/5): Wir kommen wieder - Eigentlich alles - Anlage wunderschön und ruhig, es gibt viele Plätze zum entspannen, Team ist der Wahnsinn, Frühstück mega, Lag ruhig aber nah an Stränden und Orten. Super aufmerksam und familienfreundlich. Besonders toll fand ich, dass der Roomservice oft schon gekommen ist während wir beim frühstücken waren und abends auch noch mal kurz reingeschaut hat. Wenn ich mir was wünschen hätte können wäre es a la carte abends und ein separates Bad gewesen (war mit Baby etwas schwierig manchmal abends). Aber so richtig hat es uns auch nicht gestört.

Kerssens (5/5): Tegenvallend - Het is een mooie locatie op een fijne plek. Schone kamers. Goede keuken, enkel als je het dagmenu besteld. Want meer is er niet verkrijgbaar. De gastvrijheid, vorig jaar zo fijn. Maar nu echt achteruit gegaan en gewoon echt tegenvallend. Een deel van het personeel probeerde het nog, de jongeman is de enige altijd supervriendelijk, maar zat ook vast in het systeem. Want zelfs voor een verzoek om 's avonds een kleine snack, stukje brood of een eitje te krijgen moest de manager eerst gebeld worden (en dat werd afgewezen, ik kon enkel het hele menu of een biefstuk met brood, ah er was wel brood, krijgen tegen de volle pond). Ik voelde mij dit keer echt niet gewenst en durfde al bijna niks meer te vragen. Meerdere verzoeken die in alle hotels doodnormaal zijn waren hier dit keer allemaal moeilijk of er werd onvriendelijk gecommuniceerd. Super jammer, want de plek is verder tof.

Vincent (8/5): ZEN - Prachtige, heerlijk rustige lokatie!! De eerste kamer die we kregen was niet naar onze zin, met bed boven en badkamer/toilet beneden. Op verzoek kregen we de volgende dag, zonder bijbetaling, een kamer die geheel naar wens was. Prima geregeld !!

Neil (10/5): A super hotel, offering something slightly different - We were taken by this hotel. It’s quirky in layout, and the location in what is residential area slightly unusual, but as soon as the electric gates opened we were struck by how much thought had been put into the design and experience. It is beautifully presented, with extensive grounds and lots of places to sit and sunbathe, all offering a distant view of the sea. The service was excellent throughout. Attentive and friendly. The breakfasts were as good as you’ll find. The room was large and thoughtfully designed. It’s set in a quiet residential area, but you really need transport to access beaches (which are stunning), shops and restaurants which might out suit some. High quality, good value, meals are available all day. It’s a shame that in the evening the only option is a 60 euro a head set meal, which was lovely but felt expensive.

Benny (10/5): Uitmuntend! - Een oase van rust en groen. Een verborgen parel in de Algarve! Uitmuntend ontbijt en avondeten. Alles is zeer verzorgd. De overnachtingen in de boomhut zijn fantastisch! De prijs van de snacks zijn naar verhouding van de porties wel duur. Voor 8.30 uur is het zeer moeilijk, om een koffie te krijgen (details natuurlijk). Het ontbijt is pas mogelijk vanaf 8.15 uur maar dit is steeds eerder 8.30 uur.

One staff member was quite pushy and rude regarding breakfast times after we’d had it explained to us that these were flexible. The property was sold as family run but we didn’t meet any family members which was disappointing.

T (8/5): Very relaxing stay with gorgeous pool and endless choice of places to sit/lie down in the garden - Superb pool - very clean and slightly heated. Excellent breakfast - good variety - fruit, yogurt, granola, eggs, pancakes, meats and cheeses and daily cake and good coffee. Chef's dinner - meat and fish were both excellent. Bed really comfortable and good pillows! We had pre-booked the Chef's dinner for the day we arrived, only to be told on our arrival that the kitchen was closed that day - there had been a wedding celebration at the hotel for the three days before. We didn't have a car, so had to organise a taxi and find somewhere for dinner - on our arrival day. This was very disappointing and the hotel weren't very apologetic or helpful. Although breakfast was excellent and whatever time you wanted it - when it was served, it felt quite rushed. The music was very repetitive and probably too loud Lack of information, we only found out there was cake in the afternoon on our last day!

Dina (8/5): Estadia em alojamento local de charme, com espaço de melhoria. - Alojamento rural com um espaço bonito e tranquilo, especialmente outdoor. No caso da suíte com terraço e com jacuzzi, tivemos a possibilidade de usar o espaço outdoor com alguma privacidade, também para secagem de toalhas e fatos de banho, etc. O pequeno-almoço foi bom, com opções suficientes e de ótima qualidade. Os cocktails no bar estavam excelentes. Gostámos também da comida durante o período da hora de almoço até às 17:00. O estacionamento foi sempre fácil. O staff mostrou-se professional, apesar de as vezes parecerem ocupados em organização entre si. Antes da chegada ajudaram-me a preparar uma pequena surpresa de aniversário para o meu marido e ainda ofereceram um bolinho. Depois da surpresa pediram-nos opinião e pareceram genuinamente satisfeitos, o que achámos um gesto atencioso. As colaboradoras da limpeza foram particularmente prestáveis e foram elas que encontraram e devolveram de imediato as nossas chaves de casa, logo após termos saído. O quarto embora com charme, pareceu-nos mais pequeno do que nas fotografias. A abundância de objetos decorativos também dificultou a organização dos nossos pertences. O ar condicionado era barulhento e faltaram soluções práticas como mais cabides de parede ou um estendal/escada discreta no terraço para as toalhas e fatos de banho. Sentimos ainda alguma inexperiência no atendimento e a ausência de um ponto de contacto principal no staff sempre disponível para apoiar em caso de necessidade. O mais relevante, no entanto, foi a limitação das refeições: apenas snacks até às 17h00 e jantar restrito a um menu fixo de 70 € por pessoa (bebidas à parte). Durante uma estadia de uma semana, isto levou-nos a jantar fora quase todas as noites. Além disso, considerámos o preço elevado mesmo em comparação com outros restaurantes da região na gama alta. Importa referir que, apesar de oferecer alguns serviços próximos de um hotel de 4 estrelas, não o é na sua totalidade, e isso deve ser tido em conta.
Mariana (10/5): Férias super tranquilas num ambiente rustico e saudavel, perto da praia - Ficámos no armazém que é super espaçoso e confortável para a nossa família de 5. A piscina privada do quarto fez a delícia das crianças. O hotel é muito calmo e excelente para relaxar e ter umas férias tranquilas. Destaque também para o café da manhã com produtos super frescos e para a simpatia de todos os funcionários. Experiência a repetir sem dúvida. Estava tudo excecional. A apontar algo seria apenas o AC do quarto que devido à dimensão do espaço não refresca totalmente nos dias de extremo calor. Mas suportável! De resto não existe mesmo nada a apontar.

Para além de: - um pequeno almoço fabuloso com produtos de muitíssima qualidade - dois picnic que nos prepararam para a praia - levarem-nos e trazerem-nos do cais de embarque da praia, com bilhete de barco comprado e sombrinha e cadeiras de praia reservadas; Márcia e Beatriz muito muito obrigada, foram top ! rothbart (1/5): Genuinely the worst hotel experience I have ever had - The place is dirty. It's no where near the city. The food was totally off, in-edible. Not only was the food completely off, and old, they automatically billed us a tip on it. We left the hotel 50 minutes after arrival. Initially, the plan was to try to make it work. However, we arrived incredibly hungry, as we had not eaten. The food they made was so stale and old. We just checked out the hotel. For the price you pay per night, it is 100% NOT WORTH IT. I've spent time at multiple different guest houses, and never had such a bad experience. Maybe for 100 a night maximum; however, 300 a night for what you get there is a total scam. Not only that, since we never used any amenities and left after 50 minutes. We asked for a 50% refund, not even for the day we left. Just the 2nd day we were not there. We received rude replies from the manager, the staff won't reply to get in touch, and they refused. If you're seeing this it's probably worth finding something more central and spending the money somehwere else, as for the price we paid I have NEVER been in such a s**t hotel
Taras (10/5): Exceptional - The location is lovely and very relaxing, the staff were super friendly (loved the concept of the never ending breakfast). Food was excellent, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner with them and it was all great. They put on an excellent meal for a big birthday we were celebrating, wine list is great, reasonably priced and well curated. Overall great experience, we expect to go back.

Mary (9/5): A dreamy escape close to outstanding beaches - Beautifully designed spaces aimed to create a sense of instant calm on arrival. Staff excellent and breakfast and meals first class. The bar was also great for pre dinner cocktails. We were well looked after. I was a little worried about the stairs in the split level style room because there was no hand rail and the shower and toilet were downstairs.

Jen (10/5): Historic hotel with modern design and fantastic staff - We stayed in a two bedroom apartment that was gorgeous and cozy. The nights were cold and we loved making fired in the wood stove (which was cleaned and restocked every day). Breakfast was fantastic, fresh, and generous (I still dream of the fresh OJ). It was an easy stroll to the ocean and some great cliff walks. We truly loved this part of our Portugal trip.
Reeve (10/5): Beautiful accommodation with wonderful facilities and amazing staff. - Breakfast was excellent with a great selection available including fruit, yoghurt, bread, croissants, eggs (inc benedict, Royale), pancakes, and a chefs treat (small cake / sweet treat) every day. Fresh juice choices and tea / coffee plentiful. Dinner was a surprise three course menu that was delicious and very filling. There were good alcoholic and non alcoholic drink options available too. Snacks & lunch options were much bigger in portion size than expected, and they organised a picnic for us when we went to the beach. Every day there was a complementary cake that we could help ourselves to - really nice touch! The pool was clean and warm, with plenty of options around the pool and surrounding grounds to relax. The room, given it was a standard room, was one of the best rooms we've ever stayed in. The interior decor was beautiful, an amazing space to relax in.
Drew (6/5): Mixed emotions - It is a very lovely bohemian rural get away and very chic. Lovely staff who were very accommodating. Very clean and very chill. Only 13 rooms in all so not a lot of commotion. Lovely pool areas and the grounds in general. Chic interior. We were there in off season which probably didn’t give us the full experience of what the place has to offer. We didn’t rent a car as we thought we would stay at the hotel all week but they only serve 50€ per person surprise 3 course dinner EVERY night - no a la carte - and that was not my thing at all. I don’t like surprises and we had it twice and it was mediocre at best imo. So we took Ubers to nearby restaurants (which luckily is very easy and affordable). The food in general was okay but I had expected so much more as it is rural. Breakfast was served from 8.30 and for an early (pregnant) riser that was a big minus for me. Breakfast was however really good, best meal they served. Last day we had to leave at 8am and because they didn’t open breakfast until 8.30 we got a lunch pack type breakfast the night before which was sad and we had no hot water that morning so we left on a bit of a downer. Maybe a 2-3 day stay is better than a week.

Alison (9/5): Incredible and very relaxing! Highly recommend this property!! - We absolutely loved our stay! The staff was friendly and attentive and were happy to book wonderful activities for us (including horseback riding, yoga, and wine tasting). The food was delicious, especially the breakfast which was incredible and something we looked forward to each day! The distance from the hotel to the town was the only issue, but it was such a small inconvenience! If you wanted to go to town you would have to taxi/uber. But you could easily call one and get to where you needed to go. Just not a lot within walking distance!
Lea (8/5): Great place to relax but a little overpriced - Beautiful property in a rural area, about 15-20 min from Tavira. Old main house with charm and a big neatly paved garden with sea views and 3 special accommodations on the grounds. Probably around 10 rooms in total, so nice and small. The food was good, especially the breakfast was great. A really special place to wind down and just relax. Wouldn’t recommend for people who like to do lots of stuff or longer stays with families as you need a car for everything and the east of the Algarve is less busy than the west. No restaurants around for example. Couple of small things I would name as areas for improvement: Some of the amenities could use a makeover (mold in the shower, small cracks and flaws on the toilet). The staff is nice but not super attentive during dinner. The cleaning of the room seemed a bit chaotic, sometimes there were people there 3 times a day while the coffee was often not refilled. Our invoice was not checked apparently as there were several mistakes. Lastly, the rooms (standard suites) were quite different from each other, so the description on booking was not accurate. Our room was small and had no separate living area, nor any views as described (actually it was quite dark) or a sitting area outside. We could change after a couple of nights to slightly better room but this left a bit of an aftertaste regarding the 270 euros/night. All in all a nice stay but a tad too expensive for what you get in my opinion.

Accommodation, facilities, staff and food are just wow. - From the moment we booked, I was emailed by the property asking how they can make my stay better or if we had any special requirements. My wife has a few allergies and they noted those. We were also celebrating our wedding anniversary so they offerred to set up a romantic table for dinner. When we arrived our room was not quite ready. They gave us complimentary drinks and towels so we could start using the salt water pool. We were already taken back by just how beautiful everything was. Very calm and peaceful. Once we got to our room they had prepared a complimentary fruit platter and room was incredibly spacious and beautiful. We had an incredible surprise dinner. We had no idea what was on the menu and just went with it. My main was a rack of lamb cooked perfectly. I have never had something so tasty! Breakfast was also included in our stay and again absolutely delightful. Everything was served to our table and made at the premises. Fresh bread, fresh croissants, locally sourced honey and chutneys, home made yogurt and granola, followed by eggs of our choice and a lice of the best apple pie i have ever had! And everytime I said wow, this is great, they would go and get me more :) They offer a range of wellness activities for free like yoga and Pilates. We only stayed one night so did not partake. The staff are really kind and helpful. Highly recommend and it will be somewhere we will visit often. Perhaps next time we will try their treehouse accommodation.
Cooper (5/5): Overpriced. A 300 euro a night experience priced at 500 euros a night. - Some staff members were lovely. Pool was great. Grounds well kept. It is way overpriced for what you get. When I pay 500 euros a night i expect a full service hotel. They served no food after 5 pm unless you agree to purchase their 3 course 55 euros without wine set dinner. Given the remote location, guests’ options are limited.

Melissa (10/5): Perfection in the Algarve near Tavira! - We loved this hotel so much that we extended our booking by a night and stayed in a treehouse room on the last night of our visit to Portugal. Though it was a windy night, we were tucked up comfortably and just loved the beautiful views straight to the sea. The hospitality was impeccable and our dinner was delicious--we could not have enjoyed our stay more! The internet went down for a bit the first night, and unfortunately, it is a fact of life that I need it for business. But it came back up again in just a bit!

Omotarita (10/5): Exceptional - Conversas is truly a dream. I couldn’t have conceived of a more beautiful place to spend a few days away. A rustic farmhouse commune by day turns to a romantic fairy-lit magical forest at night. The facilities are beautifully composed and artfully designed, from the garden whose produce is found integrated into each meal, to the green areas which gladly welcome visits from finches, rabbits and gentle wildlife, and the bountiful orange trees that provided our breakfast juices - each detail serves a dual purpose, contributing in equal measure to both the aesthetic and experience of the space. The service was preternaturally attentive - the team picked up on my partner’s preference for orange juice, and my lactose intolerance without either of us having to say a word. These leanings were then seamlessly incorporated into our daily offerings at mealtimes. Our room, No Clock, embodied its name aptly. We completely lost track of time within the space, and really enjoyed our loft bed, which placed us at eye level with the birds flitting outside our window in the mornings. All in all our time at Conversas entirely exceeded our expectations. I’m usually one for always looking forward, and trying something (or somewhere) new, but in this case, I can’t wait to go back. n/a
