- Krystal (8/5): I was comfortable and well fed!! - Gary was so nice and kind! The place was quiet. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty with a lot of options. The bathtub/shower was the only thing lacking in this place. The jets didn't look very clean and the shower wasn't great.

- Catherine (10/5): We were there for the American Conifer Society Circle Cities Garden Tour and this location was right in the center of th - It was perfectly located in a neighborhood of vintage homes. Garry, the host, provided excellent breakfasts, snacks, drinks, homemade cookies, and books, movies and dvds. He also had explicit instructions on how to get local channels on the TV. (we have stayed in B&Bs where we could not figure it out). Nice nightlight in the bathroom and more than enough towels. Stairs were steep. No lighted mirror in bathroom and mirror over sink was too high.

Host was pretty obnoxious about time of arrival… The room could not be darken - sun wake us up every morning. Bathroom a little tight. It’s an old house. Could be noisy at times.

Every room was beautiful and full of history. The host, Gary, was a true delight and breakfast was top notch! We can't wait to visit again soon. There was absolutely nothing we disliked!

So many snacks and yummies were available as well as quite an extensive collection of videos and DVDs. Loved our room and the whirlpool tub! The breakfast spread was next level. Parking was great. We were there midweek and the only guests so a couple items at breakfast might not have been as fresh as they'd be on a weekend.

- Kimberly (10/5): Highly recommend! - We stayed in the Literary Room, and it was amazing. The king bed was super comfortable and the jet bath tub made for two was super relaxing before bedtime. And Danny, our host, was amazing and super accommodating. From nightlife recommendations to the history of the bed and breakfast, you could ask him anything about the area, and he was quick to respond. He made a really good fluffy quiche for breakfast, too. I would highly recommend this place!

- Gary (4/5): - The immediate area is an older neighborhood but beyond a couple of blocks it deteriorates quickly. The quaint front entry is apparently for show as you enter the premises from a rear alley parking area. We arrived at the property and were given a brief tour by the proprietor. His highlight included showing us 3000+ DVD and VHS videos that we could use. We needed to schedule our breakfast time 24 hours in advance. Guest rooms can be locked from the inside but you cannot secure your belongings when you are not on the premises since there are no room keys.
- Demaris (10/5): - My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend here. It was super cool staying in a historic home. The owner was very nice and gave us a tour of the home sharing it’s history. If you are a movie lover then you will love the hundreds (I’m not exaggerating) of movies you can borrow to enjoy in your room during your stay. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower had really nice water pressure with plenty of hot water. The host provided plenty of free bottles of water and soda in the shared fridge. He made several kinds of homemade cookies that were very yummy. The breakfast was very good offering a hot dish every morning along with cereal, toast, bagels, doughnuts, and even homemade banana nut bread! We really enjoyed our stay. I do want to say that Expedia says the Children’s Museum is walking distance. It is NOT. It is a very short drive and the museum has free parking if that is where you are planning to visit. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe to walk during the day. It is walkable to Massachusetts Avenue during the day where there are a lot of little shops and fantastic restaurants. But, as a person who is from Indianapolis, after dark it is not walkable but a very short drive (with plenty of parking) or Uber ride to Mass Ave and downtown Indianapolis. I highly recommend this BnB. My husband and I really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again.
- Doug (8/5): Beautiful Neighborhood - Old Northside Historical District, hence the name. Coffee, restaurants, bars, all within a mile or less walking distance. Parking behind the building. It's a very old home (1880s) with creaking floors, a narrow staircase, etc., so if that kind of stuff is a bother, you might choose elsewhere. Otherwise, you'll enjoy your stay here, much more than a hotel in the downtown area. Gary is a terrific host who likes to bake. The breakfasts are fantastic and he has homemade cookies to snack all day. You don't need to order dessert when you go out to eat. He also has hundreds of movies to watch on the big-screen in your room (along with streaming services) if you choose to stay in or make it an early night. And he's an entertaining conversationalist. Honestly, I felt like a boarder as much I did a hotel guest.

Gary (owner) made sure that all of our needs were met even before we could think of them as needs. Woke up before we did to make my partner and I breakfast with fresh fruit, and plenty of other options to choose from. The house itself has so much history, his quick tour itself draws you in! 10/10 will be visiting again.

- Griffin (10/5): Great host, great hospitality, - I don't normally bother leaving reviews, but this one is a *strong recommend* folks. *Book now*, especially if you're coming for a big event, because at these low prices compared to hotels with half the service and with all the repeat business from satisfied customers, *all rooms will be gone soon*. What you get: 1. *Great* hospitality: When my car broke down and I couldn't get home from an event, Danny (younger guy with black hair, other host of the place besides Gary, who is older) spent hours picking me up personally from the stadium and taking my whole party out to eat. 2. Local hookup for everything: The next day, he found us a trustworthy local mechanic who only charged $80 and fixed our car right up, while helping another guest (who I also made a connection with and got his phone number) build a new computer (after serving up a delicious french toast casserole for breakfast of course). You won't get that level of service from a hotel chain. 3. Endless free snacks, huge breakfasts, and good people: So when you stay here, you're not just paying for lodging; you're paying for an amazing host/dedicated local hookup to anything you need in Indy (you will get his cell number and he only sleeps like 3 hours a night), basically unlimited snacks and drinks (all free/included 24/7), access to tons of random stuff around the house, great breakfasts with a huge spread, and probably a great opportunity to make some new friends. (If you're there for a big event, almost everyone else will be there for it too, so it's easy to make connections.) You'll also be sent on your way with tons of treats for your return trip. 4. Great location: As a bonus, the place is right near everything. Lucas Oil Stadium, the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Benjamin Harrison estate, the convention center, the Marriott, all of it. 5. Clean and cozy: The place is very clean. It has a lot of stuff, but I wouldn't call it cluttered. It's not really a downside, but it is a historic property from the 1800s. If you have any mobility or significant size concerns, I'd call ahead to confirm any accommodations you might need. They will help you get sorted as much as possible.

- Adam (10/5): Awesome bed and breakfast - We had a wonderful stay, Danny was our host and he is an exceptional host. Danny is very knowledgeable in the history of the house and surrounding area. Danny made sure we were comfortable and the breakfast he made us was amazing and included eggs, several bread types, fresh fruits, breakfast meats, homemade zucchini bread (AMAZING) and coffee and orange juice. I highly recommend staying there.

Even though we ran a little behind, he still greeted up w a smile on his face! He shared some of the history behind the house, which was pretty cool. He’s the go to guy for spots to check out close by! And if you want a little nostalgia, they have an awesome VHS & DVD Collection! The place is kept clean, drinks and snacks kept stocked, beds are comfortable, showers are hot. Fun themes in each room. It’s a must stay if you’re gonna be in Indianapolis!

- Bentley (10/5): Better than home. - The attention to detail in every aspect (property, service, breakfast) is outstanding. I had hoped to be closer to downtown, but I changed my mind after this stay. I'll be back.
